Dioxygen activation by copper complexes is a valuable method to achieve oxidation reactions for sustainable chemistry. The development of a catalytic system requires regeneration of the CuI active redox state from CuII. This is usually achieved using extra reducers that can compete with the CuII(O2) oxidizing species, causing a loss of efficiency. An alternative would consist of using a photosensitizer to control the reduction process. Association of a RuII photosensitizing subunit with a CuII pre‐catalytic moiety assembled within a unique entity is shown to fulfill these requirements. In presence of a sacrificial electron donor and light, electron transfer occurs from the RuII center to CuII. In presence of dioxygen, this dyad proved to be efficient for sulfide, phosphine, and alkene catalytic oxygenation. Mechanistic investigations gave evidence about a predominant 3O2 activation pathway by the CuI moiety.  相似文献

Summary FeIII, CoII, NiII and CuII complexes of a new Schiff base, 2-phenyl-1,2,3-triazole-4-carboxalidene-2-aminophenol (PTCAP), have been synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, molar conductance and magnetic susceptibility measurements, and by u.v.-vis., i.r. and e.p.r. spectral observations. The studies indicate an octahedral structure for the complexes with the general formula [ML2] (M = CoII, NiII or CuII.; L = PTCAP) or [M′(OH)L2] (M′ = FeIII). The i.r. spectra suggest that the ligand acts as a tridentate (NNO) donor towards CoII, NiII and CuII, and, in the FeIII complex, one of the two ligand molecules acts as a bidentate (NO) donor and the other as a tridentate donor. The M?ssbauer spectrum of the FeIII complex suggests the presence of a spin equilibrium at room temperature. Cyclic voltammograms are also recorded for the CuII and FeIII complexes.  相似文献

The Gly‐His‐Lys (GHK) peptide and the Asp‐Ala‐His‐Lys (DAHK) sequences are naturally occurring high‐affinity copper(II) chelators found in the blood plasma and are hence of biological interest. A structural study of the copper complexes of these peptides was conducted in the solid state and in solution by determining their X‐ray structures, and by using a large range of spectroscopies, including EPR and HYSCORE (hyperfine sub‐level correlation), X‐ray absorption and 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy. The results indicate that the structures of [CuII(DAHK)] in the solid state and in solution are similar and confirm the equatorial coordination sphere of NH2, two amidyl N and one imidazole N. Additionally, a water molecule is bound apically to CuII as revealed by the X‐ray structure. As reported previously in the literature, [CuII(GHK)], which exhibits a dimeric structure in the solid state, forms a monomeric complex in solution with three nitrogen ligands: NH2, amidyl and imidazole. The fourth equatorial site is occupied by a labile oxygen atom from a carboxylate ligand in the solid state. We probe that fourth position and study ternary complexes of [CuII(GHK)] with glycine or histidine. The CuII exchange reaction between different DAHK peptides is very slow, in contrast to [CuII(GHK)], in which the fast exchange was attributed to the presence of a [CuII(GHK)2] complex. The redox properties of [CuII(GHK)] and [CuII(DAHK)] were investigated by cyclic voltammetry and by measuring the ascorbate oxidation in the presence of molecular oxygen. The measurements indicate that both CuII complexes are inert under moderate redox potentials. In contrast to [CuII(DAHK)], [CuII(GHK)] could be reduced to CuI around ?0.62 V (versus AgCl/Ag) with subsequent release of the Cu ion. These complete analyses of structure and redox activity of those complexes gave new insights with biological impact and can serve as models for other more complicated CuII–peptide interactions.  相似文献

Summary Several new complexes of the title ligand (H2MPTS) with CoII, NiII, CuII, and CdII have been prepared. Structural assignments of the complexes have been made based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic moment and spectral (i.r.,1H n.m.r., reflectance) studies. The compounds are non-conductors in dimethylsulphoxide. The neutral molecule is coordinated to the metal(II) sulphate as a bidentate ligandvia the two carbonyl groups. The ligand reacts with the metal(II) chlorides with the liberation of two hydrogen ions, behaving as a bianionic quadridentate (NONO) donor. Enolization is confirmed by the pH-titration of H2 MPTS and its metal(II) complexes against NaOH. A distorted octahedral structure is proposed for the CuII complex, while a square planar structure is suggested for both CoII and NiII complexes. The stoichiometry of the complexes formed in EtOH and buffer solutions, their apparent formation constants and the ranges for obedience to Beer's law are reported for CoII, NiII and CuII ions. The ligand pK values are calculated. The antimicrobial activity of H2 MPTS and its CoII, NiII, CuII and MnII complexes is demonstrated.  相似文献

