In this paper, chaos in a fractional-order neural network system with varying time delays is presented, and chaotic synchronization system with varying time delays is constructed. The stability of constructed synchronization system is analyzed by Laplace transformation theory. In addition, the bifurcation graph of the chaotic system is illustrated. The study results show that the chaos in such fractional-order neural networks with varying time delay can be synchronized, and Washout filter control can be used to reduce the range of coupled parameter.  相似文献

Time delays are often sources of complex behavior in dynamic systems. Yet its complexity needs to be further explored, particularly when multiple time delays are present. As a purpose to gain insight into such complexity under multiple time delays, we investigate the mechanism for the action of multiple time delays on a particular non-autonomous system in this paper. The original mathematical model under consideration is a Duffing oscillator with harmonic excitation. A delayed system is obtained by adding delayed feedbacks to the original system. Two time delays are involved in such system, one of which in the displacement feedback and the other in the velocity feedback. The time delays are taken as adjustable parameters to study their effects on the dynamics of the system. Firstly, the stability of the trivial equilibrium of the linearized system is discussed and the condition under which the equilibrium loses its stability is obtained. This leads to a critical stability boundary where Hopf bifurcation or double Hopf bifurcation may occur. Then, the chaotic behavior of such system is investigated in detail. Particular emphasis is laid on the effect of delay difference between two time delays on the chaotic properties. A Melnikov’s analysis is employed to obtain the necessary condition for onset of chaos resulting from homoclinic bifurcation. And numerical analyses via the bifurcation diagram and the top Lyapunov exponent are carried out to show the actual time delay effect. Both the results obtained by the two analyses show that the delay difference between two time delays plays a very important role in inducing or suppressing chaos, so that it can be taken as a simple but efficient “switch” to control the motion of a system: either from order to chaos or from chaos to order.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of solutions for a class of three-species predator-prey reaction-diffusion systems with time delays under homogeneous Neumann boundary condition. Some simple and easily verifiable conditions are given to the rate constants of the reaction functions to ensure the convergence of the time-dependent solution to a constant steady-state solution. The conditions for the convergence are independent of diffusion coefficients and time delays, and the conclusions are directly applicable to the corresponding parabolic-ordinary differential system and to the corresponding system without time delays.  相似文献

The exponential stability (with convergence rate α) of uncertain linear systems with multiple time delays is studied in this paper. Using the characteristic function of linear time-delay system, stability criteria are derived to guarantee α-stability. Sufficient conditions are also obtained for exponential stability of uncertain parametric systems with multiple time delays. For two-dimensional time-invariant system with multiple time delays, the proposed stability criteria are shown to be less conservative than those in the literature. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the validity of our new stability criteria.  相似文献

In this paper.the Lotka-Volterra competition system with discrete and distributed time delays is considered.By analyzing the characteristic equation of the linearized system,the local asymptotic stability of the positive equilibrium is investigated.Moreover,we discover the delays don't effect the stability of the equilibrium in the delay system.Finally,we can conclude that the positive equilibrium is global asymptotically stable in the delay system.  相似文献

This paper shows that different environmental noise structures have different effects on population systems. Under two classes of environmental noise perturbations, this paper establishes existence-and-uniqueness theorems of the global positive solution to the stochastic Kolmogorov-type system with infinite distributed delays. As the desired results to population dynamics, this paper also examines asymptotic boundedness, including the moment boundedness and the moment average boundedness in time. To illustrate our idea more clearly, we also discuss a scalar example with mixed delays and a n-dimensional stochastic Lotka-Volterra system with mixed delays.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to investigate the asymptotic behavior of time-dependent solutions of a three-species reaction–diffusion system in a bounded domain under a Neumann boundary condition. The system governs the population densities of a competitor, a competitor–mutualist and a mutualist, and time delays may appear in the reaction mechanism. It is shown, under a very simple condition on the reaction rates, that the reaction–diffusion system has a unique constant positive steady-state solution, and for any nontrivial nonnegative initial function the corresponding time-dependent solution converges to the positive steady-state solution. An immediate consequence of this global attraction property is that the trivial solution and all forms of semitrivial solutions are unstable. Moreover, the state–state problem has no nonuniform positive solution despite possible spatial dependence of the reaction and diffusion. All the conclusions for the time-delayed system are directly applicable to the system without time delays and to the corresponding ordinary differential system with or without time delays.  相似文献

