We report the synthesis and the characterizations of a novel dyad composed of a zinc porphyrin (ZnP) linked to a gold porphyrin (AuP) through an ethynyl spacer. The UV/Vis absorption spectrum and the electrochemical properties clearly reveal that this dyad exhibits a strong electronic coupling in the ground state as evidenced by shifted redox potentials and the appearance of an intense charge‐transfer band localized at λ=739 nm in dichloromethane. A spectroelectrochemical study of the dyad along with the parent homometallic system (i.e., ZnP–ZnP and AuP–AuP) was undertaken to determine the spectra of the reduced and oxidized porphyrin units. Femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopic analysis showed that the photoexcitation of the heterometallic dyad leads to an ultrafast formation of a charge‐separated state (+ZnP–AuP.) that displays a particularly long lifetime (τ=4 ns in toluene) for such a short separation distance. The molecular orbitals of the dyad were determined by DFT quantum‐chemical calculations. This theoretical study confirms that the observed intense band at λ=739 nm corresponds to an interporphyrin charge‐transfer transition from the HOMO orbital localized on the zinc porphyrin to LUMO orbitals localized on the gold porphyrin. Finally, a Hyper–Rayleigh scattering study shows that the dyad possesses a large first molecular hyperpolarizability coefficient (β=2100×10?30 esu at λ=1064 nm), thus highlighting the valuable nonlinear optical properties of this new type of push–pull porphyrin system.  相似文献

A series of functionalized porphyrin molecules containing electron‐rich alkynes, synthesized by means of the Sonogashira coupling reaction were further modified by reacting the ethynyl groups with click reagent through a formal [2+2] click reaction. The photophysical and electrochemical properties of the porphyrin derivatives were studied by UV/Vis spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. We show that the optoelectronic properties are affected by the click reagent groups and central metal ions. The functionalized porphyrin molecules show strong charge‐transfer (CT) bands in the visible region (near‐IR region) and potent redox activities. Through a phase‐exchange self‐assembly method, the highly organized morphologies were observed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The functionalized porphyrin molecules represent an interesting set of candidates for optoelectronic device components. The effect of the metal ions or click reagent groups on the self‐assembly properties were also studied by the UV/Vis spectroscopic titration experiments.  相似文献

The synthesis of structurally relevant compounds that model the chemical behavior and supramolecular aggregation of the asphaltenes, the most polar and metal‐rich fraction of heavy petroleum, has been extended to include fusions of important petroleum biomarkers. The synthetic protocol features a multicomponent reaction to form a dyad composed of a fused steroidal naphthoquinoline, followed by a pyrrole cyclocondensation reaction to incorporate the dyad into a chiral triad containing a NiII‐porphyrin substituent. This synthetic protocol has been used to prepare large molecules that represent both “continental” and “archipelago” models of asphaltene composition. The steroid–naphthoquinoline–porphyrin triads have been studied by UV/Vis and circular dichroism (CD) spectroscopies, and the results suggest that the naphthoquinoline core, a tetrahydro[4]helicene, adopts a helical conformation, producing a CD signal electronically related to the characteristic Soret absorption band of the porphyrin subunit. Finally, supramolecular aspects of asphaltene aggregation have been examined on a molecular level through analysis of axial coordination of pyridine to the Ni‐porphyrin. The relative affinity of pyridine for binding to the Ni center of the porphyrin is evaluated by comparing binding propensities in a series of sterically differentiated substituted porphyrins.  相似文献

A π‐conjugated twelve‐porphyrin tube is synthesized in 32 % yield by a template‐directed coupling reaction that joins together six porphyrin dimers, forming twelve new C? C bonds. The nanotube has two bound templates, enclosing an internal volume of approximately 4.5 nm3. Its UV/Vis/NIR absorption and fluorescence spectra resemble those of a previously reported six‐porphyrin ring, but are red‐shifted by approximately 300 cm?1, reflecting increased conjugation. Ultrafast fluorescence spectroscopy demonstrates extensive excited‐state delocalization. Transfer of electronic excitation from an initially formed state polarized in the direction of the nanotube axis (z axis) to an excited state polarized in the xy plane occurs within 200 fs, resulting in a negative fluorescence anisotropy on excitation at 742 nm.  相似文献

