The escape for the mean first passage time (MFPT) over the fluctuating potential barrier for system only driven by a dichotomous noise is investigated. It is found that, in some circumstances, the dichotomous noise can induce the resonant activation for the MFPT over the fluctuating potential barrier, but in other circumstances, it cannot. There are two resonant activations for the MFPT. One is the MFPT as a function of the flipping rate of the fluctuating potential barrier, the other is the MFPT as a function of the transition rate of the dichotomous noise.  相似文献

We study the mean first passage time (MFPT) over the fluctuatingpotential barrier for a stochastic model of motor proteins in the case of environmental perturbation proposed by J.H. LI et al. [Phys. Rev. E57 (1998) 39171. The MFPT is derived for a particle over the fluctuating potential barrier. It is shown that (i) there is resonant activation for the MFPT as a function of the flipping rate of the fluctuating potential barrier; (ii) the additive and multiplicative noises can weaken the resonant activation, but the correlations between them enhance the resonant activation; (iii) the susceptibility of the resonant activation to the multiplicative noise is far larger than that to the additive noise.  相似文献

We study the escape for the mean first passage time (MFPT) over a potential barrier for a system with non- fluctuating potential barrier and only driven by a three-state noise. It is shown that in some circumstances, the three-state noise can induce the resonant activation for the MFPT over the potential barrier; but in other circumstances, it can not. There are three resonant activations for the MFPT over the potential barrier, which are respectively as the functions of the transition rates of the three-state noise.  相似文献

We consider the escape of the particles multi-state noise. It is shown that, the noise can make over fluctuating potential barrier for a system only driven by a the particles escape over the fluctuating potential barrier in some circumstances; but in other circumstances, it can not. If the noise can make the particle escape over the fluctuating potential barrier, the mean first passage time (MFPT) can display the phenomenon of multi-resonant-activation. For this phenomenon, there are two kinds of resonant activation to appear. One is resonant activation for the MFPTs as the function of the flipping rates of the fluctuating potential barrier; the other is that for the MFPTs as the functions of the transition rates of the multi-state noise.  相似文献

The overdamped motion of a Brownian particle in randomly switching piece-wise metastable linear potential shows noise enhanced stability (NES): the noise stabilizes the metastable system and the system remains in this state for a longer time than in the absence of white noise. The mean first passage time (MFPT) has a maximum at a finite value of white noise intensity. The analytical expression of MFPT in terms of the white noise intensity, the parameters of the potential barrier, and of the dichotomous noise is derived. The conditions for the NES phenomenon and the parameter region where the effect can be observed are obtained. The mean first passage time behaviors as a function of the mean flipping rate of the potential for unstable and metastable initial configurations are also analyzed. The energy diffusion controlled reaction rate of a reacting particle with linear weak damping and broad-band noise excitation is studied by using the stochastic averaging method. First, the stochastic averaging method for strongly nonlinear oscillators under broad-band noise excitation using generalized harmonic functions is briefly introduced. Then, the reaction rate of the classical Kramers' reacting model with linear weak damping and broad-band noise excitation is investigated by using the stochastic averaging method. The averaged It? stochastic differential equation describing the energy diffusion and the Pontryagin equation governing the mean first-passage time (MFPT) are established. The energy diffusion controlled reaction rate is obtained as the inverse of the MFPT by solving the Pontryagin equation. The results of two special cases of broad-band noises, i.e. the harmonic noise and the exponentially corrected noise, are discussed in details. It is demonstrated that the general expression of reaction rate derived by the authors can be reduced to the classical ones via linear approximation and high potential barrier approximation. The good agreement with the results of the Monte Carlo simulation verifies that the reaction rate can be well predicted using the stochastic averaging method.  相似文献

We study the effect of time delay in the FitzHugh-Nagumo neural model with correlations between multiplicative and additive noise terms. Based on the corresponding Fokker-Planck equation, the explicit expressions of the stationary probability distribution function (SPDF), the mean first passage time (MFPT) and the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) are obtained, respectively. Research results show that: (i) the system undergoes a succession of two phase transitions (i.e., the reentrance phenomenon) as the noise correlation parameter is increased and a (single) phase transition as the time delay is increased. (ii) The MFPT as a function of the multiplicative noise intensity exhibits a maximum. This maximum for MFPT identifies the noise enhanced stability (NES) effect, the noise correlation parameter intensifies the NES effect while the time delay, and the additive noise intensity weakens it. (iii) The existence of a maximum in the SNR as a function of the multiplicative noise intensity is the identifying characteristic of the stochastic resonance (SR) phenomenon, the noise correlation parameter enhances the SR while the time delay, and the additive noise intensity weaken it.  相似文献

The problem of escape from a domain of attraction is applied to the case of discrete dynamical systems possessing stable and unstable fixed points. In the presence of noise, the otherwise stable fixed point of a nonlinear map becomes metastable, due to noise-induced hopping events, which eventually pass the unstable fixed point. Exact integral equations for the moments of the first passage time variable are derived, as well as an upper bound for the first moment. In the limit of weak noise, the integral equation for the first moment, i.e., the mean first passage time (MFPT), is treated, both numerically and analytically. The exponential leading part of the MFPT is given by the ratio of the noise-induced invariant probability at the stable fixed point and unstable fixed point, respectively. The evaluation of the prefactor is more subtle: It is characterized by a jump at the exit boundaries, which is the result of a discontinuous boundary layer function obeying an inhomogeneous integral equation. The jump at the boundary is shown to be always less than one-half of the maximum value of the MFPT. On the basis of a clear-cut separation of time scales, the MFPT is related to the escape rate to leave the domain of attraction and other transport coefficients, such as the diffusion coefficient. Alternatively, the rate can also be obtained if one evaluates the current-carrying flux that results if particles are continuously injected into the domain of attraction and captured beyond the exit boundaries. The two methods are shown to yield identical results for the escape rate of the weak noise result for the MFPT, respectively. As a byproduct of this study, we obtain general analytic expressions for the invariant probability of noisy maps with a small amount of nonlinearity.  相似文献

