The metal-directed assembly of new molecular frameworks incorporating 4-(4-pyridyl)pyrazole (L), containing non-linear coordination vectors, is presented. Three metallo-arrays of types [Co(LH)2(NO3)4], [Co(LH)2(H2O)4][NO3]4.H2O and [Zn2(L-H)2Cl2].2EtOH are reported. The cobalt(II) in [Co(LH)2(NO3)4] displays distorted octahedral geometry, with the two protonated pyridyl-pyrazole ligands coordinated through their pyrazole nitrogen atoms in a trans-orientation; the remaining four coordination sites are occupied by nitrate anions. Two internal hydrogen bonds occur between each pyrazole NH and the oxygens of adjacent coordinated nitrato ligands. Short intermolecular hydrogen bonds also occur between the two pyridinium hydrogens and bound nitrate ligands on different molecules to yield a two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded array. Two of these arrays interpenetrate to form an extended two dimensional layer; such layers stack throughout the crystal structure. A second product of type [Co(LH)2(H2O)4][NO3]4.H2O exists as two crystallographically independent, but chemically similar, forms. In each form, the two protonated pyridyl-pyrazole ligands occupy trans positions about the cobalt, with the remaining four coordination sites being filled by water molecules to yield a distorted octahedral coordination geometry. Intramolecular hydrogen-bonding is observed between the two non-coordinated pyrazoyl nitrogen atoms and bound water oxygen atoms. The third complex, [Zn2(L-H)2Cl2].2EtOH, contains dimer units consisting of two zinc(II) ions bridged by two pyrazoylate groups in which the coordination geometry of each zinc approximates a tetrahedron. Each zinc is bound to two deprotonated pyridine-pyrazole ligands (L-H), one pyridyl group (from a different dimeric unit) and one chloro ligand. Each pyridyl nitrogen thus connects each of these zinc dimers to an adjacent dimer unit, forming a three-dimensional network containing small voids. The latter are occupied by ethanol molecules which form hydrogen bonds to the chloro ligands.  相似文献

In the cobalt(II) coordination polymer poly[[(μ2‐benzene‐1,3‐dicarboxylato){μ2‐1,1′‐[2,2′‐oxybis(ethane‐2,1‐diyl)]di‐1H‐imidazole}cobalt(II)] monohydrate], {[Co(C10H14N4O)(C8H4O4)]·H2O}n, two crystallographically distinct CoII cations are four‐coordinated by N2O2 donor sets in distorted tetrahedral geometries. The CoII centers are connected by benzene‐1,3‐dicarboxylate (m‐BDC) anions, giving two types of linear chains, which are further joined via meso‐helical 1,1′‐[2,2′‐oxybis(ethane‐2,1‐diyl)]di‐1H‐imidazole ligands to yield a thick two‐dimensional slab. The compound displays a two‐dimensional four‐connected 42.63.8 topology, which is unprecedented in coordination polymers.  相似文献