Transition metal complexes of arginine (using Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) cations separately) were synthesized and characterized by FTIR, TG/DTA‐DrTG, UV‐Vis spectroscopy and elemental analysis methods. Cu(II)‐Arg complex crystals was found suitable for x‐ray diffraction studies. It was contained, one mole CuII and Na+ ions, two arginate ligands, one coordinated aqua ligand and one solvent NO3? group in the asymmetric unit. The principle coordination sites of metal atom have been occupied by two N atoms of arginate ligands, two carboxylate O atoms, while the apical site was occupied by one O atom for CuII cation and two O atoms for CoII, NiII, ZnII atoms of aqua ligands. Although CuII ion adopts a square pyramidal geometry of the structure. CoII, NiII, ZnII cations have octahedral due to coordination number of these metals. Neighbouring chains were linked together to form a three‐dimensional network via hydrogen‐bonding between coordinated water molecule, amino atoms and O atoms of the bridging carboxylate groups. CuII complex was crystallized in the monoclinic space group P21, a = 8.4407(5) Å, b = 12.0976(5) Å, c = 10.2448(6) Å, V = 1041.03(10) Å3, Z = 2. Structures of the other metal complexes were similar to CuII complex, because of their spectroscopic studies have in agreement with each other. Copper complex has shown DNA like helix chain structure. Lastly, anti‐bacterial, anti‐microbial and anti‐fungal biological activities of complexes were investigated.  相似文献

Summary Complexes of CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII, CdII, HgII and UO 2 II with benzil bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone), H2BPT, have been synthesized and their structures assigned based on elemental analysis, molar conductivity, magnetic susceptibility and spectroscopic measurements. The i.r. spectra suggest that the ligand behaves as a binegative quadridentate (NSSN) (CoII, CuII, HgII and UO 2 II complexes) or as a binegative quadridentate-neutral bidentate chelating agent (NiII, ZnII and CdII complexes). Octahedral structures for the CoII and NiII complexes and square-planar structure for the CuII complex are suggested on the basis of magnetic and spectral evidence. The crystal field parameters (Dq, B and B) for the CoII complex are calculated and agree fairly well with the values reported for known octahedral complexes. The ligand can be used for the microdetermination of NiII ions of concentration in the 0.4–6×10–4 mol l–1 range and the apparent formation constant for the species generated in solution has also been calculated.  相似文献

Reactions of carbonate radical (Co3 ) generated by photolysis or by radiolysis of a carbonate solution, with Cu(II) complexes of aminopolycarboxylic acids viz., Cu(II)ethylenediamine tetraacetate [CuIIEDTA]2− and Cu(II)-iminodiacetate [CuIIIDA] were studied at pH 10. 5 and ionic strength 0.2 mol·dm−3. Time-resolved spectroscopy and kinetics for the transients were studied using flash photolysis and stable products arising from the ligand degradation of the complex were ascertained by steady-state radiolysis experiments. From the kinetic data it is observed that CO3 , radical reacts initially with CuII-complex to form a transient intermediate having maximum absorption at 335 nm and 430 nm. From the subsequent reactions of this intermediate it was assigned to be CuIII. species. This Cu(III) species undergoes intermolecular electron transfer with the CuII-complex to give a radical intermediate which again slowly reacts with CuII-complex to give a long lived species containing Cu−C bond. This long lived species, however, slowly decomposed to give glyoxalic reaction between CuIII-complex and a suitable donor, the one electron reduction potential for [CuIIIEDTA]1−/[CuIIEDTA]2− and [CuIIIIDA]+1/CuIIIDA was determined.  相似文献

