We prepare bismuth-doped borosilicate glasses and the luminescence properties in infrared wavelength region are investigated. Transmission spectrum, fluorescence spectrum and fluorescence decay curve are measured. The glasses exhibit a broad infrared luminescence peaking at 1340nm with the full width at half maximum of about 205 nm, and lifetime of 273us when excited by an 808-nm laser diode. The glasses are promising materials for broadband optical amplifiers and tunable lasers.  相似文献

Nonlinear materials have been well established as photo refractive switching material. Important applica- tions of isotropic nonlinear materials are seen in self-focusing, defocusing phenomena, switching systems, etc. The nonlinear correction term is basically responsible for the optical switches. Mach-Zehnder inter- ferometer (MZI) is a well-known arrangement for determining the above correction term, but there are some major problems for finding out the term by MZI. We propose a new method of finding the nonlinear correction term as well as the second order nonlinear susceptibility of the materials by using a modified MZI system. This method may be used to find out the above parameters for any unknown nonlinear material.  相似文献

An improved method of fitting point-by-point is proposed to determine the absorption coefficient from infrared(IR)transmittance. With no necessity of empirical correction factors, the absorption coefficient can be accurately determined for the films with thin thicknesses. Based on this method, the structural properties of the hydrogenated amorphous silicon oxide materials(a-SiOx:H) are investigated. The oxygen-concentration-dependent variation of the Si–O–Si and the Si–H related modes in a-SiOx:H materials is discussed in detail.  相似文献

The limitations in electronics in arithmetic, algebraic & logic processing are well known. Very high speed performance (above GHz) are not expected at all in conventional electronic mechanism. To achieve high speed performance we may think on the introduction of optics instead of electronics for information, processing and computing. Non-linear optical material is a successful candidate in this regard to play a major role in the optically controlled switching systems and therefore in all-optical parallel computation these materials can show a very good potential aspect. Novel lead-bismuthate glasses with low OH concentration have been obtained in the Bi2O3-PbO-SrO system. The role of the different components in the glass formation has been explored from the density, refractive index measurements, indicating that the physical properties are mainly agected by Bi2O3 and PbO contents. The densities and refractive indices of these glasses are in the ranges of 7.639-7.699 g/cm^3 and 2.47-2.94, respectively. A wide transmitting window from visible to infrared (IR) regions and good thermal stability for some compositions of these g/asses have been observed, which make them appealing candidates for different optical applications suc has upconverting phosphors, new laser materials, optical waveguides and crystal-free fibre drawing.  相似文献

We perform a numerical study for temporally compressing radially-polarized(RP) infrared pulses in a gas-filled hollow-core fiber(HCF). The dynamic transmission and nonlinear compression of RP pulses centered at wavelengths of0.8 m, 1.8 m, 3.1 m, and 5.0 m in HCFs are simulated. By comparing the propagation of pulses with the same optical cycles and intensity, we find that under proper conditions these pulses can be compressed down to 2–3 cycles. In the transverse direction, the spatiotemporal beam profile ameliorates from 0.8-m to 1.8-m and 3.1-m pulses before the appearance of high-order dispersion. These results show an alternative method of scaling generation for delivering RP infrared pulses in gas-filled HCFs, which can obtain energetic few-cycle pulses, and will be beneficial for relevant researches in the infrared scope.  相似文献

Theoretical analysis for an online measurement of the stack gas flow velocity based on the optical scintillation method with a structure of two parallel optical paths is performed. The causes of optical scintillation in a stack are first introduced. Then, the principle of flow velocity measurement and its mathematical expression based on cross correlation of the optical scintillation are presented. The field test results show that the flow velocity measured by the proposed technique in this article is consistent with the value tested by the Pitot tube. It verifies the effectiveness of this method. Finally, by use of the structure function of logarithmic light intensity fluctuations, the theoretical explanation of optical scintillation spec- tral characteristic in low frequency is given. The analysis of the optical scintillation spectrum provides the basis for the measurement of the stack gas flow velocity and particle concentration simultaneously.  相似文献

