Phase-dependent quantum features of the light scattered by a two-level atom driven by a monochromatic laser were investigated theoretically using the method of conditional homodyne detection [Carmichael, Castro-Beltran, Foster, Orozco, Phys. Rev. Lett. 85 (2000) 1855]. The splitting of fluctuations into terms of second and third order correlations of the dipole noise is obtained analytically. For the out-of-phase quadrature and weak laser driving the former are known to be squeezed. The third order fluctuations, newly found in this paper, grow with the laser intensity, contaminate squeezing below saturation, and dominate above it. They are responsible for the non-classicality and non-Gaussianity of the fluorescence for moderate to strong driving. Conditional homodyne detection, in both time and frequency domains, illustrates more general phase-dependent effects than squeezing, and is much less restricted by finite collection and quantum detector efficiencies than standard homodyne detection schemes.  相似文献

We study quantum effects of strong driving field applied to dissipative hybrid qubit-cavity system which are relevant for a realization of quantum gates in superconducting quantum metamaterials. We demonstrate that effects of strong and non-stationary drivings have significantly quantum nature and cannot be treated by means of mean-field approximation. This is shown from a comparison of steady state solution of the standard Maxwell–Bloch equations and numerical solution of Lindblad equation on a density matrix. We show that mean-field approach provides very good agreement with the density matrix solution at not very strong drivings f < f* but at f > f* a growing value of quantum correlations between fluctuations in qubit and photon sectors changes a behavior of the system. We show that in regime of non-adiabatic switching on of the driving such a quantum correlations influence a dynamics of qubit and photons even at weak f.  相似文献

The properties of a two-level quantum dipole emitter near an ultrathin transdimensional plasmonic film are studied theoretically. The model system studied mimics a solid-state single-photon source device. Using realistic experimental parameters, the spontaneous and stimulated emission intensity profiles are computed as functions of the excitation frequency and film thickness, followed by the analysis of the second-order photon correlations to explore the photon antibunching effect. It is shown that ultrathin transdimensional plasmonic films can greatly improve photon antibunching with thickness reduction, which allows one to control the quantum properties of light and make them more pronounced. Knowledge of these features is advantageous for solid-state single-photon source device engineering and overall for the development of the new integrated quantum photonics material platform based on the transdimensional plasmonic films.  相似文献

研究了两个自发辐射路径之间的量子干涉效应对V型三能级原子压缩谱和光子反聚束效应的影响 .结果表明 ,量子干涉可以加强压缩效应和展宽出现压缩的相位角分量的范围 ,但却会减弱反聚束效应.Phase-dependent squeezing spectrum and photon antibunching of resonance fluorescence from a three-level V-type atom driven by a coherent field are investigated. We obtain new quantum inequalities for von Neumann entropy of the five-level atom, which are analogs of the subadditivity condition known for bipartite quantum systems and the strong subadditivity condition known for tripartite quantum systems. We discuss the possibility to check the inequalities for the single qudit with j = 2, which can be realized as a five-level atom in the experiments with superconducting circuits. We quantify multiparticle quantum entanglement in a system of N two-level atoms interacting with a squeezed vacuum state of the electromagnetic field. We calculate the amount of quantum entanglement present among one hundred such two-level atoms and also show the variation of that entanglement with the radiation field parameter. We show the continuous variation of the amount of quantum entanglement as we continuously increase the number of atoms from N = 2 to N = 100. We also discuss that the multiparticle correlations among the N two-level atoms are made up of all possible bipartite correlations among the N atoms.  相似文献

We study atomic center of mass motion and field dynamics of a single-atom laser consisting of a single incoherently pumped free atom moving in an optical high-Q resonator. For sufficient pumping, the system starts lasing whenever the atom is close to a field antinode. If the field mode eigenfrequency is larger than the atomic transition frequency, the generated laser light attracts the atom to the field antinode and cools its motion. Using quantum Monte Carlo wave function simulations, we investigate this coupled atom-field dynamics including photon recoil and cavity decay. In the regime of strong coupling, the generated field shows strong nonclassical features such as photon antibunching, and the atom is spatially confined and cooled to sub-Doppler temperatures.  相似文献

The statistics of photoemission events of a pair of closely spaced two-level atoms is calculated in a classical light field whose phase is changed by π after the detection of each spontaneous photon. This statistics is compared with the statistics in the case when the feedback is missing. In both cases, one can observe noticeable antibunching of photons in the range of parameters where no antibunching is observed in a single-atom system. The feedback substantially increases the antibunching. This effect manifests itself more strongly in relatively weak fields and for considerable frequency detunings.  相似文献

