Monodisperse polymethacrylate beads of varied size and crosslink density are prepared by emulsion copolymerization of methacrylate and divinyl monomers in the absence of emulsifiers. The sizes of polybutyl and polyethyl methacrylate beads decreased with increasing polymerization temperature, while polymethyl methacrylate beads were largely unchanged in size. The molar mass of polymer in polymethyl metnacrylate beads markedly exceeded that in polystyrene beads. The rate of polymerization increased, and bead size decreased, with increasing initiator concentration or decreasing monomer concentration. The polymethacrylate beads are used as filler particles in polymer composites.  相似文献

以聚苯乙烯乳液为种球,以药品美托洛尔为模板分子,甲基丙烯酸为功能单体,二甲基丙烯酸乙二醇酯为交联剂,采用两步溶胀和种子悬浮聚合方法,通过优化反应条件,制得单分散性优良的球形分子烙印聚合物(molecularly imprinted polymers,MIPs)。重点讨论了致孔剂、分散剂和乳化剂的选择、搅拌速度对聚合物的粒径大小和分布、表观形态及吸附性能等的影响。通过聚合物对几种β-受体类药物分子的平衡吸附实验表明,MIP对模板分子美托洛尔具有良好的识别能力。  相似文献

A series of non-ionic polystyrene latices in aqueous media containing particles with a narrow size distribution have been prepared using a nonyl phenol poly(ehylene glycol) condensate as the surfactant, methoxy poly(ethylene glycol methacrylate) as the comonomer/stabilizer, and ascorbic acid/hydrogen peroxide as the initiator system. As a control synthesis for comparison with the above latex, a charge stabilized polystyrene latex was prepared, using an anionic surfactant and potassium persulphate as the initiator. Latices employing a combination of charge plus steric stabilization mechanisms were also prepared, in order to investigate the effect of the non-ionic surfactant and the comonomer/stabilizer. The particle size of the latices was measured by transmission electron microscopy, the surface charge density by conductimetric titration and the glass transition temperature of the polymer by differential scanning calorimetry. The latex prepared using non-ionic ingredients, showed no titratable charge and exhibited a profound lowering of the glass transition temperature, with respect to the charge stabilized latex. On the basis of these results, schematic models for the polymerization mechanism and the morphology of the latex particles are proposed.  相似文献

Biodegradable polymeric microspheres are ideal vehicles for controlled delivery applications of drugs, peptides and proteins. Amongst them, poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) has generated enormous interest due to their favorable properties and also has been approved by FDA for drug delivery. Insulin-loaded PLGA microparticles were prepared by our developed single phase oil in oil (o/o) emulsion solvent evaporation technique. Insulin, a model protein, was successfully loaded into microparticles by changing experimental variables such as polymer molecular weight, polymer concentration, surfactant concentration and stirring speed in order to optimize process variables on drug encapsulation efficiency, release rates, size and size distribution. A 24 full factorial design was employed to evaluate systematically the combined effect of variables on responses. Scanning electron microscope (SEM) confirmed spherical shapes, smooth surface morphology and microsphere structure without aggregation. FTIR and DSC results showed drug–polymer interaction. The encapsulation efficiency of insulin was mainly influenced by surfactant concentration. Moreover, polymer concentration and polymer molecular weight affected burst release of drug and size characteristics of microspheres, respectively. It was concluded that using PLGA with higher molecular weight, high surfactant and polymer concentrations led to a more appropriate encapsulation efficiency of insulin with low burst effect and desirable release pattern.  相似文献

采用分散聚合法制备出平均粒径为3.85 μm的窄分布聚苯乙烯微球, 并在此基础上引入第二单体丙烯腈进行共聚反应, 制备出平均粒径为4.02 μm的窄分布苯乙烯-丙烯腈共聚物微球. 对聚苯乙烯微球和苯乙烯-丙烯腈共聚物微球进行了形貌及粒径、红外光谱、差示扫描量热法(DSC)分析, 结果表明丙烯腈基团均匀分布在聚苯乙烯微球表面, 提高了聚苯乙烯微球表面的极性.  相似文献

