We report on the results of measurements of anisotropic resistivity of RBa2Cu3O6 + x (R = Tm, Lu) high-temperature superconducting single crystals in a wide range of doping levels, indicating a nontrivial effect of magnetic order on the electronic properties of cuprates. In particular, our results visually demonstrate the crossover from the state with moderate anisotropy of resistivity ρ c ab ~ 30 to a strongly anisotropic state with ρ c ab ~ 7 × 103 upon cooling as well as upon a decrease in the hole concentration in the CuO2 planes. It is also shown that anisotropy is sensitive to the magnetic state of CuO2 planes and attains its maximum value after the establishment of the long-range antiferromagnetic order. The results are discussed in the framework of the theory based on the t-t′-t″-J model of CuO2 layers taking into account strong electron correlations and short-range magnetic order. In this theory, anomalies of spin correlators and Fermi surface topology for a critical hole concentration of p* ≈ 0.24 are demonstrated. The concentration dependence of the charge carrier energy indicates partial suppression of energy due to the emergence of a pseudogap at p < p*. This theory explains both the experimentally observed sensitivity of anisotropy in conductivity to the establishment of the antiferromagnetic order and the absence of anomalies in the temperature dependence of resistivity ρ ab (T) in the vicinity of the Néel temperature.  相似文献

A theory describing the magnetic properties of a two-band superconductor with a varying charge carrier density is constructed. The upper critical field H c2(ab) parallel to the ab plane and field H c2(c) parallel to the c axis are determined in the entire temperature range 0 < T < T c . A considerable increase in upper critical field H c2(ab) as compared to H c2(c) because of strong anisotropy of the system is detected. Anisotropy of coefficient γ H = H c2(ab) / H c2(c) is obtained as a function of temperature for pure MgB2 and as a function of the chemical potential in the case when Mg and B atoms are replaced with other chemical elements. A correlation between the variation in the superconducting transition temperature upon an increase in the chemical potential and critical magnetic fields H c2(ab) and H c2(c) is observed. The effect of doping on magnetic anisotropy is also determined.  相似文献

The angular dependence of the upper critical magnetic field was investigated in a wide range of temperatures in very high-quality Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ single crystals with critical temperature T c (midpoint) ? 9 K in magnetic fields up to 28 T. Although the typical value of the normal state resistivity ratio ρcab≈104, the anisotropy ratio H c2∥ab/H c2⊥ab of the upper critical fields is much smaller and shows an unexpected temperature dependence. A model based on strong anisotropy and small transparency between superconducting layers is proposed.  相似文献

It is shown that the layered antiferromagnetic order in stoechiometric cannot be understood purely from electronic interactions. On the contrary, it mainly results from strong cooperative Jahn-Teller deformation. Those involve a compression of the Mn-O octahedron along the c-axis (mode Q 3 < 0), while alternate Jahn-Teller deformations occur in the ab-plane (mode Q2). These deformations stabilize a certain type of orbital ordering. The resulting superexchange couplings are calculated by exact diagonalization, taking into account both eg and t2g orbitals. The main result is that antiferromagnetic (ferromagnetic) coupling along the c-direction (ab-planes) can be understood only if the Jahn-Teller energy is much larger than the superexchange couplings, which is consistent with experiments. This mechanism contrasts with that based on weak Jahn-Teller coupling which instead predicts elongation along the c-axis (Q 3 > 0). The crucial role of the deformation anisotropy is also emphasized. A model of layered superconducting structure consisting of alternating anisotropic superconducting layers S1 and S2 with different transition temperatures is considered. It is shown that due to competition between two origins of anisotropy - effective-mass anisotropy of individual layers and proximity-induced anisotropy the effective anisotropy of the whole system signficiantly varies temperature. The components of the effective-mass tensor mc (along the anisotropy axis) and ma (perpendicular to the anisotropy axis) strongly depend upon temperature. This may lead to transition between layered (mc > ma) and quasi one-dimensional (mc < ma) types of anisotropy as well as to biaxial-type anisotropy which is also temperature dependent. The field distribution in a tilted vortex in a biaxial superconductor is calculated. The change in the properties of the vortex lattice with temperature in such systems is also investigated. The properties of YBa2Cu3Ox/PrBa2Cu3Oy multilayers are discussed in this connection.  相似文献

We present a theory of the thermoelectric power tensor of anisotropic ferromagnetic metals with localized magnetic moments starting from the Boltzmann equation and incorporating anisotropy effects due to the lattice structure through a parameter measuring the anisotropy in the sound velocity. Elastic and inelastic phonon and spin scattering contributions are taken into account through a linear superposition of scattering cross sections. A mean field approximation is used to describe the ordered magnetic phase. Spin wave and impurity scattering, phonon and magnon drag are not included. In a range encompassing the Curie temperature, i.e. at “moderate temperatures”, the theory quantitatively reproduces observed features except for specific details (e.g. rounding near Tc) needing other physical input. We compare our theory to data on single crystals of Gd and Tb75Gd25. The c-axis thermoelectric power is well recovered for very reasonable values of anisotropy and scattering strength parameters. A conjecture is given to explain the basal plane thermoelectric power positive slope at high temperature.  相似文献

