The isoscalar and isovector collective multipole excitations in exotic nuclei are studied in the framework of a fully self-consistent relativistic continuum random phase approximation (RCRPA). In this method the contri- bution of the continuum spectrum to nuclear excitations is treated exactly by the single particle Green's function. Different from the cases in stable nuclei, there are strong low-energy excitations in neutron-rich nuclei and proton-rich nuclei. The neutron or proton excess pushes the centroid of the strength function to lower energies and increases the fragmentation of the strength distribution. The effect of treating the contribution of continuum exactly is also discussed.  相似文献

Vibrational modes in suspensions of soft colloids in a fluid can be detected experimentally by Brillouin light scattering. Besides the usual acoustic mode, being essentially the longitudinal phonon of the liquid matrix, an "opticlike" mode is observed in giant starlike micelles at low volume fractions. We propose that this opticlike mode is due mainly to the internal vibration of each hairy particle.  相似文献

We investigate the role of higher multipole excitations in the electromagnetic dissociation of one-neutron halo nuclei within two different theoretical models --a finite-range distorted-wave Born approximation and another in a more analytical method with a finite-range potential. We also show, within a simple picture, how the presence of a weakly bound state affects the breakup cross-section.  相似文献

We analyzed the presently available experimental data on nucleon electromagnetic form factors within a multipole model based on dispersion relations. A good fit of the data is achieved by considering the coefficients of the multipole expansions as logarithmic functions of the momentum transfer squared. The superconvergence relations, applied to this coefficients, makes the model agree with unitary constraints and pQCD asymptotics for the Dirac and Pauli form factors. The soft photon emission is proposed as a mechanism responsible for the difference between the Rosenbluth, polarization and beam-target asymmetry data. It is shown that the experimentally measured cross-sections depend not only on the Dirac and Pauli form factors, but also on the average number of the photons emitted. For the proton this number is shown to be different for different types of experimental measurements and then estimated phenomenologically. For the neutron the same mechanism predicts that the data form different types of experiments must coincide with high accuracy. A joint fit of all the experimental data reproduce the Q2-dependence with the accuracy χ2/dof = 0.86 . Predictions of the model, that 1) the ratios of the proton form factors G E/G M are different for Rosenbluth, polarization and beam-target asymmetry experiments and 2) similar ratios are nearly the same for neutron, can be used for experimental verification of the model.  相似文献

Paring correlations and soft dipole excitations in weakly bound nuclei on the edge of neutrondrip line are studied by using a three-body model. A density-dependent contact interaction is employed to calculate the ground state of halo nuclei 6He and 11Li, as well as a skin nucleus 24O. Dipole excitations in these nuclei are also studied within the same model. We point out that the dineutron-type correlation plays a dominant role in the halo nuclei 6He and 11Li having the coupled spin of the two neutrons S = 0, while the correlation similar to the BCS type is important in 24O. Contributions of the spin S = 1 and S = 0 configurations are separately discussed in the low-energy dipole excitations. The calculated results are compared with recent experimental data of 6He and 11Li. The text was submitted by the authors in English.  相似文献

The subject of consideration is the time dependence of the field in the near-field zone of an (acoustic or electric) dipole generating a nonmonochromatic signal smoothly varying with time. It is shown that this dependence is approximately the same at different points in the near-field zone; i.e., the smooth signal does not lag in time, as it might with regard to a finite velocity of wave propagation. The absence of delay is a result of interference between two identical but differently damped and delayed copies of one signal that are emitted from two monopoles constituting the dipole. The same is true for an arbitrary electroneutral (as a whole) set of nonstationary charges (in particular, for a nonstationary quadrupole, octupole, etc.).  相似文献

The magnetic excitations in multiferroic TbMnO3 have been studied by inelastic neutron scattering in the spiral and sinusoidally ordered phases. At the incommensurate magnetic zone center of the spiral phase, we find three low-lying magnons whose character has been fully determined using neutron-polarization analysis. The excitation at the lowest energy is the sliding mode of the spiral, and two modes at 1.1 and 2.5 meV correspond to rotations of the spiral rotation plane. These latter modes are expected to couple to the electric polarization. The 2.5 meV mode is in perfect agreement with recent infrared-spectroscopy data giving strong support to its interpretation as a hybridized phonon-magnon excitation.  相似文献

Literature definitions of magnetic multipole moment operators are shown to be at variance, and new definitions are formulated which are consistent with a general multipole interaction hamiltonian and with the radiation field of a dynamic charge distribution. The applicability of traceless multipole moments is examined.

The multipole hamiltonian is used to derive expressions for some magnetic quadrupole distortion tensors. For those describing the quadrupole moment induced by a magnetic field and by a field gradient the number of independent components for various molecular symmetries is evaluated.  相似文献

Within the framework of semiclassical approximation a general formalism for deriving an effective current generating bremsstrahlung of arbitrary number of soft gluons (longitudinal or transverse ones) in scattering of higher-energy parton off thermal parton in hot quark-gluon plasma with subsequent extension to two and more scatterers is obtained. For the case of static color centers, an expression for energy loss induced by usual bremsstrahlung of lowest-order with allowance for an effective temperature-induced gluon mass and finite mass of the projectile (heavy quark) is derived. The detailed analysis of contribution to radiation energy loss associated with existence of effective three-gluon vertex induced by hot QCD medium is performed. It is shown that in general, the bremsstrahlung associated with this vertex has no sharp direction (as in the case of usual bremsstrahlung) and therefore here, we can expect an absence of suppression effect due to multiple scattering. For the case of two-color static scattering centers it was shown that the problem of calculation of bremsstrahlung induced by four-gluon hard thermal loop (HTL) vertex correction can be reduced to the problem of the calculation of bremsstrahlung induced by three-gluon HTL correction. It was shown that for limiting value of soft gluon occupation number Nk 1/αs all higher processes of bremsstrahlung of arbitrary number of soft gluons become of the same order in coupling, and the problem of resummation of all relevant contributions to radiation energy loss of fast parton, arises. An explicit expression for matrix element of two soft gluon bremsstrahlung in small angles approximation is obtained.  相似文献

Within the framework of the hard thermal loop effective theory we derive a system of Boltzmann-like kinetic equations taking into account the simplest processes of nonlinear interaction of soft fermionic and bosonic QCD plasma excitations: elastic scattering of soft-(anti)quark excitations off soft-gluon and soft-quark excitations, pair production of soft quark–antiquark excitations, annihilation into two soft-gluon excitations. The matrix elements of these processes to leading order in the coupling constant g are obtained. The iterative method of calculation of the matrix elements for the higher processes of soft-mode interactions is proposed. The most general expression for the emitted radiant power induced by the effective currents and effective sources in a quark–gluon plasma (QGP) taking into account an existence of fermion sector of plasma excitations is defined. The explicit form of the linearized Boltzmann equation accounting for scattering of color(less) plasminos off color(less) plasmons is written out.  相似文献
