The optimum conditions have been found for the formation of the ternary complexes of iron(III) with Chrome Azurol S (CAS), Eriochrome Cyanine R, and Pyrocatechol Violet in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium (CTA), cetylpyridinium, or tetradecyldimethyl-benzylammonium ions. The pH range of the complex formation is limited mainly by the pertinent hydrolysis constants of the metal ions. The maximum absorbances were obtained for excess R and cationic surfactants, ensuring the formation of complexes with the highest R:Fe molar ratio. The method based on the Fe-CAS-CTA system (ε = 1.32 × 105 liter mol−1 cm−1 at 628 nm) is most sensitive and is recommended for the spectrophotometric determination of iron.  相似文献

A new sensitive spectrophotometric method for titanium determination, based on the ternary Ti-Chrome Azurol S (CAS)-cetyltrimethylammonium (CTA) system, was developed. The molar absorptivity is 7.3 × 104 liters mol?1 cm?1 at λmax = 565 nm. The maximum absorbance is attained in 5 min at pH 1.3 ± 0.1 and at CAS and CTA concentrations of 1.5 × 10?4 and 5 × 10?4M, respectively. Zirconium and hafnium in the presence of ascorbic acid are the only interfering metals. Hydrogen peroxide and EDTA interfere with the titanium determination as well. The proposed method was applied to the determination of titanium (about 1 × 10?2%) in aluminum metal. The method, based on the Ti-Eriochrome Cyanine R-CTA system, is similar to the above method. Among other cationic surfactants, cetylpyridinium chloride (CP) and zephiramine were examined. The color effects when using CP, and especially zephiramine, are worse than in the presence of CTA.  相似文献

Summary

A fourth-derivative spectrophotometric determination of chromium(III) with Eriochrome Cyanine R (ECR) was described. The method was based on measuring the fourth-derivative value (D4) at 545 nm. The experimental and instrumental variables (wavelength range, scan speed, band width and order of derivative) were optimized. Under the optimum conditions, the calibration graph fit the equation d4 A/d4 = 3.75 × 105 [Cr(III)] + 0.003 (r=0.9991) and have a relative standard deviation of 1.19%. The method was valid for concentrations between 20 ng/ml and 80 ng/ml of chromium(III). The molar ratio of the formed complex was 1:2 (M:L). The proposed method was successfully applied to the determination of chromium in steel.  相似文献

The reduction mechanism at a mercury electrode of Eriochrome Cyanine R, in a 0.9 M NaClO4+0.1 M HClO4 supporting electrolyte, has been investigated by several electrochemical techniques. By means of coulometry at constant potential and cyclic voltammetry it was demonstrated that a radical is formed, which suffers disproportionation, after the first electron transfer. The results of the cyclic voltammetric investigation and the impedance measurements evidenced the intrinsic reversible nature of the electron transfers. Apparent irreversible polarographic behaviour is a consequence of the existence of chemical reactions following the electron transfers. The impedance measurements demonstrated the strong adsorption of the Ox and Red form of Eriochrome Cyanine R as well as of the radical formed. On the basis of the experimental data a reduction mechanism is proposed.  相似文献

Sensitive spectrophotometric methods for the determination of iron(III), based on ternary complexes with a triphenylmethane reagent, chrome azurol S (CAS) or eriochrome cyanine R (ECR), and cetyltrimethylammonium (CTA) or cetylpyridinium (CP) ions, are described. For the system Fe—CAS—CTA, the molar absorptivity is 1.35 × 105 l mol-1 cm-1 at 645 nm; for Fe—ECR—CTA it is 1.28 × 105 l mol-1 cm-1 at 635 nm. Maximum absorbance is attained (at about pH 4) when the molar ratio (to iron) or CAS or ECR is about 20 and that of CTA or CP is 60–80. Citrate, tartrate, oxalate and EDTA interfere. Interference by metals (e.g. Be, Al, Ga, In, Sc, Zr, Th) can be eliminated by preliminary extraction of iron(III) as thiocyanate complex. The method was successfully applied to determining traces of iron in analytical-grade sodium hydroxide.  相似文献

