We present and analyse two implicit methods for Ito stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with Poisson-driven jumps. The first method, SSBE, is a split-step extension of the backward Euler method. The second method, CSSBE, arises from the introduction of a compensated, martingale, form of the Poisson process. We show that both methods are amenable to rigorous analysis when a one-sided Lipschitz condition, rather than a more restrictive global Lipschitz condition, holds for the drift. Our analysis covers strong convergence and nonlinear stability. We prove that both methods give strong convergence when the drift coefficient is one-sided Lipschitz and the diffusion and jump coefficients are globally Lipschitz. On the way to proving these results, we show that a compensated form of the Euler–Maruyama method converges strongly when the SDE coefficients satisfy a local Lipschitz condition and the pth moment of the exact and numerical solution are bounded for some p>2. Under our assumptions, both SSBE and CSSBE give well-defined, unique solutions for sufficiently small stepsizes, and SSBE has the advantage that the restriction is independent of the jump intensity. We also study the ability of the methods to reproduce exponential mean-square stability in the case where the drift has a negative one-sided Lipschitz constant. This work extends the deterministic nonlinear stability theory in numerical analysis. We find that SSBE preserves stability under a stepsize constraint that is independent of the initial data. CSSBE satisfies an even stronger condition, and gives a generalization of B-stability. Finally, we specialize to a linear test problem and show that CSSBE has a natural extension of deterministic A-stability. The difference in stability properties of the SSBE and CSSBE methods emphasizes that the addition of a jump term has a significant effect that cannot be deduced directly from the non-jump literature. This work was supported by Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council grant GR/T19100 and by a Research Fellowship from The Royal Society of Edinburgh/Scottish Executive Education and Lifelong Learning Department.

In this paper, we are concerned with the numerical approximation of stochastic differential equations with discontinuous/nondifferentiable drifts. We show that under one-sided Lipschitz and general growth conditions on the drift and global Lipschitz condition on the diffusion, a variant of the implicit Euler method known as the split-step backward Euler (SSBE) method converges with strong order of one half to the true solution. Our analysis relies on the framework developed in [D. J. Higham, X. Mao and A. M. Stuart, Strong convergence of Euler-type methods for nonlinear stochastic differential equations, SIAM Journal on Numerical Analysis, 40 (2002) 1041-1063] and exploits the relationship which exists between explicit and implicit Euler methods to establish the convergence rate results.  相似文献

Recently, numerical solutions of stochastic differential equations have received a great deal of attention. It is surprising that there are not any numerical methods established for neutral stochastic delay differential equations yet. In the paper, the Euler–Maruyama method for neutral stochastic delay differential equations is developed. The key aim is to show that the numerical solutions will converge to the true solutions under the local Lipschitz condition.  相似文献

Delay-differential-algebraic equations have been widely used to model some important phenomena in science and engineering. Since, in general, such equations do not admit a closed-form solution, it is necessary to solve them numerically by introducing suitable integrators. The present paper extends the class of block boundary value methods (BBVMs) to approximate the solutions of nonlinear delay-differential equations with algebraic constraint and piecewise continuous arguments. Under the classical Lipschitz conditions, convergence and stability criteria of the extended BBVMs are derived. Moreover, a couple of numerical examples are provided to illustrate computational effectiveness and accuracy of the methods.

In this paper, we are interested in numerical solutions of stochastic functional differential equations with jumps. Under a global Lipschitz condition, we show that the pth-moment convergence of Euler-Maruyama numerical solutions to stochastic functional differential equations with jumps has order 1/p for any p≥2. This is significantly different from the case of stochastic functional differential equations without jumps, where the order is 1/2 for any p≥2. It is therefore best to use the mean-square convergence for stochastic functional differential equations with jumps. Moreover, under a local Lipschitz condition, we reveal that the order of mean-square convergence is close to 1/2, provided that local Lipschitz constants, valid on balls of radius j, do not grow faster than logj.  相似文献

We consider the mean-square stability of the so-called improved split-step theta method for stochastic differential equations. First, we study the mean-square stability of the method for linear test equations with real parameters. When θ 3/2, the improved split-step theta methods can reproduce the mean-square stability of the linear test equations for any step sizes h 0. Then, under a coupled condition on the drift and diffusion coefficients, we consider exponential mean-square stability of the method for nonlinear non-autonomous stochastic differential equations. Finally, the obtained results are supported by numerical experiments.  相似文献

Summary. We consider systems of delay differential equations (DDEs) of the form with the initial condition . Recently, Torelli [10] introduced a concept of stability for numerical methods applied to dissipative nonlinear systems of DDEs (in some inner product norm), namely RN-stability, which is the straighforward generalization of the wellknown concept of BN-stability of numerical methods with respect to dissipative systems of ODEs. Dissipativity means that the solutions and corresponding to different initial functions and , respectively, satisfy the inequality , and is guaranteed by suitable conditions on the Lipschitz constants of the right-hand side function . A numerical method is said to be RN-stable if it preserves this contractivity property. After showing that, under slightly more stringent hypotheses on the Lipschitz constants and on the delay function , the solutions and are such that , in this paper we prove that RN-stable continuous Runge-Kutta methods preserve also this asymptotic stability property.

