We have recently reported 16 new far-infrared laser emissions of CD2Cl2. While the overwhelming majority of the previously known FIR laser emissions of this molecule were polarized parallel to the polarization of the pump CO2 line, 13 of our 16 new lines are polarized perpendicularly to the exciting CO2 radiation. In principle, the presence of perpendicular/parallel emission pairs is extremely important for the assignment of laser transitions. In the present work we discuss the possible assignments of 16 far-infrared (FIR) laser emission pairs of CD2Cl2.  相似文献

By means of a new CO2 laser we performed a new investigation of the far-infrared laser emission spectrum of hydrazine excited by the 10P(32) and 10R(8) CO2 laser lines. We found seven new lines and measured the frequency of four of them; moreover we measured the frequencies of two more lines previously reported in the literature with only wavelength measurements. The frequencies of the far-infrared laser emissions have been measured by means of a frequency-synthesis chain based on new InP Schottky diodes. The detected signal was beat-note generated in a Schottky diode between the far-infrared radiation, the harmonics of a 72 GHz frequency reference and a rf signal. We also characterized all of the observed lines by their polarization relative to the pumping CO2 laser, the optimum pressure and the offset relative to the CO2 center frequency. We have investigated CHD2OH methanol as source of far-infrared (FIR) laser radiation using the optical pumping technique. Our new waveguide pulsed CO2 laser, with peak powers as high as some kW, has allowed us to observe 12 new lines. Each of them is characterized in wavelength, relative polarization, intensity, optimum operating pressure and pump offset from the center of the exciting CO2 line.  相似文献

We have re-investigated the 12CH3OH and the 13CH3OH molecules as optically pumped far-infrared laser sources. We have used our new waveguide pulsed-high-peak-power CO2 laser for pumping, finding 20 new far-infrared laser lines emitted by 12CH3OH and seven emitted by 13CH3OH. For each line we report wavelength, pump offset from the center of the exciting CO2 line, relative polarization, optimum operating pressure and intensity. We investigated the 13CD3I isotopomer of methyl iodide as a source of TeraHertz laser radiation using the optical pumping technique. We used a pulsed waveguide CO2 laser as the pump laser and an open Fabry–Pérot cavity for new laser line generation. We discovered 18 new laser lines with wavelengths ranging from 308.4 to 1132.7 μm, plus two lines previously assigned to 12CD3I. All of the lines were characterized in wavelength, pump frequency offset, optimum pressure of operation, and relative polarization and intensity.  相似文献

Twenty-five new laser lines have been obtained in the wavelength region from 155 to 830 μm by optically pumping the CD2Cl2 (deuterated dichloromethane) molecule with a CW CO2 laser having a tunability range of 300 MHz. The wavelength, polarization relative to that of CO2 pumping radiation, and offset relative to the CO2 center frequency were determined for all of the new lines and some other already known laser emissions. This work reports 83 new optically pumped far infrared laser lines, using deuterated methyl alcohol, CHD2OH, as active medium. We obtained twelve new far infrared laser transitions by optically pumping the CH2DOH, CH3I, CD3I and Trioxymethylene molecules with a CW CO2 laser having a tunability range of 280 MHz. Eight far-infrared laser lines have been obtained by optically pumping acetaldehyde (CH3CHO) and nine by pumping vinyl fluoride (CH2CHF) with a cw CO2 laser. The far-infrared laser structure used a metal-dielectric waveguide cavity. This is the first reported observation of four of the laser lines in acetaldehyde. In this work, we measure the frequency, optimum pressure of operation, relative intensity, relative polarization, and pump offset from CO2 laser-line center.  相似文献

A three-laser heterodyne system was used to measure the frequencies of twelve optically pumped laser emissions from 13CH3OH in the far-infrared (FIR) region. These emissions, ranging from 54 to 142 μm, are reported with fractional uncertainties up to ±2×10-7 along with their polarization relative to the CO2 pump. In this work we report new FIR laser lines from CD3OD optically pumped by a CO2 waveguide laser. The wide tunability of this laser (290 MHz) makes it possible to pump absorption lines with large frequency offset relative to the CO2 laser line center, which are not possible by using conventional CO2 lasers. As a consequence 19 new laser lines have been discovered, ranging from 38.0 m to 455.2 m in wavelength. For all lines, precise frequency offset measurements between the CO2 line center and the center of the absorber CD3OD line were performed using the transferred Lamb-dip technique. We report 12 new THz (far-infrared) laser lines from methanol (CH3OH), ranging from 58.1 μm (5.2 THz) to 624.6 μm (0.5 THz). A 13CO2 laser of wide tunability (110 MHz) has been used for optical pumping, allowing access to previously unexplored spectral regions. Optoacoustic absorption spectra were used as a guide to search for new THz laser lines, which have been characterized in wavelength, polarization, offset, relative intensity, and optimum operation pressure. The results described in this work are part of a systematic search for long wavelength laser lines to be used in high magnetic field EPR applications and in plasma diagnostic. Four new far-infrared laser lines of CH2 = CF2 (1,1 difluoroethylene), optically pumped by a waveguide CO2 laser, have been discovered and characterized in wavelength, polarization relative to the pumping radiation and offset relative to the CO2 center frequency. New measurements of polarization and offset of 5 already known laser lines are also reported. A table of all of the known CO2 pumped FIR laser lines from this molecule is given.  相似文献

The methanol isotopic species CH3OD has also proved to be an efficient and powerful medium to generate radiation in the far infrared (FIR) region. After the critical review of 1994, six papers have been published dealing with new FIR laser lines from this molecule. As a consequence of the use of wide tunability waveguide CO2 lasers as well as a new pulsed CO2 laser operating at hot and sequential bands, as of optical pumping sources, the total number of the FIR laser lines increased from 122 in 1994 to 227 today. In this communication we present an updated and complete catalogue of FIR laser lines generated from CH3OD. Information on wavelength, offset, relative polarization, intensity, and optimum operation pressure is generally available.  相似文献

In this paper, infrared (IR) emissions from a TE CO2 laser pumped NH3 laser are reported. 38 IR laser lines were obtained from a CO2 9R(30) line pumped NH3 : N2 mixture by cooling a NH3 laser tube, and 13 lines of them were new emission lines as far as we known. Four Q-branch lines were included and the others belonged to P-branch transitions. The 12.078 μm line, which was the strongest line in this experiment, was used to pump an InSb spin-fip Raman (SFR) laser which could be tuned from 13.35 to 13.55 μm.  相似文献

Fully deuterated isotopomers of methanol (12CD3OD and 13CD3OD) were optically pumped with a CO2 laser. Five new far-infrared laser lines were discovered in 12CD3OD and 25 in 13CD3OD in the range 43.697 to 719.426 m. The frequencies of these new and some previously reported laser lines, the pump offset, the relative polarization, the relative intensity, and the optimum pressure of operation were measured.  相似文献

We have obtained laser action on 34 far infrared lines for the first time in fully deuterated methyl alcohol with the13C isotope (13CD3OD), and we have measured the frequency of 13 lines. The molecule was pumped by a cw CO2 laser. We have measured the wavelength, the relative polarization, the relative intensity of most lines, the frequency, and the CO2 pump frequency offset of the strongest lines.