A mathematical model for the quantitative analysis of cancer immune interaction, considering the role of humoral (antibody) mediated immune response with two time delays, namely maturation and interaction delays has been proposed in this paper. The aim of this work is to assess the effect of time delays on the interaction between cancerous cells and the antibodies. After categorizing the parametric plane into different regions based on the existence of equilibria, we investigate both analytically and through simulations, the stability of equilibria and the onset of sustained oscillations through Hopf bifurcations. The direction and stability of the Hopf bifurcation which occurs at the positive interior equilibrium point of the system have also been studied. It is observed that both the delays play an important role in stability switching. Appropriate therapy with a proper choice of system parameters are suggested to obtain cancer free equilibrium.  相似文献

A discrete nonlinear N-species cooperation system with time delays and feedback controls is considered in this paper. Sufficient conditions which ensure the permanence of the system are obtained. It is shown that these conditions are weaker than those of Chen [F.D. Chen, Permanence of a discrete N-species cooperation system with time delays and feedback controls, Appl. Math. Comput. 186(2007) 23-29], that is, our investigation shows that the additional condition in Chen’s paper is not necessary.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate a two-degrees-of-freedom nonlinear quarter-car model with time-delayed feedback control. It is well known that a time delay has destabilizing effects in mathematical models. However, delays are not necessarily destabilizing. In this work we explore a system where a time delay can be both stabilizing and destabilizing. Using the generalized Sturm criterion, the critical control gain for the delay-independent stability region and critical time delays for stability switches are derived. It is shown that there is a small parameter region for delay-independently stability of the system. Once the controlled system with time delay is not delay-independently stable, the system may undergo stability switches with the variation of the time delay. These stability switches correspond to Hopf bifurcations that occur when the time delays cross critical values. Properties of Hopf bifurcation such as direction and stability of bifurcating periodic solutions are determined by using the normal form theory and centre manifold theorem. Numerical simulations are provided to support the theoretical analysis. The critical conditions can provide a theoretical guidance for the design of vehicles with significant reduction of vibration in order to increase passengers ride comfort.  相似文献

The application of Pontryagin's maximum principle to the optimization of linear systems with time delays results in a system of coupled two-point boundary-value problems involving both delay and advance terms. The exact solution of this system of TPBV problems is extremely difficult, if not impossible. In this paper, a fast-converging iterative approach is developed for obtaining the suboptimal control for nonstationary linear systems with multiple state and control delays and with quadratic cost. At each step of the proposed method, a linear nondelay system with an extra perturbing input must be optimized. The procedure can be extended for the optimization of nonlinear systems with multiple time-varying delays, provided that some of the nonlinearities satisfy the Lipschitz condition.  相似文献

This paper investigates the trajectory tracking control of the networked multimanipulator with the existence of time‐varying delays and uncertainties in both kinematics and dynamics. To address time‐varying delays in the communication links, a novel control scheme is established by the design of delay–rate‐dependent networking mutual coupling strengths. Besides, to handle the kinematic and dynamic uncertainties, an adaptive controller is designed. The proposed control scheme guarantees that the networked robotic system can track a commonly desired trajectory cooperatively with the strongly connected communication graph, uncertainties, and time‐varying communicating delays. A Lyapunov–Krasovskii functional is employed to rigorously prove the asymptotic convergence of both tracking errors and synchronization errors. The simulation results are provided to verify the effectiveness of the control method proposed by this paper.  相似文献

The purpose of this paper is to investigate the global exponential stability of impulsive discrete systems with time delays. By using Lyapunov functionals, a number of new global exponential stability criteria are provided. It is shown that a discrete system with time delays can be globally exponentially stabilized by impulses even if it may be unstable itself. Some examples are also presented to illustrate the effectiveness and the superiority of the obtained results.  相似文献

In this paper, we consider a pair of delay-coupled limit-cycle oscillators. Regarding the arithmetical average of two delays as a parameter, we investigate the effect of time delays on its dynamics. We show that there exist stability switches for time delays under certain conditions, which do not occur for the corresponding coupled system without time delays. A similar result has been reported for the same delay by Ramana Reddy et al. (Physica D, 129 [1999]), but in the present paper we give more detailed and specific conditions determining the amplitude death for different delays. On the other hand, we also investigate Hopf bifurcations induced by time delays using the normal form theory and center manifold reduction. In the region where the stability switches may occur, we not only specifically determine the direction of Hopf bifurcations but also show that the bifurcating periodic solutions are orbitally asymptotically stable. Numerical simulation results are also given to support the theoretical predictions.  相似文献

In this paper we have analyzed a limited nutrient–consumer dynamic model involving distributed time delays both in material recycling and growth response of consumer. It is established that the system exhibits instability characteristics due to the presence of time delays. Three different types of naturally feasible bio-control mechanisms are proposed. It is established that these mechanisms have a stabilizing effect on the system in their own respect. Several independent sets of sufficient conditions for the global asymptotic stability are obtained in each case.
