Emission spectra and the energy distribution of the excited-state population density of atoms and ions in erosion laser plasma from CuInS2 with various crystal-structure orderings are analyzed. It is shown that increased ordering of the target crystal structure causes the excited-state energies of indium atoms generated in the laser erosion plume to increase and that sulfur atoms always emit only in transitions from highly excited states. The ratio of relative ion concentrations in the laser plasma plume is Cu+/In+/S+ = 0.3/0.08/2, which corresponds neither to the atomic ratio of Cu/In/S (1/1/2) in the target nor to the ratio of ionization energies. The results are explained by recombination processes for ions and by the atomization specifics of the CuInS2 target exposed to long-wavelength radiation. The atomization consists essentially of dissociative processes expressed by CuInS2 → CuInS + S and CuInS2 → Cu + InS + S. The electron temperature of polycrystal (single-crystal) plasma at a distance of 1 mm from the target is 0.3 eV (0.4 eV) for atoms and 1.3 eV (2.7 eV) for ions and varies negligibly for plasma up to a distance of 7 mm from the target. __________ Translated from Zhurnal Prikladnoi Spektroskopii, Vol. 75, No. 2, pp. 217–223, March–April, 2008.  相似文献

The x-ray spectra of a plasma generated by heating CO2 and Ar clusters with high-intensity femtosecond laser pulses with q las≃1018 W/cm2 are investigated. Spatially resolved x-ray spectra of a cluster plasma are obtained for the first time. Photoionization absorption is observed to influence the spectral line profiles. The recorded features of the x-ray emission spectra definitely indicate the existence of a large relative number of excited ions (≃10−2–10−3) with energies of 0.1–1 MeV in such a plasma. Possible mechanisms underlying the acceleration of ions to high energies are discussed. It is shown that the experimental results can be attributed to the influence of ponderomotive forces in standing waves generated by the reflection of laser radiation from the clusters. Zh. éksp. We report the effect of ambient gas on the formation as well as propagation behaviour of ablated species C2 and CN within the carbon plasma created by focussing a high-power Nd:YAG (λ = 1064 nm) laser onto the rotating graphite target in the nitrogen ambient. The formation of C2 takes place earlier as well as nearer the target compared to that of CN which forms later and far from the target, in 1.2 mbar pressure of N2 gas. Peak arrival time vs. nitrogen gas pressure plot shows a shock wave-like dependence tp n in the pressure range 1.2–120 mbar (collisional regime) which indicates plume confinement with increases in ambient pressure. At higher pressure, thermalization takes place.  相似文献

The spatial characteristic of an aluminum laser-induced plasma are studied at a laser radiation intensity of (3.8–4.8) × 108 W/cm2 and an air residual pressure of 6.7–133.3 Pa. It is found that the duration of the aluminum plasma glow is 50 μs and decreases with decreasing laser power output. The glow intensity reaches a maximum at t = 1.4 μs and rises with laser energy. Typical sizes of the emitting area on the laser torch are determined.  相似文献

It is established that, in the case of laser action on materials in large illuminated spots in atmospheric-pressure air for a laser radiation power density q≤2 MW/cm2 (λ=1.315 μm), an evaporative regime with plane scattering of the laser-produced erosion plasma is realized while, for q≈5–17 MW/cm2, the plasma front is transferred to the air, leading to plasma screening of the target and shaping of a subsonic radiation wave in the air. As the duration of the laser pulses increases (τ∼160 μsec), in spite of the large illuminated spots (S∼150 cm2) the evaporative regime of the laser action with plane plasma scattering goes over into a regime with jet outlow and formation of a quasistationary shock wave. The Coulomb sums S L(q) of the 6Li nucleus have been obtained from electron scattering measurements at 3-momentum transfers q = 1.125–1.625 fm−1. It is found that at q > 1.35 fm−1 the Coulomb sum of the nucleus becomes saturated: S L(q) = 1 .  相似文献