The kinetics and mechanism of the removal of M2+ from bis-(heptane-2,4,6-trionato)M(II) [M = Ni, Co] by ethylenediminetetraacetic acid (EDTA), nitrilotriacetic acid (NAT), 1,2-cyclohexanediamine-N, N, N′, N′-tetraacetic acid (CyDTA), and ethylenebis(oxyethylenenitrilo)tetraacetic acid (EGTA) have been investigated using stopped-flow spectrophotometry in methanol-water at 25°C and ionic strength 0.1 mol dm?3 KNO3. The reactions were investigated at a number of different pHs. An associative mechanism is proposed to account for the kinetic data. Although all the ligands have similar functional groups, their reactivity towards the parent complex is quite different. The pH dependence of the rate constants has been used to determine the relative reactivities of the various ligand species present. In the case of nitrilotriacetic acid, a nonlinear dependence on ligand concentration is observed, thus confirming the mechanism proposed. © 1995 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Here we report the syntheses and crystal structures of a series of cobalt(II) and nickel(II) complexes derived from (R)NP2 ligands (where R = OMe(Bz), H(Bz), Br(Bz), Ph) bearing ethylene linkers between a single N and two P donors. The Co(II) complexes generally adopt a tetrahedral configuration of general formula [(NP2)Co(I)(2)], wherein the two phosphorus donors are bound to the metal center but the central N-donor remains unbound. We have found one case of structural isomerism within a single crystal structure. The Co(II) complex derived from (Bz)NP2 displays dual coordination modes: one in the tetrahedral complex [((Bz)NP2)Co(I)(2)]; and the other in a square pyramidal variant, [((Bz)NP2)Co(I)(2)]. In contrast, the Ni(II) complexes adopt a square planar geometry in which the P(Et)N(Et)P donors in the ligand backbone are coordinated to the metal center, resulting in cationic species of formula [((R)NP2)Ni(I)](+) with iodide as counterion. All Ni(II) complexes exhibit sharp (1)H and (31)P spectra in the diamagnetic region. The Co(II) complexes are high-spin (S = 3/2) in the solid state as determined by SQUID measurements from 4 to 300 K. Solution electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) experiments reveal a high-spin/low-spin Co(II) equilibrium that is dependent on solvent and ligand substituent.  相似文献

To systematically explore the influence of the bulky aromatic ring skeleton with a large conjugated pi-system on the structures and properties of their complexes, six CuII, CoII, and NiII complexes with the anthracene-based carboxylic ligand anthracene-9-carboxylic acid (HL1), were synthesized and characterized, sometimes incorporating different auxiliary ligands: [Cu2(L1)4(CH3OH)2](CH3OH) (1), [Cu4(L1)6(L2)4](NO3)2(H2O)2 (2), {[Cu2(L1)4(L3)](CH3OH)0.25}infinity (3), [Co2(L1)4(L4)2(micro-H2O)](CH3OH) (4), {[Co(L1)2(L5)(CH3OH)2]}infinity (5), and {[Ni(L1)2(L5)(CH3OH)2]}infinity (6) (L2 = 2,2'-bipyridine, L3 = 1,4-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octane, L4 = 1,10-phenanthroline, and L5 = 4,4'-bipyridine). 1 has a dinuclear structure that is further assembled to form a one-dimensional (1D) chain and then a two-dimensional (2D) network by the C-H...O H-bonding and pi...pi stacking interactions jointly. 2 takes a tetranuclear structure due to the existence of the chelating L2 ligand. 3 possesses a 1D chain structure by incorporating the related auxiliary ligand L3, which is further interlinked via interchain pi...pi stacking, resulting in a three-dimensional (3D) network. 4 also has a dinuclear structure and then forms a higher-dimensional supramolecular network through intermolecular pi...pi stacking and/or C-H...pi interactions. 5 and 6 are isostructural complexes, except they involve different metal ions, showing 1D chain structures, which are also assembled into 2D networks from the different crystallographic directions by interchain pi...pi stacking and C-H...pi interactions, respectively. The results reveal that the steric bulk of the anthracene ring in HL1 plays an important role in the formation of 1-6. The magnetic properties of the complexes were investigated, and the very long intermetallic distances result in weak magnetic coupling, with the exception of 1 and 3, which adopt the typical paddle-wheel structure of copper acetate and are thus strongly coupled.  相似文献

