We propose a model of a tunable laser based on a tunnel-coupled waveguide semiconductormetamaterial structure. The waveguide semiconductor channel has a positive refractive index and a high Kerr nonlinearity coefficient. In the frequency range under investigation, the channel formed by the magnetoactive metamaterial is characterized by a negative refractive index. Computer simulation is used for investigating the peculiarities of generation of microwave radiation under pumping due to modulated instability in the semiconductor channel and a distributed feedback. The generation frequency is controlled using the dependence of the refractive index of the metamaterial on the external magnetic field.  相似文献

利用菲涅尔—基尔霍夫衍射积分公式,研究薄片近似情况下的Kerr效应带来的波前畸变对高斯光束聚焦特性的影响.在相位延迟为-2~2 rad的范围内进行的模拟计算表明:正Kerr效应能提高高斯光束的聚焦强度、增大相对焦移量、提高聚焦光束的焦平面桶中功率和降低几何焦平面的峰值光强;而负Kerr效应,则会降低聚焦强度、增大相对焦移量、降低聚焦光束的焦平面桶中功率和几何焦平面的峰值光强.可以通过增大光束菲涅尔数来抑制Kerr效应对聚焦特性的影响.  相似文献

 利用全电磁网格粒子方法模拟了外加磁场对等离子体断路开关(POS)断路性能的影响,给出了电压倍增系数与外加磁场的关系曲线。数值模拟表明,外加轴向磁场线圈必须放在同轴型POS阴极的同侧才能显著改善开关的断路性能;当外加角向磁场时,内电极为阴、阳极的同轴型POS的断路性能都得到了不同程度的改善。随着外加磁场的增大,电压倍增系数将达到饱和。  相似文献

We investigate via molecular dynamics simulations the propagation of solitons in a two-dimensional many-body system characterized by Yukawa interaction potential. The solitons are created in an equilibrated system by the application of electric field pulses. Such pulses generate pairs of solitons, which are characterized by a positive and negative density peak, respectively, and which propagate into opposite directions. At small perturbation, the features propagate with the longitudinal sound speed, from which an increasing deviation is found at higher density perturbations. An external magnetic field is found to block the propagation of the solitons, which can, however, be released upon the termination of the magnetic field and can propagate further into directions that depend on the time of trapping and the magnetic field strength.  相似文献

The anomalous loops obtained by applying the traditional Kerr loop technique, in which the sample was pumped by continuous pulses using the method of successive increment scanning external magnetic field, contained memory and accumulation effects originating, respectively, from external field history and multiple pulse excitations. To eliminate the memory effect and study the influence of external magnetic field on the anomalous loops, an initializing field scanning approach was used to replace the method of successive increment scanning external field. And to confirm the existence of accumulation effect and study the influence of pump pulses on the anomalous loops, a controllable pump-pulse-number magneto-optical Kerr technique was used to replace continuous pulses pump Kerr technique. In both ways, measured with different pump fluence and different pump pulses, the results showed clearly the dependence of the hot coercivity and the degree of magnetization reversal on the external field, pump pulse numbers and pump fluence.  相似文献

We analyze the properties of microstructured materials with negative refraction, the so-called left-handed metamaterials. We consider a two-dimensional periodic structure created by arrays of wires and split-ring resonators embedded into a nonlinear dielectric, and calculate the effective nonlinear electric permittivity and magnetic permeability. We demonstrate that the hysteresis-type dependence of the magnetic permeability on the field intensity allows changing the material properties from left- to right-handed and back. These effects can be treated as the second-order phase transitions in the transmission properties induced by the variation of an external field.  相似文献

A detailed study on the lateral displacements of a transverse magnetic (TM) wave transmitted and reflected from a symmetric gyrotropic slab is presented. We give the analytic formulas for the transmission coefficient and the reflection coefficient, as well as the corresponding lateral displacements. It is found that due to the external magnetic field the displacement of a transmitted beam is different from that of reflected one, even for a lossless symmetric configuration. Furthermore, within the chosen frequency band, when the incident angle is near the Brewster angle, the shift of a reflected wave can be large with nonzero reflectance, and can be positive or negative depending on the direction of the applied magnetic field and the incident wave.  相似文献