A ZnII‐CuI‐ZnII heterotrimetal complex of decaphyrin was synthesized by stepwise metalations: metalation of a [46]decaphyrin with ZnII ions to produce a 46π decaphyrin bis(ZnII) complex and its subsequent metalation with CuII ion. In the second metalation step, it has been shown that CuII ion is reduced to a CuI ion in the complex and a dianionic bis(ZnII) containing [46]decaphyrin ligand is oxidized to the corresponding monoanionic [45]decaphyrin ligand, indicating a non‐innocent nature of the decaphyrin ligand. Despite the radical nature, the heterotrimetal complex is fairly stable under ambient conditions and exhibits almost no intermolecular magnetic interaction, owing to extensive delocalization of an unpaired electron in the large π‐conjugated circuit of decaphyrin moiety.  相似文献

Mononuclear copper(II) and trinuclear cobalt(II) complexes, namely [Cu(L1)]2 · CH2Cl2 and [{Co(L2)(EtOH)}2Co(H2O)] · EtOH {H2L1 = 4,6‐dichloro‐6′‐methyoxy‐2,2′‐[1,1′‐(ethylenedioxydinitrilo)dimethylidyne]diphenol and H3L2 = 6‐ethyoxy‐6′‐hydroxy‐2,2′‐[1,1′‐(ethylenedioxydinitrilo)dimethylidyne]diphenol}, were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR and UV/Vis spectroscopy, and single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction. In the CuII complex, the CuII atom is four‐coordinate, with a N2O2 coordination sphere, and has a slightly distorted square‐planar arrangement. Interestingly, the obtained trinuclear CoII complex is different from the common reported 2:3 (L:CoII) salamo‐type CoII complexes. Infinite 2D layer supramolecular structures are formed via abundant intermolecular hydrogen bonding and π ··· π stacking interactions in the CuII and CoII complexes.  相似文献

Summary Reaction of one mole of acetylacetone with two moles of 4-phenylthiosemicarbazide yields the unusual Schiff base, MeC(=N-NHCSNHPh)CH2C(=NNHCSNHPh)Me. APT = H2L) acetylacetone bis(4-phenylthiosemicarbazone). The complexes of CoII, NiII, CuII, ZnII and UVIO2 have been prepared and characterized by analytical, i.r., electronic spectral and magnetic measurements. The CoII, NiII and CuII complexes have been assigned square-planar stereochemistry on the basis of magnetic and spectroscopic studies. The ligand is a neutral or dibasic quadridentate SNNS donor as revealed by i.r. spectral studies.  相似文献

Summary FeIII, CoII, NiII and CuII, complexes of a new Schiff base ligand, prepared by condensing 2-aminocyclopent-1-ene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid with benzaldehyde (ACB), and also CuII and NiII complexes of a second Schiff base ligand prepared by condensing 2-aminocyclopent-1-ene-1-dithiocarboxylic acid with salicylaldehyde (ACS), have been prepared and characterized by elemental analyses, conductivity measurements, magnetic and spectral (electronic, i.r. and e.p.r.) studies. The i.r. spectra suggest that both ACB and ACS are acting as bidentate ligands, coordinating through one of the sulphur atoms and through the azomethine nitrogen atom. The magnetic moment of the FeIII complex indicates spin crossover behaviour. Square planar structures have been assigned to the CuII and NiII complexes and a tetrahedral structure to the CoII complex. The e.p.r. spectra of the CuII complexes suggest a square planar environment with rhombic distortion around the CuII ion.  相似文献

