We are concerned with the notion of the degree-type (D G i )i∈ω of a graphG, whereD G i is defined to be the number of vertices inG with degreei. In the first section the following results are proven:
  1. IfG is a connected, locally finite, countably infinite graph such that there exists ani so thatD G i andD G i+1 are both finite and different from 0, thenG is reconstructible.
  2. Locally finite, countably infinite graphsG, for which infinitely manyD G i are different from 0 but only finitely manyD G i are infinite, are reconstructible.
In the second section we give some results about the reconstructibility of certain locally finite countably infinite interval graphs and show that a reconstruction of a planar, infinite graph has to be planar too.  相似文献

We consider two finitely generated graded modules over a homogeneous Noetherian ring $R = \oplus _{n \in \mathbb{N}_0 } R_n$ with a local base ring (R 0, m0) and irrelevant ideal R + of R. We study the generalized local cohomology modules H b i (M,N) with respect to the ideal b = b0 + R +, where b0 is an ideal of R 0. We prove that if dimR 0/b0 ≤ 1, then the following cases hold: for all i ≥ 0, the R-module H b i (M,N)/a0 H b i (M,N) is Artinian, where $\sqrt {\mathfrak{a}_0 + \mathfrak{b}_0 } = \mathfrak{m}_0$ ; for all i ≥ 0, the set $Ass_{R_0 } \left( {H_\mathfrak{b}^i \left( {M,N} \right)_n } \right)$ is asymptotically stable as n→?∞. Moreover, if H b i (M,N) n is a finitely generated R 0-module for all nn 0 and all j < i, where n 0 ∈ ? and i ∈ ?0, then for all nn 0, the set $Ass_{R_0 } \left( {H_\mathfrak{b}^i \left( {M,N} \right)_n } \right)$ is finite.  相似文献

The Dual Group of a Dense Subgroup   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
Throughout this abstract, G is a topological Abelian group and $\hat G$ is the space of continuous homomorphisms from G into the circle group ${\mathbb{T}}$ in the compact-open topology. A dense subgroup D of G is said to determine G if the (necessarily continuous) surjective isomorphism $\hat G \to \hat D$ given by $h \mapsto h\left| D \right.$ is a homeomorphism, and G is determined if each dense subgroup of G determines G. The principal result in this area, obtained independently by L. Außenhofer and M. J. Chasco, is the following: Every metrizable group is determined. The authors offer several related results, including these. 1. There are (many) nonmetrizable, noncompact, determined groups. 2. If the dense subgroup D i determines G i with G i compact, then $ \oplus _i D_i $ determines Πi G i. In particular, if each G i is compact then $ \oplus _i G_i $ determines Πi G i. 3. Let G be a locally bounded group and let G + denote G with its Bohr topology. Then G is determined if and only if G + is determined. 4. Let non $\left( {\mathcal{N}} \right)$ be the least cardinal κ such that some $X \subseteq {\mathbb{T}}$ of cardinality κ has positive outer measure. No compact G with $w\left( G \right) \geqslant non\left( {\mathcal{N}} \right)$ is determined; thus if $\left( {\mathcal{N}} \right) = {\mathfrak{N}}_1 $ (in particular if CH holds), an infinite compact group G is determined if and only if w(G) = ω. Question. Is there in ZFC a cardinal κ such that a compact group G is determined if and only if w(G) < κ? Is $\kappa = non\left( {\mathcal{N}} \right)?\kappa = {\mathfrak{N}}_1 ?$   相似文献

Let M = ? s n /Γ be a complete flat pseudo-Riemannian homogeneous manifold, Γ ? Iso(? s n ) its fundamental group and G the Zariski closure of Γ in Iso(? s n ). We show that the G-orbits in ? s n are affine subspaces and affinely diffeomorphic to G endowed with the (0)-connection. If the restriction of the pseudo-scalar product on ? s n to the G-orbits is nondegenerate, then M has abelian linear holonomy. If additionally G is not abelian, then G contains a certain subgroup of dimension 6. In particular, for non-abelian G, orbits with non-degenerate metric can appear only if dim G ≥ 6. Moreover, we show that ? s n is a trivial algebraic principal bundle GM → ? n?k . As a consquence, M is a trivial smooth bundle G/Γ → M → ? n?k with compact fiber G/Γ.  相似文献

