Polyaniline/montmorillonite (PAn/MMT) composite material has been prepared through chemical‐oxidative polymerization by using NH4S2O8 as the oxidant, and it was found that both the composites have inorganic and organic material characteristics and many outstanding performance through the copolymerization coupling of MMT and polyaniline. Infrared spectroscopy (FT‐IR), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), X‐ray diffraction (XRD), and transmission electron microscopy (TEM) are used to characterize the composition and structures of composite materials, as well as test the conductivity of composite materials through a four‐probe technique. The preparation conditions of PAn/MMT conducting composites are optimized. The optimal conditions have been identified for the reaction time, amount of oxidizer, concentration of HCl, and the amount of MMT. Besides, the results show that when the reaction lasts for 8 hr in the ice bath, the amount of MMT is 0.4 g/5 ml An, the mole ratio of oxidant to aniline is 1, and the concentration of hydrochloric acid is 2 M, the composite had the largest conductivity up to 11.5 S/cm. In addition, we also did an elemental analysis of the composite mechanism of PAn/MMT composites. Copyright © 2008 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

The focus of this study was to synthesize the inherently conductive polymer polyaniline using an optimized process to prepare polyaniline/silicon dioxide (PANI/SiO2) composites by in situ polymerization and ex situ solution mixing. PANI and PANI/SiO2 composite films were prepared by drop‐by‐drop and spin coating methods. The electrical conductivities of HCl doped PANI film and PANI/SiO2 composite films were measured according to the standard four‐point‐probe technique. The composite films exhibited an increase in electrical conductivity over neat PANI. PANI and PANI/SiO2 composites were also investigated by spectroscopic methods including UV‐Vis, FT‐IR, and Photoluminescence. UV‐Vis and FT‐IR studies showed that SiO2 particles affect the quinoid units along the polymer backbone and indicate strong interactions between the SiO2 particles and the quinoidal sites of PANI (doping effect). The photoluminescence properties of PANI and PANI/SiO2 composites were studied and the PANI/SiO2 composites showed increased intensity as compared to neat PANI. The increase of conductivity of PANI/SiO2 composite may be partially due to the doping or impurity effect of SiO2 where the silicon dioxides compete with chloride ions. The morphology of particles and films were examined by a scanning electron microscope (SEM). SEM measurements indicated that the SiO2 were well dispersed and isolated in composite films. In this study, polyamide6 (PA6) nanofiber mats were fabricated through the electrospinning process. The nanofibers were coated by polyaniline (PANI) using the in situ polymerization of aniline in the presence of graphene oxide. The composite of the PANI/graphene oxide–coated nanofiber mat was treated with hydrazine monohydrate to reduce graphene oxide to graphene, and this was followed by the reoxidation of PANI. Field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), wide angle X‐ray diffraction (WAXD), thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA), tensile strength tests, electrical conductivity measurements, cyclic voltammetry (CV), and charge/discharge measurements were conducted on the composite PA6/graphene nanofiber mats. It was found that the surface of the PA6 nanofibers was coated uniformly with the granular PANI and graphene oxide. Besides, the composite nanofibers showed good tensile and thermal properties. Their electrical conductivity and specific capacitance, when used as a separator in the cell, were 1.02 × 10?4 S/cm and 423.28 F/g, respectively. Therefore, the composite PANI/reduced graphene oxide–coated PA6 nanofiber mats could be regarded as suitable candidates for application in energy storage devices.  相似文献

In general, the high electrical conductivity (EC) comes into conflict with the good flexibility and high strength of carbon nanotube (CNT)/polyaniline (PANI) composites. In other words, a high CNT content will bring about a high EC but lead to a low flexibility and strength due to the CNT‐constrained matrix deformation and CNT aggregation. In this work, a highly conductive, flexible and strong CNT/PANI composite film prepared via a facile solvent‐evaporation method is readily obtained by a cold stretching. The cold stretching is conducted at room temperature for the CNT/PANI film. It is observed that the cold stretching process leads to an unexpectedly enhanced EC. The as‐obtained EC of 231 S/cm is much higher than that (2 – 50 S/cm) of the previously reported CNT/PANI composite films. Meanwhile, the strength is obviously improved over that of the pure PANI film and the good flexibility is maintained to a high degree by the introduction of a proper CNT content. © 2015 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A novel amorphous polyamide/montmorillonite nanocomposite based on poly(hexamethylene isophthalamide) was successfully prepared by melt intercalation. Wide angle X-ray diffraction and transmission electron microscopy showed that organoclay containing quaternary amine surfactants with phenyl and hydroxyl groups was delaminated in the polymer matrix resulting in well-exfoliated morphologies even at high montmorillonite content. Differential scanning calorimetry results indicated that clay platelets did not induce the formation of a crystalline phase in this amorphous polymer. Tensile tests demonstrated that the addition of nanoclay caused a dramatic increase in Young's modulus (almost twofold) and yield strength of the nanocomposites compared with the homopolymer. The nanocomposites exhibited ductile behavior up to 5 wt % of nanoclay. The improvement in Young's modulus is comparable with semicrystalline aliphatic nylon 6 nanocomposites. Both the main chain amide groups and the amorphous nature of the polyamide are responsible for enhancing the dispersion of the nanofillers, thereby, leading to improved properties of the nanocomposites. The structure-property relationship for these nanocomposites was also explored. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 46: 2605–2617, 2008  相似文献

