We consider a reaction-diffusion equation which models the constant yield harvesting to a spatially heterogeneous population which satisfies a logistic growth. We prove the existence, uniqueness and stability of the maximal steady state solutions under certain conditions, and we also classify all steady state solutions under more restricted conditions. Exact global bifurcation diagrams are obtained in the latter case. Our method is a combination of comparison arguments and bifurcation theory.

We give an example of supersonic solutions to a one-dimensional steady state Euler–Poisson system arising in the modeling of plasmas and semiconductors. The existence of the supersonic solutions which correspond to large current density is proved by Schauder’s fixed point theorem. Summary We present a three-dimensional steady state irrotational flow model for semiconductors which is based on the hydrodynamic equations. We prove existence and local uniqueness of smooth solutions under a smallness assumptions on the data. This assumption implies subsonic flow of electrons in the semiconductors device.  相似文献

In this paper, we deal with a diffusive predator-prey model with mixed boundary conditions, in which the prey population can escape from the boundary of the domain while predator population can only live in this area and can not leave. We first investigate the asymptotic behaviour of positive solutions and obtain a necessary condition ensuring the existence of positive steady state solutions. Next, we investigate the existence of positive steady state solutions by using maximum principle, the fixed point index theory, Lpestimation, and embedding theorems, Finally, local stability and uniqueness are obtained by linear stability theory and perturbation theory of linear operators.  相似文献

In this paper we propose a method for solving in closed form a general class of nonlinear modified Hamiltonian dynamic systems (MHDS). This method is used to analyze the intertemporal optimization problem from endogenous growth theory, especially the cases with two controls and one state variable. We use the exact solutions to study both uniqueness and indeterminacy of the optimal path when the dynamic system has not a well-defined isolated steady state. With this approach we avoid the linearization process, as well as the reduction of dimension technique usually applied when the dynamic system offers a continuum of steady states or no steady state at all.  相似文献

We investigate monotone semilinear equations in the setting of generalized functions. We derive existence and uniqueness results even in situations where no solution exists in the sense of distributions; next we show it is consistent with continuous solutions whenever they exist. Furthermore we prove that those transient generalized solutions stabilize toward steady state solutions the way weak solutions do. Lastly we point out an example how these techniques can be applied to different type of nonlinearities.  相似文献

We consider the Cauchy problem for a semilinear heat equation with power nonlinearity. It is known that the equation has a singular steady state in some parameter range. Our concern is a solution with a moving singularity that is obtained by perturbing the singular steady state. By formal expansion, it turns out that the remainder term must satisfy a certain parabolic equation with inverse-square potential. From the well-posedness of this equation, we see that there appears a critical exponent. Paying attention to this exponent, for a prescribed motion of the singular point and suitable initial data, we establish the time-local existence, uniqueness and comparison principle for such singular solutions. We also consider solutions with multiple singularities.  相似文献

We are concerned with the mathematical analysis of the relativistic Euler-Poisson equations in one dimensional case. We show that a model describing the interaction between normal and infectious prion proteins admits global solutions. More precisely, supposing the involved degradation rates to be bounded, we prove global existence and uniqueness of classical solutions. Based on this existence theory, we provide sufficient conditions for the existence of global weak solutions in the case of unbounded splitting rates. Moreover, we prove global stability of the disease-free steady state.  相似文献