Free‐base and nickel porphyrin–diaminopurine conjugates were formed by hydrogen‐bond directed assembly on single‐stranded oligothymidine templates of different lengths into helical multiporphyrin nanoassemblies with highly modular structural and chiroptical properties. Large red‐shifts of the Soret band in the UV/Vis spectroscopy confirmed strong electronic coupling among assembled porphyrin–diaminopurine units. Slow annealing rates yielded preferentially right‐handed nanostructures, whereas fast annealing yielded left‐handed nanostructures. Time‐dependent DFT simulations of UV/Vis and CD spectra for model porphyrin clusters templated on the canonical B‐DNA and its enantiomeric form, were employed to confirm the origin of observed chiroptical properties and to assign the helicity of porphyrin nanoassemblies. Molar CD and CD anisotropy g factors of dialyzed templated porphyrin nanoassemblies showed very high chiroptical anisotropy. The DNA‐templated porphyrin nanoassemblies displayed high thermal and pH stability. The structure and handedness of all assemblies was preserved at temperatures up to +85 °C and pH between 3 and 12. High‐resolution transition electron microscopy confirmed formation of DNA‐templated nickel(II) porphyrin nanoassemblies and their self‐assembly into helical fibrils with micrometer lengths.  相似文献

Oxidative chemical vapour deposition of (5,15-diphenylporphyrinato)nickel(II) (NiDPP) with iron(III) chloride as oxidant yielded a conjugated poly(metalloporphyrin) as a highly coloured thin film, which is potentially useful for optoelectronic applications. This study clarified the reactive sites of the porphyrin monomer NiDPP by HRMS, UV/Vis/NIR spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and EPR spectroscopy in combination with quantum chemical calculations. Unsubstituted meso positions are essential for successful polymerisation, as demonstrated by varying the porphyrin meso substituent pattern from di- to tri- and tetraphenyl substitution. DFT calculations support the proposed radical oxidative coupling mechanism and explain the regioselectivity of the C−C coupling processes. Depositing the conjugated polymer on glass slides and on thermoplastic transparent polyethylene naphthalate demonstrated the suitability of the porphyrin material for flexible optoelectronic devices.  相似文献

An electron donor–acceptor dyad based on a polychlorotriphenylmethyl (PTM) radical subunit linked to a tetrathiafulvalene (TTF) unit through a π‐conjugated N‐phenyl–pyrrole–vinylene bridge has been synthesized and characterized. The intramolecular electron transfer process and magnetic properties of the radical dyad have been evaluated by cyclic voltammetry, UV/Vis spectroscopy, vibrational spectroscopy, and ESR spectroscopy in solution and in the solid state. The self‐assembling abilities of the radical dyad and of its protonated non‐radical analogue have been investigated by X‐ray crystallographic analysis, which revealed that the radical dyad produced a supramolecular architecture with segregated donor and acceptor units in which the TTF subunits were arranged in 1D herringbone‐type stacks. Analysis of the X‐ray data at different temperatures suggests that the two inequivalent molecules that form the asymmetric unit of the crystal of the radical dyad evolve into an opposite degree of electronic delocalization as the temperature decreases.  相似文献

Allyloxyporphyrin‐functionalized multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWCNT‐TPP) were synthesized by radical polymerization and characterized by FTIR, UV/Vis absorption, and X‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy; elemental analysis; TEM; and thermogravimetric analysis. Z‐scan studies revealed that this nanohybrid exhibits enhanced nonlinear optical (NLO) properties compared to a control sample consisting of a covalently unattached physical blend of MWCNTs and porphyrin, as well as to the separate MWCNTs and porphyrin. At the wavelengths used, the mechanism of enhanced optical limiting likely involves reverse saturable absorption, nonlinear scattering, and photoinduced electron/energy transfer between the MWCNTs and the porphyrin. The role of electron/energy transfer in the NLO performance of MWCNT‐TPP was investigated by Raman and fluorescence spectroscopy.  相似文献

Fullerene (C(60)) and 3,4,9,10-perylene tetracarboxylic diimide (PTDCI) were used as building blocks for an electron acceptor dyad (C(60)-PTCDI) and triad (C(60)-PTCDI-C(60)). As the first reduction potentials for C(60) and PTCDI are very close, simultaneous introduction of two or three electrons is possible into the dyad and triad, respectively. Further stepwise electrochemical reduction leads to formation of a series of well-defined anionic species in which electrons associated with the fullerene or the PTDCI components of the molecule can be clearly distinguished. In total, up to four electrons can be reversibly injected into the dyad C(60)-PTCDI and up to six into the triad C(60)-PTCDI-C(60) system. The optical absorption properties in the UV/Vis range are also crucially defined by the distribution of electrons between the acceptor parts, as the injection/removal of electrons causes drastic colour changes in the dyad and the triad systems.  相似文献

For the first time it has been shown by spectroscopic studies such as circular dichroism and UV/Vis that cationic zinc porphyrin serves as a selective spectroscopic sensor that is able to recognize short left‐handed Z‐DNA tracts embedded in the B‐Z‐B sequences.  相似文献

