We study the symbolic blow-up ring of a prime ideal defining a monomial curve in the power series ring in 3 variables over a field. We characterize the conditions required to have the symbolic blow-up generated in degree 4 when the monomial curve is non-self-linked. When this is the case we also find that the symbolic blow-up cannot be Cohen–Macaulay.  相似文献

Let Abe an integral domain and Sa torsion-free can-cellative Abelian semigroup. By analogy with known results on polynomial rings and group rings, results are sought for a number of properties of the semigroup ring A[S]; The properties of interest include coequidimensionality, (universal) catenarity, (stably strong) S-domain, and (locally, residually, totally) Jaffard do-main. Positive results, leading to new examples of rings with some of the above properties, are obtained in case (the quotient group of) Shas rank 1 or Sis finitely generated. An example shows that some results do not carry over in case Shas rank 2 but is not finitely generated.  相似文献

Any ring with Krull dimension satisfies the ascending chain condition on semiprime ideals. This result does not hold more generally for modules. In particular if Ris the first Weyl algebra over a field of characteristic 0 then there are Artinian R-modules which do not satisfy the ascending chain condition on prime submodules. However, if Ris a ring which satisfies a polynomial identity then any R-module with Krull dimension satisfies the ascending chain condition on prime submodules, and, if Ris left Noethe-rian, also the ascending chain condition on semiprime submodules.  相似文献

This article studies subrings which satisfy a density-type criterion called m-density. It is first observed that if V is a faithful quasiinjective R-module then R is an m-dense subring of BiendRV. This is used to obtain the main result which states that R is an m-dense subring of a direct product of rings of linear transformations if and only if R has a faithful locally finite dimensional module whose essential sub-modules are rational.  相似文献

Abstract

We construct an example of an IA-automorphism of the free metabelian group of rank n ≥ 3 without nontrivial fixed points. That gives a negative answer to the question raised by Shpilrain in [Shpilrain, V. (1998). Fixed points of endomorphisms of a free metabelian group. Math. Proc. Cambridge Philos. Soc. 123(1): 75–83. MR 98k:20056]. By a result of Bachmuth [Bachmuth, S. (1965). Automorphisms of free metabelian groups. Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 118:93–1104. MR 31 #4831], such an automorphism does not exist if the rank is equal to 2.  相似文献

A module M R is defined to be strongly compressible (or SC for short) if for every essential submodule N of M, there exists X ? E(M) such that M ? X ? N. We show that a ring R is semiprime right Goldie iff R Ris SC module iff every right ideal of R is SC module iff every submodule of each progenerator of Mod-R is SC module. As corollaries of this result, we obtain some new module-theoretic characterizations of semiprime Goldie rings, prime (right) Goldie rings and Prüfer rings, etc., etc.,respectively. And the characterization theorem of semiprime Goldie rings of López-Permouth, Rizvi and Yousif by using weakly-injective modules can be regarded as a corollary of our results.  相似文献