In traditional works on numerical schemes for solving stochastic differential equations (SDEs), the globally Lipschitz assumption is often assumed to ensure different types of convergence. In practice, this is often too strong a condition. Brownian motion driven SDEs used in applications sometimes have coefficients which are only Lipschitz on compact sets, but the paths of the SDE solutions can be arbitrarily large. In this paper, we prove convergence in probability and a weak convergence result under a less restrictive assumption, that is, locally Lipschitz and with no finite time explosion. We prove if a numerical scheme converges in probability uniformly on any compact time set (UCP) with a certain rate under a global Lipschitz condition, then the UCP with the same rate holds when a globally Lipschitz condition is replaced with a locally Lipschitz plus no finite explosion condition. For the Euler scheme, weak convergence of the error process is also established. The main contribution of this paper is the proof of n weak convergence of the normalized error process and the limit process is also provided. We further study the boundedness of the second moments of the weak limit process and its running supremum under both global Lipschitz and locally Lipschitz conditions.  相似文献

For stochastic differential equations (SDEs) with a superlinearly growing and globally one-sided Lipschitz continuous drift coefficient, the explicit schemes fail to converge strongly to the exact solution (see, Hutzenthaler, Jentzen and Kloeden in Proc. R. Soc. A, rspa.2010.0348v1?Crspa.2010.0348, 2010). In this article a class of implicit methods, called split-step one-leg theta methods (SSOLTM), are introduced and are shown to be mean-square convergent for such SDEs if the method parameter satisfies $\frac{1}{2}\leq\theta \leq1$ . This result gives an extension of B-convergence from the theta method for deterministic ordinary differential equations (ODEs) to SSOLTM for SDEs. Furthermore, the optimal rate of convergence can be recovered if the drift coefficient behaves like a polynomial. Finally, numerical experiments are included to support our assertions.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider strong convergence and almost sure exponential stability of the backward Euler-Maruyama method for nonlinear hybrid stochastic differential equations with time-variable delay. Under the local Lipschitz condition and polynomial growth condition, it is proved that the backward Euler-Maruyama method is strongly convergent. Additionally, the moment estimates and almost sure exponential stability for the analytical solution are proved. Also, under the appropriate condition, we show that the numerical solutions for the backward Euler-Maruyama methods are almost surely exponentially stable. A numerical experiment is given to illustrate the computational effectiveness and the theoretical results of the method.  相似文献

In this paper we design a class of general split-step balanced methods for solving It? stochastic differential systems with m-dimensional multiplicative noise, in which the drift or deterministic increment function can be taken from any chosen one-step ODE solver. We then give an analysis of their order of strong convergence in a general setting, but for the mean-square stability analysis, we confine our investigation to a special case in which the drift increment function of the methods is replaced by the one from the well known Rosenbrock method. The resulting class of stochastic differential equation (SDE) solvers will have more appropriate and useful mean-square stability properties for SDEs with stiffness in their drift and diffusion parts, compared to some other already reported split-step balanced methods. Finally, numerical results show the effectiveness of these methods.  相似文献

ABSTRACT

In this paper, we investigate the existence and Hyers-Ulam stability for random impulsive stochastic functional differential equations with finite delays. Firstly, we prove the existence of mild solutions to the equations by using Krasnoselskii's fixed point. Then, we investigate the Hyers-Ulam stability results under the Lipschitz condition on a bounded and closed interval. Finally, an example is given to illustrate our results.  相似文献

We construct a non-standard finite difference numerical scheme to approximate stochastic differential equations (SDEs) using the idea of weighed step introduced by R.E. Mickens. We prove the strong convergence of our scheme under locally Lipschitz conditions of a SDE and linear growth condition. We prove the preservation of domain invariance by our scheme under a minimal condition depending on a discretization parameter and unconditionally for the expectation of the approximate solution. The results are illustrated through the geometric Brownian motion. The new scheme shows a greater behaviour compared with the Euler–Maruyama scheme and balanced implicit methods which are widely used in the literature and applications.  相似文献

The critical nonlinear Schrödinger equation (NLS) is the model equation for propagation of laser beam in bulk Kerr medium. One of the final stages in the derivation of NLS from the nonlinear Helmholtz equation (NLH) is to apply paraxial approximation. However, there is numerical evidence suggesting nonparaxiality prevents singularity formation in the solutions of NLS. Therefore, it is important to develop numerical methods for solving nonparaxial NLS. Split-step methods are widely used for finding numerical solutions of NLS equation. Nevertheless, these methods cannot be applied to nonparaxial NLS directly. In this study, we extend the applicability of split-step methods to nonparaxial NLS by using Padé approximant operators. In particular, split-step Crank-Nicolson (SSCN) method is used in conjunction with Padé approximants to provide examples of numerical solutions of nonparaxial NLS.  相似文献

Abstract

In this article, we investigate the strong convergence of the Euler–Maruyama method and stochastic theta method for stochastic differential delay equations with jumps. Under a global Lipschitz condition, we not only prove the strong convergence, but also obtain the rate of convergence. We show strong convergence under a local Lipschitz condition and a linear growth condition. Moreover, it is the first time that we obtain the rate of the strong convergence under a local Lipschitz condition and a linear growth condition, i.e., if the local Lipschitz constants for balls of radius R are supposed to grow not faster than log R.  相似文献

We use state dependent Gaussian perturbations to stabilise the solutions of differential equations with coefficients that take, as arguments, averaged sets of information from the history of the solution, as well as isolated past and present states. The properties that guarantee stability also guarantee positivity of solutions as long as the initial value is nonzero.

We do not require that any component of the coefficients of the equations satisfy Lipschitz conditions. Instead, we require that the functional part of each coefficient which feeds back the present state of the process admit to bounds imposed by a member of a particular class of concave functions. Lipschitz conditions are included as a special case of these bounds.

We generalise these results to the finite dimensional case, also constructing perturbations that can destabilise the otherwise stable solutions of a deterministic system of equations.  相似文献
