A hadron and string cascade model, JPCIAE, together with the corresponding Monte Carlo event generator, has been employed in this paper to investigate further the charge fluctuations in Au+Au collisions at Snn = 130 GeV. The default JPCIAE calculations are in good agreement with PHENIX and STAR data. We found that the thermal predictions for the π gas, the resonance π gas and quark matter deviate, respectively, from the corresponding dynamical simulations from the JPCIAE model. The discrepancies were also found between the π charge fluctuations and the charge fluctuations of all species of hadrons. However the charge fluctuations for "π from ρ and ω decay" and for all the hadrons from resonance decay are close to each other, indicating the correlation between positively and negatively charged hadrons is not sensitive to the species of hadrons. This work shows further that it is questionable to use the charge fluctuations as a signature of QGP.  相似文献

We propose a measurement of leading neutrons spectra at LHC in order to extract inclusive π + p and π + π + cross-sections with high p T jets production. The cross-sections for these processes are simulated with the use of parton distributions in hadrons. In this work we estimate the possibility to extract parton distributions in the pion from the data on these cross-sections and also search for signatures of fundamental differences in the pion and proton structure.  相似文献

A review of meson emission in heavy-ion collisions at incident energies from SIS up to collider energies is presented. A statistical model assuming chemical equilibrium and local strangeness conservation (i.e. strangeness conservation per collision) explains most of the observed features, e.g. the different centrality dependences of pions and kaons. Furthermore, the independence of theK + toK - ratio on the number of participating nucleons observed between SIS and relativistic heavy-ion collider (RHIC) is consistent with this model. The observed maximum in theK ++ excitation function is also seen in the ratio of strange to non-strange particle production. The appearance of this maximum around 30 A.GeV is due to the energy dependence of the chemical freeze-out parametersT and μB.  相似文献

We have constructed some Regge trajectories for mesons and baryons by taking the 70 MeV spinless mass quanta as the ultimate building block for the light hadrons. In order to make masses integral multiples of seventy, small changes in masses has been made with due explanation. We have shown how a linear relationship between J and M 2 is maintained by considering quantized hadron masses, which is a direct consequence of the string model and gives a strong clue for quark confinement. It has also been established that mesons and baryons have different slopes and the slopes of baryons is less than the slope of the mesons. This clearly defies the concept of universality of slopes (α ≈ 1.1 GeV2) of hadrons, which can only be achieved if the strings joining the quarks have constant string tension α = 1/(2πσ) (where σ is the string tension).  相似文献

Properties of a scalar a meson are investigated in the two-flavor Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model with the Polyakov loop (PNJL). Model analysis of the phase diagram of strong interacting matter is performed. The temperature dependence of the σ → ππ decay width is studied at the zero chemical potential and near the critical end point. The calculated strong coupling constant g σππ and the decay width are compared with available experimental data and other model results. Nonthermal enhancement of the total decay width is noted for the σ meson near the critical end point when the condition m σ ≥ 2m π is broken.  相似文献

We consider a quantum chromodynamics (QCD)-hadron interaction model in which the gluon density is low in the initial state wave function in rapidity space and real hadrons are produced from color string decay. In this model, the behavior of the total cross sections of pp, p$ \bar p $ \bar p , π± p, K ± p, γp, and γγ interactions is well described. The value of the proton-proton total cross section under the energy of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is predicted.  相似文献

In recent years Hagedorn states have been used to explain the physics close to the critical temperature within a hadron gas. Because of their large decay widths these massive resonances lower η/s to near the AdS/CFT limit within the hadron gas phase. A comparison of the Hagedorn model to recent lattice results is made and it is found that for both T c = 176 MeV and T c = 196 MeV, the hadrons can reach chemical equilibrium almost immediately, well before the chemical freeze-out temperatures found in thermal fits for a hadron gas without Hagedorn states. In this paper we also observe the effects of Hagedorn States on the K ++ horn seen at AGS, SPS, and RHIC.  相似文献

