The geometry of the tangent bundle is used to define a particular class of metrics called adapted bi-conformal. These metrics are defined and studied on the holomorphic cotangent bundle of a Kähler manifold. Kählerian adapted bi-conformal metrics are totally classified and their curvature expressed. The Eguchi-Hanson metric appears as a particular example.  相似文献

In this article we introduce the notion of P-proper splitting for square matrices. For an inconsistent linear system of equations \(Ax =b\), we associate an iterative method based on a P-proper splitting of A, which if convergent, converges to the best least squares solution of this system. We extend a result of Stein, using which we prove that if A is positive semidefinite, then the said iterative method converges. Also, we generalize Sylvester’s law of inertia and as an application of this generalization we establish some properties of P-proper splittings. Finally, we prove a comparison theorem for iterative methods associated with P-proper splittings of a positive semidefinite matrix.  相似文献

An M-matrix as defined by Ostrowski is a matrix that can be split into A = sI ? B, s > 0, B ? 0 with s ? ρ(B), the spectral radius of B. For a Cr,-immersion z:X E, r 2, 0 < < 1, of an n-dimensional (n 1) simply-connected Cr+2,-manifold X into Euclidean space E, the metric I(z) induced by z has a neighborhood in Cr,-topology in which every metric from a given subbundle of metrics is Cr,-immersible into E. In particular, it is proved that metric ds 0 2 of the Riemannian product of p spheres of dimensions 1, , p 2 has a neighborhood in C2,-topology from which any conformally equivalent metric to ds 0 2 , is immersible into E with dimE = 1 + + p + p. We present a new construction of Poisson transforms between vector bundle valued differential forms on homogeneous parabolic geometries and vector bundle valued differential forms on the corresponding Riemannian symmetric space, which can be described in terms of finite dimensional representations of reductive Lie groups. In particular, we use these operators to relate the BGG-sequences on the domain to twisted deRham sequences on the target space. Finally, we explicitly design a family of Poisson transforms between standard tractor valued differential forms for the real hyperbolic space and its boundary which are compatible with the BGG-complex.  相似文献

We define the notion of a ``peripheral splitting' of a group. This is essentially a representation of the group as the fundamental group of a bipartite graph of groups, where all the vertex groups of one colour are held fixed--the ``peripheral subgroups'. We develop the theory of such splittings and prove an accessibility result. The theory mainly applies to relatively hyperbolic groups with connected boundary, where the peripheral subgroups are precisely the maximal parabolic subgroups. We show that if such a group admits a non-trivial peripheral splitting, then its boundary has a global cut point. Moreover, the non-peripheral vertex groups of such a splitting are themselves relatively hyperbolic. These results, together with results from elsewhere, show that under modest constraints on the peripheral subgroups, the boundary of a relatively hyperbolic group is locally connected if it is connected. In retrospect, one further deduces that the set of global cut points in such a boundary has a simplicial treelike structure.

Lagrangians related to submersions and foliations, which are analogous to Riemannian submersions and Riemannian foliations respectively are studied in the paper. One prove that a bundle-like Lagrangian, a transverse hyperregular Lagrangian, a hyperregular Lagrangian foliated cocycle or a geodesic orthogonal property are equivalent data for a foliation. A conjecture of E. Ghys is proved in a more general setting than that of Finslerian foliations: a foliation that has a transverse positively definite Lagrangian is a Riemannian foliation. One extend also a result of Miernowski and Mozgawa on Finslerian foliations, proving that the natural lift to the normal bundle of a Lagrangian foliation that has a transverse positively definite Lagrangian is a Riemannian foliation.  相似文献

We discuss a nonindependent (beam) splitting for which the related thinning leaves the class of equilibrium states for a one mode electromagnetic field invariant. The thinning affects only the parameters of the state, showing a nonlinear loss of energy. After the splitting, the energy values of both split parts are independent. This independence is a characteristic property of the geometric distribution, the distribution of energy values in the equilibrium state. Motivated by the study of V-rings, we introduce the concept of V-category, as a Grothendieck category with the property that any simple object is injective. We present basic properties of V-categories, and we study this concept in the special case of locally finitely generated categories, for instance the category R-gr of all graded left R-modules, where R is a graded ring. We use the characterizations of V-categories in the study of graded V-rings. Since V-rings are closely related to Von Neumann regular rings (in the commutative case these classes of rings coincide), the last part of the article is devoted to graded regular rings.  相似文献

Averaging operations are considered in connection with exponential splitting methods. Toeplitz plus Hankel related matrices are resplit by applying appropriate averaging operators leading to a hierarchy of structured matrices. With the resulting parts, the option of using exponential splitting methods becomes available. A related, seemingly important group of unitary unipotents is looked at. Based on a formula due to Lenard, a very fast iterative method to find the nearest Toeplitz plus Hankel matrix in the Frobenius norm is devised.  相似文献
