We study solutions to partial differential equations with homogeneous polynomial symbols with respect to a multiplicative one-parameter transformation group such that all eigenvalues of the infinitesimal matrix are positive. The infinitesimal matrix may contain a nilpotent part. In the asymptotic scale of regularly varying functions, we find conditions under which such differential equations have asymptotically homogeneous solutions in the critical case.  相似文献

The discrete ergodic method is generalized to totally positive-ternary quadratic forms over totally real algebraic number fields. We obtain estimates for the number of representations of elements in maximal orders of such number fields which are precise in the sense of the order of growth. The concept of almost-normed spaces is introduced. It is proved that the space of sufficiently smooth functions asymptotically approximating to polynomials (of degrees no higher than a given one) as their argument tends to infinity is an almost-normed space. It is demonstrated that this space is a complete metric space with respect to the metrics generated by the almost-norm introduced. The space of functions strongly asymptotically approximating to polynomials is defined, and its embedding into the space of functions asymptotically approximating to polynomials is proved. The results obtained give a new approach to studying boundary-value problems with asymptotic initial value data at singular points of ordinary differential equations.  相似文献

Generalized cardinal B-splines are defined as convolution products of characteristic functions of self-affine lattice tiles with respect to a given integer scaling matrix. By construction, these generalized splines are refinable functions with respect to the scaling matrix and therefore they can be used to define a multiresolution analysis and to construct a wavelet basis. In this paper, we study the stability and linear independence properties of the integer translates of these generalized spline functions. Moreover, we give a characterization of the scaling matrices to which the construction of the generalized spline functions can be applied.  相似文献

The asymptotic behavior of discrete type-K monotone dynamical systems and reaction-diffusion equations is investigated. The studying content includes the index theory for fixed points, permanence, global stability, convergence everywhere and coexistence. It is shown that the system has a globally asymptotically stable fixed point if every fixed point is locally asymptotically stable with respect to the face it belongs to and at this point the principal eigenvalue of the diagonal partial derivative about any component not belonging to the face is not one. A nice result presented is the sufficient and necessary conditions for the system to have a globally asymptotically stable positive fixed point. It can be used to establish the sufficient conditions for the system to persist uniformly and the convergent result for all orbits. Applications are made to time-periodic Lotka-Volterra systems with diffusion, and sufficient conditions for such systems to have a unique positive periodic solution attracting all positive initial value functions are given. For more general time-periodic type-K monotone reaction-diffusion systems with spatial homogeneity, a simple condition is given to guarantee the convergence of all positive solutions.  相似文献

An open question concerning the quasiasymptotic behavior of distributions at the origin is solved. The question is the following: Suppose that a tempered distribution has quasiasymptotic at the origin in S ′(?), then the tempered distribution has quasiasymptotic in D ′(?), does the converse implication hold? The second purpose of this article is to give complete structural theorems for quasiasymptotics at the origin. This note is concerned with the generalization of Farkas' theorem and its application to derive optimality conditions for a mix-max problem. Farkas' theorem is generalized to a system of inequalities described by sup-min type positively homogeneous functions. This generalization allows us to deal with optimization problems consisting of objective and constraint functions whose directional derivatives are not necessarily convex with respect to the directions. Let f:CC be a meromorpMc function. We study the size of the maximal disc inC, with respect to the spherical metric, in which a single-valued branch of f-1 exists. This problem is related to normality and type criteria. Best possible lower estimates of the size of such discs are obtained for entire functions and a class of meromorphic functions containing all elliptic functions. An estimate for the class of rational functions is also given which is best possible for rational functions of degree 7. For algebraic functions of given genus we obtain an estimate which is precise for genera 2 and 5 and asymptotically best possible when the genus tends to infinity. This study attempts to exploit information from environmental variables together with data envelopment analysis (DEA) efficiency scores for efficiency predictions of groups with more limited information. Based on DEA efficiency scores, decision-making units (DMUs) are sorted into two sets containing efficient and inefficient units, respectively. Then they are reshuffled into homogeneous groups with respect to environmental factors. We assume that the efficiency of DMUs in such a homogeneous group would be correlated. However, efficiency of different groups would vary. A beta binomial logistic model is proposed to fit such phenomena and is applied to predict the performance of a new group of commercialization projects for given environmental characteristics.  相似文献