Blends of polyethylene and polystyrene have been prepared to study the effect of the morphology on their crystallization characteristics since the polymers are known to phase separate. The polymer component present in least amount formed a dispersed phase of discrete spherical particles whose number and size altered with blend composition. However, close to 50% composition cylindrical rods of polyethylene dispersed in polystyrene were observed. With polyethylene in excess the kinetics of crystallization were insensitive to the morphology, but with polyethylene present as the dispersed phase they became dependent on the size and number of the spheres, and in particular on the nucleation density. When the number of spherical particles exceeded that of heterogeneous nuclei, larger supercoolings, and so presumably homogeneous nucleation, were required for crystallization to develop further. The degree of crystallization of the blends then became dependent on the temperature of crystallization rather than on time, and the isothermal crystallization appearing to be instantaneous.  相似文献

Polystyrene template microspheres of narrow size distribution were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene in a mixture of ethanol and 2‐methoxy ethanol. Spherical and hemispherical polystyrene/poly(glycidyl methacrylate) microspheres of narrow size distribution were prepared by a single‐step swelling of the polystyrene template microspheres with the swelling solvent monomer glycidyl methacylate, followed by polymerization of the monomer within the swollen template microspheres at 73 °C. Uniform polystyrene/poly(glycidyl methacylate‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) polyepoxide composite microspheres were synthesized similarly, substituting glycidyl methacylate for glycidyl methacylate and ethylene glycol dimethacrylate. Uniform crosslinked poly(glycidyl methacylate‐ethylene glycol dimethacrylate) polyepoxide microspheres have been prepared by dissolution of the PS template polymer of the former composite microspheres. Particles with different properties, for example size, size distribution, shape, surface morphology, surface area, and so forth, were prepared by changing various parameters belonging to the swelling and/or polymerization steps, for example, volume of the swelling monomer/s and/or the swelling solvent dibutyl phthalate. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 用扫描隧道显微镜(STM)研究微乳液聚合法制备的聚苯乙烯微球.STM图像显示这种聚苯乙烯微球的表面具有不同的聚集态结构.在表面的某些区域,聚合物链没有相互缠结现象,而是有序地堆积在一起.在适当的情况下,同一条链上的苯基还会堆砌起来,形成一种平行移位的结构,其类似于苯双分子的最稳定结构.还用STM研究了用苯溶胀过的聚苯乙烯粒子,并观察到了类似螺旋结构的聚合物链以及扭曲的聚合物链.在聚苯乙烯微球中,聚合物链段和苯基的有序堆砌状态的存在,是因为苯乙烯单体已经在微乳液内的某些区域堆砌成有序的状态.  相似文献

Uniform polyglycidyl methacrylate/polystyrene core-shell micrometer-sized particles were prepared by emulsion polymerization at 73 degrees C of glycidyl methacrylate in the presence of the core polystyrene microspheres. Core-shell particles with different properties (size, surface morphology and composition) have been prepared by changing various parameters belonging to the above seeded emulsion polymerization process, e.g., volumes of the monomer glycidyl methacrylate and the crosslinker monomer ethylene glycol dimethacrylate. Magnetic Fe(3)O(4)/polyglycidyl methacrylate/polystyrene micrometer-sized particles were prepared by coating the former core-shell particles with magnetite nanoparticles via a nucleation and growth mechanism. Characterization of the various particles has been accomplished by routine methods such as light microscopy, SEM, FTIR, BET and magnetic measurements.  相似文献

在表面由十一烯酸和油酸共同修饰的Fe3O4磁流体存在下,以苯乙烯(St)和丙烯酸(AA)为共聚单体,用细乳液聚合法,制备了单分散,高Fe3O4含量,且表面带有羧基的超顺磁性高分子复合微球.采用透射电镜(TEM),热重分析(TGA),物性测量系统(PPMS),Zeta电位以及红外光谱等手段对磁性复合微球的各项性能进行表征.结果表明,Fe3O4粒子的表面改性是影响复合微球Fe3O4含量及形貌的关键因素.在优化的实验条件下,可以制得Fe3O4含量高达77wt%,平均粒径为137·9nm,表面羧基密度0·0894mmol/g,比饱和磁化强度为44·7emu/g的单分散超顺磁性高分子复合微球.  相似文献