Polyaniline (PANI)/polysulfone (PSF) composite films are successfully prepared by phase separation and one-step in-situ polymerization. It is found that the head-on face (in contact with solution) of the films is green while the back face is white. The chemical component and the surface morphology of both surfaces of the films are characterized by FT-IR spectra and SEM, respectively. The effect of the polymerization temperature, time and concentration of the reactants on the electrical properties of the films are discussed in details. The thermo-oxidative degradation of the films is studied by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). The results indicate that the thermal stability of the PANI/PSF films is higher than that of the pure PSF film. __________ Translated from Journal of Northwest Normal University (Natural Science), 2005, 39(11) (in Chinese)  相似文献

Thermal transporting properties of electrically conductive polyaniline films were first investigated in wide range of temperatures above room temperature as organic thermoelectric materials. Thermal conductivities of various protonic acid-doped polyaniline films were measured by combination of a laser flash method and a differential scanning calorimeter in relation with electrical conductivity and a kind of dopant. The thermal conductivities thus measured are in the range of conventional organic polymers, indicating that the doped polyaniline films have extremely low thermal conductivities among electrically conductive materials, and have correlation with neither electrical conductivity, nor a kind of dopant. Consequently the polyaniline film, which shows very high electrical conductivity, has comparable thermoelectric figure-of-merit (ZT) with feasible inorganic thermoelectric materials such as iron silicide. This revised version was published online in August 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

Reactive compatibilization of immiscible polymers is becoming increasingly important and hence a representative study of a polycarbonate/high density polyethylene (PC/HDPE) system is the focus of this paper. A grafted copolymer PC‐graft‐ethylene‐co‐acrylic acid (PC‐graft‐EAA) was generated as a compatibilizer in situ during processing operation by ester and acid reaction between PC and ethylene‐acrylic acid (EAA) in the presence of the catalyst dibutyl tin oxide (DBTO). As the polyethylene (PE) matrix does not play any part during the synthesis of the copolymer and since PC and EAA are also immiscible, to simplify the system, the influence of this copolymer formation at the interface between PC and EAA on rheological properties, phase morphology, and crystallization behavior for EAA/PC binary blends was first studied. The equilibrium torque increased with the DBTO content increasing in EAA/PC blends on Haake torque rheometer, indicating the in situ formation of the graft copolymer. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) studies of cryogenically fractured surfaces showed a significant change at the distribution and dispersion of the dispersed phase in the presence of DBTO, compared with the EAA/PC blend without the catalyst. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) studies suggested that the heat of fusion of the EAA phase in PC/EAA blends with or without DBTO reduced with the formation of the copolymer compared with pure EAA. Then morphological studies and crystallization behavior of the uncompatibilized and compatibilized blends of PC/PE were studied as functions of EAA phase concentration and DBTO content. Morphological observations in PC/PE blends also revealed that on increasing the EAA content or adding the catalyst DBTO, the number of microvoids was reduced and the interface was intensive as compared to the uncompatibilized PC/PE blends. Crystallization studies indicated that PE crystallized at its bulk crystallization temperature. The degree of crystallinity of PE phase in PC/PE/EAA blends was also reduced with the addition of EAA and DBTO compared to the uncompatibilized blends of PC/PE, indicating the decrease in the degree of crystallinity was more in the presence of PC‐graft‐EAA. In this work, completely immiscible polyethylene/polyamidel2 (PE/PA12) blends were prepared by high shear extruder. The morphology and mechanical properties of the blends were investigated as a function of rotation speed. It wasfound that the high shear processing is an effective method to improve the dispersion of the PAl2 phase in PE matrix whenPAl2 contents are 5 wt% and 10 wt%,and the dispersed phase particle size is reduced with the increase of rotation speed from 100 r/min to 500 r/min.However,with further increase of PAl2 content to 20 wt%,high shear processing has no effect on the phase morphology of the blends.Accordingly,a largely increased elongation at break and impact strength are observed for PE/PA12/95/5 and PE/PA12/90/10 blends obtained at high rotation speeds but no effect on the property of PE/PA12/80/20.Annealing experiment demonstrated that the obtained phase morphology is not stable thus compatibilizer should be introduced in the future work. This work could provide a guideline for the application of high shear processing in the preparation of polymer blends with huge polarity difference.  相似文献

