Active control of the plate flexural wave transmission through the beam in a semi-infinite beam-reinforced plate is analytically investigated. The ribbed plate is modeled as a continuous system, using equations of motion to describe the plate in flexure and the beam in both flexure and torsion. The maximum transmission of the plate flexural waves through the reinforcing beam is found to occur at resonance frequencies corresponding to the optimal coupling between the plate flexural waves and the flexural and torsional waves in the beam. A single control force is applied to the beam, and a cost function is developed to attenuate the far-field flexural energy transmission. It can be observed that the transmission peaks corresponding to the flexural resonances in the beam are reduced. Similarly, the transmission peaks corresponding to the torsional resonance conditions in the beam can be attenuated using a single control moment applied to the beam. Significant attenuation of all the resonance peaks in the flexural wave transmission can also be achieved with the application of a single force and a single moment collocated on the beam. In this paper, the feasibility of attenuating the flexural wave transmission due to both the flexural and torsional resonance conditions by using a single point force and point moment collocated on the beam is demonstrated.  相似文献

We report a femtosecond time-resolved study of water at the neat water-air interface. The O-H stretch vibrational lifetime of hydrogen-bonded interfacial water is measured using surface-specific 4th-order nonlinear optical spectroscopy with femtosecond infrared pulses. The vibrational lifetime in the frequency range of 3200 to 3500 cm(-1) is found to closely resemble that of bulk water, indicating ultrafast exchange of vibrational energy between surface water molecules and those in the bulk.  相似文献

The measurement of vibrational energy flow is an important tool in understanding the vibrational behaviour of structures. In the past, because of transducer constraints, the measurement of vibrational energy flow was mostly restricted to single point measurements. However, recent developments in advanced laser measurement techniques, such as electronic speckle pattern interferometry (ESPI), have gained interest in applying two-dimensional, multi-point measurement techniques to the estimation of vibrational energy flow. This paper addresses the measurement of vibrational energy flow in a plate by using an ESPI based vibrational energy flow measurement technique. A radially symmetric bending wave plate vibration model is introduced and theoretical expressions for energy-based quantities are derived. To assess the accuracy of the measurement method, these theoretical quantities are compared to synthetic results derived from the ESPI energy flow measurement technique. The ESPI measurement technique is also applied to an experimental ‘infinite’ plate. Thus, a specially designed experimental apparatus was constructed so as to minimise undesired wave reflections in the plate and, thus, achieve a high energy flow boundary crossing at the edges of the plate. To reduce the effect of optical noise contamination on the ESPI measured out-of-plane plate displacement data, optimal filters were applied prior to the vibrational energy flow computation. To appraise the accuracy of the experimental method, measured vibrational power on the plate is compared with measured vibrational input power. A difference of less than 1 dB between both quantities indicates that vibrational energy flow within a rectangular plate that contains radially symmetric wave propagation can be measured to a good degree of accuracy if appropriate filtering is applied.  相似文献

The potential energy surface of the methane molecule in the ground electronic state is ab initio constructed. The CCSD(T) method with the cc-pVQZ basis set is used to calculate the potential energy at 18982 points. The obtained set of points makes it possible to determine the force field up to the tenth order. The modified Gray-Robiette coordinates were used for the construction of the analytical form of the surface. Vibrational energy levels for 12CH4 were calculated up to 6200 cm?1. Calculations performed are compared with experiment and other calculations.  相似文献

An analysis of the interaction of a pulse of Rayleigh waves on a plate with a rectangular flange or rib attached in the far field of its acoustic emission (AE) source is presented. A finite difference (FD) model is used to give numerical visualizations of the development of the complete wave-field propagating through the structure and also to give displacement data for selected points. An ‘energy partition model’, for Rayleigh wave propagation across the rib has been developed and is described. Ray theory wave arrival time calculations are given for the propagation of various mode-converted components transmitted across the flange. A series of experimental measurements of AE wave propagation across a T-butt welded rib on a plate were made and these are compared with the model predictions. The practical implications of these findings for acoustic emission monitoring of large structures of complex shape are discussed.  相似文献

In a recent paper Beck and Mackey [C. Beck, M.C. Mackey, astro-ph/0603397] argue that the argument we gave in our paper [Ph. Jetzer, N. Straumann, Phys. Lett. B 606 (2005) 77, astro-ph/0411034] to disprove their claim that dark energy can be discovered in the Lab through noise measurements of Josephson junctions is incorrect. In particular, they emphasize that the measured noise spectrum in Josephson junctions is a consequence of the fluctuation dissipation theorem, while our argument was based on equilibrium statistical mechanics. In this note we show that the fluctuation dissipation relation does not depend upon any shift of vacuum (zero-point) energies, and therefore, as already concluded in our previous paper, dark energy has nothing to do with the proposed measurements.  相似文献