Let $c=a+b\sqrt{m}$ and $\overline{c}=a-b\sqrt{m}$ , where a and b are two nonzero integers and m is a positive integer such that m is not a perfect square. We say that A c =[c ij ] is the conjugate adjacency matrix of a graph G if c ij =c for any two adjacent vertices i and j, $c_{ij}=\overline{c}$ for any two nonadjacent vertices i and j, and c ij =0 if i=j. Let P G c (λ)=|λ I?A c | denote the conjugate characteristic polynomial of G. Further, let e=e(G) and Δ=Δ(G) be the number of edges and number of triangles of G, respectively. Let G and H be two graphs of order n and let e(G)=e(H). In this work we prove that c 3(G)=c 3(H) if and only if Δ(G)=Δ(H) and $\Delta(\overline{G})=\Delta(\overline{H})$ , where $\overline{G}$ denotes the complement of G and c k is the coefficient which corresponds to λ n?k with respect to P G c (λ). Besides, we here give the conjugate spectrum and conjugate characteristic polynomial of all connected graphs of order n=2,3,4,5, with respect to the constant $c=1+\sqrt{2}$ .  相似文献

LetG be a compact group andM 1(G) be the convolution semigroup of all Borel probability measures onG with the weak topology. We consider a stationary sequence {μ n } n=?∞ +∞ of random measures μ n n (ω) inM 1(G) and the convolutions $$v_{m,n} (\omega ) = \mu _m (\omega )* \cdots *\mu _{n - 1} (\omega ), m< n$$ and $$\alpha _n^{( + k)} (\omega ) = \frac{1}{k}\sum\limits_{i = 1}^k {v_{n,n + i} (\omega ),} \alpha _n^{( - k)} (\omega ) = \frac{1}{k}\sum\limits_{i = 1}^k {v_{n - i,n} (\omega )} $$ We describe the setsA m + (ω) andA n + (ω) of all limit points ofv m,n(ω) asm→?∞ orn→+∞ and the setA (ω) of its two-sided limit points for typical realizations of {μ n (ω)} n=?∞ +∞ . Using an appropriate random ergodic theorem we study the limit random measures ρ n (±) (ω)=lim k→∞ α n k) (ω).  相似文献

We consider a class of boundary value problems of the second order difference equation $$\Delta(r_{i-1}\Delta y_{i-1})-b_{i}y_{i}+\lambda a_{i}y_{i}=0,\quad 1\le i\le n,\ y_{0}=\alpha y_{n},\ y_{n+1}=\alpha y_{1}.$$ The class of problems considered includes those with antiperiodic, Dirichlet, and periodic boundary conditions. We focus on the structure of eigenvalues of this class of problems and comparisons of all eigenvalues as the coefficients {a i } i=1 n ,{b i } i=1 n , and {r i } i=0 n change.  相似文献

A finitep-groupP is of type (m, n) ifP has nilpotency classm-1,P/P'≌Z p n ×Z p n and all the lower central factorsK i (P)/K i+1 (P) are cyclic of orderp n . Our main result on finite groups with a Sylowp-subgroup of type (m, n) is (Theorem 4.1): Let G be a finite group with a Sylow p-subgroup P of type (m, n), n≧2 p≧3, m≧(n+5)(p?1)+1. For H≦G denote \(\bar H = HO_{p'} (G)/O_{p'} (G)\) . If Op (G) is not cyclic and P'1 ≠ 1, then \(\bar P \Delta \bar G\) and \(\bar G = \bar P \cdot \bar T\) is a semidirect product of \(\bar P\) and \(\bar T\) , where \(\bar T\) is cyclic of order t, t|p-1. Here P1 is the subgroup defined in section 0. This theorem easily yields that under its assumptionsN G (P)/O P (N G (P))≌G/O P (G), it gives information on the conjugacy pattern ofp-elements ofG and gives information on the structure ofp-local subgroups ofG (Theorems 4.2, 4.3 and 4.4).  相似文献