In this study, silica/polystyrene/polyaniline (SiO2/PS/PANI) conductive composite particles were synthesized by four sequential reactions. The nanosized SiO2 particles were synthesized from tetraethoxysilane (TEOS) by a sol–gel process with water as the solvent medium, followed by a surface modification with triethoxyvinylsilane; then the surface modified SiO2 particles were used as seeds to synthesize SiO2/PS composite particles with soapless seeded emulsion polymerization. Finally, the SiO2/PS particles were used as seeds to synthesize the SiO2/PS/PANI conductive composite particles. The sol–gel process of SiO2, the effect of surface modification, and several other factors that influenced polymerization of styrene in the soapless seeded emulsion polymerization will be discussed. Either potassium persulfate (KPS) or 2,2′‐azobis(isobutyramidine) dihydrochloride (AIBA) was used as the initiator to synthesize the uniform SiO2/PS particles successfully, and the cross‐section morphology of the SiO2/PS particles was found to be of a core–shell structure, with SiO2 as the core, and PS as the shell. The SiO2/PS particles were well dispersed in many organic solvents. In the following step to synthesize SiO2/PS/PANI conductive composite particles, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) played an important role, specifically, to absorb aniline onto the surfaces of the SiO2/PS particles to carry out the polymerization of aniline over the entire surface of the particles. The conductivity of the SiO2/PS/PANI composite particles approached that of semiconductive materials. © 2004 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 43: 342–354, 2005  相似文献

In this study, free‐standing polymer films were obtained first with an electrochemical coating of polyaniline and then with a coating of polypyrrole on an insulating polycarbonate‐coated Pt electrode. The films contained varying amounts of polyaniline and polypyrrole obtained by varying the electrolysis time, and their conductivities were determined. The Raman spectra of the films taken from the electrode side were similar to those of pure polyaniline, whereas the spectra of the solution side were identical to those of pure polypyrrole. The resistance change in the films between −15 and +120°C revealed that the films were sensitive to temperature. © 2000 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 38: 51–59, 2000  相似文献

Conductivity stability at thermal environment of conductive polyaniline‐complexes/polyimide (PANI‐complexes/PI) blends, which were doped by camphorsulfonic acid (CSA) and dodecylbenzenesulfonic acid (DBSA), respectively, were investigated by conductivity measurements, electron spin resonance (ESR) spectra, differential and scanning thermometer (DSC). In the conversion process of PANI/Polyamic acid (PAA) to PANI/PI, the blend endeavored some kinds of alteration such as decomplexation of moisture and solvent, dissociation of dopant, crosslinking of PANI chain, and the imidization of PAA chain. PANI‐DBSA/PI showed higher thermal stability of conductivity than PANI‐CSA/PI, and both samples showed nearly linear decay of conductivity with increasing temperature showing greatly enhancement of conductivity stability. When they were exposed at near or over glass transition temperature, the conductivity decay became faster. The conductivity stability at base environment was also higher for PANI‐DBSA/PI due to difficulty in accessing of hydroxyl ion to PANI, which were resulted from dopant. DBSA‐doped blends showed increased polaron mobility and concentration at relatively high temperature, which led to extremely higher conductivity and its stability at high temperature. Graphene oxide (GO)–polyaniline (PANI) composite is synthesized by in situ polymerization of aniline in the presence of GO as oxidant, resulting in highly crystalline and conductive composite. Fourier transform infrared spectrum confirms aniline polymerization in the presence of GO without using conventional oxidants. Scanning electron microscopic images show the formation of PANI nanofibers attached to GO sheets. X‐ray diffraction (XRD) patterns indicate the presence of highly crystalline PANI. The sharp peaks in XRD pattern suggest GO sheets not only play an important role in the polymerization of aniline but also in inducing highly crystalline phase of PANI in the final composite. Electrical conductivity of doped GO–PANI composite is 582.73 S m?1, compared with 20.3 S m?1 for GO–PANI obtained by ammonium persulfate assisted polymerization. The higher conductivity appears to be the result of higher crystallinity and/or chemical grafting of PANI to GO, which creates common conjugated paths between GO and PANI. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. One-dimensional gold/polyaniline (Au/PANI-CSA) coaxial nanocables with an average diameter of 50-60 nm and lengths of more than 1 mum were successfully synthesized by reacting aniline monomer with chlorauric acid (HAuCl(4)) through a self-assembly process in the presence of D-camphor-10-sulfonic acid (CSA), which acts as both a dopant and surfactant. It was found that the formation probability and the size of the Au/PANI-CSA nanocables depends on the molar ratio of aniline to HAuCl(4) and the concentration of CSA, respectively. A synergistic growth mechanism was proposed to interpret the formation of the Au/PANI-CSA nanocables. The directly measured conductivity of a single gold/polyaniline nanocable was found to be high (approximately 77.2 S cm(-1)). Hollow PANI-CSA nanotubes, with an average diameter of 50-60 nm, were also obtained successfully by dissolving the Au nanowire core of the Au/PANI-CSA nanocables.  相似文献

