Working in the large-N approximation (N being the number of colors), we relate thestrong η′→ηππ processes to theweak K L→πππ decays. Chiral corrections are crucial to reproduce the experimental data. The isospin-violating η(η′)→πππ and the weakηK +π- decays are also treated in this framework. We comment on the predictions of a “QCD-inspired” approach which determines in principle the chiral symmetry-breaking scales considered, and consequently the Skyrme coupling.  相似文献

We perform the model independent analysis of possibilities of looking for new gauge bosons in radiative decays of π0, η, η′ mesons. For this purpose we consider various experimental constraints on properties of light gauge bosons. It is shown that the branching ratios of these decays can be as large as: BR(π0→γ+X)?10?3, BR(η→γ+X)?10?4, BR(η′→γ+X)?10?6, what is highly interesting from the experimental point of view.  相似文献

We propose a new method for estimating the radiative transitions between the excited 1? charmonium levels and ηc. The method is based on QCD (plus the hypothesis of local duality) and makes no reference to the standard potential picture. It is argued that the decay ψ′(3.698)→η c γ is essentially due to the gluon admixture in the Ψ′ wave function. The most naive analysis yields approximately 0.15 keV for the ψ′→η c γ decay width, five times smaller than preliminary data. The experimental number for Γ(ψ′→η c γ)—0.7 keV—can be reproduced only at a price of introducing a rather large ψ″(3.772)→η c γ amplitude, Γ(ψ″→η c γ)~1 keV. As a byproduct, we get a reliable prediction for the ρ→πγ decay rate, Γ(ρ→πγ)≈70 keV, in good agreement with a recent measurement.  相似文献

We investigate in detail the light plane formulation of bound state equations and of the interactions of bound states. This formalism is particularly well suited to discuss bound states of heavy quarks since these states can be well approximated as two particle states but yet there are significant relativistic corrections to the conventional nonrelativistic approach. Applications are made to electromagnetic decays of charmonium (ψ→e + e ?, η c →γγ, ψ′→η c γ, etc.).  相似文献

We calculate radiative corrections to the flavor-changing neutral current process Kπ ? + ? ?, both for charged and neutral kaon decays. While the soft-photon approximation is shown to work well for the muon channels, we discuss the necessity of further phase space cuts with electrons in the final state. It is also shown how to transfer our results to other decays such as ηγ ? + ? ? or ωπ 0 ? + ? ?.  相似文献

In an optical spark chamber experiment we have obtained a sample of 80 eta Dalitz decays (ηe+e?γ) and have measured the eta electromagnetic form factor to be F(X) = 1.0?(0.22 ±0.45)X, where X=Mee2/Mη2, and the branching ratio (ηe+e?γ/(ηπ+π?π0)= (0.0082 ± 0.0020).  相似文献

In a search for very rare decays of the K+ meson we observed the K+μ+νe+e? and K+→e+ν e+e? modes with branching ratios of (10±3) ×10?7 and (2+2?2)×10?7 respectively. We also put new limits on a decay allowed by the alternate scheme of lepton conservation K+π?μ+e+, on a decay with double charged weak current K+π? e+e+ and on other forbidden decays K+μ?νe+e+ and K+π+μ±e±.  相似文献

The radiative decayη′→π + π ? γ has been studied with the statistics of ?2000 events. Different ways of describingm ππ distribution are considered. It is shown that if the dominating contribution to this process is made by the decay channel η′→ργ, then the generally accepted ways of describing the ρ peak do not agree with experimental data.  相似文献