The temperature dependences of resistivities ρab in the ab plane and ρc along the c axis have been studied for single-crystal Nd2 ? x CexCuO4 + δ (x = 0.12, 0.15, 0.17, 0.20) films with (001) and (1 $\bar 1$ 0) orientations. The superconducting transition temperature and anisotropy coefficient are shown to be maximal in optimally annealed samples (the oxygen content is close to the stoichiometric content, δ → 0). A combination of the metallic behavior of the ρab(T) dependence and the nonmetallic behavior of the ρc(T) dependence for the optimally annealed samples is an intrinsic property of the substance and an indication of the fact that the system is quasi-two-dimensional. This layered quasi-two-dimensional system is an Anderson dielectric with a strongly anisotropic localization radius (R loc ab ? R loc c ). An increase in the oxygen content and, hence, in the degree of disorder in the Nd2 ? x CexCuO4 + δ system is found to decrease the resistivity anisotropy coefficient. Thus, a disorder-induced Anderson transition takes place in this quasi-two-dimensional system.  相似文献

The electrical resistivity of Hg2.86AsF6 has been studied as a function of temperature. At room temperature, the resistivity along the chain direction is 10?4 Ω-cm with an anisotropy of about 102. This incommensurate linear chain system remains metallic at low temperatures with resistance ratio ?ab(300 K)/ ?ab(1.4 K) ? 3000 and still increasing with no apparent sign of residual resistivity. A large anisotropic magnetic field dependence of the resistivity is observed below 30 K. Near 4 K, the c-axis resistance drops abruptly more than three orders of magnitude, apparently to zero, while ?ab is continuous. The c-axis transition is suppressed in a small magnetic field.  相似文献

The temperature dependence of magnetic domain walls in ferromagnetic systems with strong exchange coupling and weak lattice anisotropy is studied assuming that the thermal influence results mainly from the temperature dependence of the magnetization. We obtain that in lattices with an uniaxial symmetry like Co the wall width increases with temperature, but stays finite up to the Curie temperature Tc. In contrary, for a cubic lattice like Fe the wall width diverges for TTc, if only the lattice anisotropy is taken into account. The shape of the domain walls is not conserved, since at Tc the wall is determined only by the lowest order of anisotropy. In addition, the temperature dependence of a domain wall width for a thin magnetic film is determined. Using a special symmetry, we obtain a diverging wall width at a temperature markedly lower than Tc. However, the consideration of additional domain wall modes should modify this result.  相似文献

Based on the Heisenberg model taking into account single-ion anisotropy and using a Green's function technique we have studied the influence of size and anisotropy effects on magnetization M, Neel temperature TN, coercive field Hc and spin excitation energy of antiferromagnetic nanoparticles. The properties are compared with those of ferromagnetic nanoparticles. We have shown that the enhanced magnetization M and coercive field Hc of antiferromagnetic nanoparticles is a surface effect, which is due to uncompensated surface spins. Moreover, the shape of the coercive field curve can be significantly influenced by surface magnetic anisotropy.  相似文献

Early work on the iron-arsenide compounds supported the view, that a reduced dimensionality might be a necessary prerequisite for high-T c superconductivity. Later, however, it was found that the zero-temperature upper critical magnetic field, H c2(0), for the 122 iron pnictides is in fact rather isotropic. Here, we report measurements of the temperature dependence of the electrical resistivity, ρ(T), in Ba0.5K0.5Fe2As2 and Ba0.68K0.32Fe2As2 single crystals in zero magnetic field and in Ba0.68K0.32Fe2As2 in static and pulsed magnetic fields up to 60 T. We find that the resistivity of both compounds in zero field is well described by an exponential term due to inter-sheet umklapp electron-phonon scattering between light electrons around the M point to heavy hole sheets at the Γ point in reciprocal space. From our data, we construct an H-T phase diagram for the inter-plane (H | c) and in-plane (H | ab) directions for Ba0.68K0.32Fe2As2. Contrary to published data for 122 underdoped FeAs compounds, we find that H c2(T) is in fact anisotropic in optimally doped samples down to low temperatures. The anisotropy parameter, γ = H c2 ab /H c2 c , is about 2.2 at T c . For both field orientations we find a concave curvature of the H c2 lines with decreasing anisotropy and saturation towards lower temperature. Taking into account Pauli spin paramagnetism, we perfectly can describe H c2 and its anisotropy.  相似文献