Inelastic mean free paths (MFPs) of 0.05-10 MeV protons in a group of 10 organic compounds are systematically calculated. The calculations are based on the method newly derived from the Ashley optical-data model and from the higher-order correction terms in stopping power calculations. Especially, in this method the new and empirical Bloch correction for the inelastic MFP is given. An evaluation for the optical energy loss function is incorporated into the present calculations because of the lack of available experimental optical data for the considered organic compounds expect for kapton. The proton inelastic MFPs for these 10 organic compounds in the energy range from 0.05 to 10 MeV are presented here for the first time, and the combination of these inelastic MFP data and our previous data of stopping power calculation for these bioorganic compounds may form a useful database for Monte Carlo track-structure studies of various radiation effects on these materials.  相似文献

Nonlinear optical frequency mixing,which describes new frequencies generation by exciting nonlinear materials with intense light field,has drawn vast interests in the field of photonic devices,material characterization,and optical imaging.Investigating and manipulating the nonlinear optical response of target materials lead us to reveal hidden physics and develop applications in optical devices.Here,we report the realization of facile manipulation of nonlinear optical responses in the example system of MoS2 monolayer by van der Waals interfacial engineering.We found that,the interfacing of monolayer graphene will weaken the exciton oscillator strength in MoS2 monolayer and correspondingly suppress the second harmonic generation(SHG)intensity to 30%under band-gap resonance excitation.While with off-resonance excitation,the SHG intensity would enhance up to 130%,which is conjectured to be induced by the interlayer excitation between MoS2 and graphene.Our investigation provides an effective method for controlling nonlinear optical properties of two-dimensional materials and therefore facilitates their future applications in optoelectronic and photonic devices.  相似文献

The free surface and unrotational-symmetric surface optical elements have been applied more and more widely along with the development of optical design technology, although they are still difficult for manufacturing. In this letter, a SiC unrotational-symmetric aspheric surface whose surface equation is z =- 3λ(x^a + y^3) (λ= 0.6328μm) has been introduced. The tilt abstraction is adopted to minimize the material removal. The surface figures are peak-to-valley (PV) value of 0.327A and root-mean-square (RMS) value of 0.023A. A non-null testing method based on digital mask is proposed to test this surface. The accuracy of the method is testified by the experiment of standard sphere testing.  相似文献

Electronic stopping powers for 0. 05-10 MeV protons in a group of organic materials are systematically calculated. The calculations are based on Ashley's dielectric model, and an evaluation approach of optical energy loss function is incorporated into Ashley's model because no experimental optical data are available for most of the organic materials under consideration. The Barkas-effect correction and Bloch correction are included. The proton stopping powers for the considered organic materials except for mylar in the energy range from 0.05 to 10 MeV are presented for the first time. The results may be useful for studies of various radiation effects in these materials and for space research.  相似文献

Three soluble polystyrene grafted multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWNT) samples are synthesized, and their optical performance and nonlinear scattering properties are investigated by z-scan method using nanosecond pulses of 532 nm from a frequency-doubled Q-switched Nd: YLF laser. Analysis of the experimental results shows that other than nonlinear scattering, nonlinear absorption plays a major role in optical limiting performance of these stable and well-dispersed suspensions. These new synthesized materials which can be better dispersed in common organic solvents than MWNT itself can be considered as potential sources for further optical applications.  相似文献

SiO2 films were deposited on single-crystalline silicon substrates by ion beam sputtering technology. Optical constants of SiO2 films are calculated from spectroscopic ellipsometry data, transmittance spectra and reflectance spectra by WVASE32 software, and the best fitted method is oStained for calculating optical constants of dielectric materials in the ultraviolet-visible-infrared (UV-VIS-IR) range. In the UV-VIS-NIR spectral range, refractive indices of SiO2 films are calculated separately by both ellipsometry data and reflectance spectra, and the obtained results are almost the same. Complex dielectric functions of SiO2films in the IR spectral range are accurately calculated with infrared transmission spectra using the GenOsc model. The obtained accuracy complex refractive index of SiO2 films in the wavelength region from 0.19μm to 25 #m is of great importance for the design of high quality coatings, such as ultra-low loss coating.  相似文献

