High-level ab initio (CCSD(T), CBS-QB3 and CASSCF, CASPT2, MR-ACPF, MR-ACPF-2) and density functional theory (B3LYP) calculations were carried out to study the dimerization of phosphaacetylene or phosphaethyne (HCP). Seventeen low energy closed-shell and five open-shell phosphaacetylene dimers were found on the potential energy surface. Two head-to-head, one head-to-tail and three other dimerization reaction pathways were determined, all with high activation barriers, suggesting that closed-shell minima are usually kinetically stable. An open-shell head-to-head reaction pathway has also been found with moderate initial barrier (95.0 kJ mol(-1)) leading to 1,2- and 1,3-diphosphacyclobutadiene, suggesting that polymerization of HCP and oligomerization of its derivatives have open-shell mechanism. Formation of 1,2-diphosphacyclobutadiene is both thermodynamically and kinetically favored over 1,3-diphosphacyclobutadiene. A head-to-head reaction involving LiBr as a catalyst was also studied. It has been pointed out that LiBr catalyze the closed-shell mechanism. All the four possible reaction channels of this reaction yield 1,4-diphosphatriafulvene with a fairly low activation Gibbs-free energy (44.8 kJ mol(-1)), suggesting that this compound could be synthesized. [reaction: see text] A series of modified gamma-cyclodextrins (CDs) with a flexible or rigid cap, synthesized and used as chiral supramolecular hosts for mediating the enantiodifferentiating photocyclodimerization of 2-anthracenecarboxylic acid, significantly improved the chemical and optical yields of chiral head-to-head cyclodimer 3, while the gamma-CD with a rigid cap dramatically inverted the stereochemical outcomes and further improved the enantioselectivities of both head-to-tail and head-to-head dimers 2 and 3.  相似文献

trans-3-(4'-Pyridyl)acrylic acid (4-PA) is inert to photodimerization reaction both in solution and solid state. It is made photoreactive by forming salts with various acids. The anions of these salts play a key role in directing the packing of 4-PAH(+) in the solid state. The anions CF(3)CO(2)(-), Cl(-), ClO(4)(-), and BF(4)(-) direct the parallel alignments of 4-PAH(+) in head-to-tail (HT) fashion and lead to the formation of HT-photodimer. On the other hand, bivalent anion SO(4)(2-) directs parallel alignment of 4-PAH(+) in head-to-head (HH) fashion and lead to the formation of HH-photodimer. The details of the anion-controlled stereoselective syntheses of these two cyclobutane derivatives are presented. Interestingly, both cyclobutane compounds undergo isomerization from rctt-form to rctc-form in solution catalyzed by acid.  相似文献

An efficient, room temperature procedure for the cross-coupling of a range of terminal alkynes, using standard Sonogashira cross-coupling conditions (Pd/Cu) is presented. At higher reaction temperatures, head-to-tail or head-to-head dimerisation affords 1,3- and 1,4-disubstituted enynes, respectively as minor products.  相似文献

Head-to-head poly(methyl acrylate) was prepared by esterification of the known alternating copolymer of ethylene and maleic anhydride. Some of the chemical,physical, and mechanical properties and the thermal degradation behavior of head-to-head poly(methyl acrylate) were studied and compared with those of head-to-tail poly(methyl acrylate). The Tg of the head-to-head polymer was higher than that of the head-to-tail polymer, but the solubilities of both types of polymers of comparable molecular weight were similar. Head-to-head poly(methyl acrylate) degraded thermally at approximately the same temperature and with a rate similar to head-to-tail poly(methyl acrylate). Unlike poly(methyl cinnamates) which cleanly degraded to monomers, poly(methyl acrylates), head-to-head and head-to-tail, degrade to very small molecules, such as CO2, methanol, but also larger polymer fragments and char. Trace amounts of monomers (methyl acrylate) were also observed.  相似文献

A simple and efficient method for the one-pot synthesis of pentacyclic diamines from quinolines is described. It involves a new Zn/AcOH-promoted cascade reaction, in which two C[bond]C bonds and four to five stereogenic centers are established under mild conditions. The regiochemistry of the dimerization and cyclization step is governed by substituent effects, allowing access to a head-to-head (2, 3) or head-to-tail skeleton (4, 5).  相似文献

