This paper deals with bounded linear regularity, linear regularity and the strong conical hull intersection property (CHIP) of a collection of finitely many closed convex intersecting sets in Banach spaces. It is shown that, as in finite dimensional space setting (see [6]), the standard constraint qualification implies bounded linear regularity, which in turn yields the strong conical hull intersection property, and that the collection of closed convex sets {C 1, . . . ,C n } is bounded linearly regular if and only if the tangent cones of {C 1, . . . ,C n } has the CHIP and the normal cones of {C 1, . . . ,C n } has the property (G)(uniformly on a neighborhood in the intersection C). As applications, we study the global error bounds for systems of linear and convex inequalities. In this paper, we study the asymptotic behaviour of a given equicoercive sequence of diffusion energies F n , , defined in L 2(Ω), for a bounded open subset Ω of . We prove that, contrary to the dimension three (or greater), the Γ-limit of any convergent subsequence of F n is still a diffusion energy. We also provide an explicit representation formula of the Γ-limit when its domains contains the regular functions with compact support in Ω. This compactness result is based on the uniform convergence satisfied by some minimizers of the equicoercive sequence F n , which is specific to the dimension two. The compactness result is applied to the period framework, when the energy density is a highly oscillating sequence of equicoercive matrix-valued functions. So, we give a definitive answer to the question of the asymptotic behaviour of periodic conduction problems under the only assumption of equicoerciveness for the two-dimensional conductivity.  相似文献

The Sz.-Nagy-FoiaŞ functional model for completely non-unitary contractions is extended to completely non-coisometric sequences of bounded operatorsT = (T1,...,T d) (d finite or infinite) on a Hilbert space, with bounded characteristic functions. For this class of sequences, it is shown that the characteristic function θT is a complete unitary invariant. We obtain, as the main result, necessary and sufficient conditions for a bounded multi-analytic operator on Fock spaces to coincide with the characteristic function associated with a completely non-coisometric sequence of bounded operators on a Hilbert space. The classification theory of Riemann surfaces is generalized to Riemanniann-manifolds in the conformally invariant case. This leads to the study of the existence ofA-harmonic functions of typen with various properties and to an extension of the definition of the classical notions with inclusionsO G O HP O HB O HD . In the classical case the properness of the inclusions were proved rather late, in the 50's by Ahlfors and Tôki. We obtain an asymptotic formula forA n,q , the number of digraphs withn labeled vertices,q edges and no cycles. The derivation consists of two separate parts. In the first we analyze the generating function forA n,q so as to obtain a central limit theorem for an associated probability distribution. In this paper, we prove that the K?hler–Ricci flow converges to a K?hler–Einstein metric when E 1 energy is small. We also prove that E 1 is bounded from below if and only if the K-energy is bounded from below in the canonical class. We prove that for any partition (λ1,…,λd2) of size ?d there exists k?1 such that the tensor square of the irreducible representation of the symmetric group Sk?d with respect to the rectangular partition (k?,…,k?) contains the irreducible representation corresponding to the stretched partition (kλ1,…,kλd2). We also prove a related approximate version of this statement in which the stretching factor k is effectively bounded in terms of d. We further discuss the consequences for geometric complexity theory which provided the motivation for this work.  相似文献

LetE be a complex Banach space with open unit ballB e. The structure of the space of composition operators on the Banach algebra H∞, of bounded analytic functions onB e with the uniform topology, is studied. We prove that the composition operators arising from mappings whose range lies strictly insideB e form a path connected component. WhenE is a Hilbert space or aC o(X)- space, the path connected components are shown to be the open balls of radius 2. In this paper, we investigate symmetric jump-type processes on a class of metric measure spaces with jumping intensities comparable to radially symmetric functions on the spaces. The class of metric measure spaces includes the Alfors d-regular sets, which is a class of fractal sets that contains geometrically self-similar sets. A typical example of our jump-type processes is the symmetric jump process with jumping intensity where ν is a probability measure on , c(α, x, y) is a jointly measurable function that is symmetric in (x, y) and is bounded between two positive constants, and c 0(x, y) is a jointly measurable function that is symmetric in (x, y) and is bounded between γ1 and γ2, where either γ2 ≥ γ1 > 0 or γ1 = γ2 = 0. This example contains mixed symmetric stable processes on as well as mixed relativistic symmetric stable processes on . We establish parabolic Harnack principle and derive sharp two-sided heat kernel estimate for such jump-type processes. Dedicated to Professor Masatoshi Fukushima on the occasion of his 70th birthday. Let M be a complete open n-manifold with a base point p, at which the radial sectional curvature along every minimizing geodesic emanating from p is bounded below by the radial curvature function of a model surface. We discuss the maximal diameter theorem for the compactification of M by attaching the ideal boundary. Under certain conditions we prove that p becomes a pole and that M is isometric to the n-model. The paper is related to the question of uniqueness in the inverse logarithmic potential problem. This question is to find the conditions on which two domains D 1 and D 2 producing the same external potential must coincide. Assuming the general hypothesis of regularity and an additional condition of connectivity of (D1D2)c, we prove a theorem of uniqueness in the case when one of the domains is a lemniscate. The main tool is one lemma for Cauchy's potential due to M. Sakai. We give a simple proof of its extension to Newtonian potential.

