The following questions are considered: (i) that of what quasielastic-knockout reactions are; (ii) that of what experience has been gained in measuring, in various channels, the momentum distributions and spectroscopic factors of nucleons and clusters in nuclei and of electrons in atoms, molecules, and solid-state bodies; (iii) that of how it is possible to introduce the concept of quasielastic knockout in the theory of meson-electroproduction processes p(e, em)B at beam energies of a few GeV and at moderate values of the square of the virtual-photon 4-momentum, Q 2 = 2–4 (GeV/c)2; and (iv) that of how the momentum distributions of mesons in various channels of virtual proton decay, pB + π, pB + ρ, and pY + K, are predicted on the basis of the microscopic model of a fluctuation of the QCD vacuum in a nucleon. Proposals for relevant experiments are formulated. It is indicated that quasielastic-knockout processes like (e, eπ) provide the best way to study the problem of a scalar pion condensate in nuclei. In conclusion, it is emphasized that quasielastic processes 2H(e, ep)B involving various spectator baryons B are of great value for determining the composition of multiquark configurations in nucleon-nucleon systems.  相似文献

It was shown that the contribution of diagrams with electron-positron vacuum excitation in a strong magnetic field B ? B 0 = m 2/e = 4.41 × 1013 G in the Compton mechanism of axion production γeae at temperatures on the order of the axion mass exceeds the contribution of the “simple” Compton diagram and the contribution of the neutrino production γe → (ν\(\bar \nu \))e to the radiation power by many orders of magnitude. The conclusion is made on the probable axionic nature of the cold hidden mass of the Universe.  相似文献

The works dealing with the theory of e+e pair production from vacuum under the action of highintensity laser radiation are reviewed. The following problems are discussed: pair production in a constant electric field E and time-variable homogeneous field E(t); the dependence of the number of produced pairs \({N_{{e^ + }{e^ - }}}\) on the shape of a laser pulse (dynamic Schwinger effect); and a realistic three-dimensional model of a focused laser pulse, which is based on exact solution of Maxwell’s equations and contains parameters such as focal spot radius R, diffraction length L, focusing parameter Δ, pulse duration τ, and pulse shape. This model is used to calculate \({N_{{e^ + }{e^ - }}}\) for both a single laser pulse (n = 1) and several (n ≥ 2) coherent pulses with a fixed total energy that simultaneously “collide” in a laser focus. It is shown that, at n ? 1, the number of pairs increases by several orders of magnitude as compared to the case of a single pulse. The screening of a laser field by the vapors that are generated in vacuum, its “depletion,” and the limiting fields to be achieved in laser experiments are considered. The relation between pair production, the problem of a quantum frequency-variable oscillator, and the theory of groups SU(1, 1) and SU(2) is discussed. The relativistic version of the imaginary time method is used in calculations. In terms of this version, a relativistic theory of tunneling is developed and the Keldysh theory is generalized to the case of ionization of relativistic bound systems, namely, atoms and ions. The ionization rate of a hydrogen-like ion with a charge 1 ≤ Z ≤ 92 is calculated as a function of laser radiation intensity (F and ellipticity ρ.  相似文献

Higher orders in perturbation theory can be calculated by the Lipatov method [1]. For most field theories, the Lipatov asymptotics has the functional form ca N Γ(N+b (N is the perturbation theory order); relative corrections to this asymptotics have the form of a power series in 1/N. The coefficients of higher order terms of this series can be calculated using a procedure analogous to the Lipatov approach and are determined by the second instanton in the field theory in question. These coefficients are calculated quantitatively for the n-component ?4 theory under the assumption that the second instanton is (i) a combination of elementary instantons and (ii) a spherically asymmetric localized function. A technique of two-instanton computations, as well as the method for integrating over rotations of an asymmetric instanton in the coordinate state, is developed.  相似文献

