Two new heterotrinuclear FeIII-MII-FeIII oxalate-bridged complexes have been prepared, and characterized, namely MII[(ox)FeIII(Salen)]2, [Salen = N,N′-ethylenebis(salicylideneiminate), ox = oxalate, M = Cu (1) and VO (2)]. Based on elemental analysis, conductivity measurements and i.r. spectra, the complexes are proposed to have an oxalate-bridged structure. The magnetic susceptibilities of the complexes were measured over the 4.2–300 K range, giving the exchange integrals J AB = −4.23 cm−1, J AA = −2.47 cm−1 for (1) and J AB = −5.42 cm−1, J AA = −1.55 cm−1 for (2). These results revealed the operation of an antiferromagnetic spin-exchange interaction between the metal ions. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Summary.  Density functional theoretical methods have been used to study magneto-structural correlations for linear trinuclear hydroxo-bridged copper(II) complexes. The nearest-neighbor exchange coupling constant shows very similar trends to those found earlier for dinuclear compounds for which the Cu–O–Cu angle and the out of plane displacement of the hydrogen atoms at the bridge are the two key structural factors that determine the nature of their magnetic behavior. Changes in these two parameters can induce variations of over 1000 cm−1 in the value of the nearest-neighbor coupling constant. On the contrary, coupling between next-nearest neighbors is found to be practically independent of structural changes with a value for the coupling constant of about −60 cm−1. The magnitude calculated for this coupling constant indicates that considering its value to be negligible, as usually done in experimental studies, can lead to considerable errors, especially for compounds in which the nearest-neighbor coupling constant is of the same order of magnitude. Summary.  A new simple, rapid, sensitive, and selective method is proposed for the microdetermination of mercury. Mercury(II) forms insoluble complexes with 2,3-dichloro-6-(2-hydroxy-3,5-dinitrophenylazo)-quinoxaline (1), 2,3-dichloro-6-(5-amino-3-carboxy-2-hydroxy-phenylazo)-quinoxaline (2), 2,3-dichloro-6-(2,7-dihydroxynaphth-1-ylazo)-quinoxaline (3), and 2,3-dichloro-6-(3-carboxy-2-hydroxy-naphth-1-ylazo)-quinoxaline (4) in aqueous acidic medium; the complexes can be made soluble by the action of an anionic surfactant. The solution of the pink coloured compounds is stable for at least 24 h. Beer’s law is obeyed over the concentration range from 0.1 to 2.8 μg · cm−3 of mercury. For a more accurate analysis, Ringbom optimum concentration ranges were found to be 0.25–2.5 μg · cm−3. The molar absorpitivity, Sandell sensitivity, and relative standard deviations were also calculated. A slight interference from Pd2+ and Cd2+ is exhibited by the first three ligands, whereas the last one is only negligibly affected by these metal ions. Strong interference from Ag(I) is evident for all ligands, whereas alkali, alkaline earth, and other transition metals tested posed negligible interference. 15 μg · cm−3 of Cd2+ and Pd2+ or 10 μg · cm−3 of Ag+ can be tolerated if 1.0 mg of potassium bromide and 2.0 mg of citrate as masking agents are added for the determination of 1.5 μg · cm−3 of mercury(II). The method was applied to the determination of methyl- and ethylmercury chloride and the analysis of environmental water samples. Received August 7, 2000. The results of static magnetic susceptibility studies of spacer-armed dinuclear copper(II) complexes with dicarboxylic acid acylhydrazones are described. Weak exchange coupling between paramagnetic centers has been detected with an exchange parameter value of −2J ∼ 1–7 cm−1. Short intermolecular contacts give rise to additional weak antiferromagnetic exchange coupling between copper cations comparable in terms of energy with superexchange inside the dinuclear complex (−zJ′ ∼ 0.6–5.0 cm−1).  相似文献

Summary. Novel glass-forming 2-(1-phenyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydroquinoline-6-ylmethylene)-1,3-indandione derivatives were synthesized and their thermal properties were studied. The results of a preliminary investigation of the photoelectric properties of amorphous films of the title compounds are briefly reported. The ionization potential of these molecular glasses is ca. 5.6 eV and the hole drift mobility exceeds 10−8 cm2 V−1 s−1 at strong electric fields.  相似文献

