The energy, geometrical parameters and vibrational wavenumbers of crotonaldehyde were calculated by using ab initio and B3LYP with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311G(d,p) basis sets. The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for liquid state crotonaldehyde have been recorded in the region 3400-400 cm(-1) and 3400-100 cm(-1), respectively and compared with the theoretical spectrographs constructed from the scaled harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated at HF and DFT levels. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. Detailed interpretations on vibrational modes have been made on the observed and theoretical spectra and PED for each mode was also reported more precisely. HOMO and LUMO energy levels are constructed and the corresponding theoretical frontier energy gaps are calculated to realise the charge transfer occurring in the molecule. The thermodynamic properties of the title compound have been calculated at different temperatures and the results reveals the standard heat capacities (C(0)(p)), standard entropies (S(0)) and standard enthalpy changes (ΔH(0)) increases with rise in temperature.  相似文献

The FTRaman and FTIR spectra for Toluic acid (TA) have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1) and compared with the harmonic vibrational frequencies calculated using HF/DFT (LSDA and B3LYP) method BY employing 6-311G (d, p) basis set with appropriate scale factors. IR intensities and Raman activities are also calculated by HF and DFT (LSDA/B3LYP) methods. Optimized geometries of the molecule have been interpreted and compared with the reported experimental values for benzoic acid and some substituted benzoic acids. The experimental geometrical parameters show satisfactory agreement with the theoretical prediction from HF and DFT. The scaled vibrational frequencies at B3LYP/6-311G (d, p) seem to coincide with the experimentally observed values with acceptable deviations. The theoretical spectrograms (IR and Raman) have been constructed and compared with the experimental FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra. Some of the vibrational frequencies of the TA are effected upon profusely with the methyl substitutions in comparison to benzoic acid and these differences are interpreted.  相似文献

In this work, we report a combined experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure (monomer, dimer), vibrational spectra, and Natural Bond Orbital (NBO) analysis of non-ionized L-cysteine (LCY). The FT-IR solid phase (4000-400 cm(-1)) and FT-Raman spectra (3500-50 cm(-1)) of LCY was recorded at room temperature. The molecular geometry, harmonic and anharmonic vibrational frequencies and bonding features of LCY in the ground state have been calculated by using the density functional method (B3LYP) with 6-311G(d,p) as basis set. The assignments of the vibrational spectra have been carried out with the help of normal co-ordinate analysis (NCA) following the Scaled Quantum Mechanical Force Field (SQMFF) methodology. The first order hyperpolarizability (β(0)) of this novel molecular system and related properties (β, α(0) and Δα) of LCY are calculated using HF/6-311G(d,p) method on the finite-field approach. Stability of the molecule has been analyzed using NBO analysis. The calculated first hyperpolarizability shows that the molecule is an attractive molecule for future applications in non-linear optics. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. Finally the calculations results were applied to stimulate infrared and Raman spectra of the title compound which show good agreement with observed spectra.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of 1-bromonaphthalene (1-BN) were studied. FTIR and FT Raman spectra were recorded in the region 4000-400 cm(-1) and 3500-50 cm(-1), respectively. The structural and spectroscopic data of the molecule in the ground state were calculated by using ab initio Hartree-Fock and density functional method (B3LYP) with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies were calculated and scaled values were compared with experimental FTIR and FT Raman spectra. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The complete assignments were performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The optimized geometric parameters were calculated. The predicted first hyperpolarizability also shows that the molecule might have a reasonably good nonlinear optical (NLO) behaviour. The calculated HOMO-LUMO energy gap reveals that charge transfer occurs within the molecule.  相似文献

The molecular vibrations of xanthine were investigated in polycrystalline sample, at room temperature by Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) and FT-Raman spectroscopies. The spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the regions 4000-50 cm(-1) and 3500-100 cm(-1), respectively. Theoretical information on the optimized geometry, harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared and Raman intensities were obtained by means of ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and density functional theory (DFT) gradient calculations with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-311++G(d,p) basis set. The vibrational frequencies which were determined experimentally from the spectral data are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio and DFT calculations. A close agreement was achieved between the observed and calculated frequencies by refinement of the scale factors. The infrared and Raman spectra were also predicted from the calculated intensities. Thermodynamic properties like entropy, heat capacity, zero point energy have been calculated for the molecule. Unambiguous vibrational assignment of all the fundamentals was made using the potential energy distribution (PED).  相似文献