New virial relations for three-and four-particle atomic-molecular systems are proposed. Using operators of extension or squeezing of interparticle distances, it is shown that, for all pairs of j and k particles in S states of these systems, the following partial virial relations are valid: 〈2T jk 〉+〈 V jk 〉=0, where 〈V jk 〉 is the average Coulomb interaction energy for a pair of particles and 〈T jk 〉 is a part of the average kinetic energy of the system. There are three and six such relations for three-and four-particle systems, respectively. The conventional virial theorem (〈 2T〉+〈V〉=0) for the average total kinetic and potential energies of the system (〈 T〉 and 〈V〉, respectively) corresponds to the summation of partial virial relations over all pairs of particles. It is shown by an example of variational calculations of the helium atom 4He2+ e ? e ? and the helium muon-electron mesoatom 4He2+μ? e ? that partial virial relations are a highly sensitive indicator of the accuracy of wave functions.  相似文献

Within theminimal supersymmetric standardmodel, the amplitudes and total cross sections for the processes e + e ?hh, e + e ?hH, e + e ?HH, and e + e ?AA are calculated in the first order of perturbation theory with allowance for a complete set of one-loop diagrams in the m e → 0 approximation. Analytic expressions are obtained for the quantities under consideration; numerical results are presented in a graphical form. It is shown that the cross section for the process e + e ?hh is larger than those for the other processes (and is on the same order of magnitude as the cross section for the corresponding processes in the Standard Model). In the case of the collision energy equal to √s = 500 GeV, an integrated luminosity in the region ∫ ? ≥ 500 fb?1, and a longitudinal polarization of the e + e ? beams used, 520, 320, and 300 production events are possible in the processes e + e ?hh (at M h = 115 GeV), e + e ?HH, and e + e ?AA (at M H,A = 120 GeV), respectively. Even at M H,A ≈ 500 GeV and √s = 1.5 TeV, not less than 200 events for each of the processes can be accumulated. The cross section for the process e + e ?hH is small (about 10?2 fb), which complicates the detection of the sought signal significantly.  相似文献

Experimental data obtained by the BELLE Collaboration for inclusive J/ψ production in the processes e+e?J/ψ + gg and e+e?J/ψ + cc are discussed. These data are compared with the predictions of perturbative QCD that were obtained by two methods, that which employs information about the J/ψ wave function and that which relies on the hypothesis of quark-hadron duality exclusively. Both computational methods yield results that disagree with the experimental data considerably. The dependence of the cross section for the process e+e?J/ψ + gg on the effective gluon mass is studied. The cross section for the production of doubly charmed baryons Ξ cc * is estimated.  相似文献

A new method is proposed for calculating amplitudes of processes involving spin-1/2 fermions. The method is based on the use of the isotropic-vierbein vectors in Minkowski space and the basis spinors associated with them. The amplitudes for the electron-positron interaction processes e?e+ff and e?e+W?W+ and the amplitude for one of the possible diagrams for the process e+e?e+e?e+e?e+e? are calculated in order to test and illustrate the potential of the method.  相似文献

The correlator of singlet axial-vector and vector currents in the external electromagnetic field is studied within the instanton liquid model of the QCD vacuum. In the chiral limit, we calculate the longitudinal w L (0) and transversal w T (0) , with respect to the axial-vector index, invariant amplitudes at an arbitrary spacelike momentum transfer q. It is demonstrated how the anomalous longitudinal part of the correlator is renormalized at low momenta due to the presence of the U A (1) anomaly.  相似文献

