In this study, thiourea (TU) was novelly developed as a reduction reagent for on-line pre-reduction of selenium(VI) before conventional hydride generation (HG) by KBH4/NaOH–HCl. After TU on-line pre-reduction, the HG efficiency of Se(VI) has been greatly improved and because even higher than that of the same amount of Se(IV) obtained in the conventional HG system. The possible pre-reduction mechanism is discussed. The detection limit (DL) of selenate reaches 10 pg mL 1 when using on-line TU pre-reduction followed by HG atomic fluorescence detection. When TU pre-reduction followed by HG is used as an interface between ion-pair high performance liquid chromatography and atomic fluorescence spectrometry, selenocystine, selenomethionine, selenite and selenate can be measured simultaneously and quantitatively. The DLs of these are 0.06, 0.08, 0.05 and 0.04 ng mL 1, respectively, and the relative standard deviations of 9 duplicate runs for all the 4 species are less than 5%. Furthermore, it was successfully applied to Se speciation analysis of cultured garlic samples, and validated by determination of total selenium and selenium species in certified reference material NIST 1946.  相似文献

This work investigates for the first time the potential of mixed-mode (anion-exchange with reversed-phase) high performance liquid chromatography coupled to inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) for the simultaneous retention and selective separation of a range of inorganic and organically-bound selenium (Se) species. Baseline separation and detection of selenocystine (SeCys2), Se-methyl-selenocysteine (SeMC), selenomethionine (SeMet), methylseleninic acid (MSA), selenite, γ-glutamyl-methyl-selenocysteine (γ-glutamyl-SeMC), and selenate in a Se standard mixture by mixed-mode HPLC-ICP-MS was achieved by switching between two citrate mobile phases of different pH and ionic strength within a single chromatographic run of 20 min. Limits of detection obtained for these Se species ranged from 80 ng kg?1 (for SeMC) to 123 ng kg?1 (for selenate). Using this approach as developed for selenium speciation, an adequate separation of inorganic and organic As compounds was also achieved. These include arsenite, arsenate, arsenobetaine (AsB) and dimethylarsenic acid (DMA), which may coexist with Se species in biological samples. Application of the newly proposed methodology to the investigation of the elemental species distribution in watercress (used as the model sample) after enzymatic hydrolysis or leaching in water by accelerated solvent extraction (ASE) was addressed. Only SeMet, SeMC and selenate could be tentatively identified in watercress extracts by mixed-mode HPLC-ICP-MS and retention time matching with standards. Recoveries (n = 3) of these Se species from samples spiked with standards averaged 102% (for SeMC), 94.9% (for SeMet) and 98.3% (for selenate). Verification of the presence of SeMet and SeMC in an enzymatic watercress extract was achieved by on-line HPLC-ESI MS/MS in selected reaction monitoring (SRM) mode.  相似文献

Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry and mass spectrometry (ICPMS), the latter hyphenated to flow injection hydride generation, electrothermal vaporization or ion chromatography, have been applied to the chemical characterization of crude oil, aqueous process stream samples and wastewaters from a petroleum refinery, in order to get information on the behavior of selenium and its chemical species along effluent generation and treatment. Multielemental characterization of these effluents by ICPMS revealed a complex composition of most of them, with high salinity and potential spectral and non-spectral interferents present. For this reason, a critical re-assessment of the analytical techniques for the determination of total selenium and its species was performed. Methane was employed as gas in dynamic reaction cell ICPMS and cell parameters were optimized for a simulated brine matrix and for diluted aqueous solutions to match the expected process and treated wastewaters samples. The signal-to-background ratios for 78Se and 80Se were used as criteria in optimization, the first isotope resulting in better detection limits for the simulated brine matrix (78Se: 0.07 μg L− 1, 80Se: 0.31 μg L− 1). A large variability in the concentration of selenium (from < 10 μg kg− 1 up to 960 μg kg− 1) was observed in 16 of the most frequently processed crude oil samples in the refinery here investigated, which may explain the pronounced concentrations changes of this element measured in aqueous process stream and wastewater samples. Highest concentrations of total selenium were analyzed in samples from the hydrotreater (up to about 1800 μg L− 1). The predominance of selenocyanate (SeCN) was observed in most of the wastewaters so far investigated, but also other species were detected with retention times different from Se(IV), Se(VI) and SeCN. Colloidal selenium (Se0) was the only Se-species observed in samples from the atmospheric distillation unit, but was also identified in other samples, most probably formed by the decomposition of SeCN or other unstable species.  相似文献