Electromagnetic localization and the existence of gap solitons in nonlinear metamaterials, which exhibit a stop band in their linear spectral response, is theoretically investigated. For a self-focusing Kerr nonlinearity, the equation for the electric field envelope with carrier frequency in the stop band—where the magnetic permeability µ(?) is positive and the dielectric permittivity ε(?) is negative—is described by a nonlinear Klein-Gordon equation with a dispersive nonlinear term. A family of standing and moving localized waves for both electric and magnetic fields is found, and the role played by the nonlinear dispersive term on solitary wave stability is discussed.  相似文献

We adopt the nonequilibrium Green's function method to theoretically study the Kondo effect in a deformed molecule, which is treated as an electron-phonon interaction (EPI) system. The self-energy for phonon part is calculated in the standard many-body diagrammatic expansion up to the second order in EPI strength. We find that the multiple phonon-assisted Kondo satellites arise besides the usual Kondo resonance. In the antiparallel magnetic configuration the splitting of main Kondo peak and phonon-assisted satellites only happen for asymmetrical dot-lead couplings, but it is free from the symmetry for the parallel magnetic configuration. The EPI strength and vibrational frequency can enhance the spin splitting of both main Kondo and satellites. It is shown that the suppressed zero-bias Kondo resonance can be restored by applying an external magnetic field, whose magnitude is dependent on the phononic effect remarkably. Although the asymmetry in tunnel coupling has no contribution to the restoration of spin splitting of Kondo peak, it can shrink the external field needed to switch tunneling magnetoresistance ratio between large negative dip and large positive peak.  相似文献

Optical properties of a two-dimensional quantum ring with pseudopotential in the presence of an external magnetic field and magnetic flux have been theoretically investigated. Our results show that both of the pseudopotential and magnetic field can affect the third non-linear susceptibility and oscillator strength. In addition, we found that the oscillator strength and the absolute value of the resonant peak of the linear, non-linear and total absorption coefficient demonstrates the Aharonov-Bohm oscillation with magnetic flux, moreover, changes in confinement potential can influence the Aharonov-Bohm oscillation in peak while the resonant peak value of the linear, non-linear and total refractive index changes decreases as magnetic flux increases.  相似文献

The optical absorption coefficient changes and refractive index changes associated with intersubband transitions in a two-dimensional quantum pseudodot system under the influence of a uniform magnetic field are theoretically investigated. In this regard, the electronic structure of the pseudodot system is studied using the one-band effective mass theory, and by means of the compact density matrix approach linear and nonlinear optical absorption coefficient and refractive index changes are calculated. The effects of an external magnetic field and the geometrical size of the pseudodot system on the optical absorption coefficient and refractive index changes are investigated. It is found that the absorption coefficient and refractive index changes are strongly affected not only by an external magnetic field but also by the geometrical size of the pseudodot system.  相似文献

基于三维旋量Gross-Pitaevskii(GP)方程研究在含时周期性外磁场作用下玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚体的动力学行为.结果显示,在含时周期外磁场的作用下,铁磁态自旋为1的玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚体将发生拓扑形变.当磁场的两个零点进入凝聚体后,自旋向上态的密度布居图在z轴上分别形成向上和向下的凸起.随着磁场的两个零点在凝聚体内逐渐重合,向上和向下的凸起被拉长,最终自旋向上态在z轴上呈线状分布,这与理论分析预测得到的孤立狄拉克弦相对应.最后,通过计算凝聚体的超流涡度给出磁单极的表征图.结果显示,凝聚体在磁场的两个零点处形成正、负磁单极对,分别对应着自旋向上态在z轴上向上和向下的凸起.随着磁场的两个零点重合,正、负磁单极对中的两条狄拉克弦逐渐靠近,之后大约经5 ms,它们完全相连,最终形成孤立的狄拉克弦.  相似文献

文章通过自旋光电流与Kerr效应的实验,介绍在自旋一轨道耦合的体系中,如何通过自旋注入来驱动电子的运动产生电流,又如何反过来通过电子的运动或电流在系统中产生自旋激化.实验结果表明,自旋轨道耦合不但给我们提供了对自旋的操控手段,而且还给我们提供了用非磁性材料且无外加磁场条件下作为自旋源的新途径.  相似文献