The effect of Higgs bosons on the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon is considered within the model that is based on the SU(2)L×SU(2)R×U(1)B–L gauge group and which involves a bidoublet and two triplets of Higgs fields (left-right model). For the Yukawa coupling constants and the masses of Higgs bosons, the regions are found where the model leads to agreement with experimental results obtained at the Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL) for the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon. In order to explore corollaries from the constraints obtained for the parameters of the Higgs sector, the processes e+e?μ+μ?, τ+τ? and μ+μ?μ+μ?, τ+τ? are considered both within the left-right model and within the model involving two Higgs doublets (two-Higgs-doublet model). It is shown that, if the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson does indeed lie in the range 3.1–10 GeV, as is inferred from the condition requiring the consistency of the two-Higgs-doublet model with the data of the BNL experiment, this Higgs boson may be observed as a resonance peak at currently operating e+e? colliders (VEPP-4M, CESR, KEKB, PEP-II, and SLC). In order to implement this program, however, it is necessary to reduce considerably the scatter of energy in the e+ and e? beams used, since the decay width of the lightest neutral Higgs boson is extremely small at such mass values. It is demonstrated that, in the case of the left-right model, for which the mass of the lightest neutral Higgs boson is not less than 115 GeV, the resonance peak associated with it may be detected at a muon collider.  相似文献

The potential of experiments at e + e ? colliders to search for a signal of a new pseudoscalar Higgs boson and to study its CP properties is analyzed. A new Higgs boson coupling to the b quark and τ lepton, which is parameterized in a model-independent way as m b /v(a + iγ5 b), is chosen to be an indicator of its CP nature. We study the e + e ? → τ+τ?vv, e + e ?b \(\bar b\)vv, and e + e ?e + e ? b \(\bar b\) processes highly sensitive to anomalous Higgs boson couplings due to the dominant contributions from the vector boson fusion processes W*W* → H and Z*Z* → H in the central region. It is shown that the study of polarization of particles in the final state could help to separate the contributions from the scalar and pseudoscalar Higgs bosons. For instance, the consideration of the cascade decays of τ leptons in the e + e ? → τ+τ?vv process allows one to determine reliably the CP state of the Higgs boson as well as the value and the sign of the b parameter. As a result of our analysis, we develop a search strategy for a signal of a new pseudoscalar Higgs boson in future experiments at linear e + e ? colliders, which will allow one to understand the CP nature of the Higgs boson and set the bounds on its couplings to fermions.  相似文献

A method is developed for discriminating between e+e?e+e? and e+e? → π+π? events in the center-of-mass (cms) energy range of 0.5 to 1.0 GeV by energy deposition in the electromagnetic calorimeter of the SND detector using a machine learning algorithm. Identification efficiencies for e+e?e+e? and e+e? → π+π? events are 99.6 and 99.8%, respectively.  相似文献

Attention is paid to the production mechanisms of light scalars that reveal their nature. We reveal the chiral shielding of the σ(600) meson. We show that the kaon loop mechanism of the ? radiative decays, ratified by experiment, is four-quark transition and points to the four-quark nature of light scalars. We show also that the light scalars are produced in the two photon collisions via four-quark transitions in contrast to the classic P wave tensor qq? mesons that are produced via two-quark transitions γγ → qq?. We study the mechanism of production of the light scalar mesons in the D s + → π+π? e +ν decays: D s + ss?e +ν → [σ(600) + f 0(980)]e +ν → π+π? e +ν, and compare it with the mechanism of production of the light pseudoscalar mesons in the D s + → (η/η′)e +ν decays: D s + ss?e +ν → (η/η′)e +ν. As a result we find support to four-quark nature of light scalars. In the end, we outline the future research program.  相似文献

Results obtained by measuring, in experiments at the VEPP-2M e + e ? collider with the CMD-2 and SND detectors at the Novosibirsk Institute of Nuclear Physics, cross sections for e + e ?hadrons annihilation processes at energies in the range 360 ≤ √s ≤ 1380 MeV are surveyed. The measured cross sections and the vector-meson parameters deduced from an analysis of these cross sections are presented. The cross section for the process e + e ?π + π ? is compared with the spectral function for the decay τ ?π ? π 0 ν τ.  相似文献