The synthesis of the novel tripodal ligand [N(CH2CH2CH2OH)(CH2CH2SH)2] H3-4 is reported. The aliphatic tetradentate ligand is equipped with an unsymmetrical NOS2 donor set. It reacts with Ni(OAc)2 x 4H2O or Zn(BF4)2 x xH2O to give the complexes [Ni(H-4)]2 5 and [Zn(H-4)]4 6, respectively. The molecular structures of 5 and 6 have been determined by X-ray diffraction. In both cases multinuclear, mu-thiolato-bridged complexes, wherein the ligand coordinates with only three (NS2) of the four donor groups, had formed. The dinuclear complex 5 adopts a butterfly geometry and contains nickel(II) ions in a square-planar NS3 coordination environment. Cyclic voltammetry experiments indicate that the nickel centers in 5 are electron-rich but not overly sensitive toward oxidation. Complex 6 is tetranuclear and the four thiolato-bridged metal centers form a ring. It shows a distorted tetrahedral coordination geometry for the zinc(II) ions in an NS3 coordination sphere. In both complexes the hydroxyl functionalized ligand arm of the tripodal ligand remains uncoordinated.  相似文献

Two coordination polymers, namely [Cu(L)2]·(NO3)2 (1) and [Co(L)(chdc)]·2H2O (2) [(chdc?=?1,4-cyclohexanedicarboxylate, L?=?1,3-bis-(5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole-1-yl-methylene)-benzene], based on a flexible 5,6-dimethylbenzimidazole ligand have been synthesized and characterized by physico-chemical and spectroscopic methods and single-crystal diffraction. Complex 1 shows a 2D (4,4) network structure linked by L ligands while complex 2 displays a 1D ladder-like chain bridged by L and chdc ligands. The catalytic activities of both complexes for the degradation of methyl orange have been investigated.  相似文献

Four new coordination polymers of cobalt(II) and nickel(II) with functionalized dicarboxylate ligands, namely, [CoIIL1(2,2′-bpy)(H2O)] (1), [NiIIL1(2,2′-bpy)(H2O)]·H2O (2), [CoII2(L2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(H2O)] (3) and [NiII2(L2)2(2,2′-bpy)2(H2O)] (4), where H2L1 = 2,5-dibenzoylterephthalic acid, H2L2 = 4,6-bis(4-methylbenzoyl)isophthalic acid and 2,2′-bpy = 2,2′-bipyridine, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectra and thermogravimetric analysis. Complex 1 exhibits a zigzag chain with a C–Hπ interaction between the phenyl ring proton and the phenyl ring of an adjacent chains to form a 2D supramolecular sheet. Complex 2 contains two helical chains which extend into 2D via a C–Hπ interaction between the pyridine ring proton and the pyridine ring. Complexes 3 and 4 are isomorphous with helical chains that extend in the same direction and further link to one another by supramolecular forces into a 2D structure. Moreover, magnetic and luminescence properties have been investigated for 1 and 2, respectively.  相似文献

Summary A series of metal complexes with new tridentate Schiff base derived from salicylaldehyde and furfuraldehyde with o-phenyldiamine have been prepared and characterised by physical and chemical methods. Electronic spectra, room temperature magnetic moment values, e.p.r. and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy studies suggest an octahedral geometry for all the complexes, where low molar conductance values are in accord with their non-electrolytic nature. The thermal stability of the complexes is discussed and the ligand-to-metal bonding modes discussed.  相似文献

Reactions of cymantrenecarboxylic acid (CO)3MnC5H4COOH (CymCOOH) with Ni(II) and Co(II) pivalates in boiling THF followed by extraction of the products with diethyl ether or benzene and treatment with triphenylphosphine gave the binuclear complexes LM(CymCOO)4ML (M = Ni (I) and Co (II); L = PPh3). Treatment of the benzene extract of the intermediate cobalt cymantrenecarboxylate with 2,6-lutidine (L’) yielded the trinuclear complex L’Co(CymCOO)3Co(CymCOO)3CoL’ (III). Complex I is antiferromagnetic; μeff decreases from 3.7 to 0.9 μB in a temperature range from 300 to 2 K. Structures I-III were identified using X-ray diffraction. The frameworks of complexes I and II are like Chinese lanterns, having four carboxylate bridges and axial ligands L (Ni-P, 2.358(1) Å; Co-P, 2.412(2) Å). The metal atoms are not bonded to each other (Ni…Ni, 2.7583(9) Å; Co…Co, 2808 (2) Å). In complex III, either terminal Co atom is coordinated to one ligand L’ (Co-N, 2.059(2) Å). The Co atoms form a linear chain showing no M-M bonds (Co…Co, 3.346(1) Å), in which either terminal Co atom is linked with the central Co atom by three carboxylate bridges (on average, Cocentr-O, 2.164 Å; COterm-O, 2.094 Å). In one of three carboxylate groups, only one carboxylate O atom serves as a bridge, while the other is bonded to the terminal Co atom only (Coterm-O, 2.094 and 2.389 Å); so this carboxylate group is a bridging and chelating ligand.  相似文献