For the activated dynamics of a Brownian particle moving in a confined system with the presence of entropic barriers, this paper investigates a periodic driving and correlations between two noises. Within the two-state approximation, the explicit expressions of the mean first passage time (MFPT) and the spectral power amplification (SPA) are obtained, respectively. Based on the numerical computations, it is found that: (i) The MFPT as a function of the noise intensity exhibits a maximum with the positive correlations between two noises (λ>0), this maximum for MFPT shows the characteristic of the entropic noise induced stability (ENIS) effect. The intensity λ of correlations between two noises can enhance the ENIS effect. (ii) The SPA as a function of the noise intensity exhibits a double-peak by tuning the noise correlation intensity λ, i.e., the existence of a double-peak behaviour is the identifying characteristic of the double entropic stochastic resonance phenomenon.  相似文献

The mean first-passage time (MFPT) and the weak signal detection method of stochastic resonance (SR) on multi-stable nonlinear system under color correlated noise are studied. Using the uniform color noise approximation method, the Fokker-Planck equation of the system is obtained, and the steady-state probability density function of the multi-stable system driven by the multiplicative noise and additive noise is derived. On the basis of this, the formula of MFPT is derived, and the influence of parameters on the MFPT is analyzed. The problem of weak signal detection under color noise background is studied based on multi-stable SR. The results of simulation and experiment show that the method can effectively extract the frequency feature of weak signal in the background of color noise.  相似文献

Considering the time-delayed feedback and environmental perturbations in spin-crossover system, we construct a stochastic delayed differential equation to study the state transitions from the low spin (LS) state to the high spin (HS) state in spin-crossover solids. It is shown that the delayed feedback and noise can induce optical bistability and state transitions. The mean first-passage time (MFPT) of the transition from the LS state to the HS state as the function of the noise intensity exhibits a maximum, and the noise-enhanced stability is observed. However the MFPT decreases with increase of the delayed feedback intensity, thus the delayed feedback accelerates the conversion from the LS state to the HS state.  相似文献

In this paper, the first-passage time (FPT) of periodic potential system driven by correlated noise is discussed. One-dimensional non-Markovian process in the system is stochastically equivalent to two-dimensional Markovian process according to the statistical characteristics of noise. The 5 × 104 response tracks of the system is simulated by the fourth-order Runge-Kutta algorithm, and the FPT of the Brownian particle is recorded, then the mean first-passage time (MFPT) is calculated by averaging these values and the probability density function (PDF) of the FPT is simulated. Finally, the influence of the relevant parameters in the system on MFPT and the PDF of the FPT are discussed. Besides, it is found that resonance activation (RA) phenomenon appears in the system.  相似文献

We derive an equation of motion of mean firat-passage time (MFPT) for the nonlinear system driven by the external and internal noise simultaneously. An approximate formula of MFPT is obtained by the perturbation technique. We find the coupling effect of the internal and the external noise for the MFPT. The transient properties of a bistable system with the stochastic potentials are investigated. The explicit expressions of the mean first-passage time (MFPT) are obtained by using a steepest-descent approximation. The results show that the MFPT of the system increases with the amplitude Δ of the stochastic potential, decreases with the noise intensity D and the correlation length l. In this paper, the effect of every parameter (including p, q, r, \la, \tau) on the mean first-passage time (MFPT) is investigated in an asymmetric bistable system driven by colour-correlated noise. The expression of MFPT has been obtained by applying the steepest-descent approximation. Numerical results show that (1) the intensity of multiplicative noise p and the intensity of additive noise q play different roles in the MFPT of the system, (2) suppression appears on the curve of the MFPT with small \la (e.g. \la<0.5) but there is a peak on the curve of the MFPT when \la is big (e.g. \la >0.5), and (3) with different values of r (e.g. r=0.1, 0.5, 1.5), the effort of \tau on the MFPT is diverse.  相似文献

We study the effects of noise intensity fluctuations on the stationary and dynamical properties of an overdamped Langevin model with a bistable potential and external periodical driving force. We calculated the stationary distributions, mean-first passage time (MFPT) and the spectral amplification factor using a complete set expansion (CSE) technique. We found resonant activation (RA) and stochastic resonance (SR) phenomena in the system under investigation. Moreover, the strength of RA and SR phenomena exhibit non-monotonic behavior and their trade-off relation as a function of the squared variation coefficient of the noise intensity process. The reliability of CSE is verified with Monte Carlo simulations.  相似文献

基于非对称双稳系统的理论研究了偏单稳系统的平均首次穿越时间问题,并基于势函数分析了参数对平均首次穿越时间的影响.得出结论:1)当偏稳系数为零时,随着加性噪声强度和参数a的增加,两个方向的平均首次穿越时间相等且均单调减小,2)随着偏稳系数b的增加,势阱的对称性被破坏,粒子由xs1跃迁到xs2的时间线性地减小,而粒子由xs2跃迁到xs1的时间线性地增加.3)随着乘性噪声强度和加性噪声强度比率R的增加,两个方向平均首次穿越时间均单调增加.  相似文献