The properties of spin excitations superposed on a uniform ground state with antiferromagnetic (or spiral) spin structure are studied in a 2D Hubbard model. Expressions are derived for the spin susceptibility in the random phase approximation (RPA) using split Hubbard bands as a zeroth approximation. The calculated collective modes with dispersion ω(Q)=c|Q−(π, π)| near Q∼(π, π) reproduce well the characteristics of the spin excitations observed in undoped cuprates. For doped systems with an antiferromagnetic structure of the ground state, calculating X″(Q,ω→0) gives the same mode with a peak at Q∼(π, π), regardless of the type of Fermi surface. It is shown that in doped systems with a spiral ground state spin structure, X″(Q,ω→0) peaks occur with incommensurate quasimomenta Q that are coupled to the spirality vector. Zh. éksp. Teor. Using the method which retains the rotation symmetry of spin components in the paramagnetic state and has no preset magnetic ordering, spectral and magnetic properties of the two-dimensional t-J model in the normal state are investigated for the ranges of hole concentrations 0 ⩽ x ⩽ 0.16 and temperatures 0.01tT ⩽ 0.2t. The used hopping t and exchange J parameters of the model correspond to hole-doped cuprates. The obtained solutions are homogeneous which indicates that stripes and other types of phase separation are not connected with the strong electron correlations described by the model. A series of nearly equidistant maxima in the hole spectral function calculated for low T and x is connected with hole vibrations in the region of the perturbed short-range antiferromagnetic order. The hole spectrum has a pseudogap in the vicinity of (0,π) and (π, 0). For x ≈ 0.05 the shape of the hole Fermi surface is transformed from four small ellipses around (±π/2,±π/2) to two large rhombuses centered at (0, 0) and (π,π). The calculated temperature and concentration dependencies of the spin correlation length and the magnetic susceptibility are close to those observed in cuprate perovskites. These results offer explanations for the observed scaling of the static uniform susceptibility and for the changes in the spin-lattice relaxation and spin-echo decay rates in terms of the temperature and doping variations in the spin excitation spectrum of the model. A ππ, ˉKK, and ρρ(ωω) fully coupled channel model is used to predict the lowest isospin S, P, D, F-wave phase shifts and inelasticities for elastic ππ scattering from threshold to 2.0 GeV. As input the S-matrix is required to exhibit poles corresponding to the meson resonance table of the Particle Data Group. As expected, the ππ inelasticity is very strongly related to the opening of the ˉK channel near 1 GeV, and the opening of ρρ(4π) and ωω(6π) channels in the 1.5 GeV region. The predictions of this model are compared to the various elastic ππ→ππ amplitudes, that were obtained from analyses of π p →ππ+n data. The binding energy of the six-quark system with strangeness s = −3 is investigated under the chiral SU(3) constituent quark model in the framework of RGM. The calculations of the single NΩ channel with spin S = 2 and the single ΔΩ channel with spin S = 3 are performed. The results show that both systems could be dibaryons and the interaction induced by the chiral field plays a very important role on forming bound states in the systems considered. The phase shifts and scattering lengths in corresponding channels are also given.  相似文献

In most investigations the Roper resonance is sensed only very indirectly via complex partial-wave analyses. We find indications for its excitation in the invariant nπ+ mass spectrum of the ppnpπ+ reaction at M ≈ 1360 MeV with a width of ≈ 150 MeV . The values fit very favorably to the most recent phase shift results as well as to the observations at BES. In the near-threshold two-pion production ppppπ0π0 , where the Roper excitation and its subsequent decays via the routes N * → Δπ → Nππ and N *Nσ are the only dominant processes, we find its direct decay into the Nσ channel to be the by far dominating decay process --in favor of a monopole excitation of the Roper resonance.  相似文献

