The existence of local (in time) solutions of the initial-boundary value problem for the following degenerate parabolic equation: ut(x,t)−Δpu(x,t)−|u|q−2u(x,t)=f(x,t), (x,t)∈Ω×(0,T), where 2?p<q<+∞, Ω is a bounded domain in RN, is given and Δp denotes the so-called p-Laplacian defined by Δpu:=∇⋅(|∇u|p−2u), with initial data u0Lr(Ω) is proved under r>N(qp)/p without imposing any smallness on u0 and f. To this end, the above problem is reduced into the Cauchy problem for an evolution equation governed by the difference of two subdifferential operators in a reflexive Banach space, and the theory of subdifferential operators and potential well method are employed to establish energy estimates. Particularly, Lr-estimates of solutions play a crucial role to construct a time-local solution and reveal the dependence of the time interval [0,T0] in which the problem admits a solution. We study the existence of singular solutions to the equation −div(|Du|p−2Du)=|u|q−1u under the form u(r,θ)=rβω(θ), r>0, θSN−1. We prove the existence of an exponent q below which no positive solutions can exist. If the dimension is 2 we use a dynamical system approach to construct solutions.  相似文献

In this paper, we comment on the recent papers by Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1] and Maleknejad et al. (2006) [7] concerning the use of the Taylor series to approximate a solution of the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind as well as a solution of a system of Fredholm equations. The technique presented in Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1] takes advantage of a rapidly decaying convolution kernel k(|st|) as |st| increases. However, it does not apply to equations having other types of kernels. We present in this paper a more general Taylor expansion method which can be applied to approximate a solution of the Fredholm equation having a smooth kernel. Also, it is shown that when the new method is applied to the Fredholm equation with a rapidly decaying kernel, it provides more accurate results than the method in Yuhe Ren et al. (1999) [1]. We also discuss an application of the new Taylor-series method to a system of Fredholm integral equations of the second kind.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the decomposition, by numerical methods, of solutions to mixed-type functional differential equations (MFDEs) into sums of “forward” solutions and “backward” solutions. We consider equations of the form x(t)=ax(t)+bx(t−1)+cx(t+1) and develop a numerical approach, using a central difference approximation, which leads to the desired decomposition and propagation of the solution. We include illustrative examples to demonstrate the success of our method, along with an indication of its current limitations.  相似文献

We present several conditions sufficient for global stability of the zero solution of nonautonomous difference equation xn+1=qxn+fn(xn,…,xnk), nZ, when the nonlinearities fn satisfy a sort of negative feedback condition. Moreover, for every kN, we indicate qk such that one of our stability conditions is sharp if q∈(0,qk]. We apply our results to discrete versions of Nicholson's blowflies equation, the Mackey-Glass equations, and the Wazewska and Lasota equation.  相似文献

We prove that the operator G, the closure of the first-order differential operator −d/dt+D(t) on L2(R,X), is Fredholm if and only if the not well-posed equation u(t)=D(t)u(t), tR, has exponential dichotomies on R+ and R and the ranges of the dichotomy projections form a Fredholm pair; moreover, the index of this pair is equal to the Fredholm index of G. Here X is a Hilbert space, D(t)=A+B(t), A is the generator of a bi-semigroup, B(⋅) is a bounded piecewise strongly continuous operator-valued function. We study a differential equation for delayed negative feedback which models a situation where the delay depends on the present state and becomes effective in the future. The main result is existence of a periodic solution in case the equilibrium is linearly unstable. The proof employs the ejective fixed point principle on a compact convex set K0C([−h,0],R) of Lipschitz continuous functions and uses that the equation generates a smooth semiflow on an infinite-dimensional submanifold of the space C1([−h,0],R).  相似文献

Given a bounded sequence of measures (μk), assume that for each k?1 there exists a solution uk of (E) with datum μk and zero boundary data. We show that if uku# in L1(Ω), then u# is a solution of (E) relative to some finite measure μ#. We call μ# the reduced limit of (μk). This reduced limit has the remarkable property that it does not depend on the boundary data, but only on (μk) and on g. For power nonlinearities g(t)=|t|q−1t, ∀tR, we show that if (μk) is nonnegative and bounded in W−2,q(Ω), then μ and μ# are absolutely continuous with respect to each other; we then produce an example where μ#≠μ.  相似文献

We prove the existence of solutions of the Cauchy problem for the doubly nonlinear evolution equation: dv(t)/dt+Vφt(u(t))∋f(t), v(t)∈Hψ(u(t)), 0<t<T, where Hψ (respectively, Vφt) denotes the subdifferential operator of a proper lower semicontinuous functional ψ (respectively, φt explicitly depending on t) from a Hilbert space H (respectively, reflexive Banach space V) into (−∞,+∞] and f is given. To do so, we suppose that V?HH?V compactly and densely, and we also assume smoothness in t, boundedness and coercivity of φt in an appropriate sense, but use neither strong monotonicity nor boundedness of Hψ. The method of our proof relies on approximation problems in H and a couple of energy inequalities. We also treat the initial-boundary value problem of a non-autonomous degenerate elliptic-parabolic problem.  相似文献

In this paper we study the large time behavior of non-negative solutions to the Cauchy problem of utumuq in RN×(0,∞), where m>1 and q=qcm+2/N is a critical exponent. For non-negative initial value u(x,0)=u0(x)∈L1(RN), we show that the solution converges, if u0(x)(1+|x|)k is bounded for some k>N, to a unique fundamental solution of utum, independent of the initial value, with additional logarithmic anomalous decay exponent in time as t→∞.  相似文献

We consider the equation −ε2Δu+u=up in ΩRN, where Ω is open, smooth and bounded, and we prove concentration of solutions along k-dimensional minimal submanifolds of ∂Ω, for N?3 and for k∈{1,…,N−2}. We impose Neumann boundary conditions, assuming 1<p<(Nk+2)/(Nk−2) and ε0+. This result settles in full generality a phenomenon previously considered only in the particular case N=3 and k=1.  相似文献

We establish the existence of pulsating type entire solutions of reaction-advection-diffusion equations with monostable nonlinearities in a periodic framework. Here the nonlinearities include the classic KPP case. The pulsating type entire solutions are defined in the whole space and for all time tR. By studying a pulsating traveling front connecting a constant unstable stationary state to a stable stationary state which is allowed to be a positive function, we proved that there exist pulsating type entire solutions behaving as two pulsating traveling fronts coming from both directions, and approaching each other. The key techniques are to characterize the asymptotic behavior of the solutions as t→− in terms of appropriate subsolutions and supersolutions.  相似文献

For fixed rN, and a suitable counting process N(t), t>0, we mainly discuss the precise asymptotic of the generalized stochastic order statistics X(N(n)−r+1,N(n),m,k). It not only makes the results of Yan, Wang and Cheng [J.G. Yan, Y.B. Wang, F.Y. Cheng, Precise asymptotics for order statistics of a non-random sample and a random sample, J. Systems Sci. Math. Sci. 26 (2) (2006) 237-244] as the special case of our result, and presents many groups of weighted functions and boundary functions, but also permits a unified approach to several models of ordered random variables.  相似文献
