The triangular cluster [Mo3Se4(H2O)9]4+ reacts with Cu turnings to give a new heterometallic cuboidal cluster [Mo3CuSe4(H2O)10]4+(purple; UV/Vis lambda(epsilon): 352(3907), 509(2613)). The reaction of [Mo3Se4(H2O)9]4+ with CuCl afforded the 5+ cube [Mo3CuSe4(H2O)10]5+(red; UV/Vis lambda(epsilon): 356(5406), 500(3477)). In contrast, [W3Se4(H2O)9]4+ both with Cu and CuCl gives the 5+ cube, [W3CuSe4(H2O)10]5+(yellow-green; UV/Vis lambda(epsilon): 312(5327), 419(3256) and 628(680)). Cyclic voltammetry of [M3CuQ4(H2O)10]5+ in 2 M HCl (M = Mo, W; Q = S, Se) shows a reversible one-electron reduction wave for the Mo clusters, but no reduction occurs for the W clusters prior to H+ reduction. In HCl solutions, Cl is coordinated to the Cu site of the clusters, alongside some less extensive coordination to Mo and W, and for [W3(CuCl)S4(H2O)6Cl3]+, isolated as the supramolecular adduct with cucurbit[6]uril, [W3(CuCl)S4(H2O)6Cl3]2Cl2 x C36H36N24O12 x 12H2O, the crystal structure was determined (Cu-W 2.856(4) angstroms, W-W 2.7432(15) angstroms, Cu-Cl 2.167(13) angstroms).  相似文献

New Ni-containing heterometallic cuboidal cluster aqua complex [W3(NiCl)Se4(H2O)9]3+, the missing link in the family of the M3NiQ4 clusters (M = Mo, W; Q = S, Se), has been prepared by the reaction of [W3Se4(H2O)9]4+ with Ni in 2 M HCl. Single crystals of edge-linked double-cuboidal cluster [{W3NiSe4(H2O)9}2](pts)8.18H2O (pts = p-toluenesulfonate) were grown from the solution of the aqua complex in 3 M Hpts, and their structures were determined. The Ni site in the clusters [W3(NiCl)Q4(H2O)9]3+ selectively coordinates typical pi-acceptor ligands such as CO, olefins, acetylenes, phosphines, arsines, or SnCl3-. This allows stabilization by coordination of such elusive species as HP(OH)2 and As(OH)3. The stability constants for coordination of HP(OH)2, As(OH)3, and SnCl3- were determined. The Se for S substitution increases the stability by 1-2 orders of magnitude. Supramolecular adducts with cucurbit[6]uril (Cuc), [W3(Ni(HP(OH)2))Q4(H2O)9]Cl4.Cuc.11H2O and [W3(NiAs(OH)3)S4(H2O)8Cl]Cl3.Cuc.13H2O, were isolated and structurally characterized.  相似文献

Heterometallic atoms can be incorporated into the Mo 3 IV trinuclear ion [Mo3S4(H2O)9]4+ to give cuboidal complexes of the kind Mo3MS4, or related edge-linked species {Mo3MS4}2, or corner-shared Mo3S4MS4Mo3 double cubes, depending on the heteroatom used. All of the products formed can be obtained as aqua ions. With four recent additions there are now 15 different heterometal atoms participating in this chemistry from Cr in Group 6 to Bi in Group 15. Preparative procedures, X-ray crystal structures, and distinctive properties including UV-Vis spectra, elution characteristics using Dowexcation exchange chromatography, ICP metal analyses, and the stoichiometries of reactions in which the heterometallic product is oxidized back to [Mo3S4(H2O)9]4+ (with release of the heterometal in an ionic form) are considered.Dedicated to Professor Jiaxi Lu on the occasion of his 80th birthday.  相似文献

The cross sections for electron scattering on OH-(H2O)n for n = 0-4 were measured from threshold to approximately 50 eV. All detachment cross sections were found to follow the classical prediction given earlier [Phys. Rev. Lett. 74, 892 (1995)] with a threshold energy for electron-impact detachment that increased upon sequential hydration, yielding values in the range from 4.5 eV +/- 0.2 eV for OH- to 12.10 eV +/- 0.5 eV for OH-(H2O)4. For n > or = 1, we found that approximately 80% of the total reaction events lead to electron detachment plus total dissociation of the clusters into the constituent molecules of OH and H2O. Finally, we observed resonances in the cross sections for OH-(H2O)3 and for OH-(H2O)4. The resonances were located at approximately 15 eV and were ascribed to the formation of dianions in excited states.  相似文献

