The feasibility for mass measurements of supersymmetric particles from minimal gauge mediated models in the ATLAS detector at the large hadron collider is studied using parameterized simulations. The covered models are characterized by having the supersymmetric tau as the only next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle (NLSP). Given independent measurements of the lightest Higgs mass and the NLSP lifetime, a sufficient number of supersymmetric particle mass measurements are performed such that all underlying model parameters are constrained.  相似文献

By investigating the space of parameters of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, it is shown that an observation of at least one supersymmetric particle in high-energy experiments would increase considerably the importance of highly sensitive low-energy experiments aimed at detecting cold-dark-matter particles assumed to be neutralinos, the lightest supersymmetric particles, which are stable. On the other hand, nonobservation of direct signals from dark matter in such experiments can have a pronounced effect on the strategy of high-energy searches for the light charged Higgs boson.  相似文献

It is shown that two different supersymmetric extensions of the Harry Dym equation lead to two different negative hierarchies of the supersymmetric integrable equations. While the first one yields the known even supersymmetric Hunter-Saxton equation, the second one is a new odd supersymmetric Hunter-Saxton equation. It is further proved that these two supersymmetric extensions of the Hunter-Saxton equation are reciprocally transformed to two different supersymmetric extensions of the Liouville equation.  相似文献

Events with an isolated high pT lepton, a hadron jet and missing energy as observed in the H1 experiment at HERA, are potentially associated with R-parity violation in supersymmetric theories. However, stringent kinematic constraints must be fulfilled if the production of supersymmetric particles in R-parity violating scenarios were the correct path for explaining these puzzling events. A reference point ℝ/   is specified for which these constraints are illustrated and implications of the supersymmetric interpretation for new classes of multi-lepton events are indicated.  相似文献

We discuss some issues related to D(2p)–D0-branes with background magnetic fluxes, respectively, in a T-dual picture, Dp–Dp-branes at angles. In particular, we describe the nature of the supersymmetric bound states appearing after tachyon condensation. We present a very elementary derivation of the conditions to be satisfied by such general supersymmetric gauge configurations, which are simply related by T-duality to the conditions for supersymmetric p-cycles in .  相似文献

Sufficient conditions are proven for 't Hooft's consistency conditions to hold at points in the moduli space of supersymmetric gauge theories. Known results for anomaly matching in supersymmetric QCD are rederived as a sample application of the results. The results can be used to show that the anomaly matching conditions hold for s-confining theories.  相似文献

For a long time, the minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) with light masses for the supersymmetric states was considered as the most natural extension of the Standard Model of particle physics. Consequently, a valid approximation was to match the MSSM to the precision measurement directly at the electroweak scale. This approach was also utilized by all dedicated spectrum generators for the MSSM. However, the higher the supersymmetric (SUSY) scale is, the bigger the uncertainties which are introduced by this matching. We point out important consequences of a two-scale matching, where the running parameters within the SM are calculated at \(M_Z\) and evaluated up to the SUSY scale, where they are matched to the full model. We show the impact on gauge coupling unification as well as the SUSY mass spectrum. Also the Higgs mass prediction for large supersymmetric masses has been improved by performing the calculation within an effective SM. The approach presented here is now also available in the spectrum generator SPheno. Moreover, also SARAH was extended accordingly and gives the possibility to study these effects now in many different supersymmetric models.  相似文献

We investigate the possibility of transforming supersymmetric theories into pure;y fermionic or bosonic forms. The supersymmetric sine-Gordon lagrangian is rewritten in a purely fermionic form, and the Fermi equivalent of the original supersymmetry transformation is derived. This transformation represents an invariance only at the quantum level, when the effects of the chiral anomaly have been taken into account. When supersymmetric theories are written in purely bosonic forms, a non-local bosonic transformation takes place of the supersymmetry transformation. In both cases the supersymmetry algebra, as realized on the fields, is lost.  相似文献

We have conducted a search for globally supersymmetric preon models with gauged colour-flavour symmetries. Theories with both two- and three-preon composites, and colour-flavour groups from E6 down to the standard model, are examined under the following conditions: asymptotically-free metacolour, anomaly-free gauged symmetries, and Pauli principle obeyed. It is found that there are no models with three or more supersymmetric families. If supersymmetry is broken, one model with four families emerges. The purely fermionic preon theories can also be considered as the light sector of a chiral supersymmetric theory, with supersymmetry breaking at the preon level.  相似文献