Four different porphyrin–imide dyads bearing different central metals (zinc or rhodium) and different substituents on the porphyrin macrocycles (tert‐butyl or methoxy) were synthesized for single molecular diode measurements. The molecules were designed to separate the donor component (porphyrin) from the acceptor component (imide) by bonding in a perpendicular arrangement, thus enhancing the rectification properties. UV/Vis absorption spectra and density functional theory calculations showed that the design was successful and that the molecular orbitals of the dyads were the summation of the two components, with minimal interaction between them. The effect of the central metal was found to be significant, with the lowest energy absorption for the zinc dyads being attributed to the mixed state of charge transfer from porphyrin to imide and the Q band, whereas that of the rhodium dyads indicated insignificant charge‐transfer character.  相似文献

Ethynyl-bridged porphyrin-corrole dyads and triads were synthesized by using Pd(0) mediated coupling reactions and their structures were characterized by NMR, FT-IR, UV/Vis and fluorescence techniques. Besides spectroscopic techniques, computational studies at B3LYP/6-311G(d,p) level of DFT were also used to elucidate the minimum energy geometries and the molecular orbital characteristics of the new dyads and triads. DFT calculations pointed out the presence of charge separated donor-acceptor property between macrocycles of dyads and triads, and the emission studies indicated an excited state interaction between macrocycles, and energy transfer from the porphyrin to the corrole unit.  相似文献

A coumarin derivative with a malonate unit has been synthesized and used for the preparation of a fullerene–coumarin dyad through the Bingel cyclopropanation method. The newly synthesized dyad is soluble in organic solvents and has been fully characterized with traditional spectroscopic techniques. Electronic interactions between the two components of the dyad were probed with the aid of UV/Vis spectroscopy, fluorescence emission, and electrochemistry measurements. Our studies clearly show the presence of electronic interactions between C60 and modified coumarin in the ground state; efficient electron‐transfer quenching of the singlet excited state of the coumarin moiety by the appended fullerene sphere was also observed. Time‐resolved fluorescence measurements revealed lifetimes for the coumarin–C60 dyad at a maximum of 50 ps, while the quantum yield was reaching unity. Additionally, the redox potentials of the C60–coumarin dyad were determined and the energetics of the electron‐transfer processes were evaluated. Finally, after alkaline treatment of C60–coumarin, which resulted in the deprotection of carboxylate units, the dyad was tested as a metal receptor for divalent metal cations; ion competition studies and fluorescence experiments showed binding selectivity for lead ions.  相似文献

Bicyclo[2.2.2]octadiene (BCOD) fused azuliporphyrins were synthesized by 3+1 porphyrin synthesis of azulitripyrranes with diformylpyrroles. Subsequent retro‐Diels–Alder reaction of the BCOD‐fused azuliporphyrins afforded azulibenzo‐, azulidibenzo‐, and azulitribenzoporphyrins 1 – 5 . NMR and UV/Vis spectra, as well as nucleus‐independent chemical shift (NICS) calculations revealed that 1 – 5 and their diprotonated dications exhibit relatively low porphyrinoid aromaticity, which was dependent on the position and number of fused benzene rings present.  相似文献

A series of planar and nonplanar free‐base β‐pyrrole substituted meso‐tetraarylporphyrins were characterized by electrochemistry, spectroelectrochemistry, and protonation or deprotonation reactions in neutral, acidic, and basic solutions of CH2Cl2. The neutral compounds are represented as H2(P), in which P represents a porphyrin dianion with one of several different sets of electron‐withdrawing or ‐donating substituents at the messo and/or β‐pyrrole positions of the macrocycle. The conversion of H2(P) to [H4(P)]2+ in CH2Cl2 was accomplished by titration of the neutral porphyrin with trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) while the progress of the protonation was monitored by UV/Vis spectroscopy, which was also used to calculate logβ2 for proton addition to the core nitrogen atoms of the macrocycle. Cyclic voltammetry was performed after each addition of TFA or TBAOH to CH2Cl2 solutions of the porphyrin and half‐wave potentials for reduction were evaluated as a function of the added acid or base concentration. Thin‐layer spectroelectrochemistry was used to obtain UV/Vis spectra of the neutral and protonated or deprotonated porphyrins under the application of an applied reducing potential. The magnitude of the protonation constants, the positions of λmax in the UV/Vis spectra and the half‐wave or peak potentials for reduction are then related to the electronic properties of the porphyrin and the data evaluated as a function of the planarity or nonplanarity of the porphyrin macrocycle. Surprisingly, the electroreduction of the diprotonated nonplanar porphyrins in acid media leads to H2(P), whereas the nonplanar H2(P) derivatives are reduced to [(P)]2? in CH2Cl2 containing 0.1 M tetra‐n‐butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP). Thus, in both cases an electrochemically initiated deprotonation is observed.  相似文献

