The ability of entangled states to act as a resource for teleportation is linked to a property of the fully entangled fraction. We show that the set of states with their fully entangled fraction bounded by a threshold value required for performing teleportation is both convex and compact. This feature enables the existence of Hermitian witness operators, the measurement of which could distinguish unknown states useful for performing teleportation. We present an example of such a witness operator illustrating it for different classes of states.  相似文献

A set of Bell inequalities classifying the quantum entanglement of arbitrary dimensional tripartite systems is presented. These inequalities can characterize full separable and bi-separable quantum states. In addition, for 3?3?3 systems, we present two kinds of different Bell inequalities to classify quantum entangled states based on the generators of SU(3) and the generalized Pauli operators.  相似文献

Maximally entangled states, defined as those states that have the maximal entanglement of formation under some entanglement measure, are the ideal resource for many quantum missions. In this paper, we call a convex roof of maximally entangled pure states a quasi maximally entangled state. First, we present the concept of a witness for non-quasi maximally entangled states, which is an observable that can distinguish some non-quasi maximally entangled states from quasi maximally entangled ones. Then we prove that every non-quasi maximally entangled state can be witnessed by a witness and obtain some necessary and sufficient conditions for an observable to be a witness for non-quasi maximally entangled states. Lastly, we give some classes of Hermitian operators, which can become witnesses. Especially, we compute non-quasi maximally entangled states that can be detected by a specific product operator.  相似文献

In the celebrated paper [D. Collins, N. Gisin, J. Phys. A Math. Gen. 37 (2004) 1775], Collins and Gisin presented for the first time a three-setting Bell inequality (here we call it CG inequality for simplicity) which is relevant to the Clauser–Horne–Shimony–Holt (CHSH) inequality. Inspired by their brilliant ideas, we obtained some multi-setting tight Bell inequalities, which are relevant to the CHSH inequality and the CG inequality. Moreover, we generalized the method in the paper [J.L. Chen, D.L. Deng, Phys. Rev. A 79 (2009) 012115] to construct Bell inequality for qubits to higher dimensional system. Based on the generalized method, we present, for the first time, a three-setting tight Bell inequality for two qutrits, which is maximally violated by nonmaximally entangled states and relevant to the Collins–Gisin–Linden–Massar–Popescu inequality.

We present the experimental detection of genuine multipartite entanglement using entanglement witness operators. To this aim, we introduce a canonical way of constructing and decomposing witness operators so that they can be directly implemented with present technology. We apply this method to three- and four-qubit entangled states of polarized photons, giving experimental evidence that the considered states contain true multipartite entanglement.  相似文献

We review some well-known Bell inequalities, the relations between the Bell inequality and quantum separability, and the entanglement distillation of quantum states. Bell inequalities with pseudo Hermitian operators are also discussed.  相似文献

One of the most significant and well-known properties of entangled states is that they may lead to violations of Bell inequalities and are thus inconsistent with any local-realistic theory. However, there are entangled states that cannot violate any Bell inequality, and in general the precise relationship between entanglement and observable nonlocality is not well understood. We demonstrate that a violation of the Clauser-Horne-Shimony-Holt (CHSH) inequality can be demonstrated in a certain kind of Bell experiment for all entangled states. Our proof of the result consists of two main steps. We first provide a simple characterization of the set of states that do not violate the CHSH inequality even after general local operations and classical communication. Second, we prove that for each entangled state sigma, there exists another state rho not violating the CHSH inequality, such that rhomultiply sign in circlesigma violates the CHSH inequality.  相似文献

When elliptically polarized maximally entangled states are considered, i.e., states having a non random phase factor between the two bipartite polarization components, the standard settings used for optimal violation of Bell inequalities are no longer adapted. One way to retrieve the maximal amount of violation is to compensate for this phase while keeping the standard Bell inequality analysis settings. We propose in this paper a general theoretical approach that allows determining and adjusting the phase of elliptically polarized maximally entangled states in order to optimize the violation of Bell inequalities. The formalism is also applied to several suggested experimental phase compensation schemes. In order to emphasize the simplicity and relevance of our approach, we also describe an experimental implementation using a standard Soleil-Babinet phase compensator. This device is employed to correct the phase that appears in the maximally entangled state generated from a type-II nonlinear photon-pair source after the photons are created and distributed over fiber channels.  相似文献