High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) coupled to an ICP-MS with an octapole reaction system (ORS) has been used to carry out quantitative speciation of selenium (Se) and arsenic (As) in the stream waters of a refining process. The argon dimers interfering with the 78Se and 80Se isotopes were suppressed by pressurizing the octapole chamber with 3.1 mL min−1 H2 and 0.5 mL min−1 He. Four arsenic species arsenite—As(III), arsenate (As(V)), monomethylarsonic acid (MMA), and dimethylarsinic acid (DMA)—and three inorganic Se species—selenite Se(IV), selenate Se(VI), and selenocyanate (SeCN)—were separated in a single run by ion chromatography (IC) using gradient elution with 100 mmol L−1 NH4NO3, pH 8.5, adjusted by addition of NH3, as eluent. Repeatabilities of peak position and of peak area evaluation were better than 1% and about 3%, respectively. Detection limits (as 3σ of the baseline noise) were 81, 56, and 75 ng L−1 for Se(IV), Se(VI), and SeCN, respectively, and 22, 19, 25, and 16 ng L−1 for As(III), As(V), MMA, and DMA, respectively. Calibration curve R 2 values ranged between 0.996 and 0.999 for the arsenic and selenium species. Column recovery for ion chromatography was calculated to be 97 ± 6% for combined arsenic species and 98 ± 3% for combined selenium species. Because certified reference materials for As and Se speciation studies are still not commercially available, in order to check accuracy and precision the method was applied to certified reference materials, BCR 714, BCR 1714, and BCR 715 and to two different refinery samples—inlet and outlet wastewater. The method was successfully used to study the quantitative speciation of selenium and arsenic in petroleum refinery wastewaters.  相似文献

Selenium (Se) is naturally occurring in the environment and is an essential nutrient in mammals. However, environmental Se can be increased to toxic levels through different industrial practices. The potential adsorption of the Se oxoanions, selenite and selenate, from aqueous solutions onto nanosynthesized MnFe2O4 was investigated using batch techniques and DRC-ICP-MS spectroscopy. The nanomaterial (NM) was laboratory synthesized through slow titration of a mixture of Fe2+ and Mn2+ ions. X-ray diffraction and Scherrer's equation were used to determine the phase of the material and crystallite size, respectively. The effects of pH, reaction time, competitive anions, and the adsorption capacity of the synthesized NM to bind selenite and selenate were investigated. The Langmuir isotherm was used to determine the binding capacity of the NM. Results showed that the phase of the nanomaterial was similar to Jacobsite with a size of 27.5 nm. Results also showed that the sorption of either 100 ppb of selenite or selenate was pH independent in the pH range 2 to 6 and occurred within 5 min of contact time. The introduction of Cl and NO3 anions individually added to solution had no significant effect on the sorption of either selenite or selenate. However, it was found that the addition of SO42 had a competitive effect only on the sorption of selenate, first seen at 10 ppm and more pronounced at 100 ppm of SO42. In the presence of 100 ppm of PO43, the adsorption of selenate decreased to 87% while selenite sorption decreased to 20%. From the Langmuir isotherm equation it was determined that the nano-Jacobsite had a selenite and selenate binding capacity of 6573.76 and 769.23 mg Se/kg of NM, respectively.  相似文献

A simple, sensitive, and cost-effective analytical method was developed for the speciation analysis of inorganic selenium by combining a nano-TiO2 preconcentration with an ion chromatography-conductivity detection (IC-CD) system. The experimental conditions for the simultaneous adsorption and desorption of Se(IV) and Se(VI) were carefully investigated. Under the established optimum condition, the Se(IV) and Se(VI) ions could been simultaneously adsorbed onto the nano-TiO2 surface at pH 4.0, and then effectively desorbed by 0.1 M sodium hydroxide eluent. The adsorption process was fast and reached adsorption equilibrium within 10 min. The nano-TiO2 also exhibited high adsorption capacity with 11.3 mg g? 1 for Se(IV) and 8.34 mg g? 1 for Se(VI). The enrichment factors for Se(IV) and Se(VI) were calculated to be 39 and 30, respectively, with sample volume of 50 mL. The detection limits (3σ) were 0.8 μg L? 1 for Se(IV) and 0.4 μg L? 1 for Se(VI), which were sensitive enough for the routine analysis of water and drink samples. The relative standard deviation was calculated to be < 4% (n = 6) for detection of 30 μg L? 1 Se(IV) and 30 μg L? 1 Se(VI). The results of the present work confirmed that our developed nano-TiO2-IC-CD method could be applied for the detection of inorganic selenium species in tap water and drink samples with good recoveries in the range of 82%–108%.  相似文献