Based on the evaluation principle of the measuring uncertainty of the traditional coordinate measuring machine (CMM), the analysis and evaluation of the measuring uncertainty for optical micro-CMM have been made. Optical micro-CMM is an integrated measuring system with optical, mechanical, and electronic components, which may influence the measuring uncertainty of the optical micro-CMM. If the influence of laser speckle is taken into account, its longitudinal measuring uncertainty is 2.0 μm, otherwise it is 0.88 μm. It is proved that the estimation of the synthetic uncertainty for optical micro-CMM is correct and reliable by measuring the standard reference materials and simulating the influence of the diameter of laser beam. With Heisenberg's uncertainty principle and quantum mechanics theory, a method for improving the measuring accuracy of optical micro-CMM through adding a diaphragm in the receiving terminal of the light path was proposed, and the measuring results are verified by experiments.  相似文献

Narrow-bandgap materials possess the intriguing optical-electric properties and unique structures,which can be widely applied in the field of photonics,energy optoelectronic sensing and biomedicine,etc.Nowadays,the researches on nonlinear optical properties of narrow-bandgap materials have attracted extensive attention worldwide.In this paper,we review the progress of narrow-bandgap materials from many aspects,such as background,nonlinear optical properties,energy band structure,methods of preparation,and applications.These materials have obvious nonlinear optical characteristics and the interaction with the short pulse laser excitation shows the extremely strong nonlinear absorption characteristics,which leads to the optical limiting or saturable absorption related to Pauli blocking and excited state absorption.Especially,some of these novel narrow-bandgap materials have been utilized for the generation of ultrashort pulse that covers the range from the visible to mid-infrared wavelength regions.Hence,the study on these materials paves a new way for the advancement of optoelctronics devices.  相似文献

Recently, an indirect method has been proposed to study the optical model potential of exotic nuclear systems by fitting the transfer reaction angular distribution. The sensitivity test of this transfer method is performed with 2~8 pb(T Li,6 He)2~9 Bi as an example, by varying the potential parameters individually. The results indicate that, except for the ambiguity in the real potential depth V, other optical potential parameters of 6He+209Bi as well as the structural information of the reactions can be extracted reliably, Moreover, the radius parameter of the bound state, rbound, is an extraordinarily sensitive parameter, which should be taken care of in the calculation procedure. The present work provides a theoretical reference for the application of the transfer method.  相似文献

The optical properties of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) thin films were studied in this paper. The films were characterized by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, UV--visible transmittance and reflection spectra. h-BN thin films with a wide optical band gap Eg (5.86 eV for the as-deposited film and 5.97 eV for the annealed film) approaching h-BN single crystal were successfully prepared by radio frequency (RF) bias magnetron sputtering and post-deposition annealing at 970~K. The optical absorption behaviour of h-BN films accords with the typical optical absorption characteristics of amorphous materials when fitting is made by the Urbach tail model. The annealed film shows satisfactory structure stability. However, high temperature still has a significant effect on the optical absorption properties, refractive index n, and optical conductivity σ of h-BN thin films. The blue-shift of the optical absorption edge and the increase of Eg probably result from stress relaxation in the film under high temperatures. In addition, it is found that the refractive index clearly exhibits different trends in the visible and ultraviolet regions. Previous calculational results of optical conductivity of h-BN films are confirmed in our experimental results.  相似文献

Half-Heusler compounds are an impressive class of materials with a huge potential for different applications such as in future energy, especially in the fields of thermoelectrics and solar cells. We present ab fnitio total energy calculations within the modified Becke-Johnson generalized gradient approximation (mBJ-GGA) to obtain the physical properties of SrAlGa compounds. The structural, elastic, acoustic, electronic, chemical bonding, optical, and thermoelectric properties are calculated and compared with the available calculation data. The SrAlGa is found to be a small-band-gap (0.125-0.175 eV) material, suitable for thermoelectric applications with a relatively high Seebeck coefficient. Also, SrAIGa has the potential in the optoelectronic applications due to high optical conductivity and reflectivity in the infrared and visible region of electromagnetic spectra.  相似文献