With short duration impulsive signals used to provide the excitation the vibration level difference across a T-junction of Perspex plates has been measured both as a function of frequency and angle of incidence. Problems associated with high velocity waves and relatively short path differences have been reduced or eliminated by suitable choice of material and geometry, and by use of spatial as well as temporal averaging. Problems associated with the dispersive nature of bending waves have been reduced by use of low pass filtering. Results are presented for point source excitation and comparison is made with plane wave excitation theory. In addition, plane wave excitation has been simulated by means of line averages of the plate response to a point source and these results are also presented and compared with the theoretical ones.  相似文献

A recent paper has shown that under certain conditions the cross-spectral matrix of the forces exerted by a vibrational or acoustic wave field on its surrounding boundaries can be expressed in terms of (i) the energy of the wave field, and (ii) the direct field dynamic stiffness matrix of the boundary. This "diffuse field reciprocity relation" was derived using wave mechanics, and it is not immediately clear how the required wave field properties translate to conditions on the vibrational modes of the system or the applied forcing. This issue is addressed here by deriving an extended version of the reciprocity relation using modal methods, and the conditions required for the extended version to reduce to the existing relation are delineated. It is shown that the existing diffuse field reciprocity relation leads to an anomalous result when used to predict the energy variance of a subsystem, and that this anomaly is resolved by using the present extended version of the relation. A supplementary result arising from the analysis is that for systems with a sufficient degree of randomness the ensemble average of the dynamic stiffness matrix of a random subsystem is equal to the inverse of the ensemble average of the receptance matrix.  相似文献

脉冲激光激发Rb原子至6 D态,Rb(6 D)与H2反应生成RbH(Х1Σ+,ν″=0~2)振动态。研究了RbH(Х1Σ+)高位振动态与H2,N2间的碰撞弛豫过程,利用泛频泵浦分别激发Х1Σ+(ν″=0)至Х1Σ+(ν″=15~22)各振动态,检测激光激发Х1Σ+(ν″)至A1Σ+(ν′),测量A1Σ+(ν′)的时间分辨激光感应荧光光谱,利用Stern-Volmer方程,得到振动能级ν″的总的弛豫速率系数kν(H2)。在H2和N2的混合气体中,总弛豫速率系数kν(H2+N2)与α(H2的摩尔配比)成直线的关系,其斜率为kν(H2)-kν(N2),而截距为kν(N2)。对于ν″<18主要发生单量子弛豫(Δν=1)过程,kν(H2)和kν(N2)与振动量子数ν″均成线性增加关系。对于ν″≥18,多量子弛豫(Δν≥2)过程及共振振动-振动转移起重要作用。对于RbH(ν″=21)+N2(0),测量ν″=16的布居数时间演化轮廓,在20μs内有一个锐锋,在100~200μs内有一个较低的宽峰,锐锋相应于RbH(ν″=21)+N2(0)→RbH(ν″=16)+N2(1)的共振转移过程,而宽峰是由相继的单量子过程产生的。  相似文献

Electron beam induced current (EBIC) at p–n junctions can be measured in high spatial resolution using a thin lamella geometry, where most incident electrons transmit the sample. We explore the case of low excitation energies in a wedge‐shaped lamella geometry to increase resolution in a controlled way. We compare a sample with high (Si) and low (manganite‐titanate heterojunction) diffusion length and use Monte Carlo based simulations as a reference. It is shown that the EBIC signal obtained from the Si junction vanishes below a thickness of 300 nm, whereas this happens at 80 nm in the PCMO–STNO junction. This allows for achieving an EBIC resolution of better than 50 nm for the latter system. The observed fundamental differences between the silicon and the perovskite junction are discussed in terms of preparation induced ‘dead’ layers and surface recombination.  相似文献

Two semi-infinite dissimilar crystals with, however, the same crystal structure and lattice parameter are in contact at a planar interface. Using a simple force constant model, restricted to near-neighbour interaction reflection and transmission coefficients for sound waves propagating along one solid are calculated. At low frequencies the reflection and transmission coefficients are determined solely by the force constants and the atomic masses in the two media. At high frequencies the transmission coefficient becomes small if the force constant at the interface between the two media is weak. Information of the local force constant in the interface region can be gained at least in principle, by measuring the reflection and transmission coefficients at high frequencies.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the influence of a finite cavity backing a finite panel on the transmission of sound through the panel and on the vibration of the panel. Such phenomena as negative transmission loss, combined panel and cavity resonance, coincidence and cavity resonance are readily identified from the final expressions. A graphical technique, first used in a one-dimensional study of this case, is shown to be applicable in the three dimensional case to predict frequencies of interest. The theoretical analysis is compared with experimental results and with the predictions of other workers.  相似文献

We find the exact Casimir force between a plate and a cylinder, a geometry intermediate between parallel plates, where the force is known exactly, and the plate sphere, where it is known at large separations. The force has an unexpectedly weak decay approximately L/[H3 ln(H/R)] at large plate-cylinder separations H (L and R are the cylinder length and radius), due to transverse magnetic modes. Path integral quantization with a partial wave expansion additionally gives a qualitative difference for the density of states of electric and magnetic modes, and corrections at finite temperatures.  相似文献