Herein, the reactivity of chlorodeoxypseudoephedrine hydrochlorides with oxo-, thio-, and selenocyanate nucleophiles is reported. 1,3-Heterazolidine-2-iminium or ammonium salts were obtained stereoselectively in most cases. The hard–soft nature of the calcogen atom determines the mechanistic pathway via an SN2 (X = O), aziridine intermediate (X = Se), or both (X = S). A simple method to synthesize stereoselectively the trans-isomer of 3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-oxazolidine-2-iminium chloride and the cis-isomer of 4-methyl-5-phenyl-oxazoline-2-ammonium chloride, was also found. In addition, heterazolidine-2-imines or amines were liberated from the corresponding salts [Cl or XCN (X = O, S, Se)] with aqueous NaOH. Finally, cis-3,4-dimethyl-5-phenyl-oxazolidine-2-iminium chloride, cis-4-methyl-5-phenyl-oxazoline-2-amine, and trans-4-methyl-5-phenyl-selenazoline-2-amine compounds were studied by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Arsenic and germanium have been evaluated as internal standards to minimize matrix effects on the direct determination of selenium in milk by graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometry (GFAAS) using tubes with integrated platform, pre-treated with W together with Pd as chemical modifier. The efficiency of As and Ge as internal standards for 25 μg L 1 Se plus 500 μg L 1 As or Ge in diluted (1 + 9 v/v) milk plus 1.0% (v/v) HNO3 was evaluated by means of correlation graphs plotted from the normalized absorbance signals (n = 20) of internal standard (axis y) versus analyte (axis x). The equations that describe the linear regression were: AAs =  0.004 ± 0.019 + 1.02 ± 0.019 ASe (r = 0.9967 ± 0.005); AGe =  0.017 ± 0.015 + 1.01 ± 0.015 ASe (r = 0.9978 ± 0.004). Samples and reference solutions were automatically spiked with 500 μg L 1 Ge or As and 1.0% (v/v) HNO3 by the autosampler. For 20 μL of aqueous standard solutions, analytical curves in the 5.00–40.0 μg L 1 Se range were established using the ratio of Se absorbance to internal standard absorbance (ASe / AIS) versus analyte concentration, and good linear correlations were obtained. The characteristic mass was 40 pg Se. Limits of detection were 0.55 and 0.40 μg L 1 with As and Ge as the internal standard, respectively. Relative standard deviations (RSD) for a sample containing 25 μg L 1 Se were 1.2% and 1.0% (n = 12) using As and Ge, respectively. The RSD without internal standardization was about 6%. The accuracy of the proposed method was evaluated by an addition-recovery experiment and all recovered values were in the 99–105% range with IS and in the 70–80% range without IS. Using Ge as the internal standard, results of analysis of standard reference materials were in agreement with certified values at a 95% confidence level. The selenium concentration for 10 analyzed milk samples varied from 5.0 to 20 μg L 1.  相似文献

The effect of signal enhancement of elements with ionization potentials in the range from 9 to 11 eV by carbon-containing compounds is a well-known phenomenon in inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICPMS). It has traditionally been exploited through the addition of organic solvents to the sample matrix or to the mobile phase to improve sensitivity. In the present work, aqueous solutions of volatile carbon compounds (acetone, methanol and acetic acid) were directly introduced into the thermostatted spray chamber rather than being added to the sample matrix. It is presumed that no aerosol is produced from these solutions and only vapors of organic compounds are swept into the plasma together with the sample aerosol. When a 0.40 mol l 1 aqueous solution of acetone was introduced directly into the spray chamber, the signals for arsenic and selenium were enhanced by a factor of 4.2. The usefulness of this approach was demonstrated through the achievement of lower instrumental detection limits for selenium at m/z 82 (0.1 ng ml 1) compared to the system without direct introduction of volatile carbon compounds (0.5 ng ml 1). The method was successfully applied in the determination of traces of selenium in natural water, urine and bovine liver reference material.  相似文献