Two trinuclear CoII and ZnII complexes, [(CoL)2(OAc)2Co] and [(ZnL)2(OAc)2Zn], with an asymmetric Salen‐type bisoxime ligand [H2L = 4‐(N,N‐diethylamine)‐2,2′‐[ethylenediyldioxybis(nitrilomethylidyne)]diphenol] were synthesized and characterized by elemental analyses, IR, UV/Vis, and fluorescent spectroscopy. The crystal structures of the CoII and ZnII complexes were determined by single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction methods. The CoII atom is pentacoodinated by N2O2 donor atoms from the (L)2– unit and one oxygen atom from the coordinated acetate ion, resulting in a trigonal bipyramid arrangement. With the help of intermolecular hydrogen bonding C–H ··· O and C–H ··· π interactions, a self‐assembled continual zigzag chain‐like supramolecular structure is formed. The ZnII atom is pentacoodinated by N2O2 donor atoms from the (L)2– unit and one oxygen atom from the coordinated acetate ion, resulting in an almost regular trigonal bipyramid arrangement. A self‐assembled continual 1D supramolecular chain‐like structure is formed by intermolecular hydrogen bonding C–H ··· O and C–H ··· π interactions. Additionally, the photophysical properties of the CoII and ZnII complexes were discussed.  相似文献

Summary Nine different CuII(sulf)2 and three mixed CuII(sulf)2X2–3 (X=NH3 or pyridine) derivatives were prepared from CuII and sulfanilamides (sulfH=sulfadiazine, sulfadimethoxine, sulfadimidine, sulfamerazine, sulfamethoxydiazine, sulfamethoxypyridazine, sulfapyridine, sulfathiazole and sulfisomidine) in alkaline solution and their e.s.r., i.r. and ligandfield spectroscopic properties were evaluated. Two types of Cu(sulf)2 complexes were formed: dimeric and monomeric/ polymeric species.  相似文献

The first examples of rodlike donor–photosensitizer–acceptor arrays based on bis‐2,6‐di(quinolin‐8‐yl)pyridine RuII complexes 1 a and 3 a for photoinduced electron transfer have been synthesized and investigated. The complexes are synthesized in a convergent manner and are isolated as linear, single isomers. Time‐resolved absorption spectroscopy reveals long‐lived, photoinduced charge‐separated states (τCSS ( 1 a )=140 ns, τCSS ( 3 a )=200 ns) formed by stepwise electron transfer. The overall yields of charge separation (≥50 % for complex 1 a and ≥95 % for complex 3 a ) are unprecedented for bis‐tridentate RuII polypyridyl complexes. This is attributed to the long‐lived excited state of the [Ru(dqp)2]2+ complex combined with fast electron transfer from the donor moiety following the initial charge separation. The rodlike arrangement of donor and acceptor gives controlled, vectorial electron transfer, free from the complications of stereoisomeric diversity. Thus, such arrays provide an excellent system for the study of photoinduced electron transfer and, ultimately, the harvesting of solar energy.  相似文献

The reaction of 3,7‐diacetyl‐1,3,7‐triaza‐5‐phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane (DAPTA) with metal salts of CuII or NaI/NiII under mild conditions led to the oxidized phosphane derivative 3,7‐diacetyl‐1,3,7‐triaza‐5‐phosphabicyclo[3.3.1]nonane‐5‐oxide (DAPTA=O) and to the first examples of metal complexes based on the DAPTA=O ligand, that is, [CuII(μ‐CH3COO)2O‐DAPTA=O)]2 ( 1 ) and [Na(1κOO′;2κO‐DAPTA=O)(MeOH)]2(BPh4)2 ( 2 ). The catalytic activity of 1 was tested in the Henry reaction and for the aerobic 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidin‐1‐oxyl (TEMPO)‐mediated oxidation of benzyl alcohol. Compound 1 was also evaluated as a model system for the catechol oxidase enzyme by using 3,5‐di‐tert‐butylcatechol as the substrate. The kinetic data fitted the Michaelis–Menten equation and enabled the obtainment of a rate constant for the catalytic reaction; this rate constant is among the highest obtained for this substrate with the use of dinuclear CuII complexes. DFT calculations discarded a bridging mode binding type of the substrate and suggested a mixed‐valence CuII/CuI complex intermediate, in which the spin electron density is mostly concentrated at one of the Cu atoms and at the organic ligand.  相似文献