We investigate theoretically the formation of a plasma in a plane layer of polymer foam (density ρ = 0.002 g/cm3 and thickness 800 μm) under the action of an external source of soft X-ray radiation under the conditions of PHELIX experiments. The incident flux is assumed to have a Planck’s distribution over the spectrum with T rad = 20–40 eV. In numerical calculations, the flux of incident X-ray radiation and the spectral constants of the target substance are varied. The action of an external X-ray radiation source on a low-density foam substance with a density of 2 mg/cm3 causes a plasma to be formed with relatively homogeneous profiles of density and temperature T = 15–35 eV. Absorption of externalradiation energy is distributed in the volume. The plasma temperature increases with increase in the external energy, and the energy passed through the plasma also increases. The results prove to be sensitive to the values of optical constants used in numeral simulation. The spectral flux of external radiation passed through the plasma is chosen as a criterion of correctness of the optical constants used in the calculations. In future experiments using the PHELIX facility, we plan to investigate the slowing-down of an ion beam in a plasma formed as a result of indirect heating of low-density polymer triacetate cellulose (TAC) foam with densities ρ = 0.001–0.01 g/cm3 under the action of a pulse of X-ray radiation, into which the laser radiation is preliminarily transformed.  相似文献

We describe a new technique to measure the UV/visible absorption spectrum of the ablated material during the laser pulse. The technique utilizes the continuum emission from one laser produced plasma as a light source to measure the absorption properties of a second laser produced plasma which is formed on a semi-transparent target with an array of 40 μm holes. A 6 ns, 1064 nm laser was used to ablate a Ag target and the plasma absorption was measured in the range 450–625 nm for a laser fluence of 1 J cm−2. The total absorption cross-section is (0.5–1.5)×10−17 cm2 in the range 450–540 nm. By comparing the measured absorption with a calculation using the plasma spectroscopy code FLYCHK it can be concluded that, in the wavelength region examined here, the absorption is mainly due to bound-bound transitions.  相似文献

Time- and spatially-resolved optical emission spectroscopy was performed to characterize the plasma produced in a hybrid magnetron-sputtering-laser deposition system, which is used for TiC or SiC thin films preparation. A graphite target was ablated by a KrF excimer laser (λ=248 nm,τ=20 ns) and either Ti or Si targets were used for DC magnetron sputtering in argon ambient. Spectra were measured in the range 250–850 nm. The evolution of the spectra with varying magnetron powers (0–100 W) and argon pressures (0.3–10 Pa) was studied. Spectra of the plasmas produced by a) the magnetron alone, b) the ablation laser alone, and c) the magnetron and the ablation laser together, were recorded. Spectra (a) were dominated by Ar atoms and Ar+ ions. Emission lines of Ti and Si were detected, when Ti target and Si target was used, respectively. Spectra (b) revealed emission of C, C+, C2, Ar, Ar+. Spectra (c) showed presence of all previously mentioned species and further of Ti+ ions emission was detected. The dynamics of near-surface plasma formation and the formation of an erosion plasma flame was investigated for quasi-continuous laser radiation (λ=1.06 μm, q=0.1–10 MW/cm2, τ∼1.5 msec) acting on bismuth targets in air. The absence of low-threshold plasma formation at q<2 MW/cm2 was established and explained. Instabilities in the plasma formation were revealed and the range of laser radiation power densities (2≤q≤4 MW/cm2) at which these instabilities take place was determined. At q≥5.4 MW/cm2, brightening of the flame was noted. The dependence of the luminescence temperature of the flame on the laser radiation power density q was determined. We have experimentally investigated the interaction of high-power neodymium laser pulses in the intensity range 1013–1014 W/cm2 with flat low-density (0.5–10 mg/cm3) agar-agar targets under conditions of interest for problems of inertial nuclear fusion. Optical and x-ray methods with high temporal and spatial resolution were used to examine the dependence of absorption and scattering of the incident beam on the initial mean density and thickness of the irradiated samples. We show that when a porous target is irradiated, a bulk absorption layer of high-temperature plasma is produced inside the target whose dimensions are determined by the initial density of the material. The time dependence and spectral composition of the harmonics 2ω 0 and 3ω 0/2 observed in the plasma-scattered radiation are measured. A theoretical model is developed that describes the interaction of high-power laser pulses with a porous medium. Predictions of the model, based on the hypothesis of two stages of homogenization of the target material—a fast stage (0.1–0.3 ns) and a slow stage (1–3 ns), are in good agreement with the experimental data. A projectile ion-recoil ion coincidence technique has been employed to study the multiple ionization and the charge transfer processes in collisions of 60–120 MeV Si q+ (q = 4−14) ions with neutral argon atoms. The relative contribution of different ionization channels, namely; direct ionization, electron capture and electron loss leading to the production of slow moving multiply charged argon recoil ions have been investigated. The data reported on the present collision system result from a direct measurement in the considered impact energy for the first time. The total ionization cross-sections for the recoil ions are shown to scale as q 1.7/E p 0.5 , where E p is the energy in MeV of the projectile and q its charge state. The recoil fractions for the cases of total- and direct ionizations are found to decrease with increasing recoil charge state j. The total ionization fractions of the recoils are seen to depend on q and to show the presence of a ‘shell-effect’ of the target. Further, the fractions are found to vary as 1/j 2 upto j = 8+. The average recoil charge state 〈j〉 increases slowly with q and with the number of lost or captured electrons from or into the projectile respectively. The projectile charge changing cross-sections σ qq are found to decrease with increasing q for loss ionization and to increase with q for direct-and capture ionization processes respectively. The physics behind various scaling rules that are found to follow our data for different ionization processes is reviewed and discussed.  相似文献

