The [3.2.0]bicyclic beta-nucleoside analogue 5 has been designed as a conformationally restricted analogue of the anti-HIV drug AZT. The synthesis of 5 as well as its alpha-anomer 29 is hereby described. The synthesis was accomplished from D-arabinose via a modified Corey-Link procedure stereoselectively incorporating the azide moiety as well as a methyl ester function. When the tert-butyldiphenylsilyl group was used as a permanent protecting group, a selective formation of an oxetane ring failed. When using the p-methoxyphenyl group as a permanent protecting group, 5 and 29 were efficiently obtained via a selective reduction of the ester, a nucleobase coupling followed by separation of the anomers and ring-closing procedures. The nucleoside 5 is conformationally restricted in an unusual O4'-endo (East) conformation, which is an intermediate between the North- and South-type conformations. Nevertheless, neither 5 nor 29 displayed any anti-HIV activity.  相似文献

Catalyst loading as low as 0.1 mol % was achieved in the enantioselective Strecker reaction of ketoimines. Excellent enantioselectivity was obtained with a combined use of a catalytic amount of TMSCN and a stoichiometric amount of HCN as a reagent, and a chiral gadolinium complex as a catalyst.  相似文献

This paper reports a novel approach for developing a microfluidic electrochromatographic chip device using patterned vertically aligned carbon nanotubes as the stationary phase material. Patterned growth of nanotubes in a specific location of the channel is carried out using a solid phase Fe–Al catalyst as well as a vapor deposited ferrocene catalyst. Proof-of-concept applications are demonstrated using reversed phase capillary electrochromatographic separations as well as solid phase extraction of a glycosylated protein using concanavalin A immobilized onto the nanotube bed.  相似文献

Proficiency testing involves the performance of test procedures on routine samples by a number of laboratories. Interlaboratory proficiency testings provide multiple benefits to participants since they play a key-role in the total quality control of laboratory activities. They serve as a means of self-improving, as a mechanism of continuing education and as a source of information for accreditation agencies. Oil is a prominent, but multifaceted material class with a wide variety of applications. Technical oils, crude oils as well as edibles are main subclasses. In this review, the question is addressed how low-field NMR can contribute in oil characterization as an analytical tool, mainly with respect to quality control. Prerequisite in the development of a quality control application, however, is a detailed understanding of the oils and of the measurement. Low-field NMR is known as a rich methodical toolbox that was and is explored and further developed to address questions about oils, their quality, and usability as raw materials, during production and formulation as well as in use.  相似文献

Enzyme-based biocatalysis is emerging as an advanced technique to develop green processes that help to maintain the sustainability of the environment. The bioremediation of toxic organic pollutants and waste to bioenergy production using enzymes as biocatalysts is rapidly growing due to its eco-friendly and sustainable nature. Additionally, a range of microbial species that typically grow on organic wastes can be used to produce these enzymes in an efficient manner. This is seen as a potential strategy for the development of cost-effective manufacturing for a number of biotechnological applications. The present study discusses biocatalysis as a promising and sustainable method toward the bioremediation of hazardous organic pollutants as well as for bioenergy production, based on the immense potential of enzymes as biocatalysts. Emphasis has been placed on evaluating the critical elements that can enhance the production of enzymes used as biocatalysts, as well as their functional effectiveness and stability.  相似文献

In this work, we show a new technique to measure the direction and amplitude of the electric field generated by microelectrodes in a liquid environment, as often used in microfluidic devices. The method is based on the use of optical tweezers as a force transducer. A trapped, charged particle behaves as a probe. With this technique, it is possible to obtain a detailed map of the electric field, even for very complex electrode structures with a resolution below a micrometre and with a sensitivity as low as a few hundreds of V m(-1).  相似文献

We have synthesized a series of four new promising D-π-A conjugated organic sensitizers with a proaromatic 4H-pyran-4-ylidene as a donor, a thiophene ring in the bridge, and 2-cyanoacrilic acid as acceptor. Comparison between different donor substituents and the modification of the thiophene ring resulted in molar extinction coefficients as high as 36399 M(-1) cm(-1) at 551 nm. The photovoltaic properties of the DSSCs demonstrate power conversion efficiencies as high as 5.4%.  相似文献

An essential feature in the life cycle of both gram positive and gram negative bacteria is the production of new cell wall. Also known as murein, the cell wall is a two-dimensional polymer, consisting of a linear, repeating N-acetylmuramic acid (MurNAc) and N-acetylglucosamine (GlcNAc) motif, cross-linked via peptides appended to MurNAc. The final steps in the maturation of murein are catalyzed by a single, bifunctional enzyme, known as a high MW, class A penicillin binding protein (PBP). PBPs catalyze polymerization of the sugar units (glycosyltransfer), as well as peptide cross-linking (transpeptidation) utilizing Lipid II as substrate. Detailed enzymology on this enzyme has been limited, due to difficulties in obtaining sufficient amounts of Lipid II, as well as the availability of a convenient and informative assay. We report the total chemical synthesis of Lipid II, as well as the development of an appropriate assay system and the observation of both catalytic transformations.  相似文献

The formation of a dense monolayer of histidine-tagged recombinant laccase on gold electrodes by using a short thiol-NTA linker is described, as well as a kinetic analysis of the process by cyclic voltammetry. From a detailed analysis of the catalytic reduction of dioxygen by laccase in the presence of a one-electron redox mediator it can be concluded that the immobilized enzyme remains as active as in homogeneous solution.  相似文献