   Abstract. Let G be a simply connected domain in the complex plane bounded by a closed Jordan curve L and let P n , n≥ 0 , be polynomials of respective degrees n=0,1,··· that are orthonormal in G with respect to the area measure (the so-called Bergman polynomials). Let ϕ be a conformal map of G onto the unit disk. We characterize, in terms of the asymptotic behavior of the zeros of P n 's, the case when ϕ has a singularity on L . To investigate the opposite case we consider a special class of lens-shaped domains G that are bounded by two orthogonal circular arcs. Utilizing the theory of logarithmic potentials with external fields, we show that the limiting distribution of the zeros of the P n 's for such lens domains is supported on a Jordan arc joining the two vertices of G . We determine this arc along with the distribution function.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group and let p be a prime such that (p, |G|) = 1. We study conditions under which the Abelian group p [G] has a few G-orbits whose union generate it as an expander (equivalently, all the discrete Fourier coefficients (in absolute value) of this generating set are bounded away uniformly from one).We prove a (nearly sharp) bound on the distribution of dimensions of irreducible representations of G which implies the existence of such expanding orbits. We further show a class of groups for which such a bound follows from the expansion properties of G. Together, these lead to a new iterative construction of expanding Cayley graphs of nearly constant degree.  相似文献

We study some equivalent and necessary conditions for a finite graph to be the covering graph of a (partially) ordered set. For each 1, M. Aigner and G. Prins have introduced a notion of a vertex colouring, here called -good colouring, such that a 1-good colouring is the usual concept and graphs that have a 2-good colouring are precisely covering graphs. We present some inequalities for the corresponding chromatic numbers , especially for x 2. There exist graphs that satisfy these inequalities for =2 but are not covering graphs. We show also that x 2 cannot be bounded by a function of x=x 1. A construction of Neetil and Rödl is used to show that x 2 is not bounded by a function of the girth.  相似文献

We prove that a triangle-free graph drawn in the torus with all faces bounded by even walks is 3-colorable if and only if it has no subgraph isomorphic to the Cayley graph C(Z 13; 1,5). We also prove that a non-bipartite quadrangulation of the Klein bottle is 3-colorable if and only if it has no non-contractible separating cycle of length at most four and no odd walk homotopic to a non-contractible two-sided simple closed curve. These results settle a conjecture of Thomassen and two conjectures of Archdeacon, Hutchinson, Nakamoto, Negami and Ota. We show that every contractive C 0-semigroup on a separable, infinite-dimensional Hilbert space X can be approximated by unitary C 0-groups in the weak operator topology uniformly on compact subsets of ℝ+. As a consequence we get a new characterization of a bounded H -calculus for the negatives of generators of bounded holomorphic semigroups. Applications of our results to the study of a topological structure of the set of (almost) weakly stable contractive C 0-semigroups on X are also discussed. Using results from theory of bundles of topological vector spaces, we prove some spectral synthesis and other results in certain topological algebras of vector-valued functions. In particular, we extend and generalize results of J.W. Kitchen and the second-named author (1996). We obtain as a corollary a recent (2008) result of Arizmendi-Peimbert/Carillo-Hoyo/García on the spectral synthesis property in (C b (X),β), the space of bounded continuous functions on the completely regular Hausdorff space X under the strict topology β which arises from weighting by the non-negative upper semicontinuous functions on X which disappear at infinity.  相似文献

Let π be a set of prime numbers andG a finite π-separable group. Let θ be an irreducible π′-partial character of a normal subgroupN ofG and denote by Iπ′ (G‖θ), the set of all irreducible π′-partial characters Φ ofG such that θ is a constituent of ΦN. In this paper, we obtain some information about the vertices of the elements in Iπ′ (G‖θ). As a consequence, we establish an analogue of Fong's theorem on defect groups of covering blocks, for the vertices of the simple modules (in characteristicsp) of a finitep-solvable group lying over a fixed simple module of a normal subgroup.  相似文献

Harmonic functions with respect to the Poincare metric on the unit ball are called hyperbolic harmonic functions. We establish the weak formulation of hyperbolic harmonic functions and use it in the study of hyperbolic harmonic function spaces. In particular, we give the Carleson measure characterization for the whole spectrum of spaces, whose analytic counterparts include among else Bloch spaces, Bergman-spaces, Besov-spaces, and Qp-spaces.
