We show that the recently observed spin resonance modes in heavy-fermion superconductors CeCoIn5 and CeCu2Si2 are magnetic excitons originating from superconducting quasiparticles. The wave vector Q of the resonance state leads to a powerful criterion for the symmetry and node positions of the unconventional gap function. The detailed analysis of the superconducting feedback on magnetic excitations reveals that the symmetry of the superconducting gap corresponds to a singlet d_{x;{2}-y;{2}} state symmetry in both compounds. In particular this resolves the long-standing ambiguity of the gap symmetry in CeCoIn5. We demonstrate that in both superconductors the resonance peak shows a significant dispersion away from Q which can be checked experimentally. Our analysis reveals the similar origin of the resonance peaks in the two heavy-fermion superconductors and in layered cuprates.  相似文献

An elastic Ising model for a one-dimensional diatomic spin chain is proposed to explain the ferroelectricity induced by the collinear magnetic order with a low-excited energy state. A statistical theory based on this model is developed to calculate the electrical and magnetic properties of Ca3CoMnO6, a typical quasi-one-dimensional diatomic spin chain system. The calculated ferroelectric polarization and dielectric susceptibility show a good agreement with recently reported data on Ca3Co2-xMnxO6 (x ≈0.96) (Phys. Rev. Lett. 100 047601 (2008)), although the predicted magnetic susceptibility does not coincide well with experiment. We also address the rationality and deficiency of this model by including a first-order correction which improves the consistency between the model and experiment.  相似文献

We figure out that the ground state of a multiple-spin exchange model applicable to thin films of solid {3}He possesses an octahedral spin nematic order. In the presence of a magnetic field, it is deformed into an antiferroquadrupolar order in the perpendicular spin plane, in which lattice Z{3} rotational symmetry is also broken. Furthermore, this system shows a narrow magnetization plateau at half, m/m{sat}=1/2, which resembles recent magnetization measurements [H. Nema et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 102, 075301 (2009)].  相似文献

We study inserting Co layer thickness-dependent spin transport and spin-orbit torques (SOTs) in the Pt/Co/Py trilayers by spin-torque ferromagnetic resonance. The interfacial perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (IPMA) energy density ($K_{\rm s}= 2.7 $ erg/cm$^{2}$, 1 erg = 10$^{-7}$ J), which is dominated by interfacial spin-orbit coupling (ISOC) in the Pt/Co interface, total effective spin-mixing conductance $(G_{\mathrm{eff,tot}}^{\mathrm{\uparrow \downarrow }}=\mathrm{0.42\times }{10}^{15} \mathrm{\Omega }^{-1}\cdot\mathrm{m}^{-2}$) and two-magnon scattering ($\beta_{\mathrm{TMS}}= 0.46 {\mathrm{nm}}^{2}$) are first characterized, and the damping-like torque ($\xi_{\mathrm{DL}}= 0.103$) and field-like torque ($\xi _{\mathrm{FL}}=-0.017$) efficiencies are also calculated quantitatively by varying the thickness of the inserting Co layer. The significant enhancement of $\xi_{\mathrm{DL}}$ and $\xi_{\mathrm{FL}}$ in Pt/Co/Py than Pt/Py bilayer system originates from the interfacial Rashba-Edelstein effect due to the strong ISOC between Co-3d and Pt-5d orbitals at the Pt/Co interface. Additionally, we find a considerable out-of-plane spin polarization SOT, which is ascribed to the spin anomalous Hall effect and possible spin precession effect due to IPMA-induced perpendicular magnetization at the Pt/Co interface. Our results demonstrate that the ISOC of the Pt/Co interface plays a vital role in spin transport and SOTs-generation. Our finds offer an alternative approach to improve the conventional SOTs efficiencies and generate unconventional SOTs with out-of-plane spin polarization to develop low power Pt-based spintronic via tailoring the Pt/FM interface.  相似文献

Differential conductance spectra are obtained from nanoscale junctions on the heavy-fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 along three major crystallographic orientations. Consistency and reproducibility of characteristic features among the junctions ensure their spectroscopic nature. All junctions show a similar conductance asymmetry and Andreev reflectionlike conductance with a reduced signal ( approximately 10%-13%), both commonly observed in heavy-fermion superconductor junctions. Analysis using the extended Blonder-Tinkham-Klapwijk model indicates that our data provide the first spectroscopic evidence for d_{x;{2}-y;{2}} symmetry. To quantify our conductance spectra, we propose a model by considering the general phenomenology in heavy fermions, the two-fluid behavior, and an energy-dependent density of states. Our model fits to the experimental data remarkably well and should invigorate further investigations.  相似文献