Relativistic energy-consistent small-core lanthanide pseudopotentials of the Stuttgart–Bonn variety and extended valence basis sets have been used for the investigation of the dimers La2 and Lu2. It was found that the ground states for La2 and Lu2 are most likely 1 g + g 2π u 4) and 3 g (4f 144f 14σ g 2σ u 2πu 2), respectively. The molecular constants including error bars were derived from multireference configuration interaction as well as coupled-cluster calculations, taking into account corrections for atomic spin–orbit splitting as well as possible basis set superposition errors. The theoretical values for La2 (R e=2.70±0.03 ?, D e=2.31±0.13 eV, ωe=186±13 cm−1) show good agreement with the experimental binding energy (D e=2.52±0.22 eV), but the experimental vibrational constant in an Ar matrix (ωe=236±0.8 cm−1) is significantly higher. For Lu2 the theoretical values (R e=3.07±0.03 ?, D e=1.40±0.12 eV, ωe=123±1 cm−1) are in overall excellent agreement with experimental data (D e=1.43±0.34 eV, ωe=122± 1 cm−1). The electronic structures of La2 and Lu2 are compared to those other lanthanide dimers and trends in the series are discussed. Carbohydrazide is prepared by reacting dimethyl carbonate with hydrazine hydrate. Its single crystal has been cultured with slow evaporation method. Its molecular structure and crystal structure have been determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction technique. The obtained results shows that the crystal belongs to Crystal system of Monoclinic, space group P2(1)/n with crystal parameters of a = 3.725(1), b = 8.834(2), c = 11.96(3), β = 91.97(1)°, V = 392.23(2) 3, Z = 4, D c = 1.522 g/cm3, μ = 0.128 mm−1, F0 0 0) = 192. Based on the crystal data, we have also carried quantum chemistry calculations on the title compound using the B3LYP and MP2 method with cc-pVTZ basis set. The calculation results further demonstrate the molecular structure of title compound and its coordination properties.  相似文献

A quantitative survey on the performance of multireference (MR), configuration interaction with all singles and doubles (CISD), MRCISD with the Davidson correction and MR-average quadratic coupled cluster (AQCC) methods for a wide range of excited states of the diatomic molecules B2, C2, N2 and O2 is presented. The spectroscopic constants r e, ωe, T e and D e for a total of 60 states have been evaluated and critically compared with available experimental data. Basis set extrapolations and size-extensivity corrections are essential for highly accurate results: MR-AQCC mean-errors of 0.001 ?, 10 cm−1, 300 cm−1 and 300 cm−1 have been obtained for r e, ωe, T e and D e, respectively. Owing to the very systematic behavior of the results depending on the basis set and the choice of method, shortcomings of the calculations, such as Rydberg state coupling or insufficient configuration spaces, can be identified independently of experimental data. On the other hand, significant discrepancies with experiment for states which indicate no shortcomings whatsoever in the theoretical treatment suggest the re-evaluation of experimental results. The broad variety of states included in our survey and the uniform quality of the results indicate that the observed systematics is a general feature of the methods and, hence, is molecule-independent. Summary.  Some novel 4-[[2-[[5-(2-furanyl)-4-alkyl/aryl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-3-yl]thio]-acetyl/propionyl]-amino]-1,5-dimethyl-3-oxo-2-phenyl-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrazoles were synthesized and evaluated for in vitro antibacterial activity against Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 29213, Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853, Escherichia coli ATCC 25922, and Enterococcus faecalis ATCC 29212 and antifungal activity against Candida albicans ATCC 10231, Candida parapsilosis ATCC 22019, Candida krusei ATCC 6258, Candida parapsilosis, Trichophyton mentagrophytes var. erinacei NCPF 375, Microsporum gypseum NCPF 580, and Trichophyton rubrum using the microbroth dilution method. All of the compounds were found to be