We investigated the effect of low temperature annealing on magnetic anisotropy in 7-nm ultrathin Ga0.94Mn0.06As devices by measuring the angle-dependent planar Hall resistance(PHR).Obvious hysteresis loops were observed during the magnetization reversal through the clockwise and counterclockwise rotations under low magnetic fields(below 1000 Gs,1 Gs = 10-4 T),which can be explained by competition between Zeeman energy and magnetic anisotropic energy.It is found that the uniaxial anisotropy is dominant in the whole measured ferromagnetic range for both the as-grown ultrathin Ga0.94Mn0.06As and the annealed one.The cubic anisotropy changes more than the uniaxial anisotropy in the measured temperature ranges after annealing.This gives a useful way to tune the magnetic anisotropy of ultrathin(Ga,Mn)As devices.  相似文献

We have investigated the ferromagnetic resonance spectra of an exchange-biased Ni80Fe20/CoO bilayer between room temperature and 4 K. Primary attention has been paid to the effect of the antiferromagnetic CoO film on the temperature-dependent resonance field shift of the ferromagnetic Ni80Fe20 film with respect to that of an unbiased film. At low temperatures, the field shift with the magnetic field applied perpendicular to the plane was determined to be more than twice the magnitude of the parallel field shift, and of the same sign, while an unoxidized single ferromagnetic film has much smaller parallel and perpendicular low-temperature shifts (here defined with respect to room temperature) of opposite sign. This observation implies that the anisotropy axis can rotate with the applied field, provided that the primary cause of the anisotropy is the interaction between the adjacent ferromagnetic and antiferromagnetic films. Since the perpendicular shift is more than a factor of two larger than the parallel field shift, the rotatable anisotropy is, in fact, anisotropic in this bilayer.  相似文献

A phenomenological theory of the magnetic-field penetration-depth (λ ) anisotropy in high-temperature superconductors is constructed taking account of the magnetic susceptibility (χ ik ) anisotropy of the surface layer. The factor of 1.9 change in the anisotropy λ c /λ ab with 4% substitution of Co for Cu ions in YBa2Cu3O7 is virtually completely due to the increase in the magnetic susceptibility anisotropy. For Cu-Zn substitutions the change in λ c /λ ab is characterized primarily by a change in the anisotropy of the tensor of the reciprocal effective masses of the charge carriers (pairs). Fiz. Tverd. Muon spin relaxation (μSR) data taken at LAMPF on ac-axis oriented fine powder sample of YBa2Cu3O7−δ (YBCO) embedded in epoxy are analyzed for relaxation rate anisotropy. Clear differences beyond simple magnetic field penetration depth anisotropy are observed forBc andB c. The low-temperature anisotropy ratio is consistent with oriented ceramic data. Small crystallite size and anisotropic flux pinning characteristics are suggested as the fundamental cause of the additional effects.  相似文献

将铁磁共振频率看成外磁场的函数, 讨论了垂直场下磁性膜中的铁磁共振现象. 结果显示: 当外磁场平行于膜面, 并考虑磁膜具有垂直磁晶各向异性情形时, 其磁共振频率随外磁场的变化分为高频支和低频支两种情况, 具体的依赖关系取决于磁膜内磁晶的各向异性; 当外磁场垂直于膜面, 其磁共振频率随外磁场的关系仅存在一支, 一般地, 磁共振频率随外磁场的增加单调地非线性减小, 但当立方磁晶各向异性场Hk1 与单轴磁晶各向异性场Ha之比值介于2/3 < Hk1/Ha <1时, 其磁共振频率随外磁场的增加单调增加, 这与相关的实验结果一致. 研究结果表明: 磁薄膜中有无垂直于膜面的磁各向异性可以通过其磁共振谱的测量进行辨析.  相似文献

In an investigation of the resistivity anisotropy of YBa2Cu3O7−x single crystals with suboptimal oxygen content it is observed that the superconducting transition for the component ρc of the resistivity tensor is shifted to lower temperatures with respect to the transition for the component ρab. The temperature dependence of the local energy barrier to formation of the mixed state in YBaCuO thin-film superconducting samples has been determined. The measurement technique is based on use of a small ferromagnetic particle as the magnetic field source. It is found that the energy barrier to creation of vortices (for the field oriented parallel to the CuO planes) is anomalously small while the dependence of the corresponding threshold current j c(T) differs substantially from the temperature dependence of the pair-breaking current. The experimental results are interpreted in terms of the model of a Josephson medium. The observed temperature dependence of j c points to a strong suppression of the superconducting order parameter at the intergrain boundaries, which for the most probable type of boundaries: superconductor-insulator-superconductor, is evidence of anisotropic pairing.