选用B3LYP方法在LanL2MB水平下,对双帽α-Keggin型杂多阴离子[H4As3Mo12O40]-的电子结构和质子的定位进行了密度泛函理论(DFT)研究.结果表明,双帽的形成大大影响了杂多阴离子[As3Mo12O40]5-的电子结构和性质,NBO分析显示参与成帽的三桥氧上的电子密度比双桥氧上的要大,简单地从电荷密度来看,质子将首先在三桥氧上定域成键,但通过比较质子定域在几种桥氧上质子化稳定化能的大小,发现[H4As3Mo12O40]-中的四个质子将在八个双桥氧中的其中四个氧原子上定位,而不是如文献中报道的在四个三桥氧上定域成键.对杂多酸H3PM12O40(M=Mo,W)中质子的定位也进行了理论计算并与文献进行了比较,结果显示,H3PMo12O40中质子是定位在双桥氧上;而H3PW12O40中质子将优先在双桥氧上定位,但也可在端氧上定位;这一结果与文献报道的相一致.  相似文献

The [3 + 1] reaction of [W(3)S(4)(H(2)O)(9)](4+) with [W(CO)(6)] in 2 M HCl under hydrothermal conditions (130 degrees C) gives the [W(4)S(4)(H(2)O)(12)](6+) cuboidal cluster, reduction potential 35 mV vs NHE (6+/5+ couple). The reduced form is obtained by controlled potential electrolysis. X-ray crystal structure was determined for (Me(2)NH(2))(6)[W(4)S(4)(NCS)(12)].0.5H(2)O. The W-W and W-S bond lengths are 2.840 and 2.379 A, respectively.  相似文献

The pH-dependent self-condensation of the [Mo 2 S 2 O 2 ] 2+ complex fragment gives the wheellike Mo12 cluster depicted on the right (ball-and-stick model; large balls: S, medium balls: O, small balls: Mo). Applying this synthetic strategy to other starting materials could provide access to other polyoxothiometalates with well-defined cavities.  相似文献

Two novel Mn12 derivatives [Mn12O12(O2CC[triple bond]CH)16(H2O)4] x 3H2O (1) and [Mn12(O2CC[triple bond]CC6H5)16(H2O)4] x 3H2O (2) have been prepared and characterized. Magnetic measurements confirm that both function as single-molecule magnets (SMM), showing frequency-dependent out-of-phase AC susceptibility signals and magnetization hysteresis curves. Thermal stability studies of both complexes were first conducted in the solid state. While complex 1 undergoes a sudden exothermal decomposition at T(onset) = 118 degrees C, complex 2 exhibits a higher stability. Thermolysis reaction of 1 was hence assessed in solution to yield dark red crystals of a two-dimensional Mn(II)-based co-ordination polymer [Mn3(O2CC[triple bond]CH)6(H2O)4] x 2H2O (3), which corresponds to an extended sheet-like structure that crystallizes in the monoclinic space group P2(1)/n; a = 9.2800(2) angstroms, b = 9.4132(2) angstroms, c = 14.9675(3) angstroms, beta = 99.630(1) degrees, and Z = 2. Finally, the magnetic properties of complex 3 have been studied on an oriented single crystal over two different orientations of the reciprocal vector versus the external field.  相似文献

In this work we examine a structural transition from non-planar three-dimensional structures to planar benzene-like structures in the C(x)H(x)P(6-x) (x = 0-6) series. The global minima of P(6), CHP(5), and C(2)H(2)P(4) species are benzvalene-like structures. The benzvalene and benzene-like structures of C(3)H(3)P(3) are close in energy with the former being slightly more stable at our best level of theory. The transition occurs at x = 4 (C(4)H(4)P(2)), where the benzene-like structures become significantly more stable than the benzvalene-like structures. We show that the pseudo Jahn-Teller effect, which is responsible for the deformation of planar P(6), CHP(5), and C(2)H(2)P(4) structures, is completely suppressed at x = 3 (benzene-like structures of C(3)H(3)P(3)). We present NICS(zz) values of all the benzene-like isomers in the series.  相似文献

用热分析、程序升温超高真空质谱、真空原红外光谱等技术研究属于VskaIIb4:2钼、钨过氧配合物K~4M~4O~1~2(O~2)~1、K~4W~4O~1~2(O~2)~2.4H~2O的热分解行为, 前者中两个过氧基同时分解(278℃), 后者分两步进行(180和342℃), 每步分解一个过氧基, 4:2钨过氧配合物出现在180℃分解的原因是由于结晶水的作用。比较钼、钨过氧配合物分解温度, 发现VaskaIIb型配合物的热稳定性都比VaskaIIa 型的高。  相似文献