基于V 形三能级模型运用密度矩阵方程推导了非对称耦合量子阱三阶光学非线性极化率. 具体分析了三阶吸收非线性效率(三阶光学非线性极化率与线性吸收系数之比)随阱间电子相干振荡频率的变化规律. 理论结果表明:三阶吸收非线性效率对阱间电子相干振荡频率相当敏感,当阱间电子相干振荡频率增大时三阶吸收非线性效率显著增强,而当阱间电子相干振荡频率为零时,这种非线性效率类似于单量子阱情况. 与单量子阱相比,对于已设计好的非对称耦合量子阱结构其突出特征表现在,其非线性吸收与色散特性可经由沿材料生长方向偏压进行控制. 据此,我们预期利用这种非对称耦合量子阱结构能设计成光通信中的光限幅器和可控克尔光开关.  相似文献

This paper reports on the results of research into low-dimensional magnetic structures that have been intensively studied over previous decades due to the discovery of novel effects that are exhibited by these structures but not observed in bulk magnetic materials. A nonlinear optical analog of the magnetooptical Kerr effect is revealed in the optical third-harmonic generation in thin magnetic metallic films and nanogranular structures. It is shown that the magnetic nonlinear optical Kerr effect observed in the third harmonic exceeds the magnetooptical analog by more than one order of magnitude.  相似文献

The static field Kerr electro-optic effect has been studied in solutions of the nematic liquid crystals MBBA and PCB in carbon tetrachloride. These compounds are negative and positive nematics respectively. At low field strengths, all solutions exhibited Kerr law behaviour and Kerr constants were evaluated. The dependence of these constants on concentration differed markedly between these two nematic materials. With MBBA, the birefringence and hence the Kerr constant underwent a reversal of sign from positive to negative with increasing solution concentration. With PCB, the Kerr constant was always positive. Whereas MBBA solutions always showed Kerr law behaviour for fields up to 45 kV cm-1, the PCB solutions showed deviations from this at the higher field strengths. Combinations of higher concentrations and field strengths resulted in irregular transients in the birefringence.  相似文献

We study optimal dense coding with thermal entangled states of a two-qubit Heisenberg XX chain and a two-qutrit system. For a two-qubit Heisenberg XX chain, the dense coding capacity is a function of temperature and external magnetic field. Only in the case of an external magnetic field being less than the coupling constant, the optimal dense coding can be realized with thermal entangled states. For a two-qutrit system, we consider the dense coding capacity taking into account of nonlinear coupling constant and an external magnetic field. We find that the nonlinear coupling constant must be less than 0 for dense coding. For the two models, we give the conditions that the parameters of the models have to satisfy a valid dense coding.  相似文献

A unique phase object (PO) with both positive and negative phase retardation is used in the nonlinear-imaging technique with a phase object (NIT-PO) to measure the nonlinear refractive index of materials. Using positive–negative PO, one can increase the sensitivity of the NIT-PO compared with the conventional uniform PO. The improvement of sensitivity is especially significant at negative nonlinear shift regions, and can reach an order of magnitude near the nonlinear phase shift ΔϕNL=-π. The sensitivity increase of the NIT-PO with positive–negative PO is from 1.7 to 3.0 times greater when compared with the Z-scan technique within ΔϕNL≤|π|. An empirical expression is obtained which allows for direct calculation of the Kerr coefficient from measured the nonlinear image. The nonequilibrium Kondo effect is studied in a molecule quantum dot coupled asymmetrically to two ferromagnetic electrodes by employing the nonequilibrium Green function technique. The current-induced deformation of the molecule is taken into account, modeled as interactions with a phonon system, and phonon-assisted Kondo satellites arise on both sides of the usual main Kondo peak. In the antiparallel electrode configuration, the Kondo satellites can be split only for the asymmetric dot-lead couplings, distinguished from the parallel configuration where splitting also exists, even though it is for symmetric case. We also analyze how to compensate the splitting and restore the suppressed zero-bias Kondo resonance. It is shown that one can change the TMR ratio significantly from a negative dip to a positive peak only by slightly modulating a local external magnetic field, whose value is greatly dependent on the electron--phonon coupling strength.  相似文献