ineffective against the above bacteria within the applied MIC ranges. On the other hand, they were effective against fungi to different degrees. Three compounds showed high activity against C. parapsilosis and T. mentagrophytes var. erinacei NCPF 375 (MIC = 8 μg cm−3). The in vitro antimycobacterial activity of the new compounds was also investigated against Mycobacterium tuberculosis H37RV (ATCC 27294) in BACTEC 12B medium using a broth microdilution assay, the Microplate Alamar Blue Assay (MABA). Compounds exhibiting fluorescence were tested in the BACTEC 460 radiometric system. The most active compound was found with 66% inhibition at >6.25 μg cm−3. Corresponding author. Calculations at various coupled-cluster (CC) levels with and without the inclusion of linear r i j -dependent terms are performed for the HF molecule in its ground state with a systematic variation of basis sets. The main emphasis is on spectroscopic properties such as the equilibrium distance r e and the harmonic vibration frequency ωe. Especially with the R12 methods (including linear r i j -dependent terms), convergence to the basis set limit is reached. However, the results (at the basis set limit) are rather sensitive to the level of the treatment of electron correlation. The best results are found for the CCSDT1-R12 and CCSD[T]-R12 methods (CCSD[T] was previously called CCSD+T(CCSD)), while CCSD(T) overestimates ωe by ≈6 cm−1. The good agreement of conventional CCSD(T) with experiment for basis sets far from saturation (e.g. truncated at g-functions) is probably the result of a compensation of errors. The contribution of core-correlation is non-negligible and must be included (effect on ωe≈5 cm−1). Relativistic effects are also important (23 cm−1), while adiabatic effects are much smaller (<1cm−1) and non-adiabatic effects on ωe can be simulated in replacing nuclear by atomic masses; for rotation nuclear masses appear to be the better choice, at least for hydrides. From a potential curve based on calculations with the CCSDT1-R12 method with relativistic corrections, the IR spectrum is computed quantum-mechanically. Both the band heads and the rotational structures of the observed spectra are reproduced with a relative error of ≈10−4 for the three isotopomers HF, DF, and TF. The reactions of cisplatin with nizatidine and ranitidine were studied in D2O at pD 7.4 and 298 K by means of 1H NMR spectroscopy. The second order rate constants, k 2, for the reaction of cisplatin with nizatidine is (2.71 ± 0.11) × 10−4M −1 s−1, and for the reaction with ranitidine (6.72 ± 0.17) × 10−4M −1 s−1. The reactions of nizatidine and ranitidine were also studied with other Pd(II) and Pt(II) complexes. The set of the complexes was selected because of their difference in reactivity, steric hindrance, and binding properties. Correspondence: Prof. Dr. Živadin D. Summary.  The structures and relative energies of fundamental conformations of cyclopenta-1,2,3-triene, cyclohexa-1,2,3-triene, cylohepta-1,2,3-triene, cycloocta-1,2,3-triene, and cyclonona-1,2,3-triene were calculated by the HF/6-31G* and MP2/6-31G*//HF/6-31G* methods. Only a C 2v symmetric planar conformation is available to cyclopenta-1,2,3-triene and cyclohexa-1,2,3-triene. The calculated energy barrier for ring inversion of the C S symmetric puckerd conformation of cyclohepta-1,2,3-triene via the planar geometry is 62.2 kJ·mol−1. The C 2 symmetric twist conformation of cycloocta-1,2,3-triene was calculated to be the most stable one. Conformational racemization of the twist form takes place via the C S symmetric half-chair geometry, which is by 60.8 kJ·mol−1 less stable than the twist conformer. The C S symmetric chair and unsymmetrical twist-boat conformations of cyclonona-1,2,3-triene were calculated to have similar energies; their interconversion takes place via an unsymmetrical low-energy (18.4 kJ·mol−1) transition state. The twist (C 2) and boat (C S) geometries of cyclonona-1,2,3-triene are higher in energy by 13.2 and 33.9 kJ·mol−1, respectively. Ring inversion in chair and twist-boat conformations takes place via a twist form as intermediate and requires 33.6 kJ·mol−1. Corresponding author. Summary.  