X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) and magnetic circular dichroism (MCD) at the V L{2,3} and C and N K edges reveal bonding and backbonding interactions in films of the 400 K magnetic semiconductor V[TCNE]x approximately 2. In V spectra, d{xy}-like orbitals are modeled assuming V2+ in an octahedral ligand field, while d{z{2}} and d{x{2}-y{2}} orbitals involved in strong covalent sigma bonding cannot be modeled by atomic calculations. C and N MCD, and differences in XAS from neutral TCNE molecules, reveal spin-polarized molecular orbitals in V[TCNE]x approximately 2 associated with weaker pi bonding interactions that yield its novel properties.  相似文献

We discuss some geometric problems related to the definitions of quasilocal mass proposed by Brown and York (Contemporary mathematics, vol 132, American Mathematical Society, Providence, pp 129–142, 1992; Phys Rev D (3) 47(4):1407–1419, 1993) and Liu and Yau (Phys Rev Lett 90(23):231102, 2003; J Am Math Soc 19(1):181–204, 2006). Our discussion consists of three parts. In the first part, we propose a new variational problem on compact manifolds with boundary, which is motivated by the study of Brown-York mass. We prove that critical points of this variation problem are exactly static metrics. In the second part, we derive a derivative formula for the Brown-York mass of a smooth family of closed two dimensional surfaces evolving in an ambient three dimensional manifold. As a by-product, we are able to write the ADM mass (Arnowitt et al. in Phys. Rev. (2), 122:997–1006, 1961) of an asymptotically flat 3-manifold as the sum of the Brown-York mass of a coordinate sphere S r and an integral of the scalar curvature plus a geometrically constructed function Φ(x) in the asymptotic region outside S r . In the third part, we prove that for any closed, spacelike, 2-surface Σ in the Minkowski space \mathbb R3,1{\mathbb {R}^{3,1}} for which the Liu-Yau mass is defined, if Σ bounds a compact spacelike hypersurface in \mathbb R3,1{\mathbb {R}^{3,1}} , then the Liu-Yau mass of Σ is strictly positive unless Σ lies on a hyperplane. We also show that the examples given by ó Murchadha et al. (Phys Rev Lett 92:259001, 2004) are special cases of this result.  相似文献

Unextendible product bases (UPBs) are interesting members of a family of orthogonal product bases. Here, we investigate the construction of 3-qudit UPBs with strong nonlocality. First, a UPB set in ${{C}^{3}}\otimes {{C}^{3}}\otimes {{C}^{3}}$ of size 19 is presented based on the shift UPBs. By mapping the system to a Rubik's cube, we provide a general method of constructing UPBs in ${{C}^{d}}\otimes {{C}^{d}}\otimes {{C}^{d}}$ of size ${{\left(d-1 \right)}^{3}}+2d+5$, whose corresponding Rubik's cube is composed of four parts. Second, for the more general case where the dimensions of parties are different, we extend the classical tile structure to the 3-qudit system and propose the tri-tile structure. By means of this structure, a ${{C}^{4}}\otimes {{C}^{4}}\otimes {{C}^{5}}$ system of size 38 is obtained based on a ${{C}^{3}}\otimes {{C}^{3}}\otimes {{C}^{4}}$ system of size 19. Then, we generalize this approach to the ${{C}^{{{d}_{1}}}}\otimes {{C}^{{{d}_{2}}}}\otimes {{C}^{{{d}_{3}}}}$ system which also consists of four parts. Our research provides a positive answer to the open question raised in by Halder et al. [$Phys. Rev. Lett$. 122 040403 (2019)], indicating that there do exist UPBs that can exhibit strong quantum nonlocality without entanglement.  相似文献