Cadmium sulfide (CdS) quantum dots (QDs) encapsulated in block copolymer spheres were synthesized by an aqueous emulsion polymerization process. First, stable dispersions of CdS QDs in water were prepared using a polymer dispersant, either poly(acrylic acid) or a random copolymer having an average of ten acrylic acid and five butyl acrylate units. These polymer dispersants were prepared by reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer polymerization. Then, the CdS QDs dispersed in water were encapsulated in a polystyrene shell using an emulsion polymerization process. Spectroscopic and microscopic techniques were used to characterize the resulting nanocomposites. Optical properties of QDs in polymer microspheres were investigated by UV-vis and fluorescence spectroscopic studies. Particle sizes of all CdS QD samples were calculated from absorption edges using Henglein's empirical curve. Transmission electron microscopy was used to determine the size and morphology of CdS QD samples. These observations were used to elucidate the mechanism of formation of the resulting well-defined polymer-encapsulated CdS nanoparticles.  相似文献

以苯乙烯、甲基丙烯酸甲酯、丙烯腈等单体或它们的混合物为硬单体,天然胶乳为弹性组分,经多步种子乳液聚合法制得了在天然胶乳的粒子上镶嵌硬聚合物相的互穿网络型乳胶粒子.考察了十二烷基硫酸钠、十二烷基苯磺酸钠、壬基酚聚氧乙烯醚、油酸等乳化体系,过硫酸钾、过氧化苯甲酰热引发体系及异丙苯过氧化氢-四乙烯五胺、叔丁基过氧化氢-四乙烯五胺等氧化还原引发体系对聚合反应的影响.研究了交联剂用量对互穿结合率、溶胶含量的影响及溶胀时间、硬单体组成、乳化剂种类对乳胶粒子形态的影响,确定了适宜的聚合配方和工艺条件.透射电镜观察乳粒形态结果表明,单一使用极性或非极性单体,仅得到核-壳结构乳液,而采用不同极性单体复合、溶胀、互穿,得到的是镶嵌硬聚合物型乳粒结构.  相似文献

A general strategy for the synthesis of polymeric hierarchical microparticles containing surface nanoparticles through modified seed emulsion polymerization is proposed. This modified seed emulsion polymerization has a character that suitable amount of monomer miniemulsion is added during the polymerization. The in situ synthesized surface nanoparticles which are resulted from the monomer miniemulsion as well as the shell-forming polymer coagulate on the seed particles and therefore hierarchical microparticles are fabricated. Various polymeric hierarchical microparticles containing 20-36 nm poly(styrene-co-acrylamide), poly(styrene-co-acrylic acid), and polystyrene surface nanoparticles are synthesized following the proposed method. The advantages in the present synthesis including both the well controls in the size, the composition, and the number of the surface nanoparticles and the convenience are demonstrated. The proposed strategy is anticipated to be a general method to fabricate hierarchical microparticles and is believed to have promising application in particle surface modification.  相似文献

Patterned "bead in pore" composite film with hemispherical or mushroomlike TiO(2) microparticles lying in the holes of a honeycomblike polystyrene matrix has been fabricated by a template-free bottom-up approach from a homogeneous solution of TiCl(4)/polystyrene/CHCl(3) using the breath figures method. It is a very simple way to prepare hemispherical or mushroomlike TiO(2) microparticles and to get the hexagonally nonclose-packed arrays of asymmetrical particles with or without polymer matrix, which have potential applications in photonics.  相似文献

Shape-persistent macrocycles based on the phenyl-ethynyl-butadienyl backbone containing two extraannular hydroxyl groups were prepared by the oxidative coupling of the appropriate phenylethynyl oligomers. Carbodiimide-directed coupling with independently synthesized polystyrene carboxylic acid oligomers led to ABA coil-ring-coil block copolymers in which the central macrocycle serves as rigid and the polystyrene oligomers as flexible elements. Depending on the size of the coil blocks, these structures aggregate in cyclohexane into supramolecular hollow cylindrical brushes in which the rigid core is surrounded by the flexible matrix. However, in the solid state it is not possible to identify a morphology in which isolated channels based on aggregated macrocycles are embedded in a matrix of polystyrene. Detailed X-ray and electron diffraction studies on samples prepared from a solution in cyclohexane under equilibrium conditions show that the material adopts a lamellar morphology in the solid state in which columns of macrocycles are aggregated into layers which are separated by polystyrene.  相似文献

