用矢量微扰动方法分析激光束在粗糙表面上散射的分布特性。详细讨论高斯光束的角谱和适用于准直激光束散射问题的波前分割概念认为,当用入射总功率作归一化因子时,准直粗激光束散射可近似地作为平面波处理,而细激光束散射则与平面波存在很大的差异,利用所得结果讨论了一维粗糙表面的激光隐身作用及椭圆偏振光入射时镜反射方向和后向散射场的偏振态。最后介绍两种线偏振光在粗糙表面上散射分布的差异。实验验证了主要结论。  相似文献

The methods of ellipse detection and phase demodulation for determining wood grain orientation are proposed. These methods are based on the tracheid effect—laser beam impinging upon a wood surface forms an elongated laser spot with its direction indicative of the grain orientation. Experimental results show that the method of ellipse detection is suitable for the grain orientation measurement on planed softwood surfaces, while the method of phase demodulation is capable of extracting the grain orientation precisely from laser images with low signal-to-noise ratio, such as the images on the surfaces of hardwood species or roughsawn materials.  相似文献

Recently it has been shown that the modulus and phase of complex reflection coefficient can be determined using a magnetic substrate and polarized neutrons. Several other methods have also been worked out based on the measurement of polarizations of reflected neutrons from magnetic reference layers and magnetic substrate. However, due to the fact that available reflectometers are limited in the choice of polarization of reflected beam in the same direction as the polarization of the incident beam, neither of the methods, which are based on polarization analysis, have been proven to be experimentally practical. In this paper, we have proposed a new method for determining the phase of reflection coefficient that is based on two measurements of polarization, which correspond to two magnetic fields with the same magnitude and different orientations. The polarization analysis is performed in the same direction as the polarization of the incident beam and is well suited for available reflectometers.The problems envisaged in implementation of the method are also discussed.  相似文献

An axially super-resolved quasi-spherical focal spot can be generated by focusing an amplitude-modulated radially polarized beam through a high numerical aperture objective. A method based on the unique depolarization properties of a circular focus is proposed to design the amplitude modulation. The generated focal spot shows a ratio of x:y:z=1:1:1.48 for the normalized FWHM in three dimensions, compared to that of x:y:z=1:0.74:1.72 under linear polarization (in the x direction) illumination. Moreover, the focusable light efficiency of the designed amplitude-modulated beam is 65%, which is more than 3 times higher than the optimized case under linear polarization and thus make the amplitude-modulated radial polarization beam more suitable for a wide range of applications.  相似文献

A method is proposed for overcoming the famous ‘phase problem’ in neutron specular reflectometry. It is shown that the complex reflection coefficient of any unknown non magnetic layer, with real scattering length density, can be determined by using a magnetic transmitted media and by measuring the polarization of the reflected beam relative to the incident beam. The method follows directly from a recent one which is limited to a one-dimensional neutron polarization. Here, the theory is generalized for a neutron polarization of arbitrary direction. We show that some combinations between the polarization of the incident and reflected beam must be used to determine the reflection coefficient. Also, it is shown that instead of full polarization or reflectivity analysis, some combinations between polarization and reflectivity can be used in the analysis process. The method is supplemented with a schematic example to test the method and its stability in the presence of experimental uncertainties and roughness of the interfaces. Strong polarization dependence is observed in the optical transmission through nanohole arrays in metals. It is shown that the degree of polarization is determined by the ellipticity and orientation of the holes; the polarization axis lies perpendicular to the broad edge of the ellipse. Furthermore, the depolarization ratio shows a squared dependence on the aspect ratio of the holes, which is discussed in terms of coupling into and out of the surface plasmon modes. The observed results will be useful for tailoring the polarization behavior of metallic nanophotonic elements in many applications, including surface plasmon enhanced optical sensing and ultrafast optical switching.  相似文献

基于Richards-Wolf矢量衍射积分公式,数值分析了同轴三环非均匀混合偏振矢量光束经过高数值孔径透镜的聚焦特性。该矢量光束由同轴三环局域线偏振矢量光束通过一个相位延迟角为δ的液晶相位延迟器产生,光束偏振变为包含线偏振、圆偏振和椭圆偏振的混合态。同轴三环局域线偏振矢量光束的偏振分布是由径向向内偏振的外环光束、径向向外偏振的内环光束和线偏振方向与径向方向夹角为φ2的中环光束构成。数值模拟结果显示该混合偏振矢量光束的聚焦强度分布与参数φ2和相位延迟角δ密切相关,当选取适当的φ2和δ时,在焦平面附近产生沿光轴方向的三维多点光俘获结构——暗光链,这在光学微操纵领域具有潜在的应用价值。  相似文献