The reaction π? p→η′η′n has been studied atp π=37 GeV/c. Total of 14 events of this reaction have been selected. It has been shown that in the effective mass spectrum of the η′η′ system the events are concentrated mainly near the reaction threshold, which might be caused by the decayX(1910)→η′η′. A search for φ radiative decays has been performed using a data sample of about 2.0 million φ decays collected by the CMD-2 detector at VEPP-2M collider in Novosibirsk. From the selected e+eπ+πγ events the following results were obtained:B(φf0(980)γ)<1×10−4 for destructive andB(φf0(980)γ)<7×10−4 for constructive interference with the Bremsstrahlung process respectively,B(φγπ+πγ)<3×10−5 for Eγ>20 MeV,B(φργ)<7×10−4. From the selected e+eμ+μγ eventsB(φμ+μγ)=(2.3±1.0)×10−5 has been obtained for Eγ>20 MeV. The upper limit on the P,CP-violating decay ηπ+π has also been placed:B(ηπ+π)<9×10−4. Upper limits for the production of new light gauge bosons in π0, η and η′ decays have been obtained with the Crystal Barrel detector. The kinematically well-constrained reactions p?p → π0π0 P have been studied, where P ? π 0, η, η′ decays through the emission of a single photon recoiling against a missing state X. X can be a long-lived weakly interacting particle or it decays into ???. The resulting branching ratio upper limits (90 % C.L.) are: 6 × 10?5 for masses M X of the missing particle X lying between 65 MeV/c2 and 125 MeV/c20 decay), 6 × 10?5 for M X between 200 MeV/c2 and 525 MeV/c2 (gh decay), and 4 × 10?5 for M X between 50 MeV/c2 and 925 MeV/c2 (η′ decay). The π0-decay limit represents an improvement by a factor of 4 to 8 (depending on M X) when compared to the existing limit, whereas the η and η′ decay limits have been measured for the first time, thereby extending the M X range from 125 MeV/c2 up to 925 MeV/c2.  相似文献

We study the leptonic CP violation effects in leptoquark models. We show that in general the leptoquark contribution to the longitudinal muon polarization effect inημ + μ ? decay is very small and in a model which has no couplings induced by the leptoquark between different generations, both the electric dipole moment of electron or muon and longitudinal polarization of electron in π0,ηe + e ? decays can be large.  相似文献

Weak radiative decaysK L,S →π+π?γ andK +→π+π0γ are reexamined. The electromagnetic form factors and long-distance contributions to the direct photon emission are evaluated using the higher order effective chiral Lagrangian. We find that (1) the naive soft-pion theorem cannot be applied to the magnetic-type transition amplitude, (2) the shortdistance contribution toK L →π+π?γ is comparable to or even bigger than the long-distance one, (3) the ΔI=1/2 enhancement persists in the decayK +→π+π0γ, (4) to the order of 1/Λ χ 2 (Λ χ being the chiral-symmetry breaking scale) the direct photon emission amplitude does not receive a contribution from penguin operators, and (5) the 1/N c expansion improves the discrepancy between theory and experiment.  相似文献

In lowest order of QCD, the rates for radiative transitions violating the OZI rule of heavy pseudoscalars are found to be extremely small. The ηcγ + ?, ω, ? width is predicted two orders of magnitude below present experimental bounds on X(2.8) → γ+π+π?. The unique design of the PHENIX detector at the Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider allows one to detect neutral and charged particles produced in high-energy collisions of heavy ions. This circumstance made it possible to measure many-particle decays of light mesons, such as K S 0 →π0π0, η→π0π?π+, and η→γγ in p + p, d + Au and Au + Au collisions at the energy \(\sqrt {S_{NN} }\) = 200 GeV. The latest results of measuring the differential production cross sections, ratios of particle yields (K S 0 0 and η/π0), and the nuclear modification factors (\(R_{dA}^{K_S }\), R dA η , R AA η ) in a wide range of transverse momenta (from 2 to 12 GeV s?1) are reported.  相似文献

We analyse theK→πππ decays in the framework of a chiral Lagrangian supplemented by the 1/N expansion (N being the number of colors). The measuredK L →π+π0π+ Dalitz plot is very well reproduced. Contrary to a recent claim, the Li-Wolfenstein relation between the CP impurities associated with theK→πππ(ε+0?) and theK→ππ(ε′) decay amplitudes is rather stable against isospin-breaking effects and higher-order (in the chiral expansion) weak operator corrections. We also predict a branching ratio of 2.1 10?7 for the CP-conservingK S →π+π0π+ decay.  相似文献

The cross section for the reactione + e ?3S1+1S0 is calculated in the framework of perturbative QCD, using the nonrelativistic approximation for the3S1 and1S0 bound states. The model is applied toJ/Ψ plus η,η,η′, andl production. We find extremely small rates in contrast to previous estimates based on vector meson dominance and discuss possible reasons for this difference.  相似文献