The masses of the SU(3)×SU(6) hadrons are calculated in the chiral-invariant phase space (CHIPS) model as a sum of the mean energies of the quarks at a constant temperature T c with the color-magnetic splitting and the color-electric shift. The masses of hadrons are parametrized by four constants: T c, ms, E CE and A CM. With the same number of parameters the CHIPS model fits the masses of hadrons better than the classic bag model. The small mass of the d-quark ( m d = 2.7MeV) is used to prove that the isotopic shifts of hadrons can be explained by the mass difference between the d- and u-quarks. The dibaryon mass is estimated in CHIPS to be 200MeV higher than in the bag model. The prediction for the mass of the α* cluster is about the same in both models. It is close to 4 . m Δ. The t-channel contribution to the difference of electromagnetic polarizabilities of the nucleon, (α - β)t, can be quantitatively understood in terms of a σ-meson pole in the complex t-plane of the invariant scattering amplitude A 1(s, t) with properties of the σ-meson as given by the quark-level Nambu-Jona-Lasinio model (NJL). Equivalently, this quantity may be understood in terms of a cut in the complex t-plane where the properties of the σ-meson are taken from the ππ → σ → ππ, γγ → σ → ππ and Nˉ → σ → ππ reactions. This equivalence may be understood as a sum rule where the properties of the σ-meson as predicted by the NJL model are related to the f 0(600) particle observed in the three reactions. Data are presented which indicate the existence of a previously unknown narrow resonance near mass 1520 MeV, discovered while analyzing the system K S K S . The data were obtained at ITEP using the 6-m magnetic spectrometer in a beam of 40-GeV negative particles. The resonance is observed in π p and K p interactions with a total statistical confidence of not less than 5 standard deviations. The width of this state is comparable to the mass resolution of the spectrometer (∼5 MeV). The mass is 1521.5±2.5 MeV. Estimates of the product σ·BR (K S K S ) give ∼5.0 nb in π p interactions and ∼250 nb in K p interactions. From the fact that the production cross section of this resonance in the K beam is approximately 50 times greater than the production cross section in the π beam, it can be concluded that this new state belongs to a system of mesons with hidden strangeness. On the basis of the experimental data on diffractive processes in πp, pp and pˉp collisions at intermediate, moderately high and high energies, we restore the scattering amplitude related to the t-channel exchange by vacuum quantum numbers by taking account of the diffractive s-channel rescatterings. At intermediate and moderately high energies, the t-channel exchange amplitude turns, with a good accuracy, into an effective pomeron which renders the results of the additive quark model. At superhigh energies the scattering amplitude provides a Froissart-type behaviour, with an asymptotic universality of cross sections such as σtot πptot pp→ 1 at s→∞. The quark structure of hadrons being taken into account at the level of constituent quarks, the cross sections of pion and proton (antiproton) in the impact parameter space of quarks, σπ(r 1⊥, r 2⊥; s) and σp(r 1⊥, r 2⊥, r 3⊥; s), are found as functions of s. These cross sections implicate the phenomenon of colour screening: they tend to zero at |r i⊥r k⊥|→ 0. The effective colour screening radius for pion (proton) is found for different s. The spectral-luminescent properties and electronic-level structure of a derivative of oxotetrahydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine—3,3-dimethyl-1,2,3,4-tetrahydrobenzo[c]phenanthridine-1-one (DTP)—in polar and nonpolar solutions are studied by the luminescence and picosecond spectroscopy techniques at 293 and 77 K. It is shown that DTP exhibits ππp* fluorescence only in polar proton-containing methanol, ethanol, and n-propanol and that this fluorescence is associated with a chromophore + alcohol complex. Solutions of DTP in n-propanol and the nonpolar mixture methylcyclohexane + toluene (6:1) at 77 K display ππp* phosphorescence with a quantum yield ΦPh=0.1, a lifetime τPh=1.9 s, and a frequency of the 0-0 transition equal to 21550 cm−1. The fact that DTP fluorescence is absent in aprotic solvents and exists in alcohols is explained by the inversion of the energy levels of the S ππ* and T n π* states, as a result of which the energy level of the fluorescing S ππ* state in alcohol becomes the lowest. The picosecond spectra and kinetics of the inducedS n (ππ*) ← S 1(π π*) and T k (ππ*) ← T 1(ππ*) absorption made it possible to estimate the lifetime of the S 1(ππ*) state of DTP in n-propanol at 293 K (20±10 ps) and the position of the triplet-triplet absorption peak (495 nm). __________ Translated from Optika i Spektroskopiya, Vol. 94, No. 6, 2003, pp. 993–998. An analytical one-dimensional model of the microphase separation in symmetric diblock copolymers is developed. Three stages of the process of the microphase segregation of a quenched diblock copolymer system into a lamella structure are predicted. The first stage involves a fast increase of the amplitude of the quasi-periodical lamella structure (with the average wave vector q0) up to a nearly equilibrium value; the second stage is a slow phase diffusion process which is characterized by increasing coherency of the lamella structure; the third stage is the slow process of the lamella swelling, which is driven by the thermally activated process of the spontaneous deletion of excessive lamellas, the lamella size increasing from the initial value 2π/q 0 to the equilibrium 2π/q eq > 2π/q 0 during the process. The last two stages are described with the specially introduced coarse-grained “amplitude-phase” approximation. It is shown that the relaxation of the gradient of the phase of the lamellar structure is the slowest relaxation process and, thus, can be used as an effective order parameter of the lamellar structure at the later stages of the microphase segregation.