光学渡越辐射具有良好的方向性,通过对光学渡越辐射空间分布曲线进行拟合可以对束流发散角进行计算。采用理论计算的方法,分析了电子入射到金属-介质界面时,入射角变化对光学渡越辐射二维空间分布的影响。计算分析表明,光学渡越辐射在特定偏振方向上的分布并不仅仅由电子束在该方向的发散角分量决定,同时还受到其他方向发散角分量的影响。计算对比了电子束散角一维分布和二维分布模型下光学渡越辐射空间分布的差异。结果表明,采用一维分布模型拟合计算的电子束均方根发散角存在偏差,较二维分布拟合结果偏小。  相似文献

An analytical propagation formula for the cross-spectral density matrix of a stochastic electromagnetic Gaussian Schell-model (EGSM) beam after propagating through a polarization grating is derived with the help of a tensor method. The statistics properties, particularly the degree of polarization, polarization ellipse and Stokes parameters, of the EGSM beam on propagation after passing through a polarization grating are studied numerically. Our results clearly show that the statistics properties of the EGSM beam on propagation are closely determined by the initial parameters of the EGSM beam and the parameter of the polarization grating. The polarization grating provides one way for modulating the polarization properties of an EGSM beam.  相似文献

电流密度分布是等离子体物理研究的关键分布参数,在托卡马克先进运行模式发展,电流驱动,约束与输运等方面发挥着重要的作用。中性束与等离子体相互作用产生的分裂光谱,包括σ分量与π分量,水平观测时,σ分量的偏振方向垂直于等效电场的方向,π分量的偏振方向平行于等效电场的方向,通过测量分裂光谱的偏振方向可以反演出等离子体电流密度分布。基于光弹调制器的偏振检测系统具有检测精度高、时间响应迅速的独特优点,非常适用于等离子体电流快速变化下的电流密度分布测量。光弹调制器的双折射晶体在周期性外部驱动源的作用下发生弹性形变,其折射率会产生周期性的变化,当偏振光通过时,出射光的偏振特性将相应产生周期性变化,再经过偏振片,形成调制的光强变化。运动斯塔克效应(MSE)诊断的偏振检测系统由两个光弹调制器(PEM)和一个偏振片组成,通过检测不同调制频率的调制强度的比值,从而快速、精确地获得分裂光谱的偏振方向的实时变化,进而得到等离子体电流密度分布。详细介绍了东方超环托卡马克(EAST)装置上的MSE诊断,初步完成了离线测试与标定,参与中性束电流本文驱动物理实验,初步获得了等离子体电流密度分布的信息。  相似文献

The digital holographic technique is applied to analyze the spatial distribution of polarization state of light transmitted through anisotropic objects using an orthogonal linearly polarized reference beam. The polarization orientation of reference beam is switched by an optical fiber Faraday rotator for successive hologram recording. To confirm the principle of polarization analysis, a quarter wave plate (QWP) is used and the distribution of polarization state over the object surface is analyzed for various orientations of the QWP. By providing an area of a known polarization for a part of the object wave as a reference, a phase drift of the reference waves can be evaluated and compensated for using the reference area. The principal axis and ellipticity of polarization ellipse are calculated and compared with their theoretical values. A good agreement between the experimental and theoretical values is observed.  相似文献

The canonical point singularity of elliptically polarized light is a C point, an isolated point of circular polarization surrounded by a field of polarization ellipses. The defining singular property of a C point is that the surrounding ellipses rotate about the point. It is shown that this rotation is seen only for a particular line of sight (LOS) and, conversely, that there exists a unique LOS for every ellipse along which the ellipse is seen as a singularity. It is also shown that changes in LOS can turn singularities into stationary points and vice versa. The democratic behavior of polarization singularities and stationary points is a consequence of the fundamental "what you see is what you get" property of ellipse fields. Simple experiments are proposed for observing this unusual property of elliptically polarized light.  相似文献

Spin polarization of 37K nuclei produced via single proton pickup from a 9Be target by a beam of 150 MeV/nucleon 36Ar has been observed. Positive spin polarization with magnitude (8.5+/-0.6)% was deduced near the peak of the 37K momentum distribution. The variation of the spin polarization as a function of outgoing 37K momentum is explained by a classical conservation model, as previously applied to describe the induced spin polarization observed for fragments produced in intermediate-energy heavy-ion reactions, with the condition that the picked-up proton has an average momentum equal to the Fermi momentum and is aligned along the incident beam direction.  相似文献