In this work, a microfluidic flow-through electrochemical reactor for wastewater treatment is presented which simultaneously minimizes ohmic drop and mass transfer limitations, two of the most important bottlenecks in electrochemical wastewater treatment. A proof-of-concept comparison versus a state-of-the-art flow-by commercial reactor revealed that the proposed reactor greatly outperforms the commercial system. The novel system requires only 2.4 Ah dm 3 (vs. 11.4 Ah dm 3) and 12.5 kWh m 3 (vs. 75.0 kWh m 3) to completely mineralize 100 mg dm 3 of clopyralid spiked in a low-conductive (1 mS cm 1) matrix with both systems using diamond anodes. The microfluidic flow-through configuration represents a promising approach to the development of cost-effective electrochemical technologies for wastewater treatment.  相似文献

Decomposition of endocrine disrupting chemicals (EDCs) in wastewater was investigated by use of 60Co γ-ray. Estrogen activities of wastewaters were estimated by the yeast two-hybrid assay based on human or medaka estrogen receptors. The dose required for the elimination of estrogen activity of wastewater below 1 ng dm−3 was about 200 Gy (J kg−1). The elimination dose of the estrogen activity depended on the amounts of total organic carbons in wastewater. The economic cost of the treatment process of EDCs using electron beam was estimated at 17 yen m−3.  相似文献

This work aims to contribute to the characterization of the electrodialysis (ED) of aqueous sulfuric acid–copper sulfate solutions. The presence of impurities such as As and Sb, typical of copper electrorefining electrolytes, is also studied. Results from kinetic studies carried out in ED cells with and without re-circulation are presented. The concentrations were: 3–9 g l−1 copper, 50 g l−1 sulfuric acid, 3 g l−1 arsenic and 0.025 g l−1 antimony; the temperatures, 22 and 44 °C; the transport rates, depending on experimental conditions, 0.2–0.6 mol h−1 m−2of membrane for copper, 0.65–2.8 for sulfate, and 0.016–0.03 for arsenic. A speciation model has been developed and applied in order to interpret the experimental results and the performance of the studied cells has been evaluated. The main conclusion is that ED can be applied to the separation and concentration of chemical species in these systems.  相似文献

We have developed an on-line sequential photocatalyst-assisted digestion and vaporization device (SPADVD), which operates through the nano-TiO2-catalyzed photo-oxidation and reduction of selenium (Se) species, for coupling between anion exchange chromatography (LC) and inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) systems to provide a simple and sensitive hyphenated method for the speciation analysis of Se species without the need for conventional chemical digestion and vaporization techniques. Because our proposed on-line SPADVD allows both organic and inorganic Se species in the column effluent to be converted on-line into volatile Se products, which are then measured directly through ICP-MS, the complexity of the procedure and the probability of contamination arising from the use of additional chemicals are both low. Under the optimized conditions for SPADVD – using 1 g of nano-TiO2 per liter, at pH 3, and illuminating for 80 s – we found that Se(IV), Se(VI), and selenomethionine (SeMet) were all converted quantitatively into volatile Se products. In addition, because the digestion and vaporization efficiencies of all the tested selenicals were improved when using our proposed on-line LC/SPADVD/ICP-MS system, the detection limits for Se(IV), Se(VI), and SeMet were all in the nanogram-per-liter range (based on 3σ). A series of validation experiments – analysis of neat and spiked extracted samples – indicated that our proposed methods could be applied satisfactorily to the speciation analysis of organic and inorganic Se species in the extracts of Se-enriched supplements.  相似文献

Selenium is an essential micronutrient required at trace levels for human health, and dietary intake is the only source of selenium, which appears mainly in the form of selenocompounds. In this study, Flammulina velutipes was grown for 80 days in standard medium containing selenite, and the level of total selenium in the organism was then determined by inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS). In Se-cultivated F. velutipes, selenium was mainly distributed in the water-soluble form and the content of soluble selenium-containing species in Se-cultivated F. velutipes was 47.10 mg kg−1, accounted for 72.5% of the total selenium content. The water-soluble proteins in F. velutipes were extracted and precipitated by different ammonium sulfate saturation concentrations. Size-exclusion high performance liquid chromatography (SEC-HPLC) analysis of these proteins revealed the presence of at least six selenium-containing protein species, with molecular weights ranging from 9000 to 74,000 Da, Selenium-containing proteins represented about 7.0% of the total soluble selenium. The result of this study suggested that Se-cultivated F. velutipes could potentially be considered as a selenium supplement for human.  相似文献