Although photometric determination of beryllium is generally quite satisfactory in trace analysis, application to geochemical samples is restricted because of the numerous interfering ions. Introduction of an extraction procedure eliminates the interference of Al and Fe, which occur in high concentrations in most silicate rocks, and enables beryllium to be determined with Eriochrome Cyanine R. Use of the method for analysis of six international geochemical reference samples containing between 1 and 30 ppm beryllium has given satisfactory results (relative standard deviation from 1.6 to 7.8%).  相似文献

We consider the use of cloth matrices from viscose and cotton fibers bearing phenolcarboxylic acids of the triphenylmethane series immobilized by adsorption in chemical test methods of analysis. Chrome Azurol S, Sulfochrome, and Eriochrome Cyanine R were used for immobilization. It was found that the reagents are weakly retained on cellulose matrices. The degree of retention varied from 10 to 60%. It was observed that the reagent complexes of metal ions exhibited enhanced adsorbability on the matrices. Cloths with immobilized Chrome Azurol S were used in the test determination of 0.0005–0.5 mg/L beryllium and 0.0005–1.0 mg/L aluminum. When the reaction products were preconcentrated on the cloth from 100 mL of a test solution, the detection limit was 0.0001 mg/L. Procedures were developed for determining 0.1–100 mg/L aluminum and 0.02–0.6 mg/L beryllium in solutions using cloth test strips encapsulated into a polymeric film. It was demonstrated that Sulfochrome and Eriochrome Cyanine R immobilized on cloths can be used to determine 0.01–1 and 1–1000 mg/L cationic surfactants.  相似文献

Gallium in the presence of surfactants (NTGE and CTA) forms with BPR a violet ternary complexes with λmax at 615 and 625 nm, respectively, with molar absorptivities of 7.0 × 104 and 1.3 × 105 liters mol?1 cm?1. These complexes can be advantageously used for the determination of gallium. The molar ratio of gallium to BPR, which is 1:1 in the binary complex, increases to 1:3 in the ternary complex. The presence of surfactants changes the number of BPR molecules bonded to gallium. This is the main factor in the increase in color intensity. Numerous metals interfere. Gallium can be separated by extraction of gallium from 7 M hydrochloric acid with diisopropyl ether.  相似文献

Summary A new sensitive, spectrophotometric determination of gallium, based on the ternary gallium-Eriochrome Cyanine R-cetyltrimethylammonium system has been developed. At max=588 nm the molar absorptivity is 1.20×105l·mole–1·cm–1. The maximum absorbance is attained in 5 min in the presence of a 10-fold molar ratio of Eriochrome Cyanine R and an approx. 50-fold ratio of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (to Ga). Citrate, EDTA and to a lesser extent tartrate, interfere. Interference by metals can be eliminated by a preliminary extraction of gallium with di-isopropyl ether from 7 M hydrochloric acid in the presence of ascorbic acid as reductant. The results for gallium (at a concentration level of 1×10–4%) in aluminium metal and chloride indicate good precision and accuracy.

Zusammenfassung Ein neues, empfindliches spektrophotometrisches Verfahren zur Galliumbestimmung wurde ausgearbeitet. Es beruht auf der Verwendung des ternären Systems Gallium — EriochromcyaninR — Cetyltrimethylammonium. Bei max=588 nm beträgt die molare Extinktion 1,20·105 1·Mol–1·cm–1. Die maximale Absorption wird innerhalb von 5 min bei Gegenwart der 10fachen molaren Menge EriochromcyaninR und der etwa 50fachen Menge Cetyltrimethylammoniumbromid erreicht. Citrat, ÄDTA und in geringerem Maß Tartrat stören. Störende Wirkung durch Metalle kann durch vorhergehende Extraktion des Galliums mit Diisopropyläther aus 7 M Salzsäure in Gegenwart von Askorbinsäure als Reduktionsmittel vermieden werden. Die Ergebnisse (im Konzentrationsbereich von 10–4% Ga) in metallischem Aluminium und AICI3 sind genau.

