Let E be a globally generated vector bundle of rank e ≥ 2 over a reduced irreducible projective variety X of dimension n defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic zero. Let L := det(E). If deg(E) := deg(L) = L n  > 0 and E is not isomorphic to , we obtain a sharp bound
on the degree of E, proving also that deg(L) = h 0(X, L) − n if equality holds. As an application, we obtain a Del Pezzo–Bertini type theorem on varieties of minimal degree for subvarieties of Grassmannians, as well as a bound on the sectional genus for subvarieties of degree at most N + 1. Let X be an irreducible smooth projective curve defined over the field of complex numbers, a finite set of closed points and N ≥ 2 a fixed integer. For any pair , there exists a parabolic vector bundle on X, with parabolic structure over S and all parabolic weights in , that has the following property: Take any parabolic vector bundle of rank r on X whose parabolic points are contained in S, all the parabolic weights are in and the parabolic degree is d. Let be a very ample vector bundle of rank two on a smooth complex projective threefold X. An inequality about the third Segre class of is provided when is nef but not big, and when a suitable positive multiple of defines a morphism XB with connected fibers onto a smooth projective curve B, where KX is the canonical bundle of X. As an application, the case where the genus of B is positive and has a global section whose zero locus is a smooth hyperelliptic curve of genus ≧ 2 is investigated, and our previous result is improved for threefolds. This note studies the structure of the divisorial fixed part of for a 1-connected curve D on a smooth surface S. It is shown that if the divisorial fixed part F of is non empty then it has arithmetic genus ≤ 0 and each component of F is a smooth rational curve. Let X be a smooth complex projective variety and let be a smooth submanifold of dimension , which is the zero locus of a section of an ample vector bundle of rank on X. Let H be an ample line bundle on X, whose restriction HZ to Z is generated by global sections. Triplets as above are classified under the assumption that is a polarized manifold of sectional genus 2. We prove the existence of positive symmetric solutions to the semilinear elliptic problem
in both the radial case N = k ≥ 3 and the cylindrical case N ≥ k + 3 ≥ 6. The potential V is measurable, positive and it is only required to satisfy a mild integrability condition. The nonlinearity is continuous and has a doublepower behavior, super-critical near the origin and sub-critical at infinity. If f is odd, we show that the radial problem has infinitely many solutions. In proving these results we exploit the compactness of suitable restrictions of the embedding Supported by MIUR, project “Variational Methods and Nonlinear Differential Equations”.  相似文献

We consider a quasilinear PDE system which models nonlinear vibrations of a thermoelastic plate defined on a bounded domain in , n ≤ 3. Existence of finite energy solutions describing the dynamics of a nonlinear thermoelastic plate is established. In addition asymptotic long time behavior of weak solutions is discussed. It is shown that finite energy solutions decay exponentially to zero with the rate depending only on the (finite energy) size of initial conditions. The proofs are based on methods of weak compactness along with nonlocal partial differential operator multipliers which supply the sought after “recovery” inequalities. Regularity of solutions is also discussed by exploiting the underlying analyticity of the linearized semigroup along with a related maximal parabolic regularity [1, 16, 44]. The research of I. We study the existence of solutions of control problems relative to a nonlinear elliptic system with Dirichlet boundary conditions. In this problem, the control variables are the coefficients of the equations and the open set where they are posed. It is known that this class of problems has no solution in general, but using homogenization results about elliptic systems we show the existence of solutions when the controls are searched in a bigger set. The aim of this paper is to give the basic principles of hyperbolic function theory on the Clifford algebra . The structure of the theory is quite similar to the case of Clifford algebras with negative generators, but the proofs are not obvious. The (real) Clifford algebra is generated by unit vectors with positive squares e2i = + 1. The hyperbolic Dirac operator is of the form where Q0f is represented by the composition . If is a solution of Hkf = 0, then f is called k-hypergenic in Ω, where is an open set. We introduce some basic results of hyperbolic function theory and give some representation theorems on . The moduli space parameterizes the isomorphism classes of S-pointed stable real curves of genus zero which are invariant under relabeling by the involution σ. This moduli space is stratified according to the degeneration types of σ-invariant curves. The degeneration types of σ-invariant curves are encoded by their dual trees with additional decorations. We construct a combinatorial graph complex generated by the fundamental classes of strata of . We show that the homology of is isomorphic to the homology of our graph complex. We are interested in the stability of holomorphic rank 2 vector bundles of degree 0 over compact Riemann surfaces, which are provided with irreducible meromophic tracefree connections. In the case of a logarithmic connection on the Riemann sphere, such a vector bundle will be trivial up to the isomonodromic deformation associated to a small move of the poles, according to a result of A. Bolibruch. In the general case of meromorphic connections over Riemann surfaces of arbitrary genus, we prove that the vector bundle will be semi-stable, up to a small isomonodromic deformation. More precisely, the vector bundle underlying the universal isomonodromic deformation is generically semi-stable along the deformation, and even maximally stable.