Stability constants of the ternary palladium(II) complexes of triamine 2,2′:6′,2″-terpyridine (terpy) and some amino acids, peptides, DNA constituents or thiols were determined at 25 °C and at constant 0.1 mol dm−3 ionic strength, adjusted using NaNO3. The coordination sites are pH-dependent. The results show the formation of binuclear species, 210. The speciation diagrams of various complex species were evaluated as a function of pH. Good correlations were found between the stability constants of the complexes and basicity of ligands.  相似文献

A novel non-chromatographic approach for direct speciation of mercury, based on the selective retention inorganic mercury and methylmercury on the inner wall of a knotted reactor by using ammonium diethyl dithiophosphate and dithizone as complexing agents respectively, was developed for flow injection on-line sorption preconcentration coupled with chemical vapor generation non-dispersive atomic fluorescence spectrometry. With the sample pH kept at 2.0, the preconcentration of inorganic mercury on the inner walls of the knotted reactor was carried out based on the exclusive retention of Hg–DDP complex in the presence of methylmercury via on-line merging the sample solution with ammonium diethyl dithiophosphate solution, and selective preconcentration methylmercury was achieved with dithizone instead of ammonium diethyl dithiophosphate. A 15% (v/v) HCl was introduced to elute the retained mercury species and merge with KBH4 solution for atomic fluorescence spectrometry detection. Under the optimal experimental conditions, the sample throughputs of inorganic mercury and methylmercury were 30 and 20 h 1 with the enhancement factors of 13 and 24. The detection limits were found to be 3.6 ng l 1 for Hg2+ and 2.0 ng l 1 for CH3Hg+. The precisions (RSD) for the 11 replicate measurements of each 0.2 μg l 1 of Hg2+ and CH3Hg+ were 2.2% and 2.8%, respectively. The developed method was validated by the analysis of certified reference materials (simulated natural water, rice flour and pork) and by recovery measurements on spiked samples, and was applied to the determination of inorganic mercury and methylmercury in biological and environmental water samples.  相似文献

Methods for the atomic fluorescence spectrometric (AFS) determination of total arsenic and arsenic species in wines based on continuous flow hydride generation (HG) with atomization in miniature diffusion flame (MDF) are described. For hydride-forming arsenic, l-cysteine is used as reagent for pre-reduction and complexation of arsenite, arsenate, monomethylarsonate and dimethylarsinate. Concentrations of hydrochloric acid and tetrahydroborate are optimized in order to minimize interference by ethanol. Procedure permits determination of the sum of these four species in 5–10-fold diluted samples with limit of detection (LOD) 0.3 and 0.6 μg l 1 As in white and red wines, respectively, with precision between 2% and 8% RSD at As levels within 0.5–10 μg l 1.Selective arsine generation from different reaction media is used for non-chromatographic determination of arsenic species in wines: citrate buffer at pH 5.1 for As(III); 0.2 mol l 1 acetic acid for arsenite + dimethylarsinate (DMA); 8 mol l 1 HCl for total inorganic arsenic [As(III) + As(V)]; and monomethylarsonate (MMA) calculated by difference. Calibration with aqueous and ethanol-matched standard solutions of As(III) is used for 10- and 5-fold diluted samples, respectively. The LODs are 0.4 μg l 1 for As(III) and 0.3 μg l 1 for the other three As species and precision is within 4–8% RSDs.Arsenic species in wine were also determined by coupling of ion chromatographic separation on an anion exchange column and HG-flame AFS detection. Methods were validated by means of recovery studies and comparative analyses by HG-AFS and electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry after microwave digestion. The LODs were 0.12, 0.27, 0.15 and 0.13 μg l 1 (as As) and RSDs were 2–6%, 5–9%, 3–7% and 2–5% for As(III), As(V), MMA and DMA arsenic species, respectively. Bottled red and white wines from Bulgaria, Republic of Macedonia and Italy were analyzed by non-chromatographic and chromatographic procedures and the As(III), arsenite, has been confirmed as major arsenic species.  相似文献