The extraction of Catechol Violet, Chrome Azurol S and Eriochrome Cyanine R with chloroform solutions of tri-n-octylamine (TOA), TOA hydrochloride and Aliquat 336 has been investigated. From the extraction isotherms, absorption spectra of the organic phases and dependence of the extraction coefficients on extractant concentration, it was found that the singly-charged anions HL(-) are extracted preferentially, but acidic groups other than sulphonate can also form ion-pairs with alkylammonium cations at higher pH values of the aqueous phase, and at high acidity these dyes can be extracted other than by an anion-exchange reaction. The three dyes (especially Eriochrome Cyanine R and Chrome Azurol S) were strongly extracted with the liquid anion-exchanger used and Aliquat 336 was a better extractant than TOA or TOA hydrochloride. The absorption spectra for the organic phases containing Chrome Azurol S and Eriochrome Cyanine R depended on the extractant used.  相似文献

2-Mercaptobenzamide (MBA) was investigated as a reagent for the extraction of palladium. The palladium complex of MBA was extracted into tributyl phosphate (TBP). The pKa of the ligand was 5.45 with the stability constant of the palladium complex β2=107.1. The composition of the complex in TBP was Pd:MBA:TBP=1:2:2. Addition of sodium chloride accelerated the rate of extraction. Various interfering ions could be masked with EDTA; Ag(I), Au(III), Os(VIII), Se(IV), Te(IV) etc. interfered. The molar absorptivity was 1.59×104 l mol?1 cm?1; 1–35 μg Pd could be determined at pH 6.0.  相似文献

A simple, rapid, and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the trace level determination of beryllium based on the formation of a 1:2 complex with anthralin (1,8-dihydroxyanthrone) as a new reagent is developed. A spectrophotometric method was used to determine the acidity constant and stepwise proton dissociation of the reagent. The experimental conditions for determining beryllium including the influences of pH, reagent concentration and time were evaluated and optimized. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the molar absorptivity of the complex is 0.47 × 104 l mol?1 cm?1 at 545 nm. Calibration graph was linear in the range of 0.04–1.04 μg ml?1 with a detection limit of 0.012 μg ml?1 and a %RSD of 0.43%, for 5 replicate determinations at 0.48 μg ml?1 of Be(II). The interferring effect of some cations and anions was also studied. The method was applied for the determination of beryllium in beryl, silicate rock and alloys. Ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA) was used for masking interfering ions.  相似文献

Antipyrylazo III or diantipyrylazo (3,6-bis(4-antipyrylazo)-4,5-dihydroxy-2, 7-napthalenedisulfonic acid) forms at PH 12.7 a complex Ca2HL with calcium. The logarithmic overall stability constant, 10g β211, is 23.99 ±0.03 (0.1 MNaClO4,25°C).The effective molar absorptivity is 21,500 ±100 l mole-1 cm-1 at 605 nm. The complex can be used for a selective photometric determination of calcium(0.25–3.50μmole) if tri-and tetravalent ions are removed by extraction with cupferron (into chloroform) and transition divalent ions are masked with sodium cyanide. Only strontium (0.5 μmole) and EDTA (0.1 μmole) interfere seriously.  相似文献

The complex formation of iron(III) with the trisodium salt of 5-[α-(3-carboxy-5-methyl-4-oxo-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-ylidene)-2-sulfobenzyl]-3-methylsalicylic acid (eriochrome cyanine R) was studied by spectrophotometry. The pure tetrabasic acid of the ligand (H4ER) was prepared and used in the investigation. In the pH range 2.7–4.2 three complexes were detected: a ring-formed dimer Fe2(ER)2, Fe2(ER) and Fe(ER) ; the absolute stability constants (at an ionic strength of 0.1 M and at room temperature (20 ± 3°)) were log k = 37.9, log k = 22.5 and log k = 17.9, respectively.  相似文献