Neutron-deficient actinide nuclei provide a valuable window to probe heavy nuclear systems with large proton-neutron ratios. In recent years, several new neutron-deficient Uranium and Neptunium isotopes have been observed using α-decay spectroscopy [Z. Y. Zhang et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 122, 192503 (2019); L. Ma et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 125, 032502 (2020); Z. Y. Zhang et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 126, 152502 (2021)]. In spite of these achievements, some neutron-deficient key nuclei in this mass region are still unknown in experiments. Machine learning algorithms have been applied successfully in different branches of modern physics. It is interesting to explore their applicability in α-decay studies. In this work, we propose a new model to predict the α-decay energies and half-lives within the framework based on a machine learning algorithm called the Gaussian process. We first calculate the α-decay properties of the new actinide nucleus \begin{document}$ {}^{214}{\rm{U}}$\end{document}. The theoretical results show good agreement with the latest experimental data, which demonstrates the reliability of our model. We further use the model to predict the α-decay properties of some unknown neutron-deficient actinide isotopes and compare the results with traditional models. The results may be useful for future synthesis and identification of these unknown isotopes.  相似文献

We have performed magnetization measurements and electron spin resonance (ESR) on polycrystalline manganites of Nd0.5Sr0.5-xBaxMnO3 (x = 0.1). Phase separation and phase transitions are observed from the susceptibility and the ESR spectra data. Between 260 K (~ Tc) and 185 K (~ TN), the system coexists of the paramagnetic phase and the ferromagnetic (FM) phase. Between 185 K and 140 K, the system coexists of the FM phase and the antiferromagnetic (AFM) phase. These results indicate that the system has a very complex magnetic state due to the origin of the instability stemming from manganite Nd0.5Sr0.4Ba0.1MnO3 by partially substituting the larger Ba^2+ ions for the smaller Sr^2+ ions.  相似文献

In Li and Luo(2007 Phys. Rev. A 76 032327), the inequality(1/2)T≥ Q was identified as a fundamental postulate for a consistent theory of quantum versus classical correlations for arbitrary measures of total T and quantum Q correlations in bipartite quantum states. Besides, Hayden et al(2006 Commun. Math. Phys. 265 95) have conjectured that, in some conditions within systems endowed with infinite-dimensional Hilbert spaces, quantum correlations may dominate not only half of total correlations but total correlations itself. Here, in a two-mode Gaussian state,quantifying T and Q respectively by the quantum mutual information I~G and the entanglement of formation(EoF) ε_F~G, we verify that ε_(F,R)~G,is always less than(1/2) I_R~G when I~G and ε_F~G are defined via the Rényi-2 entropy. While via the von Neumann entropy, ε_(F,V)~G,may even dominate I_V~G itself,which partly consolidates the Hayden conjecture, and partly, provides strong evidence hinting that the origin of this counterintuitive behavior should intrinsically be related to the von Neumann entropy by which the EoF ε_(F,V)~G,is defined, rather than related to the conceptual definition of the EoF ε_F. The obtained results show that—in the special case of mixed two-mode Gaussian states—quantum entanglement can be faithfully quantified by the Gaussian Rényi-2 EoF ε_(F,R)~G,.  相似文献

Neutron scattering is used to probe antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations in the d-wave heavy fermion superconductor CeCoIn5 (T_(c)=2.3 K). Superconductivity develops from a state with slow (variant Planck's over 2piGamma=0.3+/-0.15 meV) commensurate [Q_(0)=(1/2,1/2,1/2)] antiferromagnetic spin fluctuations and nearly isotropic spin correlations. The characteristic wave vector in CeCoIn5 is the same as CeIn3 but differs from the incommensurate wave vector measured in antiferromagnetically ordered CeRhIn5. A sharp spin resonance (variant Planck's over 2piGamma<0.07 meV) at variant Planck's over 2piomega=0.60+/-0.03 meV develops in the superconducting state removing spectral weight from low-energy transfers. The presence of a resonance peak is indicative of strong coupling between f-electron magnetism and superconductivity and consistent with a d-wave gap order parameter satisfying Delta(q+Q0)=-Delta(q).  相似文献

We have studied the magnetism of the half-doped charge ordered manganite YBaMn2O6. A formation of ferromagnetic plaquettes of four Mn atoms in the charge ordered phase below T_{CO} approximately 480 K is inferred from high temperature magnetic susceptibility data and the magnetic structure, as determined by neutron powder diffraction at T=1.5 K. The results indicate that new fourfold Mn paramagnetic units form between T_{N}相似文献