We report a systematic and comprehensive investigation of the electronic structures and chemical bonding in a series of ditungsten oxide clusters, W2O(n)- and W2O(n) (n = 1-6), using anion photoelectron spectroscopy and density functional theory (DFT) calculations. Well-resolved photoelectron spectra were obtained at several photon energies (2.331, 3.496, 4.661, 6.424, and 7.866 eV), and W 5d-based spectral features were clearly observed and distinguished from O 2p-based features. More complicated spectral features were observed for the oxygen-deficient clusters because of the W 5d electrons. With increasing oxygen content in W2O(n)-, the photoelectron spectra were observed to shift gradually to higher binding energies, accompanied by a decreasing number of W 5d-derived features. A behavior of sequential oxidation as a result of charge transfers from W to O was clearly observed. A large energy gap (2.8 eV) was observed in the spectrum of W2O6-, indicating the high electronic stability of the stoichiometric W2O6 molecule. Extensive DFT calculations were carried out to search for the most stable structures of both the anion and neutral clusters. Time-dependent DFT method was used to compute the vertical detachment energies and compare to the experimental data. Molecular orbitals were used to analyze the chemical bonding in the ditungsten oxide clusters and to elucidate their electronic and structural evolution.  相似文献

A planar structure of an anion cluster I- x (H2O)6 in a 3D supramolecular complex [Ru(bpy)3]2[I x (H2O)6Fe(CN)6 x H2O] has been determined by single-crystal X-ray analysis. In the supramolecule, the anion cluster I- x (H2O)6, together with the anion [Fe(CN)6 x H2O]2-, acts as a 3D crystal host, and the [Ru(bpy)3]2+ cations, as the guest molecules, occupy the vacancies of the 3D host framework. This is the first crystal example of the anion cluster I- x (H2O)6.  相似文献

In the aqueous chemistry of molybdenum(IV) and tungsten(IV), trinuclear, incomplete cubane-like, oxo and sulfido clusters of the type [M3E4]4+ (M = Mo, W; E = O, S) play a central role. We here describe how formato complexes of all these cluster cores can be prepared in high yields by crystallization from methanol-water or ethanol-water mixtures. Since potassium and ammonium formate are very soluble in these alcohol-water mixtures, high formate concentrations could be accomplished in the solutions from which the corresponding salts of cluster formato complexes crystallized. The [Mo3O4]4+ compounds could be synthesized without requiring the use of noncomplexing acids in the process. Some [M3E4]4+ compounds were characterized by single-crystal structure determinations. [NH4]3.20[K]0.80[H3O][Mo3O4(HCO2)8][HCO2].H2O was triclinic, space group P1 (No. 2) with a = 11.011(2) A, b = 13.310(2) A, c = 9.993(1) A, alpha = 106.817(7) degrees, beta = 91.651(9) degrees, gamma = 88.340(9) degrees, and two formula units per cell. [K]6[W3S4(HCO2)9][HCO2].2.27H2O.0.73CH3OH was monoclinic, space group C2/m (No. 12) with a = 19.605(6) A, b = 14.458(7) A, c = 13.627(5) A, beta = 118.94(2) degrees, and four formula units per cell. Generally, the nine coordination sites of [M3E4]4+ were occupied either by a mixture of monodentate and mu 2-bridging formato ligands or by monodentate formato ligands only. By dissolution in noncomplexing strong acid, all the formato complexes immediately hydrolyzed to form [M3E4(H2O)9]4+ aqua complexes. This allows, for example, high concentrations of [Mo3S4(H2O)9]4+ in CF3SO3H to be obtained and these solutions to be used for the synthesis of bimetallic clusters containing the cubane-like motif Mo3M'S4.  相似文献

The reaction between the oxometallic complexes Cp*(2)M(2)O(5) and Na(2)M'O(4) (M, M' = Mo, W) in a 1:10 molar ratio in an acidic aqueous medium constitutes a mild and selective entry into the anionic Lindqvist-type hexametallic organometallic mixed oxides [Cp*Mo(x)W(6-x)O(18)](-) [x = 6 (1), 5 (2), 1 (3), 0 (4)]. All of these compounds have been isolated as salts of nBu(4)N(+) (a), nBu(4)P(+) (b), and Ph(4)P(+) (c) cations and two of them (1 and 3) also with the n-butylpyridinium (nBuPyr(+), d) cation. The compounds have been characterized by elemental analyses, thermogravimetric analyses, electrospray mass spectrometry, and IR spectroscopy. The molecular identity and geometry of compounds 1c, 2a, and 2c have been confirmed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Density functional theory calculations on models obtained by replacing Cp* with Cp (I-IV) have provided information on the assignment of the terminal M═O and bridging M-O-M vibrations.  相似文献