We have investigated the photoproduction of triplets on free electrons, γee+ee, in which dark photon A′ can be formed as an intermediate state with subsequent decay into an e+e pair. This effect appears as a result of the so-called kinetic mixing and is characterized by the small parameter describing the intensity of the interaction of the dark photon with charged Standard Model (SM) particles in terms of electric charge e. The search for a manifestation of A′ in this process is advantageous since the background to the A′ signal is purely electrodynamic and, hence, can be calculated with the required accuracy. We calculate this background taking into account the identity of final electrons. As regards A′, its contribution is taken into account only in Compton-type diagrams (of virtual Compton scattering) in which a virtual dark photon is a time-like particle and its propagator has the form of a Breit–Wigner resonance. It is only in the vicinity of resonance that A′ can be manifested. We calculate the invariant mass distribution of both e+e pairs formed in the process and analyze the kinematic region in which relatively small squares of momenta transferred from the target electron to the formed electrons are excluded. In these conditions, the contribution to the differential cross section from Compton-type diagrams is not suppressed relative to the contribution of the remaining (Borsellino) diagrams. A number of limitations on parameter depending on the dark photon mass and the statistics (number) of events are obtained for a special method of gathering events in which the invariant mass of one e+e pair remains fixed and of the other pair is scanned.  相似文献

A parameterization of the amplitude of the two-photon production of 1++ and 1?+ vector resonances V in the e + e ?e + e ? V reaction has been obtained. The differential (in momentum transfer) scattering cross section dσ/dQ 2 has been found for this reaction in the equivalent-photon approximation. The result obtained is model-independent.  相似文献

Effects of CP and T invariance violation are studied in the most general interaction of the Higgs boson with the intermediate vector W ± and Z bosons. Various angular distributions of the cascade decay Φ → W + W ?/ZZ → 4 of fermions in the transversity and helicity systems are calculated, and asymmetries are constructed and evaluated. It is shown that studying the azimuthal angle distribution of the process Φ → ZZ → (e ? e +)(μ?μ+) in the transversity system is effective for measuring the spatial parity of the Higgs boson.  相似文献

Familon emission from a dense magnetized plasma in the processes e?e?φ and e?μ?φ is investigated. The contribution of these processes to the energy losses of a supernova remnant is calculated. It is shown that, at a late stage of the cooling of a supernova remnant, the energy loss of a plasma via familon emission may become commensurate with the loss via neutrino emission. It is found that, because of asymmetry of familon emission in the process e?gm?φ, there arises a force acting on the plasma.  相似文献

For the case of longitudinally polarized primary beams, effects are investigated that are induced by four-fermion contact interactions in the process e+e?e+e? occurring at linear electron-positron colliders of energy in the range \(\sqrt s = 0.5 - 1 TeV\). Model-independent constraints on the parameters of four-fermion contact interactions are obtained. It is shown that the sensitivity of the Bhabha process to the parameter ΛLR is considerably higher than the sensitivity of the leptonic process e+e?μ+μ?; at the same time, the sensitivities of these processes to the parameters ΛRR and ΛLL are commensurate.  相似文献

We study the three body lepton flavor violating (LFV) decays μ ?e ? e + e ?, \(\tau^{-} \to l_{i}^{-} l_{j}^{+} l_{j}^{-}\) and the semileptonic decay τμφ in the flavor changing neutral current (FCNC) mediated Z boson model. We also calculate the branching ratios for LFV leptonic B decays, B d,s μe, B d,s τe, B d,s τμ and the conversion of muon to electron in Ti nucleus. The new physics parameter space is constrained by using the experimental limits on μ ?e ? e + e ? and τ ?μ ? μ + μ ?. We find that the branching ratios for τeee and τμφ processes could be as large as \({\sim}{\mathcal{O}}(10^{-8})\) and \(\mathrm{Br}(B_{d,s} \to \tau \mu,~ \tau e) \sim {\mathcal{O}}(10^{-10})\). For other LFV B decays the branching ratios are found to be too small to be observed in the near future.  相似文献