A one-dimensional coordination polymer [Co(μ 1,3-NCS)2(npdo)2] n (npdo?=?4-nitropyridine N-oxide) has been synthesized and structurally determined by X-ray crystallography. The complex crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group of Pbcn with a?=?22.688(5)?Å, b?=?7.2636(17)?Å, c?=?10.299(2)?Å. Adjacent Co(II) ions are coordinated by two μ 1,3-SCN? bridging ligands, forming a one-dimensional chain along the c axis and the npdo coordinates to Co(II) ion as a terminal ligand. The thermal variation of the magnetic moments of the complex reflects the antiferromagnetic interaction between the bridged Co(II) ions above 20?K and the ferromagnetic transition or the strong short-range spin interaction below 20?K.  相似文献

The stability constants of ZnII, CuII, NiII and CoII with different tripodal ligands, 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazaoctxyl)benzene (L1), 1,3,5-tris(2,5-diazanonxyl)benzene (L2) and 1,3,5-tris[3-(2-pyridyl)-2-azapropyl]benzene (L3) have been studied at 25 °C in 0.1 mol dm–3 KNO3 aqueous solution using potentiometric titrations. During the titrations, the ligand concentrations were kept constant at 1 × 10–3 mol dm–3, while 1:1 and 1:3 metal:ligand ratios were used for each system. The results indicated that, in the 1:1 metal:ligand ratio, the binding of MII to the ligand gives rise to several 1:1 complexes differing in their degree of protonation whereas in the 3:1 ratio, polynuclear complexes are formed. Additionally, the ternary complexes of the tripod ligands, with CuII-5-substituted-1, 10-phenanthroline have been investigated and the results show that linear free energy relationship exists in such ternary systems.  相似文献

Three nickel(II) dinuclear carbonato-bridged complexes: (-CO3)[Ni(TAA)]2(ClO4)2·4H2O (1), (-CO3)[Ni(TTA)]2- (ClO4)2·2H2O (2), (-CO3)[Ni(cyclam)]2(ClO4)2 (3) [TAA =N(CH2CH2NH2)3,TTA=triethylenetetramine,cyclam = 1,4,8,11-tetraazacyclotetradecane] have been prepared. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility for (1), (2) and (3) were measured over the 77–300K range and the observed data were successfully simulated by an equation based on the spin Hamiltonian operator (H= –2JS1S2), giving the exchange integral J=–7.75cm–1 for (1), J=–1.23 cm–1 for (2) and J=–40.26cm–1 for (3).  相似文献

The tris(para-pyridyl)phosphine template (1) has been used in conjunction with a series of meso-substituted Zn(II)-tetraphenylporphyrins complexes (2-10) to create supramolecular encapsulated ligand assemblies via Zn-N(pyr) interactions. The structural features of supramolecular ligand 1.[2](3) have been investigated in detail using X-ray crystallography, NMR specroscopy, and UV-vis spectroscopy. The pyridylphosphine-porphyrin stoichiometry determined in solution (1:3) differs markedly with that observed in the solid state (2:5, for assembly [1](2).[2](5)). The difference originates from an unusual coordination behavior of one of the Zn centers, which is octahedrally surrounded through double axial coordination by the pyridyl groups of the two different molecules of 1.  相似文献
