The theory of loop induced rare B decays is reviewed. Both electromagnetic penguin processes and gluon mediated penguin processes are discussed. After consideringb→sy andb→se + e ? decays, purely hadronic modes likeB→K? are estimated. Constraints on the Higgs sector of SUSY theory fromb→sy is discussed. CP violation in charged B Decays is reviewed. 相似文献

The semileptonic decays of the B c meson into heavy quarkonia J/ψ(ηc) and a pair of leptons are investigated on the basis of three-point sum rules of QCD and nonrelativistic QCD (NRQCD). Calculations of analytic expressions for the spectral densities of QCD and NRQCD correlation functions with allowance for Coulomb-like αs/v terms are presented. At recoil momenta close to zero, generalized relations due to the spin symmetry of NRQCD are derived for the B c → J/ψ(ηc)/νl form factors, with l denoting one of the leptons (e, μ, or τ). This allows one to express all NRQCD form factors in terms of a single universal quantity, an analog of the Isgur-Wise function at the maximal lepton-pair invariant mass. The gluon-condensate corrections to three-point functions are calculated both in full QCD in the Borel transform scheme and in NRQCD in the moment scheme. This enlarges the parametric-stability region of the sum-rule method, thereby rendering the results of the approach more reliable. Numerical estimates of the widths for the transitions B c → J/ψ(ηc)lνl are presented. 相似文献

Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e− storage ring DORIS II, we have observed charmless decays of B mesons into the final states pp̄π± and pp̄π+π−. The significance of the signal corresponds to more than five standard deviations. The branching ratios are (5.2±1.4±1.9)×10−4 for the three-body and (6.0±2.0±2.2)×10−4 for the four-body final state. These decays cannot proceed via the dominant b→c transitions, and we show that they are not the result of penguin-type processes. Thus, the observed decays must represent b→u quark transitions. Consequently, the Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vub is non-zero. 相似文献

We have studied exclusive, radiative B meson decays to charmless mesons in 9.7x10(6) B&Bmacr; decays accumulated with the CLEO detector. We measure B(B0-->K(*0)(892)gamma) = (4.55(+0.72)(-0. 68)+/-0.34)x10(-5) and B(B+-->K(*+)(892)gamma) = (3.76(+0.89)(-0. 83)+/-0.28)x10(-5). We have searched for CP asymmetry in B-->K(*)(892)gamma decays and measure A(CP) = +0.08+/-0.13+/-0.03. We report the first observation of B-->K(*)(2)(1430)gamma decays with a branching fraction of (1.66(+0.59)(-0.53)+/-0.13)x10(-5). No evidence for the decays B-->rhogamma and B0-->omegagamma is found and we limit B(B-->(rho/omega)gamma)/B(B-->K(*)(892)gamma)<0.32 at 90% C.L. 相似文献

In this talk, we point out some of the present and future possible signatures of physics beyond the Standard Model from B-meson decays, taking R-parity conserving and violating supersymmetry as illustrative examples. An expanded version is available on hep-ph archive. 相似文献

We study B meson decays to two charmless baryons in the diquark model, including strong and electroweak penguins as well as the tree
operators. It is shown that penguin operators can enhance considerably, but affect only slightly, where and are non-strange and strange baryons, respectively. The dependence of the decay rates due to tree–penguin interference is illustrated. In principle, some of the modes could dominate over for , but in general the effect is milder than their mesonic counterparts. This is because the operator can only produce vector but not scalar diquarks, while the opposite is true for and . Predictions from the diquark model are compared to those from the sum rule calculation. The decays and inclusive baryonic decays are also discussed.

A model in which CP is spontaneously broken is described; it solves the strong CP problem and provides an additional mechanism for weak CP violation. This is the aspon model. Application to B decays leads to predictions for CP asymmetries much smaller than expected from the KM mechanism of explicit CP breaking. 相似文献

We report a study of the B meson decays, B+ --> J/psiphiK+, B0 --> J/psiphiK(0)(S), B0 --> J/psiphi, B0 --> J/psieta, and B0 --> J/psieta' using 56 x 10(6) B(-)B events collected at the Upsilon(4S) resonance with the BABAR detector at the PEP-II e(+)e(-) asymmetric-energy storage ring. We measure the branching fractions B(B+ --> J/psiphiK+)=(4.4+/-1.4(stat)+/-0.5(syst))x 10(-5) and B(B0 --> J/psiphiK(0)(S))=(5.1+/-1.9(stat)+/-0.5(syst))x 10(-5), and set upper limits at 90% confidence level for the branching fractions B(B0 --> J/psiphi)<9.2 x 10(-6), B(B0 --> J/psieta)<2.7 x 10(-5), and B(B0 --> J/psieta')<6.3 x 10(-5). 相似文献

The BABAR experiment has now completed data taking and with an integrated luminosity of 531 fb-1 of e+e-collision data has recorded some 480 million tau-pair events.Various studies of suppressed,rare and forbidden decays of the tau have been conducted,including searches for high-multiplicity decays,for second-class hadronic weak currents,and for lepton-flavour violation. 相似文献

The decay constant g B* of the B* mesons and the transition amplitudes of the radiative decays $B_{a}^{?t}?ghtarrow B_{a}αmma$are calculated in the frame-work of QCD sum rules. It is shown that the decay rates B* → Bγ are one order smaller than the corresponding D* meson decays. 相似文献