l-Tyrosine polyphosphate (LTP), a “pseudo” poly (amino acid) polymer is characterized by a rapid degradation rate. Subsequently, formulation of a drug delivery system has been investigated by encapsulating fluorescein isothiocyanate–bovine serum albumin (FITC-BSA) within LTP microparticles. Characterization of surface morphology shows a mixture of spherical and discoid particles with a slightly rough surface morphology for all microparticle formulations. Dynamic laser light scattering (DLS) shows a decrease in particle diameters and size distribution upon FITC-BSA encapsulation. LTP microparticles are found to degrade over a period of 7 days, and complete release of FITC-BSA is observed over a period of 6 days. Cytotoxicity evaluation of LTP microparticles indicates that these microparticles do not cause severe cell death in cultured primary human dermal fibroblasts over a period of 10 days. Therefore, the LTP microparticles are promising candidates for short-term protein delivery applications.  相似文献

在甲基丙烯酸和乳酸接枝修饰的水溶性壳聚糖(CML)存在下, 合成了尺寸均匀的球形CML杂化碳酸钙微粒. 通过层层组装(LBL)技术在该微粒表面形成了聚苯乙烯磺酸钠(PSS)/聚烯丙基胺盐酸盐(PAH)多层膜, 去除碳酸钙微粒后得到内部含有CML的聚电解质微胶囊. 进一步采用紫外光引发CML聚合, 将CML转化为CML微凝胶, 得到内部填充凝胶的微胶囊. 通过扫描电镜、光学显微镜和透射电镜等技术表征了微胶囊的结构. 与传统的LBL微胶囊不同, 凝胶填充的微胶囊干燥时尺寸收缩, 但仍可保持球形; 再次水化后, 能够膨胀恢复其原有尺寸和形态. 各种具有不同电荷性质、分子量和亲疏水性的染料分子及蛋白质均可有效地装载到微胶囊内.  相似文献

Oil-in-water (o/w) emulsions of styrene, as monomer oil in water, were achieved successfully via Pickering emulsification with laponite nanoparticles as the sole inorganic stabilizers. The formed emulsions showed excellent stability not only against droplets coalescence (before polymerization) but also against microparticles coagulation (after polymerization). Generally, the number of composite polystyrene microparticles (PS) increased and their sizes decreased with the content of solid nanoparticles used in stabilizing the precursor o/w emulsions. This is consistent with the formation of rigid layer(s) of the inorganic nanoparticles around the PS microparticles thus a better stability was achieved. The composite microparticles were characterized using various techniques such as surface charge, stability, transmission electron microscope (TEM), scanning electron microscope (SEM) and Fourier transform infra-red (FT-IR). Coating films of the prepared latexes were applied to flat glass surfaces and showed reasonable adhesion compared to PS latex particles prepared with conventional surfactants. The effect of employed conditions on the features of the resulting emulsions in terms of stability and particle size has been discussed.  相似文献

Polystyrene core microspheres of narrow-size distribution were prepared by dispersion polymerization of styrene in a mixture of ethanol and 2-methoxy ethanol. Polystyrene/polychloromethylstyrene and polystyrene/poly(chloromethylstyrene-divinylbenzene) core-shell microspheres of narrow-size distribution were prepared by seeded emulsion polymerization of chloromethylstyrene or chloromethylstyrene and divinylbenzene in the presence of the polystyrene core microspheres at 71 °C. Core-shell particles with different properties (size, surface morphology, and composition) have been prepared by changing various parameters belonging to the emulsion polymerization process, e.g., volume of the chloromethylstyrene and the volume ratio of chloromethylstyrene to divinylbenzene. Dissolution of the polystyrene core of the polystyrene/poly(chloromethylstyrene-divinylbenzene) core-shell particles resulted in the formation of crosslinked hollow polychloromethylstyrene microspheres, broken crosslinked polychloromethylstyrene shells, or particles containing voids, depending on the composition of the polystyrene/poly(chloromethylstyrene-divinylbenzene) particles.  相似文献
