In this article we define a perfect set of Euler tours of K2k + I, I a 1-factor of K2k, to be a set of Euler tours of K2k + I that partition the 2-paths of K2k, with the added condition that if abI, then each Euler tour contains either the digon a b a or b a b. We prove for all k > 1 that K2k + I has a perfect set of Euler tours, and, as a corollary, that L(K2k) has a Hamilton decomposition. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. Herman constructed an autonomous system of two degrees of freedom which says that in non-convex situations, oscillations do happen and Aubry-Mather Theory cannot apply (see the results due to W. F. Chen in 1992). In this paper, it is shown that although the orbits could visit a region far away from the initial point in phase space, they can only exist in some fixed regions in I = (I 1, I 2) plane. Moreover, Aubry-Mather Theory can be applied outside the regions.  相似文献

We provide a straightforward proof of one of the main results of the Baum-Douglas K-homology theory: If A is a separable nuclear C *-algebra and I an ideal of A, then the natural restriction map K 0(A, I) K 0(I) is an isomorphism of Abelian groups.  相似文献

In this paper, a characterization for an I(L)-topological space to be generated by a given co-tower of L-topological spaces is obtained. Moreover, the relationship between some properties of an I(L)-topological vector space generated by a co-tower of L-topological vector spaces and the corresponding properties of the given co-tower of L-topological vector spaces is investigated. Our results show that if an I(L)-topological vector space generated by a co-tower of L-topological vector spaces has some properties, such as local convexity and local boundedness, then all L-topological vector spaces in the co-tower also have the same properties. But the converse is incorrect even in the case of I-topological vector space generated by a co-tower of classical topological vector spaces. Finally, we supply a necessary and sufficient condition for an I(L)-topological vector space generated by a co-tower of L-topological vector spaces with some properties, such as local convexity and local boundedness, to have such properties too.  相似文献

One of the main problems in phylogenetics is to find good approximations of metrics by weighted trees. As an aid to solving this problem, it could be tempting to consider optimal realizations of metrics—the guiding principle being that, the (necessarily unique) optimal realization of a tree metric is the weighted tree that realizes this metric. And, although optimal realizations of arbitrary metrics are, in general, not trees, but rather weighted networks, one could still hope to obtain a phylogenetically informative representation of a given metric, maybe even more informative than the best approximating tree. However, optimal realizations are not only difficult to compute, they may also be non-unique. Here we focus on one possible way out of this dilemma: hereditarily optimal realizations. These are essentially unique, and can be described in a rather explicit way. In this paper, we recall what a hereditarily optimal realization of a metric is and how it is related to the 1-skeleton of the tight span of that metric, and we investigate under what conditions it coincides with this 1-skeleton. As a consequence, we will show that hereditarily optimal realizations for consistent metrics, a large class of phylogentically relevant metrics, can be computed in a straight-forward fashion. We shall call a monoid S principally weakly (weakly) left coherent if direct products of nonempty families of principally weakly (weakly) flat right S-acts are principally weakly (weakly) flat. Such monoids have not been studied in general. However, Bulman-Fleming and McDowell proved that a commutative monoid S is (weakly) coherent if and only if the act S I is weakly flat for each nonempty set I. In this article we introduce the notion of finite (principal) weak flatness for characterizing (principally) weakly left coherent monoids. Also we investigate monoids over which direct products of acts transfer an arbitrary flatness property to their components.  相似文献

A frequently occurring problem is to find a probability vector,pD, which minimizes theI-divergence between it and a given probability vector π. This is referred to as theI-projection of π ontoD. Darroch and Ratcliff (1972,Ann. Math. Statist.,43, 1470–1480) gave an algorithm whenD is defined by some linear equalities and in this paper, for simplicity of exposition, we propose an iterative procedure whenD is defined by some linear inequalities. We also discuss the relationship betweenI-projection and the maximum likelihood estimation for multinomial distribution. All of the results can be applied to isotonic cone.  相似文献

LetR be a commutative, semi-local ring,I 1, ...,I s ideals. In this paper, we define therelative Milnor K-groups of (R;I 1, ...,I s ),K p M (R;I 1, ...,I s ), and show that these groups have many of the properties of the usual MilnorK-groups of a field. In particular, assuming a weak condition on the ideals, we show thatK p M (R;I 1, ...,I s ) is isomorphic to the weightp portion of the relative QuillenK-groupK p (R;I 1, ...,I s ), after inverting (p–1)!. We also define the relative group homology of GL n (R;I 1, ...,I s ), and show thatK p M (R;I 1, ...,I s ) is isomorphic toH p (GLp(R;I 1, ...,I s ))/Im(H p (GL p–1 (R;I 1, ...,I s ))). Finally, we consider a generalization to the relative setting of Kato's conjecture asserting that the Galois symbol gives an isomorphism fromK p M (F)/l v to , and show that this relative version of Kato's conjecture implies the Quillen-Lichtenbaum conjectures asserting the Chern class:

Let S be a pomonoid and I a proper right ideal of S. In a previous paper, using the amalgamated coproduct A(I) of two copies of S S over I, we were able to solve one of the problems posed in S. Bulman-Fleming et al. (Commun. Algebra 34:1291–1317, 2006). In the present paper, we investigate further flatness properties of A(I). We also solve another problem stated in the paper cited above. Namely, we determine the condition under which Rees factor S-posets have property (P w ). Research supported by nwnu-kjcxgc-03-18.  相似文献

Fix integers n, x, k such that n≥3, k>0, x≥4, (n, x)≠(3, 4) and k(n+1)<( n n+x ). Here we prove that the order x Veronese embedding ofP n is not weakly (k−1)-defective, i.e. for a general SP n such that #(S) = k+1 the projective space | I 2S (x)| of all degree t hypersurfaces ofP n singular at each point of S has dimension ( n /n+x )−1− k(n+1) (proved by Alexander and Hirschowitz) and a general F∈| I 2S (x)| has an ordinary double point at each PS and Sing (F)=S. In this article we introduced the sequence spaces c I (p), c 0 I (p), m I (p) and m 0 I (p) for p = (p k ), a sequence of positive real numbers. We study some algebraic and topological properties of these spaces. We prove the decomposition theorem and obtain some inclusion relations.   相似文献

Let S° be an inverse semigroup with semilattice biordered set E° of idempotents and E a weakly inverse biordered set with a subsemilattice Ep = { e ∈ E | arbieary f ∈ E, S(f , e) loheain in w(e)} isomorphic to E° by θ:Ep→E°. In this paper, it is proved that if arbieary f, g ∈E, f ←→ g→→ f°θD^s° g°θand there exists a mapping φ from Ep into the symmetric weakly inverse semigroup P J(E∪ S°) satisfying six appropriate conditions, then a weakly inverse semigroup ∑ can be constructed in P J(S°), called the weakly inverse hull of a weakly inverse system (S°, E, θ, φ) with I(∑) ≌ S°, E(∑) ∽- E. Conversely, every weakly inverse semigroup can be constructed in this way. Furthermore, a sufficient and necessary condition for two weakly inverse hulls to be isomorphic is also given.  相似文献

Let X1, …, Xn be independent random variables and define for each finite subset I {1, …, n} the σ-algebra = σ{Xi : i ε I}. In this paper -measurable random variables WI are considered, subject to the centering condition E(WI ) = 0 a.s. unless I J. A central limit theorem is proven for d-homogeneous sums W(n) = ΣI = dWI, with var W(n) = 1, where the summation extends over all (nd) subsets I {1, …, n} of size I = d, under the condition that the normed fourth moment of W(n) tends to 3. Under some extra conditions the condition is also necessary.  相似文献

Weakly associative lattice rings (wal-rings) are non-transitive generalizations of lattice ordered rings (l-rings). As is known, the class of l-rings which are subdirect products of linearly ordered rings (i.e. the class of f-rings) plays an important role in the theory of l-rings. In the paper, the classes of wal-rings representable as subdirect products of to-rings and ao-rings (both being non-transitive generalizations of the class of f-rings) are characterized and the class of wal-rings having lattice ordered positive cones is described. Moreover, lexicographic products of weakly associative lattice groups are also studied here.  相似文献

We set up the existence of a symmetric outcome of a system of simultaneous nonlinear fractional integral equations, that arises in motion of water wave on smooth surface, with the help of a common fixed point theorem satisfying a generalized FG-contractive condition. To accomplish this, we introduce first the concept of generalized FG-contractive condition for two pairs of self-mappings in a complete metric space and then we establish requisites for common fixed point results for weakly compatible mappings followed by a suitable example.  相似文献

The idea of I-convergence was introduced by Kostyrko et al (2001) and also independently by Nuray and Ruckle (2000) (who called it generalized statistical convergence) as a generalization of statistical convergence (Fast (1951), Schoenberg(1959)). For the last few years, study of these convergences of sequences has become one of the most active areas of research in classical Analysis. In 2003 Muresaleen and Edely introduced the concept of statistical convergence of double sequences. In this paper we consider the notions of I and I*-convergence of double sequences in real line as well as in general metric spaces. We primarily study the inter-relationship between these two types of convergence and then investigate the category and porosity position of bounded I and I*-convergent double sequences. If S is a monoid, the right S-act S×S, equipped with componentwise S-action, is called the diagonal act of S. The question of when this act is cyclic or finitely generated has been a subject of interest for many years, but so far there has been no explicit work devoted to flatness properties of diagonal acts. Considered as a right S-act, the monoid S is free, and thus is also projective, flat, weakly flat, and so on. In 1991, Bulman-Fleming gave conditions on S under which all right acts S I (for I a non-empty set) are projective (or, equivalently, when all products of projective right S-acts are projective). At approximately the same time, Victoria Gould solved the corresponding problem for strong flatness. Implicitly, Gould’s result also answers the question for condition (P) and condition (E). For products of flats, weakly flats, etc. to again have the same property, there are some published results as well. The specific questions of when S×S has certain flatness properties have so far not been considered. In this paper, we will address these problems. S.