Let K n h = (V, ( h V )) be the complete h-uniform hypergraph on vertex set V with ¦V¦ = n. Baranyai showed that K n h can be expressed as the union of edge-disjoint r-regular factors if and only if h divides rn and r divides \((_{h - 1}^{n - 1} )\) . Using a new proof technique, in this paper we prove that λK n h can be expressed as the union \(\mathcal{G}_1 \cup ... \cup \mathcal{G}_k \) of k edge-disjoint factors, where for 1≤ik, \(\mathcal{G}_i \) is r i -regular, if and only if (i) h divides r i n for 1≤ik, and (ii) \(\sum\nolimits_{i = 1}^k {r_i = \lambda (_{h - 1}^{n - 1} )} \) . Moreover, for any i (1≤ik) for which r i ≥2, this new technique allows us to guarantee that \(\mathcal{G}_i \) is connected, generalizing Baranyai’s theorem, and answering a question by Katona.  相似文献

Let G be a group, let M and N be two normal subgroups of G. We denote by Aut N M (G), the set of all automorphisms of G which centralize G/M and N. In this paper we investigate the structure of a group G in which one of the Inn(G) = Aut N M (G), Aut N M (G) ≤ Inn(G) or Inn(G) ≤ Aut N M (G) holds. We also discuss the problem: “what conditions on G is sufficient to ensure that G has a non-inner automorphism which centralizes G/M and N”.  相似文献

Let H i be a sublattice subgroup of a lattice-ordered group G i (i = 1, 2). Suppose that H 1 and H 2 are isomorphic as lattice-ordered groups, say by φ. In general, there is no lattice-ordered group in which G 1 and G 2 can be embedded (as lattice-ordered groups) so that the embeddings agree on the images of H 1 and H 1 φ . In this article we prove that the group free product of G 1 and G 2 amalgamating H 1 and H 1 φ is right orderable and so embeddable (as a group) in a lattice-orderable group. To obtain this, we use our necessary and sufficient conditions for the free product of right-ordered groups with amalgamated subgroup to be right orderable [BLUDOV, V. V.—GLASS, A. M. W.: Word problems, embeddings, and free products of right-ordered groups with amalgamated subgroup, Proc. London Math. Soc. (3) 99 (2009), 585–608]. We also provide new limiting examples to show that amalgamation can fail in the category of lattice-ordered groups even when the amalgamating sublattice subgroups are convex and normal (?-ideals) and solve of Problem 1.42 from [KOPYTOV, V. M.—MEDVEDEV, N. YA.: Ordered groups. In: Selected Problems in Algebra. Collection of Works Dedicated to the Memory of N. Ya. LetG be a lattice inR n and letS 1 ,S 2 , ... be the family of unit spheres whose centres are the lattice-points ofG. This set is called ak-fold lattice packing (k-fold lattice covering) if each point ofR n lies in at most (at least)k of the open (closed) spheresS i . Letd k n be the density of the closestk-fold lattice packing and letD k n be the density of the thinnestk-fold lattice covering ofR n . In the present paper we are considering the following problem: For which valuesn≧2 andk≧2 are the inequalitiesd k n >kd 1 n ,D k n 1 n valid?Theorem 1:For all pairs (n, k), n≧3, k≧2, with the exception of (3, k), (4, k), k=3, 5, 7, 9, 11 and (5, 3) we prove d k n >kd 1 n .Theorem 2:For each k≧3 is D k 2 1 2 . The proofs make use of the works ofBlundon, Danzer, Few andHeppes.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring with identity and I an ideal of R. It is shown that, if M is a non-zero minimax R-module such that dim Supp H I i (M) ? 1 for all i, then the R-module H I i (M) is I-cominimax for all i. In fact, H I i (M) is I-cofinite for all i ? 1. Also, we prove that for a weakly Laskerian R-module M, if R is local and t is a non-negative integer such that dim Supp H I i (M) ? 2 for all i < t, then Ext R j (R/I,H I i (M)) and Hom R (R/I,H I t (M)) are weakly Laskerian for all i < t and all j ? 0. As a consequence, the set of associated primes of H I i (M) is finite for all i ? 0, whenever dim R/I ? 2 and M is weakly Laskerian.  相似文献

