We consider an interacting particle system on the one-dimensional lattice Z modeling combustion. The process depends on two integer parameters 2?a?M<∞. Particles move independently as continuous time simple symmetric random walks except that (i) when a particle jumps to a site which has not been previously visited by any particle, it branches into a particles, (ii) when a particle jumps to a site with M particles, it is annihilated. We start from a configuration where all sites to the left of the origin have been previously visited and study the law of large numbers and central limit theorem for rt, the rightmost visited site at time t. The proofs are based on the construction of a renewal structure leading to a definition of regeneration times for which good tail estimates can be performed.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for systems of semilinear hyperbolic equations. Using the LpLq type estimation for the corresponding linear parts, the existence and uniqueness of weak global solutions are investigated. We also established the behavior of solutions and their derivatives as t→+. Using the method of test functions developed in the works (Mitidieri and Pokhozhaev, 2001 [11], Veron and Pohozaev, 2001 [12] and Caristi, 2000 [23]) we obtain the analogue of the Fujita-Hayakawa type criterion for the absence of global solutions to some system of semilinear hyperbolic inequalities with damping. It follows that the conditions of existence theorem imposed on the growth of nonlinear parts are exact in some sense.  相似文献

We extend the classical Hsu-Robbins-Erd?s theorem to the case when all moments exist, but the moment generating function does not, viz., we assume that Eexp{(log+|X|)α}< for some α>1. We also present multi-index versions of the same and of a related result due to Lanzinger in which the assumption is that Eexp{|X|α}< for some α∈(0,1).  相似文献

We consider the hyperbolic-parabolic singular perturbation problem for a degenerate quasilinear Kirchhoff equation with weak dissipation. This means that the coefficient of the dissipative term tends to zero when t→+∞.We prove that the hyperbolic problem has a unique global solution for suitable values of the parameters. We also prove that the solution decays to zero, as t→+∞, with the same rate of the solution of the limit problem of parabolic type.  相似文献

We deal with the existence of positive solutions u decaying to zero at infinity, for a class of equations of Lane-Emden-Fowler type involving a gradient term. One of the main points is that the differential equation contains a semilinear term σ(u) where σ:(0,)→(0,) is a smooth function which can be both unbounded at infinity and singular at zero. Our technique explores symmetry arguments as well as lower and upper solutions.  相似文献

We study optimal W2,p-regularity for fourth-order parabolic equations with discontinuous coefficients in general domains. We obtain the global W2,p-regularity for each 1<p<∞ under the assumption that the coefficients have suitably small BMO semi-norm of weak type and the boundary of the domain is δ-Reifenberg flat. The situation of our main theorem arises when the conductivity on fractals is controlled by a random variable in the time direction.  相似文献

This is the first part of a series of four articles. In this work, we are interested in weighted norm estimates. We put the emphasis on two results of different nature: one is based on a good-λ inequality with two parameters and the other uses Calderón-Zygmund decomposition. These results apply well to singular “non-integral” operators and their commutators with bounded mean oscillation functions. Singular means that they are of order 0, “non-integral” that they do not have an integral representation by a kernel with size estimates, even rough, so that they may not be bounded on all Lp spaces for 1<p<∞. Pointwise estimates are then replaced by appropriate localized Lp-Lq estimates. We obtain weighted Lp estimates for a range of p that is different from (1,∞) and isolate the right class of weights. In particular, we prove an extrapolation theorem “à la Rubio de Francia” for such a class and thus vector-valued estimates.  相似文献

In this paper we study the smoothness properties of solutions to the KP-I equation. We show that the equation's dispersive nature leads to a gain in regularity for the solution. In particular, if the initial data ? possesses certain regularity and sufficient decay as x→∞, then the solution u(t) will be smoother than ? for 0<t?T where T is the existence time of the solution.  相似文献

We consider the Allen-Cahn equation in Rn (with n?2) and study how a planar front behaves when arbitrarily large (but bounded) perturbation is given near the front region. We first show that the behavior of the disturbed front can be approximated by that of the mean curvature flow with a drift term for all large time up to t=+∞. Using this observation, we then show that the planar front is asymptotically stable in L(Rn) under spatially ergodic perturbations, which include quasi-periodic and almost periodic ones as special cases. As a by-product of our analysis, we present a result of a rather general nature, which states that, for a large class of evolution equations, the unique ergodicity of the initial data is inherited by the solution at any later time.  相似文献

A column continuous transition function is by definition a standard transition function P(t) whose every column is continuous for t?0 in the norm topology of bounded sequence space l. We will prove that it has a stable q-matrix and that there exists a one-to-one relationship between column continuous transition functions and increasing integrated semigroups on l. Using the theory of integrated semigroups, we give some necessary and sufficient conditions under which the minimal q-function is column continuous, in terms of its generator (of the Markov semigroup) as well as its q-matrix. Furthermore, we will construct all column continuous Q-functions for a conservative, single-exit and column bounded q-matrix Q. As applications, we find that many interesting continuous-time Markov chains (CTMCs), say Feller-Reuter-Riley processes, monotone processes, birth-death processes and branching processes, etc., have column continuity.  相似文献