An experimental and theoretical study of the photoionization energies (IE's) of Ba(H(2)O)(n) clusters containing up to n = 4 water molecules has been performed. The clusters were generated by a pick-up source combining laser vaporization with pulsed supersonic expansion, and then photoionized by radiation of 272.5-340 nm. The experimentally determined IE(e)'s for n = 1 to 4 are 4.56 ± 0.05, 4.26 ± 0.05, 3.90 ± 0.05 and 3.71 ± 0.05 eV. This cluster size dependence of IE is reproduced within ±0.06 eV employing the mPW1PW91 density-functional and CCSD(T, Full) quantum-chemical methods combined with the 6-311++G(d,p) basis set for the H and O atoms and three different relativistic effective core potentials for Ba atoms. The calculations indicate that the lowest energy hydration structures represent the most relevant contributions to both the vertical and adiabatic ionization energies. Experimental and theoretical evidence correlates with the progressive surface-delocalization of the electron from the hydration cavity around the Ba atom and suggests that the intra-cluster electron transfer is possible even for small aggregates.  相似文献

Supramolecular compounds of the compositions {[Cr2(OH)2(H2O)8](C42H42N28O14)2}-(NO3)4·18.75H2O (1) and {[Cr4(OH)6(H2O)12](C48H48N32O16)3(NO3)6·55H2O (2) were synthesized from aqueous solutions of chromium(III) nitrate and the macrocyclic cavitand cucurbit[n]uril (C6n H6n N4n O2n , where n = 7 or 8, respectively). According to the X-ray diffraction study, the polynuclear chromium aqua complexes are disposed in cavities formed by the cucurbit[n]uril molecules and are linked to these molecules through hydrogen bonds between the hydroxo and aqua ligands of the polycations and the portal oxygen atoms of the macrocycles. Compound 1 is the first example of supramolecular compounds of cucurbit[7]uril with metal aqua complexes. The isolation of the supramolecular adduct with cucurbit[8]uril 2 in the single-crystalline state allows the determination of the structure of the tetranuclear chromium aqua complex having an adamantane-like structure, [Cr42-OH)6(H2O)12]6+, which has been previously unknown in the solid state.  相似文献

Oxidation of [N(n-Bu(4))](2)[B(9)H(9)] with oxygen in a mixture of dimethoxyethane and CH(2)Cl(2) leads to salts of the [B(7)H(7)](2-) dianion. This is the first convenient synthesis for a seven-vertex hydro-closo-borate anion. Protonation with NEt(3)·HCl resulted in salts of the [B(7)H(8)](-) monoanion. Both closo-borate anions were isolated and characterized by (1)H, (1)H{(11)B}, (11)B, and (11)B{(1)H} NMR spectroscopy. The temperature-dependent (1)H{(11)B}, (11)B, and (11)B{(1)H} NMR spectra of [B(7)H(8)](-) were also measured. The structure of [B(7)H(7)](2-) as well as of [B(7)H(8)](-) were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

The tetrabutylammonium gamma-dodecatungstosilicate has been crystallized in a 6/1 acetonitrile/water solvent. An X-ray single-crystal analysis was carried out on [N(C4H9)4]4-gamma-[SiW12O40] which crystallizes in the orthorhombic system, space group P2(1)2(1)2(1), with a = 19.0881(3) A, b = 21.4435(3) A, c = 26.0799(1) A, V = 10674.9(2) A3, Z = 4, and rho(calcd) = 2.392 g/cm3. The idealized C2v arrangement of the anion results from the rotation of 60 degrees of two trigonal [W3O13] groups in the Keggin anion. Taking as reference the geometrical characteristics of the Keggin anion, it appears that the bond lengths and bonds angles within the four [W3O13] groups are not significantly modified while the mu-oxo junctions between the two rotated groups and those between the two unrotated groups involve more acute and opened W-O-W angles, respectively. The syntheses and 183W NMR characterizations of the mixed gamma-[SiW10Mo2O40]n- compounds corresponding to the oxidized (Mo(VI); n = 4) and to the two electron-reduced (Mo(V); n = 6) anions are reported. Structural analysis by 183W NMR has proved unambiguously that the C2v structure of the gamma-[SiW10O36]8- subunit is retained in both the compounds. The electronic behavior of the series gamma-[SiW10M2E2O36]6- (M = Mo or W; E = O or S) is examined, compared and related to 183W NMR data.  相似文献
