We study a complex non-Newtonian fluid that models the flowof nematic liquid crystals. The fluid is described by a system that couples a forced Navier–Stokes system with a parabolic-type system. We prove the existence of global weak solutions in dimensions two and three.We show the existence of a Lyapunov functional for the smooth solutions of the coupled system and use cancellations that allow its existence to prove higher global regularity in dimension two. We also show the weak–strong uniqueness in dimension two.  相似文献

In this paper,we discuss singularly perturbed semi-linear parabolic equations for one dimension and two dimension,we find numerical solutions by using both the line-method and the exact difference scheme on a special non-uniform discretization mesh.The uniform convergence in e of the first order accuracy is obtained.  相似文献

In this paper we study bound state solutions of a class of two-component nonlinear elliptic systems with a large parameter tending to infinity. The large parameter giving strong intercomponent repulsion induces phase separation and forms segregated nodal domains divided by an interface. To obtain the profile of bound state solutions near the interface, we prove the uniform Lipschitz continuity of bound state solutions when the spatial dimension is N = 1. Furthermore, we show that the limiting nonlinear elliptic system that arises has unbounded solutions with symmetry and monotonicity. These unbounded solutions are useful for rigorously deriving the asymptotic expansion of the minimizing energy which is consistent with the hypothesis of Du and Zhang (Discontin Dynam Sys, 2012). When the spatial dimension is N = 2, we establish the De Giorgi type conjecture for the blow-up nonlinear elliptic system under suitable conditions at infinity on bound state solutions. These results naturally lead us to formulate De Giorgi type conjectures for these types of systems in higher dimensions.  相似文献

结构在随机激励下的非线性响应分析是具有高度挑战性的困难问题. 对于白噪声或过滤白噪声激励,求解FPK方程将获得结构响应 的精确解. 遗憾的是,对于非线性多自由度系统,FPK方程难以直接求解. 事实上,其数值解法严重受限于方程维度,而解析求解 则仅适用于少数特定的系统,且多是稳态解. 因此,将FPK方程进行降维,是求解高维随机动力响应分析问题的重要途径. 本文针 对幅值调制的加性白噪声激励下多自由度非线性结构的非平稳随机响应分析问题,将联合概率密度函数满足的高维FPK方程进行降 维. 针对结构速度响应概率密度函数求解,通过引入等价漂移系数,原FPK方程可转化为一维FPK型方程. 建议了构造等价漂移系数 的条件均值函数方法. 进而,采用路径积分方法求解降维FPK型方程,得到速度概率密度函数的数值解答. 结合单自由度Rayleigh 振子、十层线性剪切型框架和非线性剪切型框架结构在幅值调制的加性白噪声激励下的非平稳速度响应求解,讨论了本文方法的精 度和效率,验证了其有效性.   相似文献

A number of unidirectional transient flows of a second grade fluid in a domain with one finite dimension are studied. The method of integral transforms (Fourier, Hankel or Laplace) is applied to obtain exact solutions. A general theorem on start-up flows for second grade fluids is presented that allows us to determine unidirectional flows of second grade fluids once the corresponding solution is known within the context of the Navier-Stokes theory. In the process of obtaining solutions for the fluid of second grade, we find several new exact solutions within the context of the classical Navier-Stokes theory.  相似文献

A numerical scheme is used to investigate boundary layer effects in a shock tube. The method consists of a mixture of Roe's approximate Riemann solver and central differences for the convective fluxes and central differences for the viscous fluxes and is implicit in one space dimension. Comparisons are made with experimental data and with solutions obtained via boundary layer equations. Examination of the calculated flow field explains the observed behaviour and highlights the approximate nature of boundary layer solutions.  相似文献

We consider a semilinear parabolic equation with a nonlinear non-dissipative boundary condition. In the one-dimensional case we describe bifurcation diagrams for positive and sign-changing equilibria and connecting orbits between these equilibria. We also show that the number of sign-changing stationary solutions strongly depends on the spatial dimension. The results are based on new a priori estimates of global solutions.  相似文献

