This paper addresses Gabor analysis on a discrete periodic set. Such a scenario can potentially find its applications in signal processing where signals may present on a union of disconnected discrete index sets. We focus on the Gabor systems generated by characteristic functions. A sufficient and necessary condition for a set to be a tight Gabor set in discrete periodic sets is obtained; discrete periodic sets admitting a tight Gabor set are also characterized; the perturbation of tight Gabor sets is investigated; an algorithm to determine whether a set is a tight Gabor set is presented. Furthermore, we prove that an arbitrary Gabor frame set can be represented as the union of a tight Gabor set and a Gabor Bessel set.  相似文献

We obtain an estimate of the upper bound for Kolmogorov's ε-entropy for the bounded sets with small "tail" in discrete spaces, then we present a sufficient condition for the existence of a global attractor for dissipative lattice systems in a reflexive Banach discrete space and establish an upper bound of Kolmogorov's ε-entropy of the global attractor for lattice systems.  相似文献

The periodic multiresolution analysis (PMRA) and the periodic frame multiresolution analysis (PFMRA) provide a general recipe for the construction of periodic wavelets and periodic wavelet frames, respectively. This paper addresses PFMRAs by the introduction of the notion of spectrum sequence. In terms of spectrum sequences, the scaling function sequences generating a normalized PFMRA are characterized; a characterization of the spectrum sequences of PFMRAs is obtained, which provides a method to construct PFMRAs since its proof is constructive; a necessary and sufficient condition for a PFMRA to admit a single wavelet frame sequence is obtained; a necessary and sufficient condition for a PFMRA to be contained in a given PMRA is also obtained. What is more, it is proved that an arbitrary PFMRA must be contained in some PMRA. In the meanwhile, some examples are provided to illustrate the general theory.  相似文献

The piecewise algebraic variety is the set of all common zeros of multivariate splines. We show that solving a parametric piecewise algebraic variety amounts to solve a finite number of parametric polynomial systems containing strict inequalities. With the regular decomposition of semi-algebraic systems and the partial cylindrical algebraic decomposition method, we give a method to compute the supremum of the number of torsion-free real zeros of a given zero-dimensional parametric piecewise algebraic variety, and to get distributions of the number of real zeros in every n-dimensional cell when the number reaches the supremum. This method also produces corresponding necessary and sufficient conditions for reaching the supremum and its distributions. We also present an algorithm to produce a necessary and sufficient condition for a given zero-dimensional parametric piecewise algebraic variety to have a given number of distinct torsion-free real zeros in every n-cell in the n-complex. This paper addresses multiwindow Gabor systems on discrete periodic sets, which can model signals to appear periodically but intermittently. We give some necessary and/or sufficient conditions for multiwindow Gabor systems to foe frames on discrete periodic sets, and characterize two multiwindow Gabor Bessel sequences to foe dual frames on discrete periodic sets. For a given multiwindow Gabor frame, we derive all its Gabor duals, among which we obtain an explicit expression of the canonical Gabor dual. In addition, we generalize multiwindow Gabor systems to the case of a different sampling rate for each window, and investigate multiwindow Gabor frames and dual frames in this case. We also show the properties of the multiwindow Gabor systems are essentially not changed by replacing the exponential kernel with other kernels.  相似文献

Using the methods of dynamical systems for the (n + 1)-dimensional multiple sine-Gordon equation, the existences of uncountably infinite many periodic wave solutions and breaking bounded wave solutions are obtained. For the double sine-Gordon equation, the exact explicit parametric representations of the bounded traveling solutions are given. To guarantee the existence of the above solutions, all parameter conditions are determined. Some convergence results of one-leg methods for nonlinear neutral delay integro-differential equations (NDIDEs) are obtained. It is proved that a one-leg method is E (or EB) -convergent of order p for nonlinear NDIDEs if and only if it is A-stable and consistent of order p in classical sense for ODEs, where p = 1, 2. A numerical example that confirms the theoretical results is given in the end of this paper. Due to its potential applications in multiplexing techniques such as time division multiple access and frequency division multiple access, superframe has interested some mathematicians and engineering specialists. In this paper, we investigate super Gabor systems on discrete periodic sets in terms of a suitable Zak transform matrix, which can model signals to appear periodically but intermittently. Complete super Gabor systems, super Gabor frames and Gabor duals for super Gabor frames on discrete periodic sets are characterized; An explicit expression of Gabor duals is established, and the uniqueness of Gabor duals is characterized. On the other hand, discrete periodic sets admitting complete super Gabor systems, super Gabor frames, super Gabor Riesz bases are also characterized. This paper studies both the average sample-path reward (ASPR) criterion and the limiting average variance criterion for denumerable discrete-time Markov decision processes. The rewards may have neither upper nor lower bounds. We give sufficient conditions on the system’s primitive data and under which we prove the existence of ASPR-optimal stationary policies and variance optimal policies. Our conditions are weaker than those in the previous literature. Moreover, our results are illustrated by a controlled queueing system. This is a continuation of the paper [14]. It is shown that any finite subdirect product of exchange rings satisfying the n-stable range condition is still an exchange ring satisfying the n-stable range condition. Furthermore, we give necessary and sufficient conditions on matrices over an exchange ring R, under which R satisfies the n-stable range condition. In this paper, we show that if V 0 is an isometric mapping from the unit sphere of an AL-space onto the unit sphere of a Banach space E, then V 0 can be extended to a linear isometry defined on the whole space. In this paper, we study the extension of isometries between the unit spheres of normed space E and lP(p 〉 1). Using the theory of existence of periodic solutions of Hamiltonian systems, it is shown that many periodic solutions of differential delay equations can be yielded from many families of periodic solutions of the coupled generalized Hamiltonian systems. Some sufficient conditions on the existence of periodic solutions of differential delay equations are obtained. As a corollary of our results, the conjecture of Kaplan-Yorke on the search for periodic solutions for certain special classes of scalar differential delay equations is shown to be true when . Basic facts for Gabor frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p on local field are investigated. Accurately, that the canonical dual of frame {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p also has the Gabor structure is showed; that the product ab decides whether it is possible for {Eu(m)bTu(n)ag}m,n∈p to be a frame for L2(K) is discussed; some necessary conditions and two sufficient conditions of Gabor frame for L2(K) are established. From Maxwell’ s equations for electromagnetic fields, time-averaged energy flow density vector of stable monochromatic linearly polarized light in an isotropic insulative nonmagnetic medium is deduced. By the introduction of time-averaged energy flow density rays and the definition of new generalized refractive indexn G1, Fermat’s principle of geometric optics is further generalized and its application conditions are discussed. The generalized Fermat' s principle can be used to describe stable transmission of light in a medium with variable refractive index. The necessary and sufficient conditions of a nondivergent and nonfocusing light beam are derived from this Fermat’s principle.