The reactions of pyrimidine‐phosphine ligand N‐[(diphenylphosphino)methyl]‐2‐pyrimidinamine ( L ) with various metal salts of PtII, PdII and CuI provide three new halide metal complexes, Pt2Cl4(μ‐L)2·2CH2Cl2 ( 1 ), Pd2Cl4(μ‐L)2 ( 2 ), and [Cu2(μ‐I)2L2]n ( 3 ). Single crystal X‐ray diffraction studies show that complexes 1 and 2 display a similar bimetallic twelve‐membered ring structure, while complex 3 consists of one‐dimensional polymeric chains, which are further connected into a 2‐D supramolecular framework through hydrogen bonds. In the binuclear complexes 1 and 2 , the ligand L serves as a bridge with the N and P as coordination atoms, but in the polymeric complex 3 , both bridging and chelating modes are adopted by the ligand. The spectroscopic properties of complexes 1 ‐ 3 as well as L have been investigated, in which complex 3 exhibits intense photoluminescence originating from intraligand charge transfer (ILCT) π→π* and metal‐to‐ligand charge‐transfer (MLCT) excited states both in acetonitrile solution and solid state, respectively.  相似文献

A cyclam‐based fluorescent sensor featuring a novel triazole pendant arm has been synthesised using click chemistry. The sensor is highly responsive to both CuII and HgII in neutral aqueous solution and displays excellent selectivity in the presence of various competing metal ions in 50‐fold excess. The addition of specific anions such as I? and S2O32? causes a complete revival of fluorescence only in the case of HgII, providing a simple and effective method for distinguishing solutions containing CuII, HgII or a mixture of both ions, even in doped seawater samples. X‐ray crystal structures of both the HgII sensor complex and a model CuII complex show that pendant triazole coordination occurs through the central nitrogen atom (N2), providing to the best of our knowledge the first reported examples of this unusual coordination mode in macrocycles. Fluorescence, mass spectrometry and 1H NMR experiments reveal that the mechanism of anion‐induced fluorescence revival involves either displacement of pendant coordination or complete removal of the HgII from the macrocycle, depending on the anion.  相似文献

Multichromophore arrays of bis(2‐thienyl)diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and naphthalenediimide (NDI) with two ZnII‐cyclens were constructed using thymidine DNA as a scaffold through the binding of the ZnII‐cyclens with thymine bases. We demonstrate photocurrent generation in a donor–acceptor heterojunction configuration consisting of the DPP (donor) and NDI (acceptor) arrays co‐immobilized on an Au electrode. The co‐immobilized electrode exhibited good photocurrent responses because of the efficient charge separation between the DPP and NDI arrays. In contrast, an immobilized electrode consisting of randomly assembled DPP‐NDI arrays generated no photocurrent response because DPP formed ground‐state charge‐transfer complexes with NDI in the randomly assembled arrays. Therefore, our approach to generate donor–acceptor heterojunctions based on DNA–multichromophore arrays is a useful method to efficiently generate photocurrent.  相似文献

Summary 2-Amino-5(o-hydroxyphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole (AHPT) complexes of the type M(AHPT-H), (M = Cull, NilI, ColI, Znll and Fell) have been prepared and characterized by analytical, magnetic, spectral (electronic and i.r.), powder x-ray diffraction and t.g. techniques. Magnetic and electronic data indicate that the FeII, CoII, CuII complexes are octahedral and that the NilI complex is a mixture of square planar and octahedral geometries.  相似文献

The Schiff base prepared by reacting (–)-(1R,2R)-1,2-cyclohexanediamine with 2-hydroxyacetophenone was used as a ligand for CoII and CuII. The coordination compounds were studied by u.v.–vis. absorption and by circular dichroism (c.d.) spectroscopy in solution. The complexes are four-coordinated in a slightly distorted square planar symmetry. The distortion from planarity is a main factor influencing the chiral surroundings of the metal ion. The d–d and c.t. transitions are consistent with the observed distortion, which arises from intramolecular interactions between the methyl groups attached to the Schiff base imine carbon and hydrogen atoms of the cyclohexane ring. The electrochemical properties of the CoII and CuII complexes were observed in MeCN but investigations revealed weaker oxygen activation than of CoII analogue with salicylaldehyde. The CuII complex is reduced in H2O to CuI which disproportionates to CuII and Cu0.  相似文献
