We give a construction of cyclic cocycles on convolution algebras twisted by gerbes over discrete translation groupoids. For proper étale groupoids, Tu and Xu (Adv Math 207(2):455–483, 2006) provide a map between the periodic cyclic cohomology of a gerbe-twisted convolution algebra and twisted cohomology groups which is similar to the construction of Mathai and Stevenson (Adv Math 200(2):303–335, 2006). When the groupoid is not proper, we cannot construct an invariant connection on the gerbe; therefore to study this algebra, we instead develop simplicial techniques to construct a simplicial curvature 3-form representing the class of the gerbe. Then by using a JLO formula we define a morphism from a simplicial complex twisted by this simplicial curvature 3-form to the mixed bicomplex computing the periodic cyclic cohomology of the twisted convolution algebras.  相似文献

In a recent paper we studied general properties of super-KMS functionals on graded quantum dynamical systems coming from graded translation-covariant quantum field nets over ${\mathbb{R}}$ , and we carried out a detailed analysis of these objects on certain models of superconformal nets. In the present article, we show that these locally bounded functionals give rise to local-entire cyclic cocycles (generalized JLO cocycles) which are homotopy-invariant for a suitable class of perturbations of the dynamical system. Thus we can associate meaningful noncommutative geometric invariants to those graded quantum dynamical systems.  相似文献

We extend collisional quantum thermometry schemes to allow for stochasticity in the waiting time between successive collisions. We establish that introducing randomness through a suitable waiting time distribution, the Weibull distribution, allows us to significantly extend the parameter range for which an advantage over the thermal Fisher information is attained. These results are explicitly demonstrated for dephasing interactions and also hold for partial swap interactions. Furthermore, we show that the optimal measurements can be performed locally, thus implying that genuine quantum correlations do not play a role in achieving this advantage. We explicitly confirm this by examining the correlation properties for the deterministic collisional model.  相似文献

With many Hamiltonians one can naturally associate a ||2-distributed Markov process. For nonrelativistic quantum mechanics, this process is in fact deterministic, and is known as Bohmian mechanics. For the Hamiltonian of a quantum field theory, it is typically a jump process on the configuration space of a variable number of particles. We define these processes for regularized quantum field theories, thereby generalizing previous work of John S. Bell [3] and of ourselves [11]. We construct quantum stochastic integrals for the integrator being a martingale in a von Neumann algebra, and the integrand—a suitable process with values in the same algebra, as densely defined operators affiliated with the algebra. The class of stochastic maps, that is, linear, trace-preserving, positive maps between the self-adjoint trace class operators of complex separable Hilbert spaces plays an important role in the representation of reversible dynamics and symmetry transformations. We discuss the main results of Linear Stochastic Electrodynamics, starting from a reformulation of its basic assumptions. This theory shares with Stochastic Electrodynamics the core assumption that quantization comes about from the permanent interaction between matter and the vacuum radiation field, but it departs from it when it comes to considering the effect that this interaction has on the statistical properties of the nearby field. In the transition to the quantum regime, correlations between field modes of well-defined characteristic frequencies arise, which coincide with the transition frequencies of quantum mechanics and are therefore directly related with the energy quantization. The Heisenberg equations of motion of (non-relativistic) quantum electrodynamics are thus obtained. After a detailed consideration of the significance of the approximations made, we present a discussion on some of the most delicate or controversial features of quantum mechanics from the perspective provided by the present theory.  相似文献

We consider a physical system with a coupling to bosonic reservoirs via a quantum stochastic differential equation. We study the limit of this model as the coupling strength tends to infinity. We show that in this limit the solution to the quantum stochastic differential equation converges strongly to the solution of a limit quantum stochastic differential equation. In the limiting dynamics the excited states are removed and the ground states couple directly to the reservoirs.  相似文献

Quantum measurements play a crucial role in quantum mechanics since they perturb, unavoidably and irreversibly, the state of the measured quantum system. More extremely, the constant observation of a quantum system can even freeze its dynamics to a subspace, effectively truncating the Hilbert space of the system. It represents the quantum version of the famous flying arrow Zeno paradox, and is called quantum Zeno dynamics. In general, it can be obtained by applying frequent consecutive quantum measurements that are equally spaced in time. Here, we introduce time disorder in the measurement sequence, and analytically investigate how this temporal stochasticity may affect the confinement probability of the system in the subspace. As main result, we then exploit how different dissipative and coherent Zeno protocols can be generalized to this stochastic scenario. Finally, our analytical predictions are numerically tested on a paradigmatic spin chain where we find a trade‐off between a probabilistic scheme with high fidelity (compared to perfect subspace dynamics) and a deterministic one with a slightly lower fidelity, moving further steps towards new schemes of Zeno‐based control for future quantum technologies.  相似文献

We investigate a quantum counterpart of the classical notion of a stochastic process continuous with probability one, and prove that the L 2-limit of quantum martingales ‘continuous with probability one’ is a quantum martingale ‘continuous with probability one’. We study the quantum Brownian motion of a charged particle in the presence of a magnetic field. From the explicit solution of a quantum Langevin equation we calculate quantities such as the velocity correlation function and the mean-squared displacement. Our calculated expressions contain as special cases the motion of aclassical particle in a magnetic field and that of afree (but quantum) particle, in a dissipative environment.  相似文献

Deformations of associative algebras in which time is the deformation parameter are constructed using quantum stochastic flows in which the usual multiplicativity requirement is replaced by multiplicativity with respect to the deformed multiplication. Quantum Stochastic Walks (QSW) allow for a generalization of both quantum and classical random walks by describing the dynamic evolution of an open quantum system on a network, with nodes corresponding to quantum states of a fixed basis. We consider the problem of quantum state discrimination on such a system, and we solve it by optimizing the network topology weights. We investigate properties of a class of quantum stochastic processes subject to a condition of irreducibility. These processes must be recurrent or transient and an equilibrium state can only exist in the former case. Every finite dimensional process is recurrent and it is possible to establish convergence in time to a unique equilibrium state.