Then there is a constantC r=Cr(C)>0 such that for alla i∈Ri=1,...,n $$C_r^{ - 1} \left\| {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {a_i e_i } } \right\| \leqq \left\| {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {a_i f_i } } \right\| \leqq C_r \left\| {\sum\limits_{i = 1}^n {a_i e_i } } \right\|$$ We also give a partial uniqueness of unconditional bases under more restrictive conditions.  相似文献

For set-valued random sequences (G n) n=0 N with relatively open convex values G n(ω), we prove a new test for the existence of a sequence (x n) n=0 N of selectors adapted to the filtration and admitting an equivalent martingale measure. The statement is formulated in terms of the supports of regular upper conditional distributions of G n. This is a strengthening of the main result proved in our previous paper [1], where the openness of the set G n(ω) was assumed and a possible weakening of this condition was discussed.  相似文献

Hanoi graphs H p n model the Tower of Hanoi game with p pegs and n discs. Sierpinski graphs S p n arose in investigations of universal topological spaces and have meanwhile been studied extensively. It is proved that S p n embeds as a spanning subgraph into H p n if and only if p is odd or, trivially, if n = 1.  相似文献

We consider groups Γ generated by inversions in a pair of asymptotic complex hyperplanes in complex hyperbolic spaceH ? n . We show that there exists a Γ-invariant real hypersurfaceF ?H ? n such that the Dirichlet fundamental polyhedron for Γ centered at z0 has two sides (resp. infinitely many sides) if and only ifz 0F (resp.z 0 ?F). The Dirichlet regions are determined explicitly in terms of coordinates on Γ-invariant horospheres and the geometry ofH ? n is developed in terms of these horospherical coordinates.  相似文献

Let \(\chi _0^n = \left\{ {X_t } \right\}_0^n \) be a martingale such that 0≦Xi≦1;i=0, …,n. For 0≦p≦1 denote by ? p n the set of all such martingales satisfying alsoE(X0)=p. Thevariation of a martingale χ 0 n is denoted byV 0 n and defined by \(V(\chi _0^n ) = E\left( {\sum {_{l = 0}^{n - 1} } \left| {X_{l + 1} - X_l } \right|} \right)\) . It is proved that $$\mathop {\lim }\limits_{n \to \infty } \left\{ {\mathop {Sup}\limits_{x_0^n \in \mathcal{M}_p^n } \left[ {\frac{1}{{\sqrt n }}V(\chi _0^n )} \right]} \right\} = \phi (p)$$ , where ?(p) is the well known normal density evaluated at itsp-quantile, i.e. $$\phi (p) = \frac{1}{{\sqrt {2\pi } }}\exp ( - \frac{1}{2}\chi _p^2 ) where \int_{ - \alpha }^{x_p } {\frac{1}{{\sqrt {2\pi } }}\exp ( - \frac{1}{2}\chi ^2 )} dx = p$$ . A sequence of martingales χ 0 n ,n=1,2, … is constructed so as to satisfy \(\lim _{n \to \infty } (1/\sqrt n )V(\chi _0^n ) = \phi (p)\) .  相似文献
