The interaction between mixed sub-and supersonic flow near a convex breakpoint of a profile with a rectilinear wall downstream of this breakpoint is investigated. If we start from the fact that the initial flow has the character of a singularity in the domain ahead of the last characteristic of the rarefaction node [1], then the solution in the interaction domain, obtained in the hodograph plane under the assumption of its continuity in the physical plane, is not realizable because of the presence of limit lines. This governs the hypotheses of the formation of the compression shock emerging from the corner point and having zero intensity there.  相似文献

An asymptotic theory of the interaction of a turbulent boundary layer on a plate with a normal shock wave of low intensity has been constructed in various studies [1–4] under the assumption that the averaged velocity of the particles in the boundary layer in front of the interaction region satisfies a logarithmic law. In the present paper a different approach to this problem is proposed based on a power law of the velocity in the undisturbed boundary layer. The obtained results give different estimates for not only the sizes of the characteristic flow regions in the interaction region but also for the shock intensity leading to boundary layer separation.  相似文献

The transonic flow equation [1] for plane unsteady irrotational idealgas flows is extended to the case of subsonic, transonic or supersonic flows in a region with an almost constant value of the velocity using orthogonal flow coordinates (family of equipotential lines and streamlines). A solution for the nonlinear far field of steady transonic flow past an airfoil has been obtained for the transonic equation [2]. In this paper it is obtained for a generalized transonic equation and its asymptotic expansion is given. In using difference methods of calculating the flow past an airfoil in the transonic regime a knowledge of the nonlinear field makes it possible to reduce the dimensions of the calculation region (near field) as compared with the region determined by the far field of the linear theory.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 1, pp. 87–91, January–February, 1986.  相似文献

A speckle photographic method, which is sensitive to changes of gradients in fluid density, is applied for analyzing a compressible turbulent air flow with density fluctuations. Spatial correlation coefficients, turbulent length scales, and energy spectra are determined under the assumption of homogeneous isotropic turbulence. The experiments are performed in a shock tube where the flow is passed through a turbulence grid. Measurements are taken before and after the turbulent regime interacts with the normal shock wave reflected from the tube's end wall. Amplification of the turbulence intensity by the shock interaction process is verified quantitatively and is shown to be restricted to the lower wave numbers in the spectrum.A version of this paper was presented at the 11th Symposium on Turbulence, University of Missouri-Rolla, Oct. 17–19, 1988.To Professor Dr.-Ing. In the hydrodynamics of a Newtonian fluid, nonlinear effects are connected only with the presence of convective derivatives in the equations and therefore disappear when plane-parallel flows are considered. Non-Newtonian effects are usually taken into account either phenomenologically in the expression for the stress tensor or by explicitly considering additional degrees of freedom. A theory of the effective viscosity of a magnetic fluid is constructed in [1] by regarding a magnetic fluid as a medium with internal rotation. It was shown that the flow of fluid in a magnetic field is non-Newtonian. Later, many authors (see, for example, [2, 3]) studied one- and two-dimensional flows under the influence of a pressure difference. However, the study was usually limited to continuous and smooth solutions. In the present work, we study the plane-parallel flow of a magnetic fluid in a homogeneous magnetic field under the influence of a longitudinal pressure gradient. We also consider discontinuous solutions. It is shown that for large longitudinal pressure gradients and sufficiently great intensities of the magnetic field, the problem has an infinite number of steady solutions which differ in the number and position of discontinuities of the magnetization and the associated abrupt changes in the velocity profile. Steady regimes and their stability are studied numerically with allowance for weak diffusion of magnetization and internal angular momentum. It is shown that the degeneracy is then lifted; however, in a certain region of parameters several stable steady regimes still exist.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 6, pp. 57–64, November–December, 1984.The authors would like to thank M. The stability of the interface separating two immiscible incompressible fluids of different densities and viscosities is considered in the case of fluids filling a cavity which performs horizontal harmonic oscillations. There exists a simple basic state which corresponds to the unperturbed interface and plane-parallel unsteady counter flows; the properties of this state are examined. A linear stability problem for the interface is formulated and solved for both (a) inviscid and (b) viscous fluids. A transformation is found which reduces the linear stability problem under the inviscid approximation to the Mathieu equation. The parametric resonant regions of instability associated with the intensification of capillary-gravity waves at the interface are examined and the results are compared to those found in the viscous case in a fully numerical investigation.  相似文献

Transonic flow past an airfoil with a small curvature in its midchord region is numerically investigated. The branching of the stationary solutions of the Euler equations is established and attributed to flow instability at certain angles of attack and freestream Mach numbers. The dependence of the lift coefficient on these parameters is studied.  相似文献

