D∞-APPROXIMATION OF PRODUCT VARIATIONS OF TWO PARAMETER SMOOTH SEMIMARTINGALES

Let X be a two parameter smooth semimartingale and X~ be its process ofthe product variation. It is proved that X~ can be approximated as D∞-limit of sums ofits discrete product variations as the mesh of division tends to zero. Moreover, this resultcan be strengthen to yield the quasi sure convergence of sums by estimating the speed ofthe convergence.

The dynamic behavior of deterministic and stochastic delayed SIQS model

In this paper, we present the deterministic and stochastic delayed SIQS epidemic models. For the deterministic model, the basic reproductive number $R_{0}$ is given. Moreover, when $R_{0}<1$, the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotical stable. When $R_{0}>1$ and additional conditions hold, the endemic equilibrium is globally asymptotical stable. For the stochastic model, a sharp threshold $\overset{\wedge }{R}_{0}$ which determines the extinction or persistence in the mean of the disease is presented. Sufficient conditions for extinction and persistence in the mean of the epidemic are established. Numerical simulations are also conducted in the analytic results.

A remark on irregularity of the -Neumann problem on non-smooth domains

It is an observation due to J. J. Kohn that for a smooth bounded pseudoconvex domain in there exists such that the -Neumann operator on maps (the space of -forms with coefficient functions in -Sobolev space of order ) into itself continuously. We show that this conclusion does not hold without the smoothness assumption by constructing a bounded pseudoconvex domain in , smooth except at one point, whose -Neumann operator is not bounded on for any .

     

On the wave-front set of traces of CR functions on maximally real submanifolds

We prove that, in a locally integrable structure, the wave-front set of the trace of a CR function at a point in a totally real submanifold of maximal dimension is independent of the maximally real submanifold passing through the point .

     

-summand vectors in Banach spaces

The aim of this paper is to study the set of all -summand vectors of a real Banach space . We provide a characterization of -summand vectors in smooth real Banach spaces and a general decomposition theorem which shows that every real Banach space can be decomposed as an -sum of a Hilbert space and a Banach space without nontrivial -summand vectors. As a consequence, we generalize some results and we obtain intrinsic characterizations of real Hilbert spaces.

     

Isometric copies of and in Orlicz spaces equipped with the Orlicz norm

Criteria in order that an Orlicz space equipped with the Orlicz norm contains a linearly isometric copy (or an order linearly isometric copy) of (or ) are given.

     

On unitary representability of topological groups

We prove that the additive group (E*, τ _k (E)) of an -Banach space E, with the topology τ _k (E) of uniform convergence on compact subsets of E, is topologically isomorphic to a subgroup of the unitary group of some Hilbert space (is unitarily representable). This is the same as proving that the topological group (E*, τ _k (E)) is uniformly homeomorphic to a subset of for some κ. As an immediate consequence, preduals of commutative von Neumann algebras or duals of commutative C*-algebras are unitarily representable in the topology of uniform convergence on compact subsets. The unitary representability of free locally convex spaces (and thus of free Abelian topological groups) on compact spaces, follows as well.