A three-step infrared (IR) macro-fingerprint method combining conventional IR spectra, and the secondary derivative spectra with two-dimensional infrared correlation spectroscopy (2D-IR), was developed to analyze Spirulina powder before and after gamma irradiation. In the IR spectra, most of the absorption peaks of samples irradiated at 1, 2.7, 6, and 10.4 kGy had lower intensities than the non-irradiated ones, whereas peaks at 1152, 1078, and 1051 cm−1 were slightly enhanced with irradiation at 2.7, 6, and 10.4 kGy. Their second derivative spectra amplified the differences and revealed that irradiation affected the C=O band of carboxylic acid and esters, and the N–H band of proteins. The peaks at 1746 and 1741 cm−1, and those at 1730 and 1725  cm−1 became two broad peaks. Meanwhile, the three sharp peaks at 1548 cm−1, 1544 cm−1 and 1536 cm−1 changed to two broad peaks at around 1547 and 1534 cm−1 after irradiation at doses higher than 1 kGy. The characteristic IR bands from 1700 cm−1 to 1600 cm−1, which represent the C=O band in proteins, also have different shapes and intensities after irradiation. The finding indicated that irradiation affected the secondary structures of protein which was confirmed by curve fitting results. During the process of increasing the temperature from 50 to 210 °C, the ratio of amide I to II in absorption intensities in the 2D-IR spectra of the irradiated samples varied with different response for different samples. Saccharides in Spirulina powder had a higher thermostability than proteins, but the autopeaks of irradiated samples did show differences from the non-irradiated sample. The intensity of autopeaks at 1012 cm−1 increased dramatically in the irradiated samples while that of peaks at 1053, 1071, and 1083 cm−1 decreased after irradiation. Based on the three-step IR macro-fingerprint method, irradiated Spirulina powder samples were successfully and fast identified and discriminated.  相似文献

Volatile hydrides of As, Se, Sb and Sn, produced by a continuous manifold hydride generator, have been swept with argon and injected into the plasma of home-made direct current wall-stabilized argon plasma arc via one of its stabilizing segments. The arc burns in argon with an arc current of 20 A and a cathode-anode voltage of 40 V. Measurements were carried out using a 1 m focal length computer-controlled monochromator (Jobin Yvon 1000R) equipped with a holographic grating having 2400 grooves mm 1. Optimal values of the experimental variables that give the highest value of intensity ratio of line-to-background were determined. These are: plasma gas flow rate 1.0 l min 1, carrier gas flow rate 0.35 l min 1 for As and Sb and 0.6 l min 1 for Se and Sn, concentration of nitric acid used for acidification of the sample 2 M for As and Sb, 0.5 M for Se and 0.1 M for Sn and sodium borohydride concentration: 1.5% for As and Se and 2% for Sb and Sn. Chemical interference of some transition elements that affect the hydride generation process and a trial to mask their interference effect were investigated. Calibration curves were linear and limits of detection calculated on the base of 3σ of the background were found to be as low as 3.9, 6.8, 9.8 and 13.2 ng ml 1 for As, Se, Sb and Sn, respectively. Finally, the analytical applicability of the arc device was tested by the determination of As in four lake sediment samples, LKSD 1, LKSD 2, LKSD 3 and LKSD 4, of the Centre for Mineral and Energy Technology, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, which have been analyzed for As using atomic absorption spectrometry (AAS). The results were in good agreement with those obtained by AAS.  相似文献

Irradiation and heat treatment were performed on tourmalines of various colors from Antandrokomby, Madagascar. The samples were irradiated with 10 MeV electrons to fluencies of 2 ×1017 cm−2 for 1 h and were heated at 550 °C for 3 h in air. Their electronic and vibrational spectra were investigated by UV–vis, mid-infrared, and WD-XRF spectroscopy for comparison to pristine samples. Changes in the Mn3+ ions after irradiation resulted in darker pink tourmalines, which had absorption peaks at 390 and 520 nm. These samples became colorless after subsequent heat treatment. After irradiation, colorless, light blue and yellow tourmalines displayed a new absorption band at 365 nm. Alteration of the stretching absorption bands and wavenumber after irradiation could be explained by the following reactions:OH + e beam irradiation  O + H°,Mn2+ + e beam irradiation  Mn3+ + e andFe2+ + e beam irradiation  Fe3+ + e.Stretching vibration of the BO3 structure occurred at 1330 cm−1, while the SiO vibration absorption bands were assigned to around 1100 cm−1. Colorless, green, and yellow tourmalines showed high-intensity peaks around 3608 and 3505 cm−1 after irradiation. Pink and dark green tourmalines showed low-intensity peaks at 3605 and 3585 cm−1, respectively. The combination modes of stretching and bending in the range of 4600–4300 cm−1 were split after irradiation and heat treatment, and different color changes occurred after irradiation.  相似文献