We propose a total measure of multi-particle quantum correlation in a system of N two-level atoms (N qubits). We construct a parameter that encompasses all possible quantum correlations among N two-level atoms in arbitrary symmetric pure states and define its numerical value to be the total measure of the net atom-atom correlations. We use that parameter to quantify the total quantum correlations in atomic Schrödinger cat states, which are generated by the dispersive interaction in a cavity. We study the variation of the net amount of quantum correlation as we vary the number of atoms from N=2 to N=100 and obtain some interesting results. We also study the variation of the net correlation, for fixed interaction time, as we increase the number of atoms in the excited state of the initial system, and notice some interesting features. We also observe the behaviour of the net quantum correlation as we continuously increase the interaction time, for the general state of N two-level atoms in a dispersive cavity.  相似文献

The interaction with a quantum mode of a high-Q cavity is considered for a two-level atom uniformly moving along the classical trajectory. The method of dressed states is employed to deduce the recursion relation for the probability of atomic transition with photon emission. It is shown that the dependence of the transition probability on the position of a moving atom in the cavity and the magnitude of this probability are qualitatively influenced by the ratio between the Doppler shift of transition frequency and the Rabi frequency of atom-field system.  相似文献

The spectral distribution of resonance fluorescence of a two-level atom in a bichromatic field is calculated in the separated lines approximation and in the quasi-energy state representation. The widths of the peaks are derived which do not coincide with the well known widths of a fluorescence triplet in a monochromatic field. For each pair of spectral lines the intesity correlation functions leading to the bunching effect are derived. Previously predicted photon antibunching effect in the atom spectral lines in the monochromatic field is absent in the case of a bichromatic field.  相似文献

We present the idea that in both classical and quantum systems all correlations available for composite multipartite systems, e.g., bipartite systems, exist as “hidden correlations” in indivisible (noncomposite) systems. The presence of correlations is expressed by entropic-information inequalities known for composite systems like the subadditivity condition. We show that the mathematically identical subadditivity condition and the mutual information nonnegativity are available as well for noncomposite systems like a single-qudit state. We demonstrate an explicit form of the subadditivity condition for a qudit with j = 2 or the five-level atom. We consider the possibility to check the subadditivity condition (entropic inequality) in experiments where such a system is realized by the superconducting circuit based on Josephson-junction devices.  相似文献

An analysis is presented of the state that arises after photons have been spontaneously emitted by a pair of spatially separated excited two-level atoms with spin-1/2 ground and excited states. Selection of possible decay scenarios conditioned on the helicities of the photons (even on the helicity of the one emitted first) makes it possible to reveal ground-state spin-projection correlations between atoms. The correlations are due to quantum interference between alternative scenarios (the atom that has emitted a particular photon cannot be identified). The correlations obtained by the chosen selection method are classical.  相似文献

We discuss the effect of damping on a quantum system specifically described by the su(1, 1) Lie algebra and interacting with a two-level atom in the presence of external classical su(1, 1) terms. We obtain the numerical solution of the associated differential equations and discuss in detail several statistical aspects, atomic inversion, squeezing phenomena, and negativity. In addition, we analyze the effect of the decay parameter and the external classical su(1, 1) terms on the population inversion and purity. Finally, we examine the entropy squeezing and the degree of entanglement for some values of the damping and detuning parameters.  相似文献

Statistics of photoemission events into the components of a triplet of resonance fluorescence of a two-level atom in a classical optical field, the phase of which changes by π upon the detection of spontaneous photon, is compared with the case when the feedback is absent. In contrast to the known problem on the statistics of resonance fluorescence of a two-level atom, a grouping of photocounts should be observed in each separate side component of the triplet. Anticorrelation of photoemission into side components is also predicted, and the type of correlations between the emission into the central component of the triplet and into any of the side ones can be controlled by varying the detuning of the radiation frequency from the resonant value.  相似文献

The photon correlation of photon emission from a single quantum dot with cw excitation and pulsed excitation is investigated in details. To calculate the second-order correlation function for optical pumping, we deduce rate equations with a simplified two-level model under cw excitation and present the master equation approach in the interaction picture to the study of evolution of a three-level system under pulsed excitation. In addition, we report photon correlation measurements on a single self-assembled In0.5Ga0.5As quantum dot, which show strong antibunching behaviour under both the conditions of cw and pulsed excitations. The calculated results are in agreement with the experimental measurements.  相似文献