Some results of an experimental and theoretical study of the interaction of laser pulses with plastic foams are reported. The propagation velocity of a hydrodynamic peturbation which was initiated in foam target under the action of a laser pulse with intensityq≈2·1013 W/cm2 and the velocity distribution function of plasma ions were measured; the preliminary results of time-integrated spectroscopic measurements of an intense red-shifted signal are also reported. A self-consistent model of the foam target’s laser plasma formed in a hydrodynamic mode was derived. The predictions of this model are consistent with experimental results. A model of microprocesses of laser plasma formation in a structured material was also developed. The results of numerical simulations by 1D and 2D computer codes are also reported. The mechanisms of erosion of metal surfaces under the action of submicrosecond (10−9−10−6 s) ion beams in the power density range of P = 106−109 W/cm2 with a particle energy of 1–2000 keV are considered. It is shown that the collective processes associated with the radiation heating of the surface are of great importance. A model for the erosion is proposed. In accordance with this model, the flow of atoms of the target leaving the surface being irradiated consists of two independent components caused by collisional sputtering and evaporation, respectively. The influence of the irradiation parameters on the erosion coefficient and the ratio between the sputtering and evaporation factors is analyzed.  相似文献

We calculate the concentration of plasma and gas-temperature components in a contracted filament of a glow capillary discharge (R = 0.75 mm) in xenon for pressures of P = 100 and 400 Torr and currents of I = 6–15 mA for cases of with and without cryogenic cooling of the discharge. We find that the gas temperature in the channel of the glow discharge has a value of 1000–2000 K, the concentration of xenon excimers attains a maximum at the boundary of the filament with a value of 1010–1011 cm−3, and the efficiency of electric energy transformation into excimer radiation energy has a value of 0.1–5%.  相似文献

Spectra of plasma of the incomplete surface discharge in atmospheric-pressure air were measured. Bands of the systems 2+, 1+, and 1 of nitrogen were identified. It was shown that periodic excitation at the C 3Π u nitrogen level results in local equilibrium characterized by a vibrational temperature of 2250 K. For the 1+ band system of nitrogen, the structure of rotational transitions was resolved; it was found that the distribution in the 1+ band system is significantly nonequilibrium due to the A 3Σ u + level metastability. Transverse and longitudinal sections of the plasma band were scanned. It was found that the transverse distribution of the emission intensity has a maximum at a distance of 1 mm from the electrode edge followed by an exponential decay. The plasma band width was ∼5 mm. The longitudinal discharge structure consisted of a system of microchannels (with a characteristic diameter of 0.4 mm) with diffuse overlapping. The average channel density was 10–15 cm−1. It was shown that the spatial distribution of incomplete discharge plasma is characterized by high stability against wide-range variations of discharge electrical characteristics. For example, as the excitation voltage varies within 2–6 kV, the plasma band width changed by no more than 1 mm, and the vibrational temperature varied within 10–12%.  相似文献