The optimum conditions for the formation of ternary lead complexes with Pyrocatechol Violet and cationic surfactants have been evaluated. The examined ternary systems form a basis for simple and sensitive spectrophotometric methods for lead (ε = 4.20−5.06 × 104 liters · mol−1 · cm−1). Using the most sensitive method, lead content in zinc powder has been determined. Lead does not form ternary complexes with the other triphenylmethane reagents, Chrome Azurol S and Eriochrome Cyanine R, in the presence of cationic surfactants because of its too “soft” properties.  相似文献

The reactivities of [trans-R2MoO(NNPhR′)(o-phen)], R=R′=Me (1); R=Me, R′=Ph (2); R=Ph, R′=Me (3); R=R′=Ph (4), toward (i) neutral 1,1-disubstituted hydrazines, R′PhNNH2 and (ii) 1,1-disubstituted hydrazine hydrochlorides, R′PhNNH2·HCl, R′=Me, Ph, were studied in acetonitrile. In the first case, no condensation reaction of the free oxo group was observed under different experimental conditions. In the second case, using a 1:1 precursor/hydrazine hydrochloride molar ratio, the oxo group was also unreactive, instead one methyl or phenyl group bonded to molybdenum was displaced as methane or benzene and was subsequently substituted by one chloride ligand affording complexes formulated as [trans-RClMoO(NNPhR′)(o-phen)], R=R′=Me (5); R=Me, R′=Ph (6); R=Ph, R′=Me, (7)·MeCN; R=R′=Ph, (8)·MeCN. Finally, when a 1:2 precursor/hydrazine hydrochloride molar ratio was used, both methyl and phenyl groups were substituted affording complexes formulated as [trans-Cl2MoO(NNPhR′)(o-phen)], R′=Me (9), R=Ph (10). The new organometallic compounds were characterised by IR, UV–Vis and 1H NMR spectroscopy while the crystal and molecular structure of 6 was determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.  相似文献

The catalytic activity of the titanium(IV) dichloride complex with the (4R,5R)-2,2-dimethyl-1,3-dioxolane-4,5-bis(perfluorophenyldimethanol) ligand in the presence of a cocatalyst (polymethylaluminoxane, triethylaluminum, or triisobutylaluminum) in the polymerization of higher α-olefins (1-hexene, 1-octene, 1-decene) is investigated. It is shown that, depending on the types of cocatalyst and monomer and the molar ratio of components of the catalytic system, high- or ultrahigh-molecular-mass poly(α-olefins) with M w = (4 × 105)?(3 × 106) can be prepared. The extraction-spectrophotometric determination of chromium(III) with 4-(2-pyridylazo)-resorcinol (PAR) is described. PAR(H2R) forms a 1:3 complex with chromium(III) in a boiling acetate buffer solution at pH 5. The complex forms an ion-association compound with tetradecyldimethylbenzylammonium ion (TDBA+):Cr(R)(HR)2--TDBA+ which can be extracted into chloroform, the molar absorptivity being 4.7 ·104 at 540 nm. If EDTA is added as a masking agent after the Cr(HR)3 has been formed, only iron, cobalt and nickel interfere seriously, and the method can be made specific for chromium by a preliminary extraction of these metals with cupferron. The sensitivity of the method is seven times higher than that of the diphenylcarbazide method.  相似文献

Chromal blue G in the presence of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride is proposed for the spectrophotometric determination of microgram amounts of beryllium. The sensitivity of color reaction between beryllium and chromai blue G has been greatly increased by the sensitizing action of cetyltrimethylammonium chloride (626nm = 93,000). Beer's law is obeyed over the range 0.012–0.12 ppm of beryllium. Full color development occurs in 20 min at pH 5.5 and at 626 nm. The mole ratio of beryllium and chromai blue G in the complex is estimated to be 1:2. The proposed method is very sensitive and selective for determination of beryllium when EDTA is used as a masking agent.  相似文献