Phosphorescent copper(I) complexes carrying 2,2'-bipyridyl derivatives and phosphine ligands have been prepared and fully characterised. The role of the bipyridyl as well as the phosphine ligands in defining the optical, as well as the chemical properties of the complexes, are discussed. The light emission of these complexes is investigated as a function of the molecular geometry: rigid complexes with restricted freedom to rearrange in the excited state are found to show a quantum yield of phosphorescence one order of magnitude higher than those complexes with no steric constraint. The complexes have been extruded in a polymer matrix as a proof of principle of their processability.  相似文献

A poly(vinyl chloride)-based membrane composed of dithio-tetraaza macrocyclic compound as a neutral carrier with sodium tetraphenylborate (NaTPB) as an anion excluder and nitrobenzene (NB) as plasticizer was prepared and investigated as a Th(IV)-selective electrode. The electrode exhibits a Nernstian slope of 14.2 +/- 0.3 mV per decade over a wide concentration range (1.0 x 10(-6) to 1.0 x 10(-1) M) with a detection limit of 8.0 x 10(-7) M between pH 3.5 and 9.5. The response time of the sensor is about 10 s and it can be used over a period of 5 months without any divergence in potential. The proposed membrane sensor revealed a good selectivity for Th(IV) over a wide variety of other metal ions and proved to be a better electrode in many respects than those reported in the literature. It was successfully applied as an electrode indicator as well as in the direct determination of thorium ions in standard and real samples.  相似文献

Silica as reinforcing filler brings about a low hysteresis in elastomeric compounds. Aim of this work was to promote a better silica-elastomer interaction by using, as minor ingredients of a compound, isoprene oligomers having a functional group as the chain end. The effect of the functionality was investigated by analysing the complex viscosity of silica-oligomers binary mixtures as well as the morphological and rheological properties of masterbatches and compounds based on isoprene rubbers. A better silica dispersion and a lower Payne effect were clearly observed in the presence of functionalized oligomers.  相似文献

We investigate the nonequilibrium fluid structure mediated forces between two colloids driven through a suspension of mutually noninteracting Brownian particles as well as between a colloid and a wall in stationary situations. We solve the Smoluchowski equation in bispherical coordinates as well as with a method of reflections, both in linear approximation for small velocities and numerically for intermediate velocities, and we compare the results to a superposition approximation considered previously. In particular, we find an enhancement of the friction (compared to the friction on an isolated particle) for two colloids driven side by side as well as for a colloid traveling along a wall. The friction on tailgating colloids is reduced. Colloids traveling side-by-side experience a solute induced repulsion while tailgating colloids are attracted to each other.  相似文献

In this article, the use of date stones (thrown as a waste material) as adsorbent for the removal of a variety of adsorbates in aqueous and gaseous streams have been reviewed. Adsorption plays a role in the wastewater treatment as a polishing process, especially on activated carbon at tertiary treatments. In this review, the preparation and characterization technique along with the applications of the date stones as adsorbent has been presented in detail. A comprehensive study and the comparison of the available data in literature reveal that the date stones can be used as a potential adsorbent for a wide variety of toxic contaminants such as dyes, heavy metals, insecticides, etc.  相似文献

[reaction: see text]. We present here a methodology for the Suzuki coupling of aryl chlorides with phenylboronic acid using Pd/C as a catalyst, water as a solvent, and microwave heating. We show that simultaneous cooling in conjunction with microwave heating prolongs the lifetime of the aryl chloride substrates during the course of the reaction and, as a result, yields of the desired biaryl as well as overall recovery of material can be increased.  相似文献

Electrochemical formation of poly(phenylmethylsilane) in a divided cell containing a Teflon® neutral membrane was studied. The electrolysis of dichlorosilanes was carried out in a solution containing tetrahydrofuran + hexamethylphosphoramide as the solvent, tetrabutylammonium perchlorate as the support electrolyte and stainless steel as the cathode, with Pt and graphite as the resistant anodes or stainless steel as the sacrificial anode. Polysilanes with a number-average molecular weight in the range from 2,600 to 130,000 g/mol were obtained, depending on the conditions used.  相似文献

Eigenvectors of a Hamiltonian solvable by a Bethe ansatz (BA) are employed as a variational trial wavefunction for electrons. Energy expressions are developed showcasing the methods of BA. Numerical results are presented for atomic systems as well as molecular dissociations, which are numerically identical with the restricted Hartree-Fock (HF) results. The present contribution serves as a bridge between HF and other BA wavefunctions to be employed as mean-field methods for strongly correlated electrons.  相似文献

Photopolymerization of cyclohexene oxide in the presence of electron acceptors was studied in a bulk system (in liquid as well as in solid states). The polymerization was proved to proceed by a cationic mechanism in both states by the effect of inhibitors. In a liquid phase the light intensity dependence of the rate of polymerization and the molecular weight distribution showed a contribution of a free ionic polymerization. Any discontinuous phenomenon in the rate as well as in the molecular weight was not discerned between liquid(above ?36°C) and plastic crystal (between ?36 and ?81°C) phases. A quantum yield of monomer consumption as high as 8 × 103 was observed in the plastic crystal phase. Below ?81°C in the normal crystal phase the rate as well as the molecular weight was remarkably suppressed.  相似文献