Ab initio calculations at the HF/6-31G* level of theory for geometry optimization and the MP2/6-31G*//HF/6-31G* level for a single point total energy calculation are reported for (Z,Z)-, (E,Z)-, and (E,E)-cycloocta-1,4-dienes. The C 2-symmetric twist-boat conformation of (Z,Z)-cycloocta-1,4-diene was calculated to be by 3.6 kJ·mol−1 more stable than the C S-symmetric boat-chair form; the calculated energy barrier for ring inversion of the twist-boat conformation via the C S-symmetric boat-boat geometry is 19.1 kJ·mol−1. Interconversion between twist-boat and boat-chair conformations takes place via a half-chair (C 1) transition state which is 43.5 kJ·mol−1 above the twist-boat form. The unsymmetrical twist-boat-chair conformation of (E,Z)-cycloocta-1,4-diene was calculated to be by 18.7 kJ·mol−1 more stable than the unsymmetrical boat-chair form. The calculated energy barrier for the interconversion of twist-boat-chair and boat-chair is 69.5 kJ·mol−1, whereas the barrier for swiveling of the trans-double bond through the bridge is 172.6 kJ·mol−1. The C S symmetric crown conformation of the parallel family of (E,E)-cycloocta-1,4-diene was calculated to be by 16.5 kJ·mol−1 more stable than the C S-symmetric boat-chair form. Interconversion of crown and boat-chair takes place via a chair (C S) transition state which is 37.2 kJ·mol−1 above the crown conformation. The axial- symmetrical twist geometry of the crossed family of (E,E)-cycloocta-1,4-diene is 5.9 kJ·mol−1 less stable than the crown conformation. Corresponding author. Summary.  Hydrazinium(+2) fluoroarsenate(III) fluoride was prepared by the reaction of hydrazinium(+2) fluoride and liquid arsenic trifluoride. N2H6AsF4F is stable at 273 K, but decomposes slowly at room temperature. N2H6AsF4F crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pnn2 with a = 774.0(2) pm, b = 1629.2(4) pm and c = 436.6(1) pm; V = 0.5506(3) nm3, Z = 4 and d c  = 2.461 g cm−3. The structure consists of N2H6 2+ cations, AsF4 anions, and F anions and is interconnected by a hydrogen bonding network. Distorted trigonal-bipyramidal AsF4 units are very weakly interconnected and form chains along the b axis. Bands in the Raman spectrum are assigned to the vibrations of N2H6 +2 cations and AsF4 anions. Corresponding author. Vibrational spectroscopy techniques can be applied to identify a susceptibility-to-adenocarcinoma biochemical signature. A sevenfold difference in incidence of prostate adenocarcinoma (CaP) remains apparent amongst populations of low- (e.g. India) compared with high-risk (e.g. UK) regions, with migrant studies implicating environmental and/or lifestyle/dietary causative factors. This study set out to determine the biospectroscopy-derived spectral differences between risk-associated cohorts to CaP. Benign prostate tissues were obtained using transurethral resection from high-risk (n = 11, UK) and low-risk (n = 14, India) cohorts. Samples were analysed using attenuated total reflection Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, FTIR microspectroscopy and Raman microspectroscopy. Spectra were subsequently processed within the biochemical cell region (1,800−1–500 cm–1) employing principal component analysis (PCA) and linear discriminant analysis (LDA) to determine whether wavenumber–absorbance/intensity relationships might reveal biochemical differences associated with region-specific susceptibility to CaP. PCA-LDA scores and corresponding cluster vector plots identified pivotal segregating biomarkers as 1,582 cm−1 (Amide I/II trough); 1,551 cm−1 (Amide II); 1,667 cm−1 (Amide I); 1,080 cm−1 (DNA/RNA); 1,541 cm−1 (Amide II); 1,468 cm−1 (protein); 1,232 cm−1 (DNA); 1,003 cm−1 (phenylalanine); 1,632 cm−1 [right-hand side (RHS) Amide I] for glandular epithelium (P < 0.0001) and 1,663 cm−1 (Amide I); 1,624 cm−1 (RHS Amide I); 1,126 cm−1 (RNA); 1,761, 1,782, 1,497 cm−1 (RHS Amide II); 1,003 cm−1 (phenylalanine); and 1,624 cm−1 (RHS Amide I) for adjacent stroma (P < 0.0001). Primarily protein secondary structure variations were biomolecular markers responsible for cohort segregation with DNA alterations exclusively located in the glandular epithelial layers. These biochemical differences may lend vital insights into the aetiology of CaP.  相似文献