In this study, the impact of ester side group regiochemistry on electronic and conformational properties of regioregular polyfurans was explored. A derivative with alternating head-to-head and tail-to-tail orientation of the side groups was synthesized and compared with its head-to-tail analogue, and these were benchmarked against the related regioregular poly(3-hexylfurans). The study revealed that alkyl ester side groups in a head-to-head orientation will create significant steric strain as compared with linear alkyl chains with identical regiochemistry. Though the head-to-head ester side groups lead to twisting along the polymer backbone, they also produce a protective effect against photodegradation in comparison with a poly(3-hexylfuran). Altogether, the work highlights how side groups can impact conformational properties and stability of polyfurans.  相似文献

The mechanism of dehydrochlorination of 2,3-dichlorobutane and chlorinated polybutadiene which are model compounds of head-to-head poly(vinyl chloride) has been investigated by pyrolysis, thermal, and ultraviolet-induced decomposition. The activation energy of dehydrochlorination for head-to-head poly(vinyl chloride) in nitrogen was 23 kcal/mole at temperatures of 150–190°C, which is slightly smaller than that (29 kcal/mole) for head-to-tail poly(vinyl chloride). The conjugated double bonds were formed by thermal and radiation decomposition of head-to-head poly(vinyl chloride), similar to head-to-tail poly(vinyl chloride). The probability of polyene formation by radiation-induced dehydrochlorination is larger than that by thermal decomposition and is affected by the conformation and the molecular motion of the main chain. This may be due to the alternative mechanism of dehydrochlorination in the thermal and radiation decomposition. The amount of head-to-head linkage of poly(vinyl chloride) samples prepared with various catalysts is dependent on polymerization temperature rather than the kinds of catalyst. Commercial poly(vinyl chloride) has 6–7 head-to-head linkages per 1000 monomeric units.  相似文献

Head-to-head polystyrene was studied by NMR relaxation measurements in solution and these measurements were compared with those for head-to-tail polystyrene. By measuring the relaxation of the ortho and meta carbons of the phenyl rings of the polystyrenes, it was found that the head-to-head polystyrene chain is stiffer (Tm = 65°) than the head-to-tail chain (Tm = 54°). These results are in agreement with the measurements of the radius of gyration, and results from the study of the melt rheology of head-to-head and head-to-tail polystyrene.  相似文献

[reaction: see text] Nanosized particles of modified silica with 3-ammoniumpropyl residue have been prepared and successfully used as microreactors to control the regioselectivity of the photocycloaddition of five 9-substituted anthracences [AnCH(2)N(+)(CH(3))(3)Br(-) (1), AnCH(2)COO(-)Na(+) (2), AnCH(2)CH(2)COOH (3), AnCH(2)OH (4), AnCH(3) (5), where An = 9-anthryl]. While the photocycloaddition of the five substrates in methanol mainly gave rise to their head-to-tail (h-t) photocyclomers, irradiation of 1-4 incorporated in the suspension of the modified silica in methanol almost exclusively yielded the head-to-head (h-h) photocyclomers with high quantum yields.  相似文献

A flexible and short synthesis of sulfonamide-bridged di-, tri-, tetra-, and octasaccharide glycomimetics was accomplished by reaction of glycosyl thioacetates with amino sugar substrates. The chemistry to incorporate the sulfonamide linker in place of a native O-glycosidic bond was broadly scoped, allowing access to head-to-head (1?1) and head-to-tail (1→2), (1→3), (1→4), and (1→6) sulfonamide-bridged glycomimetics. The synthesis proceeds with retention of configuration at the anomeric center and is compatible with variable stereochemical arrangements and with acid- and base-labile protecting groups.  相似文献

The synthesis of a novel class of 3-silyl substituted thiophenes possessing perfluoroalkyl groups on the silicon atom was investigated. The treatment of 3-bromothiophene with n-butyllithium followed by the reaction with halosilanes proceeded to afford the corresponding 3-silyl substituted thiophenes 1 in good yields. The chemical polymerization of the resulting 1 did not work well. However, the electropolymerization of 3-silylthiophenes 1a and 1b provided the corresponding polymers 5a and 5b with head-to-tail regioregularity. The cyclic voltammogram of the resulting polymers 5a and 5b indicated both n- and p-doping properties.  相似文献

The CH3Cl and CH3Br dimers produced by supersonic-jet expansion were directly deposited on a cold plate using a standard matrix-isolation technique. Dependence of the relative intensities of the observed infrared bands on the stagnation pressure was used to assign the dimer bands appearing near the monomer bands. By a comparison of the wavenumber shifts from the monomer bands with the corresponding values obtained by quantum chemical calculations, DFT/B3LYP/6-311++G(3pd,3df) and MP2/LanL2DZ+fdp, the structures of CH3Cl and CH3Br dimers were determined to be a head-to-tail isomer, which is common to the CH3F and CH3I dimers determined previously by the same method. The remaining dimer bands, which could not be assigned to the head-to-tail isomer, were tentatively assigned to a head-to-head isomer in analogy with CH3I dimer.  相似文献