In this paper, the theoretical investigation of remote preparation of an entangled state is studied in nonideal conditions. Our studies include two parts. In the first part, we consider the remote state preparation (RSP) of an entangled state through two equally noisy quantum channel states, namely, a mixture of Bell states. Studies show there is a particular mixed-state channel for which all pure entangled states remain entangled after this inexact RSP. In the second part, we suppose that noises which quantum channels suffer from can be expressed as the Lindblad operators. The master equation of the system can be expressed in the Lindblad form. Through solving the master equation, we calculate the fidelity as a function of decoherence rates and parameters of the state to be prepared. For a given entangled state, we investigate the influenceof different types of noises on the fidelity.  相似文献

A quantum teleportation scheme to teleport a kind of tripartite entangled states of continuous variables by using a quantum channel composed of three bipartite entangled states is proposed. The joint Bell measurement is feasible because the bipartite entangled states are complete and the squeezed state has a natural representation in the entangled state basis. The calculation is greatly simplified by using the Schmidt decomposition of the entangled states.  相似文献

We propose a protocol for teleportation of arbitrary mixture of diagonal Bell states, it is shown that the channel can be constructed with either pure maximally entangled states or mixed bound entangled states. We also present protocols to realize the controlled teleportation of mixture of diagonal Bell states via multi-particle mixed states. Our results show that bound entangled states are also important and useful resources in quantum communication tasks.  相似文献

We present entanglement witness operators for detecting genuine multipartite entanglement. These witnesses are robust against noise and require only two local measurement settings when used in an experiment, independent of the number of qubits. This allows detection of entanglement for an increasing number of parties without a corresponding increase in effort. The witnesses presented detect states close to Greenberger-Horne-Zeilinger, cluster, and graph states. Connections to Bell inequalities are also discussed.  相似文献

Any Bell test consists of a sequence of measurements on a quantum state in spacelike separated regions. Thus, a state is better than others for a Bell test when, for the optimal measurements and the same number of trials, the probability of existence of a local model for the observed outcomes is smaller. The maximization over states and measurements defines the optimal nonlocality proof. Numerical results show that the required optimal state does not have to be maximally entangled.  相似文献

In the last years the attention of the scientific community on the generation of entangled states has constantly increased both for their importance in the foundation of quantum mechanics and for their application in the quantum computation and communication field. To these aims high quality of generated states is required. A standard procedure to produce entangled photons pairs is spontaneous down conversion process in nonlinear crystals. In this paper we report preparation of quantum entangled states using CW laser at 266 nm pumping the standard Kwiat’s source. We have been able to generate the full set of Bell’s states with very high purity, fidelity and Concurrence which have been estimated using standard tomography procedure. To proof the high degree of achieved entanglement, we performed a non-locality test obtaining a high violation of the CHSH inequality.  相似文献

We construct orthogonal Bell states with entangled squeezed vacuum states and show that these states can be discriminated with arbitrary precision when the amplitude of the squeezed states becomes sufficiently large. A scheme of teleporting a superposition state of the squeezed vacuum states based on the Bell state measurement is presented.  相似文献

We push the limits of the direct use of partially pure entangled states to perform quantum teleportation by presenting several protocols in many different scenarios that achieve the optimal efficiency possible. We review and put in a single formalism the three major strategies known to date that allow one to use partially entangled states for direct quantum teleportation (no distillation strategies permitted) and compare their efficiencies in real world implementations. We show how one can improve the efficiency of many direct teleportation protocols by combining these techniques. We then develop new teleportation protocols employing multipartite partially entangled states. The three techniques are also used here in order to achieve the highest efficiency possible. Finally, we prove the upper bound for the optimal success rate for protocols based on partially entangled Bell states and show that some of the protocols here developed achieve such a bound.  相似文献