A polarographic catalytic wave of prednisone in the presence of K2S2O8 was observed. The polarographic catalytic wave of prednisone as catalyst was attributed to such chemical reaction parallel to electrode reaction as oxidized the free radical from one electron reduction of the Δ1,4-3 keto group of prednisone to regenerate the original keto group. The catalytic wave can be used for the determination of prednisone with the help of conventional polarographic equipment, such as linear-potential scan polarograph. In 0.12 mol l−1 HAc-0.08 mol l−1 NaAc-0.014 mol l−1 K2S2O8 (pH 4.6) supporting electrolyte, the second-order derivative peak current of the catalytic wave was rectilinear to prednisone concentration in the range of 3.2 × 10−7∼1.6 × 10−5 mol l−1. The detection limit was 8.0 × 10−8 mol l−1. Received August 6, 2001; accepted April 17, 2002; published online July 22, 2002  相似文献

Summary.  A new selective, sensitive, and simple kinetic method is developed for the determination of trace amounts of iodide. The method is based on the catalytic effect of iodide on the reaction of triflupromazine (TFP) with H2O2. The reaction is followed spectrophotometrically by tracing the oxidation product at 498 nm within 1 min after addition of H2O2. The optimum reaction conditions are TFP (0.4 × 10−3 M), H2SO4 (1.0M), H3PO4 (2.0M), and H2O2 (1.6M) at 30°C. Following this procedure, iodide can be determined with a linear calibration graph up to 4.5 ng ċ cm−3 and a detection limit of 0.04 ng ċ cm−3, based on the 3 Sb criterion. The method can also be applied to the determination of iodate and periodate ions. Determination of as little as 0.2, 1.0, 2.0, and 4.0 ng ċ cm−3 of I, IO3 -, or IO4 - in aqueous solutions gave an average recovery of 98% with relative standard deviations below 1.6% (n = 5). The method was applied to the determination of iodide in Nile river water and ground waters as well as in various food samples after alkaline ashing treatment. The method is compared with other catalytic spectrophotometric procedures for iodide determination. Received January 19, 2001. Accepted (revised) March 12, 2001  相似文献

We describe a sol-gel approach by which iron hexacyanoferrate is immobilized in silica in a manner suited to investigation by electrochemistry in the absence of a contacting liquid phase. Such physicochemical parameters as concentration of redox sites (C o) and apparent (effective) diffusion coefficient (D app) are estimated by performing cyclic voltammetric and potential step experiments in two time regimes, which are characterized by linear and spherical diffusional patterns, respectively. Values of D app and C o thereby obtained are 2.0 × 10−6 cm2 s−1 and 1.4 × 10−2 mol dm−3. The D app value is larger than expected for a typical solid redox-conducting material. Analogous measurements done in iron(III) hexacyanoferrate(III) solutions of comparable concentrations, 1.0 × 10−2 and 5.0 × 10−3 mol dm−3, yield D app on the level of 5–6 × 10−6 cm2 s−1. Thus, the dynamics of charge propagation in this sol-gel material is almost as high as in the liquid phase. The residual water in the silica, along with the pore structure, are important to the overall mechanism of charge transport, which apparently is limited by physical diffusion rather than electron self-exchange. Under conditions of a solid state voltammetric experiment which utilizes an ultramicroelectrode, encapsulated iron hexacyanoferrate redox centers seem to be in the dispersed colloidal state rather than in a form of the rigid polymeric film. The reaction of copper(I) chloride with Htbo (1,4,6-triazabicyclo[3.3.0]oct-4-ene) under reflux in THF with oxidation by oxygen, produces a neutral cluster comprising two oxo-tetra-copper(II) units connected by six tbo bridges three of them bind two and the other three bind four metals; each unit also contains three chlorine bridges and a Htbo terminal ligand. Two different X-ray crystal structures (1a, 1b) have been determined and the magnetic behavior has been studied. The molar magnetic susceptibility measurements indicate strong exchange interactions within an oxo cluster with coupling constants of J 1 = −163 cm−1 and J 2 = −1.1 cm−1, and a weak interaction across the guanidinate bridges of J 3 = −5.2 cm−1 of the octa-CuII cluster.  相似文献
