It has been known for a long time that the Deligne–Lusztig curves associated to the algebraic groups of type and defined over the finite field all have the maximum number of -rational points allowed by the Weil “explicit formulas”, and that these curves are -maximal curves over infinitely many algebraic extensions of . Serre showed that an -rational curve which is -covered by an -maximal curve is also -maximal. This has posed the problem of the existence of -maximal curves other than the Deligne–Lusztig curves and their -subcovers, see for instance Garcia (On curves with many rational points over finite fields. In: Finite Fields with Applications to Coding Theory, Cryptography and Related Areas, pp. 152–163. Springer, Berlin, 2002) and Garcia and Stichtenoth (A maximal curve which is not a Galois subcover of the Hermitan curve. Bull. Braz. Math. Soc. (N.S.) 37, 139–152, 2006). In this paper, a positive answer to this problem is obtained. For every q = n 3 with n = p r  > 2, p ≥ 2 prime, we give a simple, explicit construction of an -maximal curve that is not -covered by any -maximal Deligne–Lusztig curve. Furthermore, the -automorphism group Aut has size n 3(n 3 + 1)(n 2 − 1)(n 2 − n + 1). Interestingly, has a very large -automorphism group with respect to its genus . In this paper, we establish asymptotic formulae with optimal errors for the number of rational points that are close to a planar curve, which unify and extend the results of Beresnevich–Dickinson–Velani [6] and Vaughan–Velani [22]. Furthermore, we complete the Lebesgue theory of Diophantine approximation on weakly non-degenerate planar curves that was initially developed by Beresnevich–Zorin [5] in the divergence case.  相似文献

The primary goal of this paper is to complete the theory of metric Diophantine approximation initially developed in Beresnevich et al. (2007) [10] for C3 non-degenerate planar curves. With this goal in mind, here for the first time we obtain fully explicit bounds for the number of rational points near planar curves. Further, introducing a perturbational approach we bring the smoothness condition imposed on the curves down to C1 (lowest possible). This way we broaden the notion of non-degeneracy in a natural direction and introduce a new topologically complete class of planar curves to the theory of Diophantine approximation. In summary, our findings improve and complete the main theorems of Beresnevich et al. (2007) [10] and extend the celebrated theorem of Kleinbock and Margulis (1998) [20] in dimension 2 beyond the notion of non-degeneracy.  相似文献

We prove a new regularity result for systems of nonlinear elliptic equations with quadratic Jacobian type nonlinearity in dimension two. Our proof is based on an adaptation of John Lewis’ method which has not been used for such systems so far. We continue our investigation of the distribution of the fractional parts of αγ, where α is a fixed non-zero real number and γ runs over the imaginary parts of the non-trivial zeros of the Riemann zeta function. We establish some connections to Montgomery’s pair correlation function and the distribution of primes in short intervals. We also discuss analogous results for a more general L-function. In this paper we construct elliptic curves defined over the rationals with arbitrarily large Iwasawa λ-invariants for primes p satisfying or p = 13. We use this to obtain that the p-rank of the Tate-Shafarevich group can be arbitrarily large for such primes p.  相似文献

In this paper we consider the mixed problem for the equation u tt  + A 1 uA 2(u t ) + g(u t ) = f(x, t) in unbounded domain, where A 1 is a linear elliptic operator of the fourth order and A 2 is a nonlinear elliptic operator of the second order. Under natural assumptions on the equation coefficients and f we proof existence of a solution. This result contains, as a special case, some of known before theorems of existence. Essentially, in difference up to previous results we prove theorems of existence without the additional assumption on behavior of solution at infinity.   相似文献

If h(r) = r β , βN(p − 1) − 2, we prove that the limit function u is an explicit very singular solution, while such a solution does not exist if β ≤  N(p − 1) − 2. We study the existence of solutions of control problems relative to a nonlinear elliptic system with Dirichlet boundary conditions. In this problem, the control variables are the coefficients of the equations and the open set where they are posed. It is known that this class of problems has no solution in general, but using homogenization results about elliptic systems we show the existence of solutions when the controls are searched in a bigger set. These results are related to the selection of optimal materials and shapes.  相似文献

We prove that the so-called Smoluchowski-Kramers approximation holds for a class of partial differential equations perturbed by a non-Gaussian noisy term. Namely, we show that the solution of the one-dimensional semi-linear stochastic damped wave equations , u(0) = u0, ut (0) = v0, endowed with Dirichlet boundary conditions, converges as the parameter μ goes to zero to the solution of the semi-linear stochastic heat equation , u(0) = u0, endowed with Dirichlet boundary conditions. We study the evolution driven by curvature of a given convex immersed closed plane curve. We show that it will converge to a self-similar solution eventually. We study some connections between Liouville type theorems and local properties of nonnegative solutions to conformal k-hessian equations by making use of an elementary lemma for all positive functions in Li and Zhang (J. Anal. Math. 90 (2003), 27–87) and related Liouville type theorems in Li and Li (Acta. Math. 195 (2005), 117–154).