We derive uniform asymptotic expansions for polynomials orthogonal with respect to a class of weight functions that are real analytic and behave asymptotically like the Freud weight at infinity. Although the limiting zero distributions are the same as in the Freud cases, the asymptotic expansions are different due to the fact that the weight functions may have a finite or infinite number of zeros on the imaginary axis. To resolve the singularities caused by these zeros, an auxiliary function is introduced in the Riemann–Hilbert analysis. Asymptotic formulas are established in several regions covering the whole complex plane. We take the continuous dual Hahn polynomials as an example to illustrate our main results. Some numerical verifications are also given.  相似文献

We consider the Hyers–Ulam stability of a functional equation for continuous functions on a space on which a topological group acts, analogously to the additive functional equation on a group. We show, among other things, that our generalized additive equation, for continuous functions on a homogeneous space of a strongly amenable topological group, is stable provided that the canonical projection from that group to its homogeneous space is a fiber bundle.  相似文献

In this paper, the stabilization problem of switched control systems with time delay is investigated for both linear and nonlinear cases. First, a new global stabilizability concept with respect to state feedback and switching law is given. Then, based on multiple Lyapunov functions and delay inequalities, the state feedback controller and the switching law are devised to make sure that the resulting closed-loop switched control systems with time delay are globally asymptotically stable and exponentially stable.  相似文献

We consider the logarithm of the characteristic polynomial of random permutation matrices, evaluated on a finite set of different points. The permutations are chosen with respect to the Ewens distribution on the symmetric group. We show that the behavior at different points is independent in the limit and are asymptotically normal. Our methods enable us to study also the wreath product of permutation matrices and diagonal matrices with i.i.d. entries and more general class functions on the symmetric group with a multiplicative structure.  相似文献

In this paper we study homogeneous curves in generalized flag manifolds with two isotropy summands with the additional property that such curves are geodesics with respect to each invariant metric on the flag manifold. These curves are called equigeodesics. We give an algebraic characterization for such curves and we exhibit families of equigeodesics in several flag manifolds of classical and exceptional Lie groups.  相似文献

An SEI epidemic model with constant recruitment and infectious force in the latent period is investigated. This model describes the transmission of diseases such as SARS. The behavior of positive solutions to a reaction–diffusion system with homogeneous Neumann boundary conditions are investigated. Sufficient conditions for the local and global asymptotical stability are given by linearization and by the method of upper and lower solutions and its associated monotone iterations. Our result shows that the disease-free equilibrium is globally asymptotically stable if the contact rate is small.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with a class of stochastic boundary value problems and their stability questions. The system, we consider, is governed by a parabolic partial differential equation perturbed by generalized white noise on the boundary. Existence of weak solutions and their regularity properties are established. It is also shown that the solution of the autonomous system generates a Feller process in a Hilbert space, in case the spatial operator is time invariant. The questions of Lyapunov type stability of this class of systems are also examined. The system is shown to be almost surely globally asymptotically stable with respect to a ball centered at the origin. Further, it is shown that there exists a measure, supported on the attractor, which is invariant with respect to the adjoint Feller semigroup. An explicit expression for the generator of the semigroup is also given  相似文献

No assumptions are made on the concavity of the speed as a function of principal curvatures. In this article, some characterizations for gw-subdifferentiability of functions from ? n to ? m are stated. Some criteria for gw-subdifferentiability of generalized lower locally Lipschitz functions and positively homogeneous functions are given. Furthermore, it is proved that every Lipschitz function is gw-subdifferentiable at any point in its domain. Finally, the relationship between directional derivative and gw-subdifferential is given and a convexity criteria for Fréchet differentiable function is given by using gw-subdifferential.  相似文献
