We discuss strange nonchaotic attractors (SNAs) in addition to chaotic and regular attractors in a quasiperiodically driven system with time delays. A route and the associated mechanism are described for a special type of attractor called strange-nonchaotic-attractor-like (SNA-like) through T2 torus bifurcation. The type of attractor can be observed in large parameter domains and it is easily mistaken for a true SNA judging merely from the phase portrait, power spectrum and the largest Lyapunov exponent. SNA-like attractor is not strange and has no phase sensitivity. Conditions for Neimark-Sacker bifurcation are obtained by theoretical analysis for the unforced system. Complicated and interesting dynamical transitions are investigated among the different tongues.  相似文献

A variety of different dynamical regimes involving strange nonchaotic attractors (SNAs) can be observed in a quasiperiodically forced delayed system. We describe some numerical experiments giving evidences of intertwined basin boundaries (smooth, non-Wada fractal and Wada property) for SNAs. In particular, we show that Wada property, fractality and smoothness can be intertwined on arbitrarily fine scales. This suggests that SNAs can exhibit the final state sensitivity and unpredictable behaviors. An interesting dynamical transition of SNAs together with associated mechanisms from non-Wada fractal to Wada intertwined basin boundaries is examined. A scaling exponent is used to characterize the intertwined basin boundaries.  相似文献

This Letter presents a new three-dimensional autonomous system with four quadratic terms. The system with five equilibrium points has complex chaotic dynamics behaviors. It can generate many different single chaotic attractors and double coexisting chaotic attractors over a large range of parameters. We observe that these chaotic attractors were rarely reported in previous work. The complex dynamical behaviors of the system are further investigated by means of phase portraits, Lyapunov exponents spectrum, Lyapunov dimension, dissipativeness of system, bifurcation diagram and Poincaré map. The physical circuit experimental results of the chaotic attractors show agreement with numerical simulations. More importantly, the analysis of frequency spectrum shows that the novel system has a broad frequency bandwidth, which is very desirable for engineering applications such as secure communications.  相似文献

There are many hyperchaotic systems, but few systems can generate hyperchaotic attractors with more than three PLEs (positive Lyapunov exponents). A new hyperchaotic system, constructed by adding an approximate time-delay state feedback to a five-dimensional hyperchaotic system, is presented. With the increasing number of phase-shift units used in this system, the number of PLEs also steadily increases. Hyperchaotic attractors with 25 PLEs can be generated by this system with 32 phase-shift units. The sum of the PLEs will reach the maximum value when 23 phase-shift units are used. A simple electronic circuit, consisting of 16 operational amplifiers and two analogy multipliers, is presented for confirming hyperchaos of order 5, i.e., with 5 PLEs.  相似文献

We construct a two-layer feedback neural network by a Monte Carlo based algorithm to store memories as fixed-point attractors or as limit-cycle attractors. Special attention is focused on comparing the dynamics of the network with limit-cycle attractors and with fixed-point attractors. It is found that the former has better retrieval property than the latter. Particularly, spurious memories may be suppressed completely when the memories are stored as a long-limit cycle. Potential application of limit-cycle-attractor networks is discussed briefly.  相似文献

Dynamical behavior of a class of nonhyperbolic discrete systems are considered. These systems are generated by iterating planar maps that are piecewise isometries, and they arise as mathematical models for signal processing, digital filters and modulator dynamics. Planar piecewise isometries may be discontinuous and/or non-invertible. First, the authors consider attraction caused by discontinuity in planar piecewise isometries. Namely, they have shown that the maximal invariant set can induce an invariant measure, and all the Lyapunov exponents are zero under this invariant measure. Second, they discuss various definitions of global attractors and their existence and uniqueness for discontinuous maps, and introduce a few examples in which the attractors are created due to discontinuity. Third, they study the relation between invariance and invertibility for various nonhyperbolic maps, and finally they investigate decomposability of global attractors for certain nonhyperbolic systems.  相似文献

A possible mechanism for the creation of strange nonchaotic attractors close to the boundary of mode-locked tongues in a family of maps of the torus is described. This mechanism is based on the numerical observation that there are parameter values on the boundary of the mode-locked tongues at which the saddlenode bifurcation of invariant curves is not smooth, and assumptions about the nature of intermittency just outside the mode-locked tongues.  相似文献

We show that symmetry-breaking (SB) bifurcation is just a transition of different forms of symmetry, while still preserving system's symmetry. SB bifurcation always associates with a periodic saddle-node bifurcation, identifiable by a zero maximum of the top Lyapunov exponent of the system. In addition, we show a significant phase portrait of a newly born periodic saddle and its stable and unstable invariant manifolds, together with their neighbouring flow pattern of Poincaré mapping points just after the periodic saddle-node bifurcation, thus gaining an insight into the mechanism of SB bifurcation.  相似文献

This Letter proposes a novel three-dimensional autonomous system which has complex chaotic dynamics behaviors and gives analysis of novel system. More importantly, the novel system can generate three-layer chaotic attractor, four-layer chaotic attractor, five-layer chaotic attractor, multilayer chaotic attractor by choosing different parameters and initial condition. We analyze the new system by means of phase portraits, Lyapunov exponent spectrum, fractional dimension, bifurcation diagram and Poincaré maps of the system. The three-dimensional autonomous system is totally different from the well-known systems in previous work. The new multilayer chaotic attractors are also worth causing attention.  相似文献

