Using microcalorimetric method, the thermally measured curves of different types of metabolism of E. coli were determined. From these thermal measured curves, we can obtain the heat output of E. coli at growth metabolism to be 1 .74+10.63 pW.cell- 1; and0.14+0.04 pW.cell-1 at the non-growth metabolism while at the endogenous metabolismit is 0.045+0.001 pW﹒cell-1

细胞是生命的基本单位．对其代谢过程能量输出水平的直接测定，对细胞生理学来说是重要的实验基础数据，对于生物生理和研究能量代谢方面也有一定的理论意义．当然细胞的多样性及其代谢过程的复杂性使这一研究工作相当困难·作为开展研究的第一步我们选择便于培养处理的单细胞生物大肠杆菌作为研究对象，并对其所进行时三种基本代谢类型29Llxi：L谢；非生长依队和内派代谢分别进行研究，本文分别测定了＊烟三种不同类型代谢的热功率输出水平，得到了单个细胞在上述代谢过程热功率输出的定量数据．实验结果表明，不同类型代谢的能量输出水平…

By using LKB2277 Bioactivity Monitor, we have determined the thermogenesis power curves of four kinds of bacteria: Brucella M5(55010), 83-980, 83-981 and E. coli. We have also derived the thermokinetic equation for the process of bacterial growth, which was untypical "S" , unideal growth, as:
Ln[P•(1-P/Pm)?-1]=ln[P0•(1-P0/Pm)?-1]+kt
From this equation, the rate constants of bacterial growth k wore obtained. This thermokinetic equation is very suitable for cell growth of separated culture, in which the thermogenesis curve is untypical. The model propoted by equationl(1) has been compared with the exponential and logistic models. This thermokinetic equation is very significant for the study of bacterial limited growth and their characteristics.

By using an LKB2277 Bioactivity Monitor, we have determined the thermogenesis power curves of four kinds of Brucellas S2(55007), M5 (55009),83-202,83-980. And established the thermokinetic equation for the process of cell growth inhibited by the products of metabolism, as:
Ln[1/(β﹒Pt)-1]=ln[1/(β﹒P0)-1]-k0﹒t
From this equation, the rate constants of cell growth k [= k0(1 - β﹒P0)] were obtained. This thermokinetic equation is very suitable for cell growth of separated culture and is very important for the study of bacterial limited growth and their characteristics.

By using an LKB-2277 Bioactivity Monitor, we have determined the thermogenesis curves of two species of Brucellas arithmetic series growth. From the thermogenesis curves, a thermokinetic equation as:

could be established for bacterial arithmetic series growth in which the order of growth metabolism n=0. The mean specific rate constant of multiplication μand the mean generation time G et al. were calculated. This model was compared with the exponential model.

Metabolism of Pyrene and Chrysene in Epithelial Human Bronchial and Hamster Lung Cells

Abstract

The metabolism of pyrene and chrysene in epithelial human bronchial and in hamster lung cells has been studied and found to be very similar in both systems, although it differs from that observed in rat lung microsomes. Metabolite profiles have been analyzed by means of capillary GC and by GC/MS.

The Characteristics of the action of Na2SeO3 on Rhizopus nigrocans has been studied by means of microcalorimetry, the relationship between growth rate constants and the concentration of Na2SeO3 is
k=0.03608exp[-0.003608(c+8.60)2]
It was found that Na2SeO3 of low concentration has promoting action on the growth of Rhizopus nigrocans cells, and high concentration of Na2SeO3 has inhibitory action. The study has provided a lot of information on the bioaffect of selenium and the research of toxicology.