A series of N‐confused free‐base meso‐substituted tetraarylporphyrins was investigated by electrochemistry and spectroelectrochemistry in nonaqueous media containing 0.1 M tetra‐n‐butylammonium perchlorate (TBAP) and added acid or base. The investigated compounds are represented as (XPh)4NcpH2, in which “Ncp” is the N‐confused porphyrin macrocycle and X is a OCH3, CH3, H, or Cl substituent on the para position of each meso‐phenyl ring of the macrocycle. Two distinct types of UV/Vis spectra are initially observed depending upon solvent, one corresponding to an inner‐2H form and the other to an inner‐3H form of the porphyrin. Both forms have an inverted pyrrole with a carbon inside the cavity and a nitrogen on the periphery of the π‐system. Each porphyrin undergoes multiple irreversible reductions and oxidations. The first one‐electron addition and first one‐electron abstraction are located on the porphyrin π‐ring system to give π‐anion and π‐cation radicals with a potential separation of 1.52 to 1.65 V between the two processes, but both electrogenerated products are unstable and undergo a rapid chemical reaction to give new electroactive species, which were characterized in the present study. The effect of the solvent and protonation/deprotonation reactions on the UV/Vis spectra, redox potentials and reduction/oxidation mechanisms is discussed with comparisons made to data and mechanisms for the structurally related free‐base corroles and porphyrins.  相似文献

Dynamic assembly inclusion complexes of tweezer-type bis(zinc porphyrin) (1) with di(4-pyridyl)porphyrin derivatives have been designed and constructed. The complexes are induced by Zn-N coordination, and the weak binding allows the large-size di(4-pyridyl)porphyrin guests in random rotation. Dynamic characteristics of these assemblies, such as ligand exchange and dynamic fluorescence quenching, have been investigated by 1H NMR, UV-Vis and fluorescence spectra. The stability of such assembly has pronounced dependence on the size-matching effect and thermal effect.  相似文献

In this work is reported the preparation and characterization of 5,10,15,20‐tetraphenylporphyrin (H2TPP) films at the water‐air interfaces. The surface pressure‐area isotherms (π‐A) and UV‐Vis spectroscopy were used to investigate the effect of the spreading methods and parameters on the porphyrin monolayer formation. Also, Langmuir‐Blodgett (LB) and Langmuir‐Schaefer (LS) films were deposited onto glass substrates in order to study the conformation changes in porphyrin molecular packing. Quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) was utilized as the active solid substrate for the development of the NO2 gas sensor based on the H2TPP molecular films. The results of π‐A curves have clearly shown the significant contribution of the preparation methods and processing parameters on the conformation of porphyrin molecular films. The UV‐Vis spectroscopy results using polarized absorption dichroism have indicated different molecular packing for porphyrin films deposited by LB and LS methods, with relative tilted angles of 50° ± 5° and 35° ± 5°, respectively. Moreover, the QCM response has given strong evidence that H2TPP porphyrin molecular films have performed as NO2 chemsensor. Copyright © 2011 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

A set of chlorin-chlorin and oxochlorin-oxochlorin dyads has been prepared with components in the same or different metalation states. In each case a 4,4'-diphenylethyne linker spans the respective 10-position of each macrocycle. The dyads have been studied using static and time-resolved absorption and emission spectroscopy, resonance Raman spectroscopy, and electrochemical techniques. Excited-state energy transfer from a zinc chlorin to a free-base (Fb) chlorin occurs with a rate constant of (110 ps)(-1) and an efficiency of 93%; similar values of (140 ps)(-1) and 83% are found for the corresponding oxochlorin dyad. Energy transfer in both dyads is slower and less efficient than found previously for the analogous porphyrin dyad, which displays a rate of (24 ps)(-1) and a yield of 99%. The slower rates and diminished efficiencies in the ZnFb chlorin and oxochlorin dyads versus the ZnFb porphyrin dyad are attributed to substantially weaker linker-mediated through-bond (TB) electron-exchange coupling (as indicated by resonance Raman data). Although the through-space (TS, i.e., dipole-dipole) coupling in the ZnFb-chlorin and -oxochlorin dyads is enhanced relative to the ZnFb porphyrin dyad (as indicated by F?rster calculations), this enhancement is insufficient to compensate for the greatly diminished TB coupling. Taken together, the chlorin and oxochlorin dyads examined herein serve as benchmarks for elucidating the energy-transfer, electrochemical, and other properties of light-harvesting arrays containing multiple chlorins or oxochlorins.  相似文献