The Fourier-transform infrared spectrum of 1,2-dichloro-4-nitrobenzene (DCNB) was recorded in the region 4000-400cm(-1). The Fourier-transform Raman spectrum of DCNB was also recorded in the region 3500-50cm(-1). Quantum chemical calculations of energies, geometrical structure and vibrational wavenumbers of DCNB were carried out by ab initio HF and density functional theory (DFT/B3LYP) method with 6-31+G(d,p) basis set. The difference between the observed and scaled wavenumber values of most of the fundamentals is very small. The values of the total dipole moment (μ) and the first-order hyperpolarizability (β) of the investigated compound were computed using ab initio quantum mechanical calculations. The calculated results also show that the DCNB might have microscopic nonlinear optical (NLO) behavior with non-zero values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of DCNB is also reported based on total energy distribution (TED). The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies shows that charge transfer occur within the molecule. The theoretical FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra for the title compound have also been constructed.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical study on molecular structure and vibrational spectra of 4-nitrotoluene are studied. The FTIR and FTRaman experimental spectra of the molecule have been recorded in the range of 4000–100 cm?1. Making use of the recorded data, the complete vibrational assignments are made and analysis of the observed fundamental bands of molecule is carried out. The experimental determinations of vibrational frequencies are compared with those obtained theoretically from ab initio HF and DFT quantum mechanical calculations using HF/6-31G (d, p), B3LYP/6-31++G* (d, p) and B3LYP/6-311++G* (d, p) methods. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals are very small in B3LYP than HF. The geometries and normal modes of vibrations obtained from ab initio HF and B3LYP calculations are in good agreement with the experimentally observed data. Comparison of the simulated spectra provides important information about the ability of the computational method (B3LYP) to describe the vibrational modes. The vibrations of NO2 and CH3 groups coupled with skeletal vibrations are also investigated.  相似文献

A combined experimental and theoretical study on molecular and vibrational structure of 2,3-dimethyl naphthalene (2,3-DMN) has been undertaken in the present work. The FTIR and FT Raman spectra of 2,3-DMN were recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1). The optimized geometries were calculated by HF and DFT (B3LYP) methods with 6-31++G (d, p), 6-311G (d, p) and 6-311++G (d, p) basis sets. The harmonic vibrational frequencies, infrared intensities and Raman activities of the 2,3-DMN were evaluated with these methods. After scaling the computational wave numbers are in very good agreement with the experimental values. A detailed interpretation of the infrared and Raman spectra of 2,3-DMN is presented. The effects of substitution of methyl group on the molecule have also been discussed.  相似文献

The FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of 3-Bromo phenol (3-BP) molecule have been recorded using Bruker IFS 66V spectrometer in the range of 4000-100 cm(-1). The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies in the ground state are calculated by using the ab initio Hartree-fock (HF) and DFT (B3LYP) methods with 6-31G (d, p) and 6-311G (d, p) basis sets. The computed values of frequencies are scaled using a suitable scale factor to yield good coherence with the observed values. Making use of the recorded data, the complete vibrational assignments are made and analysis of the observed fundamental bands of molecule is carried out. The geometries and normal modes of vibrations obtained from ab initio HF and B3LYP calculations are in good agreement with the experimentally observed data. The differences between the observed and scaled wave number values of most of the fundamentals are very small in DFT than HF. FT-IR and FT-Raman spectra of p-fluoronitrobenzene (FNO(2)C(6)H(4)) have been recorded in the region 4000-100 cm(-1). In this work, the experimental and theoretical spectra of p-fluoronitrobenzene (p-FNBz) are studied. The molecular geometry and vibrational frequencies are calculated in the ground state of molecule using ab initio Hartree-Fock (HF) and DFT (B3LYP and LSDA) methods with 6-31++G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. The computed values of frequencies are scaled to yield good coherence with observed values by using suitable factor. The complete assignments are performed on the basis of the total energy distribution (TED) of the vibrational modes, calculated with scaled quantum mechanics (SQM) method. The observed and calculated frequencies are found to be in very good agreement. The alteration of vibration bands due to the substitutions at the first and fourth position of the skeletal ring is also investigated from their characteristic region of linked spectrum. A study on the electronic properties, such as absorption wavelengths, excitation energy, dipole moment and frontier molecular orbital energies, are performed by time dependent DFT (TD-DFT) approach. The electronic structure and the assignment of the absorption bands in the electronic spectra of steady compounds are discussed. The calculated HOMO and LUMO energies show that charge transfer occurs within the molecule. The thermodynamic properties of the title compound at different temperatures have been calculated in gas phase, revealing the correlations between standard heat capacities (C) standard entropies (S), standard enthalpy changes (H) and temperatures.  相似文献