The effect of pulsed laser treatment of metal, and metal blacks, was studied. Gold and black gold thin films were fabricated by thermal evaporation of gold in a vacuum and nitrogen atmosphere respectively. Black gold films were grown in a nitrogen atmosphere at pressures of 200 Pa and 300 Pa. UV pulsed laser radiation (λ = 266 nm, τ = 4 ns), with fluence ranging from 1 mJ·cm−2 to 250 mJ·cm−2 was used for the film treatment in a vacuum and nitrogen atmosphere. The nitrogen pressure was varied up to 100 kPa. Surface structure modifications were analyzed by optical microscopy, atomic force microscopy (AFM) and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) was used for chemical characterization of the samples. A significant dependence of the film optical and structural properties on laser treatment conditions (laser fluence, ambient pressure and number of applied pulses) was found. The threshold for observable damage and initiation of changes of morphology for gold and black gold surfaces was determined. Distinct modifications were observed for fluences greater than 106 mJ·cm−2 and 3.5 mJ·cm−2 for the gold and black gold films respectively. Absorbtivity of the black gold film is found to decrease with an increase in the number of laser pulses. Microstructural and nanostructural modifications after laser treatment of the black gold film were observed. EDX analysis revealed that no impurities were introduced into the samples during both the deposition and laser treatment.   相似文献

Two methods of preparation of the devices for visualization of pulsed and continuous near-IR (near infrared) are described and the results of conversion of pulsed and continuous IR (800–1360 nm) laser radiation into the visible range of spectra (400–680 nm) by using a transparent substrate covered with the particles (including nanoparticles) of effective nonlinear materials of GaSe x S1 − x (0.2 ≤ x ≤ 0.8) are presented. Converted light can be detected in transmission or reflection geometry as a visible spot corresponding to the real size of the incident laser beam. Developed device structures can be used for checking if the laser is working or not, for optical adjustment, for visualization of distribution of laser radiation over the cross of the beam and for investigation of the content of the laser radiation. Low energy (power density) limit for visualization of the IR laser pulses with 2–3 ps duration for these device structures are: between 4.6–2.1 μJ (3 × 10−4−1 × 10−4 W/cm2) at 1200 nm; between 8.4–2.6 μJ (4.7 × 10−4−1.5 × 10−4 W/cm2) at 1300 nm; between 14.4–8.1 μJ (8.2 × 10−4–4.6 × 10−4 W/cm2) at 1360 nm. Threshold damage density is more than 10 MW/cm2 at λ = 1060 nm, pulse duration τ = 35 ps. The results are compared with commercially existing laser light visualizators.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to recent results concerning investigation of physical processes occurring in a “laser greenhouse” target. Results of experimental and theoretical studies of laser-pulse interaction with a low-density absorber of the target, namely, with a porous substance having density close to the plasma critical density, are presented. On the basis of a vast cycle of experiments carried out in a number of laboratories, it is shown that the absorption of the laser radiation in porous media, including those with a density exceeding the critical one by at least a factor of 4 to 6, has a bulk nature and is distributed over the target depth. In particular, the laser-radiation absorption region in a porous substance with density 10−3–10−2 g/cm3 is extended into the target 400–100 μm, respectively. The coefficient of absorption of laser radiation with intensity 1014–1015 W/cm2 in porous substances, including those of the supercritical density, is 70–90%. Experiments have not shown enhanced (compared to a solid-state target) radiation intensity associated with a possible development of parametric instabilities in an extended laser plasma of low-density porous media, as well as noticeable contribution of fast electrons to the energy balance and their effect on the energy transfer. In this paper, theoretical models are developed explaining features of the laser-radiation absorption and energy transfer in porous media. These models are based on the phenomenon of laser-radiation interaction with solid components of a porous substance and plasma production inside pores and cells of the medium. The efficiency of energy conversion in the vicinity of the ignition threshold for the laser-greenhouse target is investigated in the case of an absorber having the above properties. Numerical calculations have shown that a thermonuclear-gain coefficient of 1 to 2 (with respect to the energy absorbed) is attained for a laser-radiation energy of 100 kJ. We study, via Monte Carlo simulation, the dynamic critical behavior of the Chayes–Machta dynamics for the Fortuin–Kasteleyn random-cluster model, which generalizes the Swendsen–Wang dynamics for the q-state Potts ferromagnet to non-integer q≥1. We consider spatial dimension d=2 and 1.25≤q≤4 in steps of 0.25, on lattices up to 10242, and obtain estimates for the dynamic critical exponent z CM. We present evidence that when 1≤q≲1.95 the Ossola–Sokal conjecture z CMβ/ν is violated, though we also present plausible fits compatible with this conjecture. We show that the Li–Sokal bound z CMα/ν is close to being sharp over the entire range 1≤q≤4, but is probably non-sharp by a power. As a byproduct of our work, we also obtain evidence concerning the corrections to scaling in static observables.  相似文献