Beam profile measurements of laser-wakefield accelerated electron bunches reveal that in the monoenergetic regime the electrons are injected and accelerated at the back of the first period of the plasma wave. With pulse durations ctau >or= lambda(p), we observe an elliptical beam profile with the axis of the ellipse parallel to the axis of the laser polarization. This increase in divergence in the laser polarization direction indicates that the electrons are accelerated within the laser pulse. Reducing the plasma density (decreasing ctau/lambda(p)) leads to a beam profile with less ellipticity, implying that the self-injection occurs at the rear of the first period of the plasma wave. This also demonstrates that the electron bunches are less than a plasma wavelength long, i.e., have a duration <25 fs. This interpretation is supported by 3D particle-in-cell simulations.  相似文献

The inverse Faraday effect, in which a magnetization is induced in a solution through which is passed a polarized light beam of arbitrary ellipticity, is discussed on the basis of the S-matrix formulation of optical birefringence. It is shown that the Faraday effect and the inverse Faraday effect are topologically identical problems of diagrammatic perturbation theory and so it follows automatically that the magnetization should be proportional to the Verdet constant. The optical Faraday effect is the circular birefringence induced by an intense circularly polarized beam of light propagated colinearly with the weak measuring beam: the electric vector of the circularly polarized beam interacts with the molecule in a way that resembles the interaction of a static magnetic field. The interrelations of these two effects and the normal Faraday effect the self-rotation of the polarization ellipse of an intense beam are discussed.  相似文献

Peculiar light-matter interactions can break the rule that a single beam polarization can address only two states in an optical memory device. Multistate storage of a single beam polarization is achieved using self-induced surface diffraction gratings in a photoactive polymer material. The grating orientation follows the incident light beam's polarization direction. The permanent self-induced surface relief grating can be read out in real time using the same laser beam.  相似文献

从理论上和实验上研究了转换反射中光自旋霍尔效应的自旋堆积方向的方法,建立了描述光束在空气-棱镜界面反射的自旋堆积模型,揭示了横移与光束入射偏振角的定性关系。研究发现,当入射角小于布儒斯特角时,随着入射偏振角的逐渐增大,自旋堆积的方向发生反转。而当入射角大于布儒斯特角时,自旋堆积的方向不再随入射偏振角的变化而反转。结果表明,在光束入射角为确定值且小于布儒斯特角的情况下,可以通过调控光束的入射偏振角转换自旋堆积的方向。转换自旋堆积方向的研究为有效调控光自旋霍尔效应提供了新的途径。  相似文献

A polarized monochromatic neutron beam is transmitted through a nickel sheet which has been electrodeposited onto a copper backing. The polarization direction of the incoming beam may be adjusted in three orthogonal directions, while the polarization after transmission through the sample can be analyzed in three independent directions. In this way a (3×3) depolarization matrix can be determined, of which the diagonal elements give the depolarization factors in the successive directions. At zero applied magnetic field and perpendicular transmission no depolarization is observed when the polarization vector is perpendicular to the sheet. The depolarization factors in the other two directions nearly follow a cosine dependence on the neutron wavelength. A structure consisting of domains with magnetization directions perpendicular to the sheet could explain the results. By varying the angle of transmission of the neutron beam with respect to the plane of the sheet one can determine the mean domain size and to some extent the nature of the distribution function of the domain size in the plane of the sheet. In addition, the depolarization has been studied as a function of a magnetic field applied in a direction in the plane of the sheet. The results are compared with magnetization measurements performed in a magnetic field applied in the same direction.  相似文献

We investigate the influence of damping constant on the dynamics process of the magnetic vortex in submicron-size permalloy disks by micromagnetic simulations and analytical calculations. Both of them reveal that damping constant influences the trajectory of vortex core gyrotropic motion strongly. Comparing with the case of no damping constant, the steady-state trajectory of vortex core motion becomes ellipse as the amplitude of the oscillating magnetic filed is small. The ellipse becomes more slab-sided and tilting with increasing of damping constant, and the tilting direction is also dependent on the vortex core polarization. As the amplitude of the magnetic field increases to a value, the polarization of the vortex core will reverse and a new vortex with opposite polarization will be produced. With increasing of damping constant, the minimum oscillating magnetic field amplitude HS0 that can reverse the polarization of the vortex core increases proportionally.  相似文献