We show that there is no contradiction between the results presented by Pan [Opt. Lett. 25, 369 (2000)] and the 1/L(2) dependence of the radiative energy flux between two half-spaces separated by a small vacuum gap of width L obtained by Polder and Van Hove [Phys. Rev. B 4, 3303 (1971)] and by Loomis and Maris [Phys. Rev. B 50, 18517 (1994)].  相似文献

Using density matrix equation, we calculate analytically as well as numerically the effect of the four-wave mixing (FWM) field on electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) in the rubidium 5S_{1/2}-5P_{3/2}-5D_{5/2} Λ-type system with a two-photon probe field. The calculated results are in good agreement with Fulton's experimental results in 1995 Phys. Rev. A 52 2302.  相似文献

We studied the effect of impurity on the first order superconducting (SC) transition and the high field-low temperature (HFLT) SC state of CeCoIn5 by measuring the specific heat of CeCo(In1-xCdx)_{5} with x=0.0011, 0.0022, and 0.0033 and CeCo(In1-xHgx)_{5} with x=0.000 16, 0.000 32, and 0.000 48 at temperatures down to 0.1 K and fields up to 14 T. Cd substitution rapidly suppresses the crossover temperature T0, where the SC transition changes from second to first order, to T=0 K with x=0.0022 for H parallel[100], while it remains roughly constant up to x=0.0033 for H parallel[001]. The associated anomaly of the proposed FFLO state in Hg-doped samples is washed out by x=0.000 48, while remaining at the same temperature, indicating high sensitivity of that state to impurities. We interpret these results as supporting the nonmagnetic, possibly FFLO, origin of the HFLT state in CeCoIn5.  相似文献

Recently the NuTeV Collaboration (Phys. Rev. Lett. 88, 091802 (2002)) announced a new measurement of which was approximately three standard deviations above the currently accepted standard model value. The NuTeV analysis depends on the assumption that various quark-parton model symmetries are not broken. In particular the analysis takes and d V n (x) = u V p (x). However models which break these symmetries are known. We examine the predictions of these models and their effect on the NuTeV result. In most instances the effect is to decrease the discrepancy between the NuTeV result and the accepted value.Received: 30 September 2002, Published online: 22 October 2003PACS: 13.15. + g Neutrino interactions - 11.30.Hv Flavor symmetries  相似文献

Al, F-doped new perovskite lithium ion conductors (x=0.11) have been prepared by solid state reaction. It is found that a pure perovskite-structured phase with space group of P4mm(99) exits in the composition range of 0<y≤0.10. The sample with y=0.02 possesses the highest ionic conductivity of 1.06×10−3 S/cm at room temperature, and its decomposing voltage is 2.3 V. The factors affecting the conductivity of this system are discussed.  相似文献

We study minimizers of the pseudo-relativistic Hartree functional \({\mathcal {E}}_{a}(u):=\Vert (-\varDelta +m^{2})^{1/4}u\Vert _{L^{2}}^{2}+\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^{3}}V(x)|u(x)|^{2}\mathrm{d}x-\frac{a}{2}\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^{3}}(\left| \cdot \right| ^{-1}\star |u|^{2})(x)|u(x)|^{2}\mathrm{d}x\) under the mass constraint \(\int _{{\mathbb {R}}^3}|u(x)|^2\mathrm{d}x=1\). Here \(m>0\) is the mass of particles and \(V\ge 0\) is an external potential. We prove that minimizers exist if and only if a satisfies \(0\le a<a^{*}\), and there is no minimizer if \(a\ge a^*\), where \(a^*\) is called the Chandrasekhar limit. When a approaches \(a^*\) from below, the blow-up behavior of minimizers is derived under some general external potentials V. Here we consider three cases of V: trapping potential, i.e. \(V\in L_{\mathrm{loc}}^{\infty }({\mathbb {R}}^3)\) satisfies \(\lim _{|x|\rightarrow \infty }V(x)=\infty \); periodic potential, i.e. \(V\in C({\mathbb {R}}^3)\) satisfies \(V(x+z)=V(x)\) for all \(z\in \mathbb {Z}^3\); and ring-shaped potential, e.g. \( V(x)=||x|-1|^p\) for some \(p>0\).  相似文献