We introduce a bound M of f, ‖f?M?2‖f, which allows us to give for 0?p<∞ sharp upper bounds, and for −∞<p<0 sharp lower bounds for the average of |f|p over E if the average of f over E is zero. As an application we give a new proof of Grüss's inequality estimating the covariance of two random variables. We also give a new estimate for the error term in the trapezoidal rule.  相似文献

It is now a well-known fact that for 1<p<∞ the p-harmonic functions on domains in metric measure spaces equipped with a doubling measure supporting a (1,p)-Poincaré inequality are locally Hölder continuous. In this note we provide a characterization of domains in such metric spaces for which p-harmonic extensions of Hölder continuous boundary data are globally Hölder continuous. We also provide a link between this regularity property of the domain and the uniform p-fatness of the complement of the domain.  相似文献

This paper is devoted to build the existence-and-uniqueness theorem of solutions to stochastic functional differential equations with infinite delay (short for ISFDEs) at phase space BC((−∞,0];Rd). Under the uniform Lipschitz condition, the linear growth condition is weaked to obtain the moment estimate of the solution for ISFDEs. Furthermore, the existence-and-uniqueness theorem of the solution for ISFDEs is derived, and the estimate for the error between approximate solution and accurate solution is given. On the other hand, under the linear growth condition, the uniform Lipschitz condition is replaced by the local Lipschitz condition, the existence-and-uniqueness theorem is also valid for ISFDEs on [t0,T]. Moreover, the existence-and-uniqueness theorem still holds on interval [t0,∞), where t0R is an arbitrary real number.  相似文献

It is well known that the Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem is very very important. It was extensively used for studying the boundary value problems. In this article, the Krasnoselskii's fixed point theorem is extended. The new fixed point theorem is obtained. The second order quasilinear differential equation (Φ (y′))′+a(t)f(t,y,y′)=0,, 0<t<1 subject to mixed boundary condition is studied, where f is a nonnegative continuous function, Φ (v)= |v|p-2 v, p>1. We show the existence of at least one positive solution by using the new fixed point theorem in cone.  相似文献

We study the smoothness properties of solutions to the coupled system of equations of Korteweg—de Vries type. We show that the equations dispersive nature leads to a gain in regularity for the solution. In particular, if the initial data (u0, v0 possesses certain regularity and sufficient decay as x → ∞, then the solution (u(t). v(t)) will be smoother than (u0, v0) for 0 < tT where T is the existence time of the solution.  相似文献

This paper investigates the existence and uniqueness theorem of solutions to neutral stochastic differential equations with infinite delay (short for INSFDEs) at a space BC((-,0];Rd). Under the uniform Lipschitz condition, linear growth condition is weaken to obtain the moment estimate of the solution for INSFDEs. Furthermore, the existence, uniqueness theorem of the solution for INSFDEs is derived, and the estimate for the error between approximate solution and exact solution is given. On the other hand, under the linear growth condition, the uniform Lipschitz condition is replaced by the local Lipschitz condition, the existence, uniqueness theorem is also valid for INSFDEs on [t0,T]. Moreover, the existence, uniqueness theorem still holds on interval [t0,), where t0R is an arbitrary real number.  相似文献

We prove the asymptotic stability of nonplanar two-states Riemann solutions in BGK approximations of a class of multidimensional systems of conservation laws. The latter consists of systems whose flux-functions in different directions share a common complete system of Riemann invariants, the level surfaces of which are hyperplanes. The asymptotic stability to which the main result refers is in the sense of the convergence as t→∞ in of the space of directions ζ=x/t. That is, the solution z(t,x,ξ) of the perturbed Cauchy problem for the corresponding BGK system satisfies as t→∞, in , where R(ζ) is the self-similar entropy solution of the two-states nonplanar Riemann problem for the system of conservation laws.  相似文献

We study vector functions of Rn into itself, which are of the form x?g(|x|)x, where g:(0,∞)→(0,∞) is a continuous function and call these radial functions. In the case when g(t)=tc for some cR, we find upper bounds for the distance of image points under such a radial function. Some of our results refine recent results of L. Maligranda and S.S. Dragomir. In particular, we study quasiconformal mappings of this simple type and obtain norm inequalities for such mappings.  相似文献

We establish the existence of pulsating type entire solutions of reaction-advection-diffusion equations with monostable nonlinearities in a periodic framework. Here the nonlinearities include the classic KPP case. The pulsating type entire solutions are defined in the whole space and for all time tR. By studying a pulsating traveling front connecting a constant unstable stationary state to a stable stationary state which is allowed to be a positive function, we proved that there exist pulsating type entire solutions behaving as two pulsating traveling fronts coming from both directions, and approaching each other. The key techniques are to characterize the asymptotic behavior of the solutions as t→− in terms of appropriate subsolutions and supersolutions.  相似文献