The results are given of numerical simulation of convection in Couette and Poiseuille flow for stationary (T*/t = 0) and uniformly increasing (T*/t = = const) mean temperature of the convective layer. Numerical experiments were made for air (Prandtl number Pr = 0.7) in the range of Rayleigh numbers 2 000 Ra 44 000. The results confirm the conclusion drawn in earlier studies that at slightly supercritical Ra the dominant forms in the convection are cylindrical rolls with helical circulation. The rolls are oriented along the direction of the flow and are stationary formations. When a certain value of Ra, which depends on the vertical distribution of the temperature and velocity, is reached, the roll structure is deformed by transverse perturbations. All the considered flow forms have a stabilizing influence on the transverse modes, occurring at larger Rayleigh numbers than is the case for convection in a fluid at rest. The perturbations are displaced at a phase velocity close to the mean velocity of the undisturbed flow. In the considered range of Rayleigh numbers, a shear flow does not have an appreciable influence on the heat transfer, although there is a certain tendency for the Nusselt number to be larger in a shear flow.Translated from Izvestiya Akademii Nauk SSSR, Mekhanika Zhidkosti i Gaza, No. 3, pp. 127–135, May–June, 1979.We thank N. Steady 2D Euler flow computations have been performed for a wind tunnel section, designed for research on transonic shock wave–boundary layer interaction. For the discretization of the steady Euler equations, an upwind finite volume technique has been applied. The solution method used is collective, symmetric point Gauss–Seidel relaxation, accelerated by non-linear multigrid. Initial finest grid solutions have been obtained by nested iteration. Automatic grid adaptation has been applied for obtaining sharp shocks. An indication is given of the mathematical quality of four different boundary conditions for the outlet flow. Two transonic flow solutions with shock are presented: a choked and a non-choked flow. Both flow solutions show good shock capturing. A comparison is made with experimental results.  相似文献

Formation of multiple shocklets in a transonic diffuser flow   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Multiple shocklets are frequently generated in transonic diffuser flows. The present paper investigates the formation of these shocklets with a high-speed CCD camera combined with the schlieren method. It is observed that compression waves steepen while propagating upstream, and eventually become new shock waves. The ordinary shock wave is found to move upstream beyond the nozzle throat or to disappear while moving downstream depending on the pressure ratio across the nozzle. This phenomenon is also analyzed with the one-dimensional Euler equations by assuming a pressure disturbance given by the sine function at the channel exit. The calculated results are found to reproduce quite well the experimental behavior of the shocklets. The effect of the frequency of disturbance is also studied numerically, and it is shown that the multiple shocklet pattern appears when the amplitude of disturbance is not large and the diverging part of the channel downstream of the ordinary shock wave is long. The transonic unsteady flow of a gas through a cascade of thin, slightly curved plates is quite complex and has received little study. The main difficulties are associated with the nonlinear dependence of the aerodynamic characteristics on the plate thickness. In [1] it is shown that, for a single thin plate performing high-frequency oscillations in a transonic gas stream, the variation of the unsteady aerodynamic characteristics with plate thickness may be neglected. For a plate cascade, the flow pattern is complicated by the aerodynamic interference between the plates, which may depend significantly on their shape. A solution of the problem of transonic flow past a cascade without account for the plate thickness has been obtained by Hamamoto [2].The objective of the present study is the clarification of the dependence of the aerodynamic characteristics of a plate cascade on plate thickness in transonic unsteady flow regimes. The nonlinear equation for the velocity potential is linearized under the assumption that the motionless plate causes significantly greater disturbances in the stream than those due to the oscillations. A similar linearization was carried out for a single plate in [3]. The aerodynamic interference between the plates is determined by the method presented in [4]. As an example, the aerodynamic forces acting on a plate oscillating in a duct and in a free jet are calculated.  相似文献

Summary A boundary integral equation method is proposed for approximate numerical and exact analytical solutions to fully developed incompressible laminar flow in straight ducts of multiply or simply connected cross-section. It is based on a direct reduction of the problem to the solution of a singular integral equation for the vorticity field in the cross section of the duct. For the numerical solution of the singular integral equation, a simple discretization of it along the cross-section boundary is used. It leads to satisfactory rapid convergency and to accurate results. The concept of hydrodynamic moment of inertia is introduced in order to easily calculate the flow rate, the main velocity, and the fRe-factor. As an example, the exact analytical and, comparatively, the approximate numerical solution of the problem of a circular pipe with two circular rods are presented. In the literature, this is the first non-trivial exact analytical solution of the problem for triply connected cross section domains. The solution to the Saint-Venant torsion problem, as a special case of the laminar duct-flow problem, is herein entirely incorporated.  相似文献