Novel waterborne polyurethane (WPU) was prepared and coated on nylon 12 (Ny12) and fullerene-C60 (Full-C60, 1–10 wt%) composite films using simple dip coating technique. In Ny12/Full-C60 composite, fullerene nanoparticles were dispersed in a wavy layered pattern, whereas coated WPU/Ny12/Full-C60 films depicted uniform pattern of non-overlapping scales. WPU/Ny12/Full-C60 1–10 showed higher values of tensile strength and modulus, 91.4–98.1 MPa and 52.2–57.9 GPa, respectively. In WPU/Ny12/Full-C60 1–10, maximum degradation temperature was increased to 598°C and char yield to 35%. Increasing fullerene content from 1 to 10 wt% decreased maximum peak heat release rate from 209 to 132 kW m?2, i.e., 53% reduction in flammability compared to WPU.  相似文献

Plasma polymerization of aniline and in-situ doping of polvaniline with iodine was carried out using radio frequency glow discharge. Thin films of polyaniline were deposited on platinum and glass. The infrared spectrum shows that the aromatic ring is retained under the plasma conditions. The electrical conductivity measurements indicate that the conductivity increases by more than seven orders of magnitude when the polyaniline is doped by iodine. The scanning electron microscopic studies reveal the formation of irregular pentagons on glass substrate while on platinum, polvaniline forms a fibrillar network. In both the cases a continuous film is obtained.  相似文献

Compounds were prepared with isotactic polypropylene (iPP) matrix and recycled polyamide 66 fibres (PA66), which were obtained as soft waste in industrial production process. Blends with pristine PA66 pellets were prepared as comparison. The blends showed the presence of PA66 particles dispersed in the PP continuous phase. Considering the incompatibility of the two polymers the addition of isotactic polypropylene grafted with maleic anhydride (iPPgMA) as compatibilizer was investigated: the blends were characterized by thermal, mechanical, dynamic-mechanical and morphological analyses. The presence of the compatibilizer significantly influences the morphology of the blends, inducing a finer dispersion and promoting interfacial adhesion. The characterization of pristine and recycled PA66 did not show a meaningful difference in the value of molecular weight, on the other hand marked differences were presented in the flexural moduli of the two materials; analogous differences were exhibited by the blends: compounds prepared with recycled PA66 showed flexural moduli higher than compatibilized blends with pristine PA66.  相似文献

C60/polyaniline (PANI) nanocomposites have been synthesized by the oxidative polymerization of aniline with ammonium peroxydisulfate in the presence of C60 by using an interfacial reaction. When compared with the pure PANI nanofibers from the similar process, the diameter of the obtained C60/PANI nanofibers was increased because of the encapsulation of C60 into PANI during aniline polymerization, which resulted from the charge‐transfer interactions between C60 and aniline fragment in PANI. In addition, the resulting C60/PANI nanocomposites synthesized from the low initial C60/aniline molar ratio (less than 1:25) showed the homogenous morphology composed of fiber network structures, which has an electrical conductivity as high as 1.1 × 10?4 S/cm. However, the C60/PANI nanocomposites from the higher initial C60/aniline molar ratio (more than 1:15) showed the nonuniformly distributed morphology, and the electrical conductivity was decreased to 3.5 × 10?5 S/cm. Moreover, the C60/PANI nanocomposites from the interfacial reaction showed a higher value of electrical conductivity than the mechanically mixed C60/PANI blends with the same C60 content, because of the more evenly distributed microstructures. FTIR, UV–vis, and CV data confirmed the presence of C60 and the significant charge‐transfer interactions in the resultant nanocomposites, which was responsible for the morphology development of the C60/PANI and the variation of the electrical conductivity. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