Six polyurethanes containing coumarin dimer components in the main chain have been prepared by polyaddition of diisocyanates with anti head-to-head 7-hydroxycoumarin dimer or anti head-to-tail 7-hydroxy-4-methylcoumarin dimer. 7-Acetoxycoumarin and 7-acetoxy-4-methylcoumarin were first prepared and then photodimerized under 350 nm UV light to give anti head-to-head 7-acetoxycoumarin dimer and anti head-to-tail 7-acetoxy-4-methylcoumarin dimer, respectively. After hydrolyzing under acidic conditions to 7-hydroxycoumarin dimer and anti head-to-head 7-hydroxycoumarin dimer, they were polymerized with aliphatic and aromatic diisocyanates in N,N-dimethylacetamide to give the polyurethanes. Addition of dibutyltin dilaurate (T-12) as catalyst increases the polymer yield with the viscosity remaining almost unchanged. It was also found that lithium chloride enhances both the yield and viscosity of the polyurethanes by increasing their solubility possibly through complexation. The polyurethanes are symmetrically photocleaved at cyclobutane rings under 254 nm UV light to dicoumarins. Reversible photodimerization of the photocleaved compounds have also been investigated under 300 and 350 nm UV light. The polyurethanes from aromatic diisocyanates or with 4-methyl substituent exhibit greater reactivity in the photocleavage reaction. © 1997 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

A sixteen-step synthesis of the twelve-membered macrolide (-)-cladospolide B(2) from the microbially-derived cis-1,2-dihydrocatechol 5 is described. Pivotal steps include the ring-closing metathesis (RCM) of diene 12 to give the ten-membered lactone 13 together with small amounts of the head-to-tail and head-to-head dimers 14 and 15, respectively. The saturated lactol 19 derived from compounds 13 and 14 readily participates in a Wadsworth-Horner-Emmons reaction to give the E-configured alpha,beta-unsaturated ester 20. This last compound is then converted, through application of a Yamaguchi lactonisation reaction on the derived acid 22, into the macrolide 23 which, upon removal of the bis-acetal protecting group, affords compound 24, the E-isomer of target 2. Irradiation of a benzene solution of compound 24 results in its partial photoisomerisation to (-)-cladospolide B(2).  相似文献

The reaction of n , n '-diphosphonylketones 1 with active methylenenitriles and sulfur in basic conditions led to the new 5-amino-2-(phosphonomethyl)-3-(phosphonoethyl)thiophenes 2 . These compounds were then used in the Horner-Wadsworth-Emmons reaction to give 5-amino-2-alkenyl-3-(phosphonoethyl)thiophenes 3 . The structure of all obtained products was confirmed by NMR ( 1 H, 31 P, 13 C) and IR spectroscopy.  相似文献

Abstract— The photocycloaddition reaction of 5,7-dimethoxycoumarin to thymidine on direct irradiation (λ > 300 nm) is studied as a model for photosensitization reaction of furocoumarins. The major photoadducts were isolated by silica gel column and gel permeation chromatography. Each component of the photoadducts was further separated by reverse phase, paired-ion high performance liquid chromatography. The structure of these photoproducts isolated is consistent with 1:1 C4-cycloadducts in accordance with characteristics of their UV, IR, NMR and mass spectra and elemental analysis data. The stereochemistry of each isomer was studied by Fourier transform NMR, UV and IR spectra. The fraction C has the anti head-to-tail configuration and the fraction D has the configuration of anti head-to-head. The fractions A and B probably have the syn configuration.  相似文献

Photocyclodimerization of alpha-cyclodextrin (CD)-appended anthracene was studied in the presence of gamma-CD and cucurbit[8]uril (CB[8]) hosts to manipulate the stereodifferentiating photoreaction occurring inside the cavity by the bulky attachment located outside. The gamma-CD-mediated photodimerization afforded the head-to-tail photodimers in 98% combined yield, in particular, the syn-head-to-tail photodimer of 91% ee in 68% yield, which are much greater than 32% ee and 44% yield obtained with unmodified anthracene carboxylate. The use of CB[8] also led to a striking inversion of the head-to-tail/head-to-head selectivity, affording exclusively the head-to-head photodimers in 99% combined yield.  相似文献