Properties of the phase space of the standard map with memory are investigated. This map was obtained from a kicked fractional differential equation. Depending on the value of the map parameter and the fractional order of the derivative in the original differential equation, this nonlinear dynamical system demonstrates attractors (fixed points, stable periodic trajectories, slow converging and slow diverging trajectories, ballistic trajectories, and fractal-like structures) and/or chaotic trajectories. At least one type of fractal-like sticky attractors in the chaotic sea was observed.  相似文献

In this Letter a novel three-dimensional autonomous chaotic system is proposed. Of particular interest is that this novel system can generate two, three and four-scroll chaotic attractors with variation of a single parameter. By applying either analytical or numerical methods, basic properties of the system, such as dynamical behaviors (time history and phase diagrams), Poincaré mapping, bifurcation diagram and Lyapunov exponents are investigated to observe chaotic motions. The obtained results clearly show that this is a new chaotic system which deserves further detailed investigation.  相似文献

We analyse stability of the generalized four-variable Rössler oscillating system depending on selected control parameters, by using analytic and Hurwitz-Routh methods. In contrast to the usual three-dimensional Rössler and Lorenz systems, we show that always there exists at least one unstable direction, and the number of positive local Lyapunov exponents may be different for both fixed points. We have found two new types of Hopf bifurcation, in which the dimension of the unstable manifold can be increased or reduced by two. Hence there are many possibilities for hyperchaotic unstable manifolds of various dimensions. We have also calculated various ranges of the control parameters for which different unstable manifolds can be obtained. This allows a better characterization of stability of the attractors in the hyperchaotic regime.  相似文献

In this paper we study different aspects of the paradigmatic Rössler model. We perform a detailed study of the local and global bifurcations of codimension one and two of limit cycles. This provides us a global idea of the three-parametric evolution of the system. We also study the regions of parameters where we may expect a chaotic behavior by the use of different Chaos Indicators. The combination of the different techniques gives an idea of the different routes to chaos and the different kinds of chaotic attractors we may found in this system.  相似文献

We report the observation of strange nonchaotic attractors in an electrochemical cell. The system parameters were chosen such that the system observable (anodic current) exhibits fixed point behavior or period one oscillations. These autonomous dynamics were thereafter subjected to external quasiperiodic forcing. Systematically varying the characteristics (frequency and amplitude) of the superimposed external signal; quasiperiodic, chaotic and strange nonchaotic behaviors in the anodic current were generated. The inception of strange nonchaotic attractors was verified using standard diagnostic techniques.  相似文献

In this work, we study the evolution of a Gaussian beam inside a one-dimensional inverted nonlinear photonic crystals (INPC) with a Kerr nonlinearity. The INPC is a kind of virtual crystals which is generated by the optical induction via the electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). The propagation dynamics of the Gaussian with different total power are identified. Four types of propagation behavior are found. They are collapse beam, breather beam, soliton and symmetry-breaking beam, respectively. The border between these four behavior types are given. For symmetry-breaking beam, an asymmetric profile of the beam is evolving from the symmetry Gaussian, which can be termed as a kind of dynamical symmetry breaking (DSB). The influences on the appearance of the symmetry breaking point are studied by varying input parameters of the Gaussian. The results of this work are both suitable in nonlinear optics and Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC).  相似文献

We show that dissipative classical dynamics converging to a strange attractor can be simulated on a quantum computer. Such quantum computations allow to investigate efficiently the small scale structure of strange attractors, yielding new information inaccessible to classical computers. This opens new possibilities for quantum simulations of various dissipative processes in nature. The paper describes a number of new scenarios for the transition to chaos through the formation and destruction of multilayered tori in non-invertible maps. By means of detailed, numerically calculated phase portraits we first describe how three- and five-layered tori arise through period-doubling and/or pitchfork bifurcations of the saddle cycle on an ordinary resonance torus. We then describe several different mechanisms for the destruction of five-layered tori in a system of two linearly coupled logistic maps. One of these scenarios involves the destruction of the two intermediate layers of the five-layered torus through the transformation of two unstable node cycles into unstable focus cycles, followed by a saddle-node bifurcation that destroys the middle layer and a pair of simultaneous homoclinic bifurcations that produce two invariant closed curves with quasiperiodic dynamics along the sides of the chaotic set. Other scenarios involve different combinations of local and global bifurcations, including bifurcations that lead to various forms of homoclinic and heteroclinic tangles. We finally demonstrate that essentially the same scenarios can be observed both for a system of nonlinearly coupled logistic maps and for a couple of two-dimensional non-invertible maps that have previously been used to study the properties of invariant sets.  相似文献

Dynamics in coupled Dufling oscillators with two coexisting symmetrical attractors is investigated. For a pair of Dufl~ng oscillators coupled linearly, the transition to the synchronization generally consists of two steps: Firstly, the two oscillators have to jump onto a same attractor, then they reach synchronization similarly to coupled monostable oscillators. The transition scenarios to the synchronization observed are strongly dependent on initial conditions.  相似文献

A new chaotic attractor is presented with only five terms in three simple differential equations having fewer terms and simpler than those of existing seven-term or six-term chaotic attractors. Basic dynamical properties of the new attractor are demonstrated in terms of equilibria, Jacobian matrices, non-generalized Lorenz systems, Lyapunov exponents, a dissipative system, a chaotic waveform in time domain, a continuous frequency spectrum, Poincaré maps, bifurcations and forming mechanisms of its compound structures.  相似文献