Infrared spectra of 3,3,3-trifluoropropyltrichlorosilane (CF3CH2CH2SiCl3) were obtained in the vapour, amorphous and crystalline solid phases in the range 4000-50 cm-1. Additional spectra in argon matrices at 5.0 K were recorded before and after annealing to 20-36 K. Raman spectra of the compound as a liquid were recorded at various temperatures between 298 and 210 K and spectra of the amorphous and crystalline solids were obtained. The spectra suggested the existence of two conformers (anti and gauche) in the fluid phases and in the matrix. When the vapour was shock-frozen on a cold finger at 80 K and subsequently annealed to 120-150 K, six weak or very weak Raman bands vanished in the crystal. Similar variations were observed in the corresponding infrared spectra after annealing and four very weak IR bands disappeared after crystallization. From intensity variations between 298 and 210 K of three Raman band pairs an average value Delta(conf)H degrees (gauche-anti)=6.1+/-0.5 kJmol-1 was obtained in the liquid. Annealing experiments indicate that the anti conformer also has a lower energy in the argon matrices. The conformational equilibrium is highly shifted towards anti in the liquid, and the low energy conformer also forms the crystal. The spectra of the abundant anti conformer and the few bands ascribed to the gauche conformer have been interpreted. Ab initio calculations at the HF/6-311G(**) and B3LYP/6-311G(**) gave optimized geometries, infrared and Raman intensities and vibrational frequencies for the anti and gauche conformers. The conformational energy differences derived were 11.8 and 9.2 kJmol-1 from the HF and the B3LYP calculations, respectively.  相似文献

A systematic vibrational spectroscopic assignment and analysis of benzohydrazide (BH) has been carried out by using FTIR and FT-Raman spectral data. The vibrational analysis were aided by electronic structure calculations--ab initio (RHF) and hybrid density functional methods (B3LYP and B3PW91) performed with 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311++G(d,p) basis sets. Molecular equilibrium geometries, electronic energies, IR intensities, harmonic vibrational frequencies, depolarization ratios and Raman activities have been computed. Potential energy distribution (PED) and normal mode analysis have also been performed. The assignments proposed based on the experimental IR and Raman spectra have been reviewed and complete assignment of the observed spectra have been proposed. UV-visible spectrum of the compound was also recorded and the electronic properties, such as HOMO and LUMO energies and λ(max) were determined by time-dependent DFT (TD-DFT) method. The geometrical, thermodynamical parameters and absorption wavelengths were compared with the experimental data. The interactions of carbonyl and hydrazide groups on the benzene ring skeletal modes were investigated.  相似文献

In this work, the experimental and theoretical vibrational spectra of P-Iodobenzene sulfonyl chloride (P-IBSC) were studied. P-IBSC and its derivatives present in many biologically active compounds. Because of their spectroscopic properties and chemical significance in particular, sulfonyl chloride and its derivatives have been studied extensively by spectroscopic (FTIR and FT-Raman spectra) and theoretical methods. The infrared spectra of these compounds were recorded in condensed states, while the Raman spectra were measured without polarization using both parallel and perpendicular polarizations of scattered light. The molecular geometry, highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO), lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (LUMO), first order hyperpolarizability and thermodynamic properties of P-IBSC have been computed with the help of density functional theory (B3LYP) and ab initio (HF) methods with the LanL2DZ basis set. The HOMO and LUMO energy gap explains the charge transfer interactions taking place within the molecule. NBO study explains charge delocalization of the molecule. The contributions of the different modes to each wave number were determined using potential energy distributions (PEDs). The experimental and calculated results were consistent with each other.  相似文献

The FTIR and FT-Raman spectra of 2,4-dinitrophenylhydrazine (2,4-DNPH) has been recorded in the region 4000-400 and 3500-50cm-1, respectively. The optimized geometry, frequency and intensity of the vibrational bands of 2,4-DNPH were obtained by the ab initio and density functional theory (DFT) levels of theory with complete relaxation in the potential energy surface using 6-31G(d,p) and 6-311G(d,p) basis sets. The harmonic vibrational frequencies were calculated and the scaled values have been compared with experimental FTIR and FT-Raman spectra. The observed and the calculated frequencies are found to be in good agreement. The experimental spectra also coincide satisfactorily with those of theoretically constructed bar type spectrograms.  相似文献