A new N=1N=1 supersymmetric Harry Dym equation is constructed by applying supersymmetric reciprocal transformation to a trivial supersymmetric Harry Dym equation, and its recursion operator and Lax formulation are also obtained. Within the framework of symmetry approach, a class of 3rd order supersymmetric equations of Harry Dym type are considered. In addition to five known integrable equations, a new supersymmetric equation, admitting 5th order generalized symmetry, is shown to be linearizable through supersymmetric reciprocal transformation. Furthermore, its Lax representation and recursion operator are given so that the integrability of this new equation is confirmed.  相似文献

The supersymmetric properties of a charged planar Dirac oscillator coupling to a uniform perpendicular magnetic field are studied. We find that there is an N=2 supersymmetric structure in both commutative and noncommutative cases. We construct the generators of the supersymmetric algebras explicitly and show that the generators of the supersymmetric algebras can be mapped onto ones which only contain the left or right-handed chiral phonons by unitary transformations.  相似文献

The spectrum of a supersymmetric quantum mechanics model, whose potential has a steep supersymmetric minimum and a broad non-supersymmetric minimum, is analyzed. With the exception of the supersymmetric ground state, the low-energy spectrum is found to be determined entirely by the non-supersymmetric well. The model is motivated by effective lagrangians proposed for supersymmetric QCD. It is speculated that in an equivalent field theory exhibiting a supersymmetric true vacuum and a non-supersymmetric false vacuum, the false vacuum can play an important rôle in the physics, and that the lowest energy excitations are extended field configurations involving a new mass scale.  相似文献

We review the current state of research on the construction of effective actions in supersymmetric quantum field theory. Special attention is paid to gauge models with extended supersymmetry in the superfield approach. The advantages of formulation of such models in harmonic superspace for the calculation of effective action are emphasized. Manifestly supersymmetric and manifestly gauge-invariant methods for constructing the low-energy effective actions and deriving the corrections to them are considered and the possibilities to obtain the exact solutions are discussed. The calculations of one-loop effective actions in N = 2 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory with hypermultiplets and in N = 4 supersymmetric Yang–Mills theory are analyzed in detail. The relationship between the effective action in supersymmetric quantum field theory and the low-energy limit in superstring theory is discussed.  相似文献

Sleptons, neutralinos and charginos were searched for in the context of scenarios where the lightest supersymmetric particle is the gravitino. It was assumed that the stau is the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle. Data collected with the DELPHI detector at a centre-of-mass energy near 189 GeV were analysed combining the methods developed in previous searches at lower energies. No evidence for the production of these supersymmetric particles was found. Hence, limits were derived at 95% confidence level. The spin of supersymmetric particles can be determined at e+e- colliders unambiguously. This is demonstrated for a characteristic set of non-colored supersymmetric particles – smuons, selectrons, and charginos/neutralinos. The analysis is based on the threshold behavior of the excitation curves for pair production in e+e- collisions, the angular distribution in the production process and decay angular distributions. In the first step we present the observables in the helicity formalism for the supersymmetric particles. Subsequently we confront the results with corresponding analyses of Kaluza–Klein particles in theories of universal extra space dimensions which behave distinctly different from supersymmetric theories. It is shown in the third step that a set of observables can be designed which signal the spin of supersymmetric particles unambiguously without any model assumptions. Finally in the fourth step it is demonstrated that the determination of the spin of supersymmetric particles can be performed experimentally in practice at an e+e- collider.  相似文献

We construct supersymmetric Lorentz violating operators for matter and gauge fields. We show that in the supersymmetric standard model the lowest possible dimension for such operators is five, and therefore they are suppressed by at least one power of an ultraviolet energy scale, providing a possible explanation for the smallness of Lorentz violation and its stability against radiative corrections. Supersymmetric Lorentz noninvariant operators do not lead to modifications of dispersion relations at high energies thereby escaping constraints from astrophysical searches for Lorentz violation.  相似文献

We discuss the superoscillators in thc supersymmetric quantum systems, and give the solution to the system. By making use of the annihilation and creation operators and their q-deformed operators, we also give the q-deformed quantum harmonic oscillator model in the supersymmetric quantum systems. The q-supercoherent states associated with the q-deformed supersymmetric quantum harmonic oscillators are constructed explicitly, and their properties are investigated. The uncertainty relations for q-supercoherent states are discussed as well.  相似文献