We consider solutions to the Cauchy problem for the incompressible Euler equations satisfying several additional requirements, like the global and local energy inequalities. Using some techniques introduced in an earlier paper, we show that, for some bounded compactly supported initial data, none of these admissibility criteria singles out a unique weak solution. As a byproduct, in more than one space dimension, we show bounded initial data for which admissible solutions to the p-system of isentropic gas dynamics in Eulerian coordinates are not unique.  相似文献

We investigate solutions of Riemann problems for systems of two conservation laws in one spatial dimension. Our approach is to organize Riemann solutions into strata of successively higher codimension. The codimension-zero stratum consists of Riemann solutions that are structurally stable: the number and types of waves in a solution are preserved under small perturbations of the flux function and initial data. Codimension-one Riemann solutions, which constitute most of the boundary of the codimension-zero stratum, violate structural stability in a minimal way. At the codimension-one stratum, either the qualitative structure of Riemann solutions changes or solutions fail to be parameterized smoothly by the flux function and the initial data. In this paper, we give an overview of the phenomena associated with codimension-one Riemann solutions. We list the different kinds of codimension-one solutions, and we classify them according to their geometric properties, their roles in solving Riemann problems, and their relationships to wave curves.  相似文献

In this paper, we study a fractal model for the transport of a volatile component from a nonaqueous-phase liquids (NAPL) trapped in homogeneous soil. By introducing a kind of new integral transform in fractal space, analytical solutions of fractal model are given. The principal focus of the article is the construction of classical weak solutions of the initial value problem for a class of systems of viscoelasticity in arbitrary spatial dimension. The class of systems studied is large enough to incorporate certain requirements dictated by frame indifference and also has a structure which allows for a variational treatment of the time-discretized problem. Weak solutions for this system are constructed under certain monotonicity hypotheses and are shown to satisfy various a priori estimates, in particular giving improved regularity for the time derivative. Also measure-valued solutions are obtained under a uniform dissipation condition, which is much weaker than monotonicity. A special case of the viscoelastic system is the gradient flow of a non-convex potential, for which measure-valued solutions are here obtained, a new result in the vectorial case. Furthermore, in this setting it is possible to show that these measure-valued solutions satisfy a certain property which ensures they coincide with the classical weak solution when this exists, as for example in the convex case where existence and uniqueness are well known. A nonlinear boundary-value problem for shells is formulated. The problem statement permits us to analyze the behavior of the postbuckling solutions in a finite-dimensional space with the dimension independent of the discretization technique. A branching pattern is established for the solutions of the problem in the case of a uniform external pressure. Four characteristic types of solution are recognized in the case of an arbitrary external pressure. The associated buckling loads are determined. An algorithm is presented for the extension of a hyperbolic system of balance laws to a system of higher dimension, in such a manner that weak solutions of the original system form a subset of the weak solutions of the extended system. Hyperbolicity and the symmetry group of the original system survive the extension, and some information on the characteristic speeds of the extended system is obtained. Asymptotic formulae are derived for solutions to the Stokes problem in domains which, outside a ball, coincide with the three-dimensional layer \Bbb R2 ×(0,1) {\Bbb R}^2 \times (0,1) . The properties of detached asymptotic terms differ in the transversal and longitudinal directions. In order to justify the asymptotic expansions the procedure of dimension reduction is employed together with estimates for miscellaneous weighted norms of the solutions.  相似文献

This paper is the fifth in a series that undertakes a systematic investigation of Riemann solutions of systems of two conservation laws in one spatial dimension. In this paper, three degeneracies that can occur only in Riemann solutions that contain doubly sonic transitional shock waves, together with the degeneracies that pair with them, are studied in detail. Conditions for a codimension-one degeneracy are identified in each case, as are conditions for folding of the Riemann solution surface. Simple examples are given, including a numerically computed Riemann solution that contains a doubly sonic transitional shock wave.  相似文献

We study the long time behaviour of the solutions of the third grade fluids׳ equations in dimension 2. Introducing scaled variables and performing several energy estimates in weighted Sobolev spaces, we describe the first order of an asymptotic expansion of these solutions. It shows in particular that, under smallness assumptions on the data, the solutions of the third grade fluids׳ equations converge to self-similar solutions of the heat equations, which can be computed explicitly from the data.  相似文献
