The inside back cover picture shows the controllable skeleton rearrangement of 3‐substituted cyclobutanones under basic conditions. In this paper, a series of 3‐substituted cyclobutanones with different Z group underwent skeleton rearrangement with the treatment of K3PO4 and 18‐crown‐6 ether. Various lactones, lactams and acids were afforded in this concise reaction. More interestingly, an eight‐membered ring was produced with pentaflurophenyl group as a good leaving group. Development of efficient catalytic asymmetric synthesis of chiral seven‐membered nitrogen‐containing heterocycles has been great important because their occurrence in a great number of pharmaceuticals and natural compounds. This work developed a Pd‐catalyzed asymmetric aromative [4+3]‐cyclization reaction of amino‐trimethylenemethanes (TMM, 1,3‐dipoles) with fused 1‐azadienes, which enables access to synthetically important and biologically active benzofuran fused azepines and indeno‐azepines in excellent efficiency and stereoselectivity (up to 95% yield, 99% ee, >19 : 1 dr). A copper‐catalyzed aerobic oxidative ring expansion reaction of isatins with 1,2,3,4‐tetrahydroisoquinoline for the synthesis of tetracyclic quinazolinones has been developed. The capacity of the resultant 5H‐isoquinolino[1,2‐b]quinazolin‐8(6H)‐one for a range of palladium‐catalyzed directing C—H activation has been further demonstrated, thus giving a broader access to diverse tetracyclic quinazolinones. The development of chiral boron Lewis acids is highly essential for the chemistry of frustrated Lewis pairs. Three protocols including hydroboration, substitution and in situ hydroboration, have been successfully established to access the chiral boron Lewis acids. Modulating charge transfer by constructing high-quality interfacial contacts and charge transfer channel is crucial for an efficient photocatalyst. In this work, a novel PCN/Cu3P nanosheet with intimate 2D/2D heterojunction was prepared via in-situ phosphorization. Boosted photocatalytic H2 evolution was achieved due to the smooth charge transfer in the 2D/2D heterojunction. More details are discussed in the article by Liu et al. on page 173—180.

The inside back cover picture depicts the inverse-electron-demand Diels–Alder reactions of 2-pyrones with various readily available dihydropyrroles and dihydrofurans. By the catalysis of lanthanide salts, these reactions occur with high yields and enantioselectivities, thus providing a step-economical synthetic platform for densely functionalized cis-hydroindoles and cis-hydrobenzofurans. The synthetic utility of this approach is demonstrated by the concise synthesis of (–)-α-lycorane and (–)-lycorine alkaloids. More details are discussed in the article by Cai et al. on page 21—26.

The bifunctional roles of CH3COO– (complexation effect and decreasing temperature of PVP complete decomposition) are utilized to synthesize electrospun LaCoO3 perovskites at a low‐temperature 400 °C. Chiral structure is very common in nature. especially, the chiral materials could rotate the polarized light. Light‐matter interaction is very important for process of nature. Inorganic nanomaterials with unique chiral configuration and suitable size have shown exquisitely chiral recognition and selective catalysis function, similar to natural restriction endonuclease. There are no unbridgeable gulf between organic molecules and inorganic materials. The physical and chemical mechanisms involved in chiral phenomenon are very helpful to exploit novel application of chiral materials in biological sensing, imaging, gene editing and information communications. The inside cover picture shows a dehydrative glycosylation mediated by 2‐aryl‐1,3‐dithiane 1‐oxides. Upon activation of the sulfoxide of the reagent with Tf2O, a temporary leaving group is installed on 1‐OH sugar, which undergoes a comproportionation reaction to deliver the oxocarbenium ion, thus facilitates the glycosylation reaction. In the picture, the ring formed by two great egrets represents the important cyclic 1,3‐dithiane 1‐oxides dehydrative reagent. The inside cover picture shows a simple and efficient method for the synthesis of chiral β‐lactams via Pd(II)‐catalyzed intramolecular enantioselective amination of methylene C(sp3)?H bonds. The magical combination of 2‐pyridinylisopropyl (PIP) auxiliary and 3,3’‐substituted BINOL‐type ligands proves to be a general solution for the asymmetric functionalization of unbiased methylene C(sp3)?H bonds. Reactions of homoleptic rare‐earth aryloxides based Lewis pairs with organic azides were investigated, which gave either bimetallic rare‐earth azide complexes in an end‐to‐end fashion or FLP‐type 1,1‐addition product depending on the nature of azide reagents. The function of the type II peptidyl carrier protein (PCP) ColA1a in collismycin (COL) biosynthesis was characterized in this study. ColA1a was involved in the selection and loading of picolinic acid (PA), instead of normal amino acid substrates, as the origin of ring B in COLs. The 2.1 Å crystal structure of ColA1a was solved. Primary and tertiary structural comparison of ColA1a with other PCPs revealed the structural basis for their typical α‐helical bundles. A hollow polydopamine/Zn (HPDA/Zn) ultrasound contrast agent is exploited.
